Aftermath
A personal head canon of mine - when Kagome lets loose a huge amount of reiki through an arrow attack during an intense battle, it drains her both physically and mentally. Afterwards, when her adrenaline levels have settled, she feels wobbly and faint, her heart rate is erratic and she feels exhausted and achey.
Luckily she has a super protective dog boy who doesn't mind being a pillow while she recovers for an hour or two. At some point, I'll finish writing the one-shot that goes with this art.

So if its obvious, I went on a anime childhood nostalgia spree, (mainly inuyasha) which spurred me to draw again characters lil me would have killed to be able to draw with mediocre skill capacity today
Inuyasha also made me realize why I was so enamored with Your Name, this anime quite literally shaped my preferences as well as my love for time travel shenanigans
So i thought hey, lets make an au of your name again
What i made up for this au was essentially some time god or whatever decided to mess with em and let them have bodyswap shenanigans before they actually met, with inuyasha having still been tentatively interacting with kikyo, and yes, thats him with a tail, i have headcanon-plot reasons for that-
Fun thought to add; Kagome!Inuyasha knows exactly what to do to woo Kikyo for Inuyasha, while Inu!Kagome inadvertently makes Hojo fall head over heels in love

For Fanfiction, it will be defined as: Stories that have developed a believable romance between Inu no Taisho and Izayoi (aka Inuyasha's parents). "Believable" is subjective, and it is up to those nominating/voting to draw their own line on that quantifier and vote their "Best". This includes canon universe and AU/AR settings.
For Fanart, it will be defined as: Any romantic depiction of Inu no Taisho and Izayoi (aka Inuyasha's parents).

So Immortal/Mortal Ships
What is the cut off?
Why are some ships with an Immortal/Mortal pairing considered creepy and others aren't? Cuz there has been a surge of people calling 2-year age gaps pedophilic this year, and losing their damn minds if two characters aren't the same age. But then they have age gap ships of their own.
Many of y'all can't keep up the same energy all around. You sit here shipping InuYasha and Kagome, despite how she is 15 and he is 200+, but then attack people who ship Edward and Bella, even though both are physically 17 even if one is technically 104.
But when this is pointed out, how your ship has an even wider age gap in it, you start whining about power imbalance, as if InuYasha ISN'T overpowered and hasn't nearly killed Kagome when he's lost control. But then you'll claim Edward is more mature than InuYasha which is a laugh cuz no he damn well isn't. Eddie Boy is a teen boy through and through. He's just a teen boy from the 1920s. But THEN you'll claim it's the time period they're in and how the 1400s-1500s of Japan is a more forgiving place to have an age gap relationship because they don't have modern technology on hand.
And this will go on. I've seen enough Twitter threads defending InuKag and demonizing other age gap ships.
So where is the cut off?
Cuz I've seen people on Tumblr, arguing that Genshin's Zhongli/Childe is pedophilic because Zhongli is a 6K+ y/o god and Childe is like a 20 y/o twink. Ajax is a literal adult. He is the youngest Harbinger, but he is still an adult. He even has the 'adult man model' y'all whine about. So how can this be pedophilic? Adults in an Adult ship. But cuz Ajax was 18 only two years ago, shipping him with Zhongli makes you a pedophile? Even though he is a literal terrorist and has killed a lot of peopel as the Cryo Archon's 'weapon of war'?
So, what about the Traveler? They are canonically 500+, and heavily hinted to be part of the primordial civilization that existed long before Zhongli came into being. I saw someone on Twitter whining in some Aether/Scaramouche fanart because of age gaps and pedophilia. Traveler being 500+ and Scaramouche being at most 400. How the hell is that pedophilia? Same body type even.
There are Aether/Zhongli fanarts that get attacked for pedophilia too. Zhongli 6K+ and Aether 500+(likely 10K+ according to popular theory). These aren't small numbers. And the Traveler has the mind of an adult and IS legally allowed to drink but is just tired of arguing about it all the time. Traveler doesn't even look like a child despite the claims of people who say being 5'4" makes you a child. On the same breath, some chick demonizing Aether/Zhongli ships Aether's twin with Eula, who is in her 20s and Ei who is 2K+. Why are those age gaps okay?
And there's even more to go from!
How about the Ninth/Tenth Doctor. Old as shit. Everyone seems to ship Nine/Ten with Rose. The age gap there is astronomical despite both being adults with Rose just barely being an adult. That is one of the most popular ships to come out of Doctor Who and the second or third most popular overall.
We have so many age gap fictional couples that are present in pop culture.
Why is it that some age gap ships are totally acceptable when the gap is massive, the power is skewed entirely to one side, and the youngest person in the ship is the equivalent of a blind lemming?
And why do people feel so comfortable throwing the word pedophilia around?

I apologise for asking this if it isn't something you want to talk about but do you know why there is so much hatred for Kagura from so many S*ssr*n shippers/HnY fans? I haven't seen HnY because I don't like sequels that take away the happy ending of the original so I only know a few spoilers through the grapevine, but the Kagura hate I've seen lately from some HnY fans reminds me of anti-Kikyou Inukag shippers from twenty years ago. But Inukag shippers are more supportive of Kikyou nowadays and fandom in general is less misogynistic than it used to be, so I don't understand why another woman being important to Sesshoumaru in the original Inuyasha series is so unacceptable that Kagura gets hate now. Even if people ship S*ssr*n, love isn't a finite resource? Sesshoumaru loving and wanting to avenge Kagura doesn't mean he can't love anyone else, it doesn't diminish his other relationships—especially because Rin was a literal eight-year-old child when Kagura was alive. It's not like Kagura was a yandere type who harmed Sesshoumaru or anyone else he cared about, either, after a while Rin knew she had nothing to fear from Kagura and was squee'ing about Kagura being in love with Sesshoumaru.
Again, I apologise for how long this question was and sending it on Anon, I just didn't want to get hate from S*ssr*n shippers or HnY fans. Kagura's my favourite Inuyasha character, so it made me sad to browse the Inuyasha reddit/tumblr and see people calling her a 'manipulative bitch' and such when I went looking for fanart and fic about her. It's especially strange coming from people who praise other former villain characters like Sesshoumaru, who did worse things than Kagura when he was evil.

but since i'm obviously on the opposite end of the spectrum in this situation & have only really been involved in the tumblr iy fandom for so many years, the only thing i know about any of that drama is that she's perceived as a threat to their yucky ship bc she was really the canon love interest for sesshomaru in the og series. and kagura is obviously the polar opposite of rin in literally every aspect. like, we have a demoness that was born from the body of the main villain who comes out the gate swinging on koga's entire family & is forced to beef with the whole inugang constantly and calls sesshomaru a bitch to his face the second time they meet. versus a cute lil baby who's a complete blank slate. so for people that don't care for her bc of their ship bias it's pretty easy to misinterpret her character & motivations and draw silly conclusions lmao. i'm not gonna say kagura isn't problematic in some ways but LITERALLY WHO CARES it's not that serious?? pretty much everyone in IY has done morally questionable shit. it's a fairy tale set in feudal japan, like. and it sucks that you're coming across negative bs when you're just trying to enjoy yourself in this fandom!! that happened to me too when i first got back into iy in 2020 bc i didn't know that kagura was like severely hated until i joined an iy group on fb (owned by you-know-who, unbeknownst to me) and saw all that weird shit lmao. but there's a lot of really great creators on tumblr, at least, that are anti-sr & pro-kagura, so i hope that you could at least enjoy yourself on this blog!! <3

Inukags are so hypocritical, they themselves know Yashahime is non-canon but for some reason that never extends to Moroha, but then I’ve seen them nastily reblogging or commenting on fanmade InuKik kids fanart by laughing and bragging how it’s a second-rate copy of Moroha and that InuKiks are “coping” with non-canon fankids, as if Moroha isn’t just as non-canon as those InuKik kids are!
What can I say. They have always been hypocrites. Thanks yashahime it's clearer. They're mad about their own couple's fan-made brat 🤣 Rumiko didn't give them the brat canon. It must hurt.

How do you find interviews that Rumiko has done about Inuyasha? Google doesn’t give me much info. The most I could find was the character profile thingies and some stuff on twitter. I feel like there’s a lot of fandom hc that just kinda get accepted into C without any real sources?? I’m so confused about where people are getting their information. I was hoping to find some forums or translated message boards but nope :(

The #1 source for translations of Rumiko Takahashi interviews is @rumic-world (rumicworld1 on twitter), you can find all the interviews on their website furinkan.com (here). Dylan & Harley Acres have been die-hard fans of Rumiko Takahashi for like, 20+ years, and they collect everything they can find about her. Their translations tend to be reliable and unbiased from what I heard.
For recent interviews, especially regarding everything related to Yashahime, @ayuuria has translated almost all of them on their blog.
And finally @inu-fanon was a fan translator of the IY manga and they debunked a lot of misinformation & mistranslations in the fandom on their blog. I also found a few verifiable info about Rumiko from them that I didn't find anywhere else.
If someone tells you "Rumiko said that" but they can't link back to these people, or they can't provide a screenshot or link to the source in Japanese, I would not believe what they're saying, lol.
Some classic "Rumiko said" that are false:
- "Kagome doesn't age in the feudal era because she's from the future so she can live for a long time with Inuyasha" this was on Kagome's page on a fan wiki called "Heroes Wiki" with no source but it looks like they removed it.
- "Inuyasha was meant to end up with Kikyo and Kagome was meant to go back to the future but Rumiko was pressured by fans to make inukag endgame" or "Rumiko only made Inukag endgame because Kagome's VA told her to" (the source for this is a Spanish blogpost which mistranslated this interview (Q4) where Rumiko said that she hesitated about "which world" Kagome was going to choose but in the end she felt like Kagome would be living "with half a soul" without Inuyasha so she went with what was best for Kagome).
- "Inuyasha was confirmed to be 200 years old & aging slowly. " The profile book only says Inuyasha is "15 (in human years)" which could be a reference to him being sealed for 50 years. In 2001 Rumiko said she doesn't know how hanyo ages, only that she wrote Inuyasha to be 15 so he's the same age as Kagome. In 2020 she said that Inuyasha, Kagome and Moroha "age at about the same pace as the timeframe of the story. Signs of their aging may show up decades later." which to me means they age like humans. The Inuyasha is 200 years old thing is from the third movie and everything anime-only is non-canon to me.
There's probably others but you get the idea! I know all this because Inuyasha is my special interest and I need to know EVERYTHING there is to know about the series lmaoo ✌ Also because I hate 90% of the popular fanon for the series, especially for inukag.

When I saw the inspiration picture for the @inuyasharedraw event, I knew I wanted to give it a try. Originally thought about a fantasy RPG AU version, but then my hand slipped and we have high school uniform Kagome!
I dunno I just liked the idea of during the three years Kagome was blocked from everyone else, she seriously contemplated using her abilities to blast a hole through the well. She did it once before, why not? Granted she was blasting away tree roots and smashed the other side all up back then with nerfed levels, so I can't even imagine what she'd do when she's uncapped.

Wholeheartedly agree.
I've adopted the policy of abstaining from posting about it, in the hopes of moving on and helping whatever hype it still gets to die down, which includes deleting any asks I still get regarding the subject.
But considering it's been a while and you asked me, out of anon, what my thoughts are on this topic, I feel obliged to give you my honest opinion. Here it goes.
If there's one thing I hate, it's being manipulated. And using my favorite characters to trick me into consuming grooming propaganda it's a whole new low.
Not to mention that I've been pretty vocal, at the time, against the panty shots this mangaka drew of a 14 years old character. It would have been pretty hypocritical on my part to look past it now, just because my favorite ship got more screentime.
In fact, is it even my favorite ship? Because Inuyasha and Kagome are out of character most of the time. I don't know who those strangers are, but the characters I know and love would never sit by and not only letting a little girl get groomed, but also being okay with it and envying the relationship she has with her abuser.
I fail to understand what I, as an Inukag shipper, would gain from this glorified, non-canon doujinshi that I couldn't get from a well written fanfic or a well designed fanart.
As far as I can tell, this adaptation is even worse than the original, because even though both are clear portraits of grooming, the latter, despite tone deaf, lacked romance, while the former had no shame in romanticizing the grooming implications, selling the idea that the relationship was natural instead of wicked and getting away with it due to its slightly better writting.
Everyone is free to consume whatever media they want, whatever they want, of course. I'm not here to judge anybody, especially because a considerable amount of mutuals are following the story. I myself have been collecting the benefits of a more active timeline on twitter and the beautiful redraws the screenshots provided.
But even through pirating, when we talk about the doujinshi and share its panels, we're actually advertising it to other people who, otherwise, might not ever find out about it. And maybe these people will support it even if we don't.
That's why I try my best to avoid engaging with it. The faster it falls into oblivion, the better. In the meantime, my attention is reserved only for people who create Inukag content free of grooming conotations. Anyone else can do as they please.
