Drey being the youngest of the group and how he most likely took care of Ava and Jay a bit before leaving but all he could say to Chip before the ship sank was “Close your eyes, bud, it’ll be done soon.”

Drey being young himself when Captain Rose found him and saved him. Saved him from the sea, from a monotonous life, from the navy, and from the Ferin name and family. The one who believed Drey could be something more.

And yet, Drey “Sureshot” Ferin who was the most vocal about trying to save Rose and to not hurt him when he was being corrupted was the one that took the killing blow.

And now Drey is back in the Black Sea, trying to find Arlin, seeing Finn aging much more rapidly than he should be, and Chip, the little boy who wanted a home and family (much like Drey himself) and was so scared of what was happening has now become another victim to this sea. The sea that Drey caused to flood by grabbing the egg. Chip is forever changed, no longer alive, and it is partially Drey’s fault.

And Drey can’t even reassure him or tell him that it’ll be over soon because he has no idea what is coming

I know drey probably wouldnt look THIS aged post-block but I wanted him to look little unrecognisable and to visually put more emphasis how the block fucked him up. Dreys such an interesting character wish the albatrio spoke to him more.

as we approach the day of the war against the navy here is a reminder of why exactly all this is happening because god knows i fucking forgot this crucial lore. this one goes out to everyone else that has not retained a piece of important information since 2014. here are some transcripted lines from breaking the ice #32 when they first speak to lizzie about her war effort, starting about 36 minutes in.

Lizzie: They’ve been making more aggressive moves. Something’s changed. The whole world seems to be changing and it's not just the navy.

Lizzie: I saw the fucking navy come onto the outlaws. They raided our soil. They killed… they killed some of their own. But not before killing one of the most powerful pirates. One of the pirate lords.

ok so basically the whole “Ollie is Rose’s son” theory. It’s the idea that when they get back to Zero there's missing posters for Ollie, and with his last name on there things start clicking for Chip- and the rest of the riptide pirates. Ollie doesn’t really notice and just gets excited bc its like he has a wanted poster, like a real pirate. And he just doodles on his own missing poster to make it look more like how he does now. I think Drey should get to say he looked familiar but whatever </3

so is anyone else just always thinking about how chip is scared to find arlin because he’s built him up so much in his head that he’s worried the real arlin won’t live up to how chip imagines him

Considering a Pokemon AU purely for the idea of Chip having an Eevee companion. Jay having a Talonflame. Gillion with a Magikarp that turns into a Gyrados. Lizzie also with an Eevee, but it evolves into Umbreon to match up with Chip's Sylveon. Drey with a Braviary. Finn having ridden Kyogre temporarily, but his main is probably Basculegion. Arlin with a Machamp. Caspian with a Kingdra. Edyn with a Milotic, but also a Gyrados. Niklaus with an Absol!!!

it’s almost midnight and I just can’t stop thinking about Drey Ferin and his relationship with his brother and family

I wonder how much it hurt for him to realize that despite all his efforts to seek approval from his family, they’d never see him as anything, and in the end his own brother would seek to not just kill him, but torture him. His own fucking brother made him experience what was basically hell and all because he was a pirate. Drey had nothing when Jayson found him. He lost the real family he found, the real love and appreciation he deserved, everything his own family couldn’t give to him and just like that it was all taken.

And Jayson was just adding salt to the wound. Trapping him in the BLOCK and resolidifying just how little fucks his own blood-related family could give about him.

I wonder what he saw when passing through the desert. Did he see himself killing Captain Rose again? Or maybe Captain Rose still covered and dying in that black tar goo telling him that he had betrayed him and that he was unlovable and unwanted.

And now he’s been tasked to raise his brother’s daughter. A constant reminder of his brother’s cruelty but also the hope for a brighter future for the Ferin family.

AUGHHHH uagaughgh... i think its. his feelings about chip and jay. and the albatross as a whole. every time grizz talks about it in the rolled it gets to me because he cares about them SO MUCH ans it hurts him just to look at them and know the lived they went through and at least partially blame himself for them like. maybe jay couldve left earlier if hed been there for her maybe jayson wouldnt have been so cruel. maybe chip wouldnt have ended up running with such rough company for years if he'd still had a home maybe theyd all be safer if they'd been able to teach chip properly. he sees those teo and he sees the little boy his best friend risked his life for and the little girl he used to babysit and then he sees them as who they are now. and he probably sees the way their crew love them so kuch and he sees them play eith ollie and banter and tease and fight eith everyone the way a crew SHOULD and he sees everyones loyalty and maybe he wonders. would they choose the same as him, if it came down to it? if things went south that badly again would he have to take that shot? would one of them? COULD one of them?
