Episode 34 notes!
I was a little surprised we had a "previously on" part on this one. Were they trying to fill up time? XD
I do love, though, that they thought it very important for us to see this face (and getup) of Loid's again.
Tumblr media
Best Spy of Westalis, everyone.
Anyway, onto the action! Damn McMahon scared me he was going to die, with how he lay there slumped like that.
Tumblr media
Yor really got a second wind after her realization. Seconds ago she was barely able to lift her head up, and now she's up and fighting with multiple open wounds, and still getting the katana guy all bruised up and tired.
And I'm thinking, she believes Loid would forgive the blood on her hands and the fact that she may have to leave them, because he'd see how she's done it for the betterment of the world... and he actually would, because he's doing the same. We now need to see that she'll provide the same understanding and forgiveness when his secret comes out.
I find it a little funny that all this deathly action was taking place up above and everyone else, even Twilight, were none the wiser. Like we go from Yor and Katana Guy fighting to the death and then there's Anya jumping from excitement from the fireworks and Loid just being like "I'm glad you had fun".
And again, following what he thinks is her worries, he apologizes for not being able to find Yor. He's determined to comfort her and I find that so sweet. And then
Tumblr media
Anya may be realizing she's too young to have the attention span needed for a professional spy. She's prioritizing fun without realizing it, and to the detriment of her plans, Loid is actually enabling that XD I love my weird family XD
Loid finds out about the bombs and though his spy training tells him to stay out of it and leave it to the SSS to handle the crisis, his knack for amassing responsibility rears its head.
Tumblr media
He not only considers the worst possible scenario, he also takes it upon himself to avoid it, like he does with the cold war situation. Nothing of this is on him to blame, but he still thinks that "I can help avoid that" and he just runs straight into danger to do just that.
I wonder if he considers that a consequence of his enhanced abilities. If he believes that he's not above anyone else because he's smarter, faster, stronger, etc than the average human, but because he has all those innate skills and talents, he owes it to the world to use them for good. I don't know, maybe I'm taking it too far with this XD
Anyway. He will certainly be questioning how the very ship he happened to travel on just happened to have a ton of bombs on it to make it sink. That's another thing that will make total sense post-identity reveals when Yor tells him why she was really on that ship XD
Loid doesn't even get to start coming up with ideas for where to leave Anya, and Anya already very conveniently offers the probably best solution: a kids play room XD
Like, again, this show is comedy at its core, so even when there's action and tension going on, things will conveniently happen without making the most sense because it's how comedy works XD Endo knew what he was doing when he started it XD
But also, another thing that will make more sense to Loid after identity reveals. Because he wanted to focus on the bomb, Anya said she wanted to play and he was like "Please for the love of god not now" and she somehow went like "Imma go play on my own and have supervision so you go do your thing" and he should know this isn't common at all. He does say it's lucky but he has no idea XD
The anime added a bit more in this small section, as in the manga the daycare worker doesn't even get to speak to Anya, because she escapes immediately. In the anime Anya plays with a ball for a bit, then asks to draw, and as the woman starts picking up drawing supplies, Anya takes her chance and she's off!
Tumblr media
"Hello, I am most definitely not voiced by Takuya Eguchi"
I just love how he just dropped his voice a few pitches instead of putting on a fake voice. And just as I wrote a meta about how Twilight uses a different timbre of his voice when he speaks as Loid, huh XD
Again, we get a mention of "Western extremists". Loid mentioned at the start of the cruise that Princess Lorelei is "the pride and joy of Ostania", so it would make sense to take it down as a fuck-you to Ostania from a rival country. However, without relevant intel, Twilight also considers the possibility that it was simply rigged to spark the fire of war between the two countries, without swearing on it. That's some pretty good deduction without passionately taking sides.
I just think it's very interesting that despite being from Westalis, he never takes the side of its government. He's only on the side of peace and he'll protect both or either West and East interests if it means peace can remain.
It's amazing how Anya's involvement helped things! And how it was even set up!
I was just thinking, a little before I watched the episode, that indeed Yor was missing her weapons. The first dagger was left in the crow's nest where the sniper was, the second was broken by the guy with the mace, and the third slipped from her hand when katana guy first fought her. Which means all this time she's managed to bruise and tire out Katana Guy with her bare hands, while he had his katana on O_O
Ok listen.
Tumblr media
First of all, consider the muscle strength a five-year-old would need to throw that dagger that far. And it's not a simple, light dagger, it's strong and massive enough to break through a wooden door and a human skull at once, it's gotta carry some weight. And Anya was able to throw it up an entire story above her and then some more.
But then, it's also the placement of where the dagger ended up - in front of the pipes so that the other guys wouldn't see it immediately upon turning the corner.
Tumblr media
Like, they would see the pipes, and prepare to jump over them as they turned the corner, but it would be easy to not spot it and slip on it - and again, because of its position, the guy who slipped on it had the pipes on the right height to first hit his head on them before his back could land on the ground. If it was a little closer he would hit his legs or hips on the pipes, and his body would bend over backwards, and if it was further he would first land on his back and probably not hit his head and lose control of his weapon.
But as it was, he did hit his head, he did lose control of his weapon, and he did shoot the other assassin.
Okay, it was a little ridiculous that the dagger had so much velocity from being slipped on to jump around and land with its pointy end right on the ass-assin (sorry), but it's funny so I don't mind at all.
Tumblr media
Just according to keikaku.
Tumblr media
Watch out, she's armed!
I love how Katana Guy had been fighting her bare arms and was still exhausted and bruised, and yet when she picked up the weapon she's proficient in he went like "Hmph! I will finish this" like my dude where do you find the confidence, she's been mauling you bare-handed and you think you'll handle her armed??
McMahon coming to at the very right moment to kick Sniff Jobs' ass and I breathe a sigh of relief. (Thanks to tare-anime for sharing the fandom's chosen nickname for that guy! It's funnier than calling him "Turtleneck Guy" XD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gotta love how she goes from "demonic assassin" to "sweet cinnamon roll too good for this world" in a single blink.
Katana Guy is down and I breathe another sigh of relief! That was intense!
Anya was so happy she helped her Mama! I still don't know if she grasps the actual gravity of the situation, she should normally be having nightmares about it XD
Twilight is more stressed of being surrounded by SSS agents than having to diffuse a bomb and I think that says a lot about him XD
And then Yor used too much power fighting all those assassins that she couldn't even wonder properly how her weapon ended up in the butt of a guy she wasn't even fighting. The family braincell was being thoroughly used by Twilight in that moment, it couldn't multi-task XD
I saw the blood on the ground from Sniff Jobs and immediately went like "O_O Where did that guy go!"
And then, even in the midst of a very important and dangerous situation, the SSS agent is being a dick and bossy. In the manga Twilight wonders it the SSS are trying to save face and that actually would make a ton of sense.
I like how in the manga, when Anya walks next to Sniff Jobs, his thoughts are shown in bubbles with a black background.
Tumblr media
Dark thoughts, dark background. It's happened before.
Tumblr media
Then he puts his nose at work and actually becomes the reason the ship is saved. He smells the explosives in the clock, Anya hears his thoughts, then casually transfers the info to someone who can take care of it.
I love how the security guy was so worried about how to find the bombs that he yelped when Anya said a simple "Excuse me" XD
The guy dismissed Anya's request at first, which got her to cry, and I wonder how real that crying was. She was, after all, facing the threat of a bombing attack. But it got the guy to check the clock in the end! And also because Anya is such a small kid that he wouldn't suspect something's up with her.
Tumblr media
Sniff Jobs was right - the assassin profession is one built on trust, yet he didn't follow his own advice. The informant didn't trust the assassins and put bugs on them, they didn't trust him and planned to betray him, and because of that they all died. The informant planted the bombs, and the guy followed him to kill him, and one of those bombs ended up being the death of both of them.
That said, I kinda love how that story ended. I have a weakness for a felled villain trying to reach out in despair and anger, even while they're heavily wounded and in pain, and then just getting their comeuppance for good. There's some sort of humanity shown there, but that they use to such wrong lengths that you can't feel sorry for them. But it is interesting to me, in a way :D
I guess Informant Guy didn't expect an elite spy to be on board who'd want to stop his plans. Twilight wonders what purpose the bomb in the clock had and I'm a bit confused. The bombs in the lower decks were there to create holes to make the ship sink. Wouldn't the bomb in the clock cause commotion in the upper decks, making it harder for people to escape as much as it's possible?
If anything, Informant Guy was counting on the devices being retrievable so that the Ostanian government would blame the bombs on Westalis and start another war. It's creepy, too, how lightly he was taking the whole thing.
Knowing how it goes it's actually pretty funny to see Twilight just rip the clock off and go like "Imma throw this into the sea bye" and then just run for it.
Tumblr media
Rip I guess, whatever that was.
Tumblr media
THIS WAS SO SWEET AAAAAAHHHH
AND THEN THIS
Tumblr media
And what Olka says to her too! It's practically the realization Yor had on her own about her job. That she gets her hands bloody and risks her life to provide a better world for her loved ones, but she doesn't see those hands as worthy of affection. And yet Olka shows her that, and an innocent child does as well!
Tumblr media
This is what she coats her hands in blood for, and this is a moment of someone recognizing her for that, giving her physical affection and affirmation as a thanks for her sacrifice.
Yor reached that point on her own, but Olka and Gram giving them their affection reassured her of it. It's worth it. She is worth it.
Just let her work under a less abusive boss please I beg
Olka actually wishes for Yor and her family to find happiness. Yor was there simply to provide protection, but they both gave each other hope for the future. And that ties back to the main theme of the entire story. Hope. Humanity. Connection. We're not meant to fight. We're meant to love.
Excuse me while I ponder over this for the next three to five days and probably my entire life T_T
As others have mentioned, McMahon reminds Yor to not become sentimental, that they're merely foot soldiers on the trenches of the cold war, yet he gives her the last day off to relax with her family. And he actually says that is a reward for her doing her job well. The music even turns hopeful and sweet.
I just realized that it looks like Yor hasn't sleep at all during the trip? The first night she stayed vigilant while the others slept (though Olka was awake for some time, too), then she had a long fight with a bunch of assassins, and now McMahon told her to stay on alert until dawn breaks. So she's pulling two all-nighters with an extended fight in between where she got injured and hit her head. Is my girl okay???
And a bunch of steps back on the acceptance front stands Twilight.
Tumblr media
He worries about having left Anya on her own, not because he might look suspicious, but because he's spent most of the trip focusing on her emotions and trying to help her have fun. And in the midst of that, he had to pass her off to a daycare to go be a responsible spy saving the world. The fact that Anya had the time of her life and was excited that he was saving the ship is irrelevant, since he doesn't know she was, and he only sees that as a failure of his as a pretend father.
And then catches himself, but even then! He can't even fully justify it to himself!
Boy is starting to slip majorly and he's starting to lose his footing on his denial. His "for the mission" excuse is starting to not suffice... and he's starting to see that.
That's a big step both Yor and Loid have made in their progress of accepting their place in the family, though Yor has a huge head start and Loid will probably still hang onto his denial as much as he can. I'm really curious to see how their dynamic will develop now that they'll meet on the island, and how it will continue once they return home!
Tumblr media
As I said this was sweet af but it's also funny how there's so much inconsistency on Anya's size. Like! She legit looks like a baby here! I know Loid is supposed to be bigger than you'd expect but Anya isn't that small XD
The music that played in this scene was a soft variation of the theme playing when they board the ship, as well as during the fight in the previous episode after Yor secures the trio. It's very subtle cause it's mostly a piano playing the harmonies instead of the melody.
Tumblr media
Yor put her earring back on! As in the manga, in the end of the fight with Katana Guy she's still missing the earring that she threw at Sniff Jobs and probably ripped her earlobe with. But when she met up with Olka and helped them off, she had put it back on. So she did an absolutely insane thing and put the earring back on even though her earlobe was wounded. This woman eats hot coals for breakfast.
And off we go! Three episodes left in the season and this anime only is trying to not lose her mind 🤪 it's been a wild ride and I've loved every second of it but I am really trying to not despair over the fact that it's three weeks left and then another year of waiting 🥲

[TL] BIOHAZARD/Chapter 5
[ This post uses Ois~su ♪ ]
Time: That night
Location: In living quarters of the AIIE experiment grounds
Tumblr media
Rei: Uwaa, we’re having a sleepover with all of UNDEAD~♪
Fufu. The SS preliminaries was the perfect opportunity for one, but Kaoru-kun was thrown into a desert and separated from us.
I’m happy that the four of us can have a sleepover together peacefully– gah!?
Koga: ...
Rei: Koga? Don’t throw an omanjuu at me? Is this your way of telling me you want to play?
Koga: Stop bein’ so happy-go-lucky, vampire bastard. The hell you mean, pajama party.
Rei: Oya, how nostalgic. Could this be that you want me to call you ‘wanko’ for the first time in a while?
Koga: I ain’t callin’ you that for nostalgia purposes, I’m insultin' you.
Rei: How troubling. Please don’t take your frustrations out on me.
We’ve all given our consent to take part in this experiment.
We can’t complain now, can we?
Koga: We was basically forced to? If it hadn’t been us, it woulda been like, Ra*bits who haven’t done nothin’ wrong.
Then we’d hafta live with the knowledge that them lot are now the victims whilst we watch from the sidelines.
It’s better for our own mental health to just do it for real, right?
‘Cos I don’t like this at all. Don’t forget that.
Kaoru: Ahaha. It’s definitely a little off putting and shady sounding, but it makes for an interesting story, right?
AI idols and stuff– no, technology and science in general has come a long way. Really, it’s like an old sci-fi movie.
If this was just a movie, or even just someone else’s problem, I think it could have been a lot of fun.
Tumblr media
Adonis: I also don’t feel great about this but I am interested in terms of the development of science and technology.
This is the future we thought of when we learnt about Voc*loid and drawing AIs, and it’s becoming a reality right in front of our eyes.
We’re now living in a near sci-fi world that people from the past could only imagine.
It’s like a dream, whether that’s a good or a bad thing.
I’m excited.
Kaoru: Ahaha. That totally has the vibe of a boyish heroic novel.
I don’t particularly like that sort of thing either. At the end of the day, I’m still the son of an academic who reached for the sea in search of romance and mystery.
Adonis: I also dislike jumping into areas I don’t know about.
Rei: If we think realistically, if we had refused to take part, there was the likelihood of RhythmLink turning their backs on us.
I suspect they would be rather unpleasant in the matter.
This is a necessary step so we are not thrown to the side. The compensation is rather impressive, and, in simple terms, profitable for us.
Well, we made quite the sum of money during the SS, so we have some to spare.
If an experiment such as ‘AI idols’ is successful, implemented, and announced to the world, won’t they look to us as we were the test subjects? Doesn’t that make this all worth it?
Koga: But this doesn’t solve the problem we’re havin’. They’re just killin’ time, it literally has nothin’ t’do with our situation.
This better not turn into a goose chase, wastin’ time runnin’ ‘round lookin’ stupid.
Rei: Umu. We should all brainstorm some ideas in order to solve the root of the problem, as Koga said. Fortunately, we have been blessed with plenty of time to do so.
Kaoru: Mmm… I was kinda on guard when they said experiment, but if they’re just asking us to stay the night here?
Rei: Umu. We will be given medicine, which will cause us to sleep for about half a day. In that time, via the devices connected to our heads, data will be collected and compiled.
During the time we are not asleep, we will exercise to prevent our bodies from weakening, and eat to keep up our energy levels. Let’s all get on, the four of us.
The testing period will last approximately one week. During this time, any other forms of work are banned, as the extra stimulus may skew the results.
Our phones will be confiscated, and we will be separated from the outside world.
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Kinda feels like being a prisoner or a hospital patient… Welp, this’ll be easy money if all we’ve got to do is laze around.
Rei: Umu. I suppose we can take it easy. We will be paid regardless as to whether the experiment produces useful results or not, so it’s not a complete waste of time.
Fortunately, this location is better than a hospital or a prison.
Look, there are some cards and board games we can use to kill time. Let’s play until it’s time for us to sleep.
Koga: Ain’t you bein’ too relaxed ‘bout this whole thing?
Rei: That’s a good thing, is it not? I’ve been acting unusually mature since my youth, so I do not have many experiences like this. Such as having a sleepover with friends of the same age—
That’s why. I can’t be sure of the future, but I know I am very happy right now ♪

You are the writer how are you surprised that Grimm falls in love first?????
I have mentioned this pretty often but I get to decide maybe 5% of what happens. Everything else is improvised and run by the characters. I'm only one step ahead of you guys in a way that I can draw the comic, and even when drawing I have only a vague idea what's been spoken/what's going on. Sometimes I have to typeset panels I've already drawn to see what the characters are talking about, so that I can tell what I should draw next.
I don't plan. I don't script. I don't design. I don't do storyboards. I sit down and start to draw and see what happens.
Here are some things from Death-Head's Deal that are NOT my ideas but the story/characters decided these themselves:
Vanessa was supposed to be hyena. She wanted to be a leopard called Vanessa.
Grimm was supposed to be a lizard like black monster type, while Pearl was his assistant. Nope, Pearl is an office worker at the HQ and Grimm is a half-face cat working as North's leader, and they’re married. The moment Pearl sees Grimm in the comic is the moment I saw Grimm for the first time, too.
Dinky Sugar was supposed to be just a side character changing a few lines with Joon.
In the same story, Miranda was supposed to be the bad girl, breaking Joon's heart. But nope, Joon told me they're happily together and live under the same roof. I expected they had just met recently, like a few months ago.
Speaking of Joon, I didn't design him. I kept seeing in my head a scene were a woman is speaking with a half-face rabbit man from the East faction, but that man wasn't Alrick. I went "Ok, now, who are you?"
I've decided names only for a few characters; Grimm, Kibibi, Cadao, Metin, Aditi, and Pearl's & Alyssee’s surnames. Everyone else in DHD has named themselves, meaning that the name immediately comes to me or some other character reveals it (like Joon introduced Viv and Miranda to me. I would have never named anyone as Viv or Miranda!).
Talking about names, I knew that Death-Head men named Dio and Joon exist in the DHD world before I knew how they looked like.
West Faction leader and assistant introduced themselves to me just last week.
I don't like to draw stories with children or families, those are my least favorite tropes I avoid like plague if I can, yet we have Cat & Hagon with 4 kids and Joon babysitting Viv. If I get to decide, no one had kids.
Loid just revealed last night how he and Pearl know each other, and told me what his role and place in the DH world actually is. I had been wondering where Pearl and Loid knew each other from, and if Loid was going to stay or just pop in for a short visit.
ALL that has been revealed about the DHD world, their work, paymets and how Lywood is.
Factions having their own facial paint styles.
Dio being formerly in North under Grimm’s command.
Hagon being sick, being a home dad.
Alrick introduced Lou-Lou to me completely.
Kahamet appeared to me in a dream many, many years prior to Death-Head’s Deal.
Vanilla having some shady businesses going on and her targeting Alrick.
Just A FEW to mention.
I've said that I feel that I can't really take a full credit for Death-Head's Deal (nor for any other creations of mine) as I don't "make" them. They come to me.
This type of, well, perhaps we could call it inspirational channeling, seems to be quite typical for many creative people.

Tumblr media
"Er..."
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Tumblr media
"...Seriously?"
*snort* Hmm? What? ...Oh! Oh, yeah. I guess I should do this part myself. So sorry! *AHEM*
So! What sort of antics do you think would take place if the Forger family decided to go on a family "ooting" to the countryside of Asahigaoka, whether for a vacation or a mission disguised as a vacation, and visit the Miyauchi family? I bet I could write volumes on the subject (and given the chance, I probably would), but we'll just focus on one possibility for now -- I can easily imagine Anya getting along well with Renge and her friends, even though they live in very different worlds (very, very different, in fact), but what sort of things would they do together? I don't know about you, but one of the first things that came to my mind was this: Renge and Shiori inducting Anya into their secret organization!
Which secret organization am I referring to, you may wonder?
Tumblr media
I hope they don't mind me blabbing about it. 😅 See this video for the (mostly) full context.
So with that idea in mind, allow me to introduce the complete crew with its newest member from Ostania!
Tumblr media
As you can see, the grown-ups with them are thrilled to see them proudly representing the forces of good! ...Well, at least the women are. 😏
Shiori and Renge were relatively easy to draw -- as you can see, they're wearing the same outfits and expressions as they are in the screenshot and making the same poses:
Tumblr media
Anya might be their newest member, but she's a natural at making the same pose!
Tumblr media
She might believe the Cosmos Detectives are a real organization, knowing her. 😄
Since she's never actually made this pose (as far as I know, anyway), I did my best to duplicate it for her, using some official art for her expression (changing her eyes a bit to make her look more assertive) and a figurine picture for her outfit:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll be darned if that summer outfit doesn't have some crazy detail. 😳
Meanwhile, Loid's wearing a simple green shirt and a "What are they doing?" sort of expression:
Tumblr media
For him, I used a screenshot of his profile and rotated it a bit:
Tumblr media
The ladies, on the other hand, are delighted by the girls' enthusiasm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Yor's face, I used a screenshot of her profile and one of her smiling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you may have noticed, her outfit (or at least what you can see of it), is identical to the one in the second screenshot, but with a more summery-looking headband.
Kazuho's pose, expression, and outfit also came from a screenshot:
Tumblr media
Both of the ladies were rotated as well, as you can see. I'm not entirely sure, but I think I might be getting a little better at drawing perspective. I'll let y'all decide that one, I guess. 😊
And finally, the environment is largely based on the one in the screenshot of Shiori and Renge. I definitely could've done the trees in the far background a little better, but that kind of shading is a little tricky to do with colored pencils (and not something you can undo if you mess it up). It was tricky for me, anyway, so I guess that's something I'll want to work on that. (Or at least I could sharpen them a little more next time. 🙄)
But overall, I'm pretty pleased with how this picture came out. I'm not surprised, considering how adorable the characters in it are, plus the idea was a fun one to illustrate. 😊 Again, I'd probably go wild with ideas about these two families meeting one another (or rather, this family and this pseudo-family meeting one another), but I'll save that idea for another time. Besides, a glimpse is better than nothing, right?
And with that, Operation Spy x Family x Non Non Biyori Drawing is complete!
...G'night. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

i loved your genshin x anemic!reader headcanons !! if it's okay, may i please have headcanons of loid forger (spy x family) with an anemic!partner ? thank you!
Hi there ! Oh thank you for this compliment ! I was somehow sure I messed up big time with it, eheh.
But, sure ! I got the eighth tome in the collector edition the day it got out, honestly, I love so much the entire thing, it's so cute (I wished there was some stickers in it but I'm already happy about it) ! No spoil, but I'm amazed by Yor and I'm excited for the next tome !
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this one as much as you enjoyed the Genshin x Anemic!reader !
Requested : Yes
Characters : Loid Forger (main), Anya, Bond and Nocturna (secondary)
Summary : Loid Forger with an anemic!partner, featuring Anya, Bond and Nocturna !
Word count : 1187 words
Warning : Since I don't know what the anime is covering from the manga, there's some spoilers ahead
✉️Asks are open✉️
✨Let's go ! ✨
Given the context of the story, I assume you and Loid married for convenience, much like Yor and Loid in the original story. Your anemia prevented you from finding a partner willing to take care of you and help you with your illness and your neighbors were getting suspicious of you. And he, well, needed a partner to take care of Anya and for his mission.
Since he stole the files from the town hall, he knew about your anemia, but he didn't care much. If anything, people would find it sweet he was willing to take care of an anemic partner.
So he married you, and you moved in, with Loid and Anya.
Loid went to the library and took all the books available on the anemia and how to treat it. He has the cover of being a psychiatrist, so people could easily assume he had a patient with mental issues and anemia.
Loid explained what anemia is to Anya, who imagined it was some kind of bad guy out there to hurt you.
Once Anya knew anemia is an illness and you needed mostly rest and some calm, she said she would be a good girl and your protector when Loid wasn't there !
She makes some drawings of her with Loid and you. You watch her favorite show together, while Loid is watching from the corner of his eye. He finds this spy show a bit ridiculous but seeing you and Anya being happy together by watching it makes him feel good.
You often played with Anya and Chimera. You even sewed a friend for the pink and green plush !
You also help the little girl with her homework. Honestly, most of characters think she's dumb or unable to learn, but it'll all in the method as she proved a few times through the manga/anime, she's quite smart. Since you spent a lot of time home with her, you were finally able to crack the code and you started to make her study for her school !
With Anya's ability to read minds and Bond's ability to see in the future, the second you start to feel bad and notice it or if Bond has a vision of you being unwell, she'll immediately go to Loid saying you feel weird. If he's not there, she'll call him, on the phone, right at the hospital. Well, you had to enter the number but Anya would make the call herself because she wants you to rest and because she’s a big girl !
Once Loid is warned, he'll go immediately to you (or leave work as soon as he can), to see what's wrong. He knows you can handle it, but he really wanted to protect you for the mission, he thinks at first.
Despite him knowing you could handle your own condition, he's still worried about your wellbeing and is quite afraid at the idea of you hurting without him knowing it. He won't tell it, but Anya will know and that's why she doesn’t waste time in telling him when you start to feel bad.
If you're worried about him being stressed over your illness, he'll reassure you and will tell you he knows you can handle it, but he wants to be a good husband to you and be there to help you, no matter what the anemia can bring you.
You both can cook. Usually, you cook lunch and he'll cook dinner. But sometimes, on his days off or when you feel well enough, you both cook something together. Anya would try to help you but since she tends to mess everything up (in the cutest way of course), you'll give her something to do as a distraction.
At first you don't sleep in the same bed, as you were each a bit flustered to be this close, especially with a marriage done in such context, but as your relationship progressed, you grew more and more comfortable around each other and you eventually started to sleep in the same bed, making your relationship more credible to the rest.
Loid knew anemic people were cold, but he never thought it would be this cold, especially in bed.
Of course he'll warm you up with hot towels, socks or just hold you close to him, to give you a bit of his warmth. He will also give you his hand or let you hold his arm, if it makes you hands warmer.
There's a lot of homedates, but when you'll feel well, he will take you on dates outside at restaurants, museums, movies or whatever you want, to make up to you about the times where he couldn't be there for you as it might or might not have started some rumors about him having an affair and it made him feel bad about it. Most of the dates are made with Anya though, so you three look like a real family.
Twilight or Loid's colleague, Nocturna, or Fiona Frost per her civil identity, will see you as a bother. She'll clearly think you are too weak to be Loid's partner and wonders why Loid chose such an ill person for a mission this important. You should give up and go back where you came from and let her be Mrs.Forger. She loves Twilight and she's ready to actually pick an indirect fight with you to get his attention.
Of course, Anya will hear those thoughts and will be very clingy to you and make extra efforts to help you and to let you help her, to show you're the perfect parent for her !
You might notice Nocturna is not thinking well of you, especially since she told you Loid complains at work that his partner isn't very capable.
But since Loid is honest to you about your abilities and how you are doing as Anya's parent, you knew it was Nocturna's invention or at least a bad interpretation of Loid's words.
So you accepted the challenge, to show Nocturna you were capable and strong enough to take care of the Forger family.
Loid told you you weren't obligated to do it, as he knew what Nocturna can do and was worried it would hurt you in some way. But he encourages you and assures you whatever the outcome is, you will still be Mx.Forger and you’ll always be Anya's parent.
Despite your illness, you managed to beat Nocturna's challenges and she eventually had to give up (for a while) because Loid was getting upset at her and Anya clearly disliked her. And also because the Strix operation could be in danger with her and her antics.
Overall, you all three (four, counting the dog) form a nice family who won't shatter under any circumstance and you will be safe and taken care of no matter how hard it can get.
"I am sorry I couldn't be there for you this week. But what about we go on a family trip next week-end ? If you think you would feel well enough for the trip, of course."
"You're the best parent Anya could have asked for, so don't worry, Father and Anya will protect you no matter what !"

Custom Toonami Block Week 151 Rundown
Spy X Family: Anya gets an assignment to interview an adult about their job and Yor can’t decide whether to show her child her murder job or her non-murder job so she decides to go with Loid instead. And apparently Loid does legit work at a hospital like I thought he was just blowing off work and being a spy full time because we NEVER see him there but apparently he works in a normal-ass hospital that just has enough spies in it to cover for him when he disappears combined with his ridiculous charisma stat to make him super popular. We also meet the lady that appears in all the NTR drawings thirsting after Loid so guess this is our foreshadowing for whoever she’s supposed to be. Meanwhile Anya finds a secret passage and immediately turns a room full of skeptical doctors into ghost hunters so yeah that’s pretty funny. At the end of the day Loid ends up distressed about Anya’s mental state and Anya makes a weird report that’s half and half between actual facts and spy shit she reads from Loid’s mind but luckily his insane charisma stat smooths it out. The secondary plot is Anya using Yor to get around her atrocious handwriting and make a spy cipher which apparently is real because Scruffyhead manages to decipher it thinking it’s a love note but she oversleeps the meeting time so it doesn’t really go anywhere.
Inuyasha: This one’s a Kohaku episode which is usually a decent sign but Kohaku’s arc has kind of stagnated in the later seasons like a lot of the longform arcs did. Princess Abi’s mom is like ‘hey Naraku’s demons are looking for Not!Kikyo everywhere except this one castle so maybe go check that out’ so yeah Abi’s fed up with Naraku pitting her against all these strong guys like Inuyasha and Kikyo when she just wanted to ransack mook villages and cure her mom so she says fuck Naraku and decides to betray him before he betrays her (which was inevitable let’s be real here) so they go to attack the castle, which just so happens to be where The Baby and Kohaku are staying. I don’t remember WHY Naraku’s doing this, like he seems to have no shortage of ‘just dip in here and no one can find me’ spots, so keeping the baby at a human castle with just Kohaku to guard it seems like a bad idea given it’s all but confirmed to be his heart at this point in the story, like even just having Kanna carry it around is a better option given Kanna’s one of the defensively most powerful characters in the series. But yeah Kohaku’s just kinda chilling, still got amnesia but he vaguely remembers being in a village like this where everyone was like family and that feeling’s only reinforced when Abi’s demon birds start attacking and it becomes like a demon slayer village. Naraku tells Kohaku to go protect the baby and he’s just protecting everyone anyway so of course he’s gonna protect the baby. Abi shows up and fights Inuyasha and Kanna’s just off to the side watching like ‘Well this place is fucked now’ so Naraku goes with the nuclear option and tells Kohaku to murder everyone around him just like he did to his family. So that was a good hiding spot for the baby for like… three days and we did +20 emotional damage to Sango I guess? What was this plan? Why do all of Naraku’s most extensive and convoluted plans seem to be focused on fucking with Sango specifically, like she’s the fourth most dangerous person to him in Inuyasha’s group I guess she just makes an easy target for emotional damage since he already has Kohaku in his pocket and that’s how Naraku gets off.
Yu Yu Hakusho: We interrupt Kuwabara’s studies to bring you Yusuke’s farewell party, they get the whole gang back together at Genkai’s place and she gives a cool speech about how Yusuke’s learned so much but knowledge doesn’t make his choices easier and how he, Hiei and Kurama are all going to Demon World and Kuwabara gets to stay home and study because he doesn’t have a demon sugar daddy, it’s a pretty emotional scene since nobody knows how they’ll be able to get back together or when but as an audience we know it’ll happen at some point so it’s okay. Turns out Spirit World found assassinating Yusuke was too hard so they settled for exiling him to Demon World at the request of each demon king being like ‘hey those three shonen protagonists you got over there, let’s take them off your hands, this isn’t a suggestion’ despite none of them actually posing any threat to humanity for a long time now (though Yusuke’s still upset Raizen might just jack his body whenever he wants). But yeah Yusuke goes to Demon World and has the ‘hey anyone find it ironic that the thing the villains of the past five arcs were trying to do we’re just doing and it’s no biggie?’ line that I’ve always loved. Mild tangent but I fell off with Yu Yu Hakusho towards the end of the Dark Tournament as a kid and only caught sporadic glimpses of Chapter Black and I remember randomly waking up early before school one day and seeing this episode on at like 5am so this is the last Yu Yu Hakusho episode I have any memory of. But yeah Yusuke runs for four days and finds his dad’s house and like a real deadbeat dad the first thing he does his beat his son and tell him he ain’t getting out of his chair so Yusuke blows his chair right off his ass. So yeah next time is Hiei’s big flashback episode so that’ll be fun, feel like this last arc is more of an epilogue to answer anything that hadn’t gotten fleshed out yet and kinda round things off in a conclusive way so that’s always fun.
Jujutsu Kaisen: This whole episode is the fight with Hanami and it’s really pretty cool, we get the abridged version of Todo’s backstory and his power’s revealed which is basically like Law’s Room combined with Hit’s Time Skip except he can only do it to stuff with Cursed Energy so he can’t be like Law and swap with a pebble or some dust or some shit. Still it makes for an absolute shitshow of wrecking Hanami and Yuji gets more of the big black punches off because apparently doing it is like doping and it just kinda makes everything easier, it’s funny because if I understand this right it’s the exact opposite of how his punches worked before, instead of lagging a few seconds behind they’re basically on top of each other at the speed of lightning. But yeah we have a few minutes of a beautifull choreographed three part melee while Todo plays mind games with Hanami and even steals back Maki’s polearm from last time and fucking knocks her eyes out but she gets her flower arm laser beam ready and just in time Gojo breaks down the barrier. That barrier had ONE job and it didn’t fucking do it, his Universe Eyes are to strong I guess. Gojo wrecks coatrack guy and the handholding guy runs away before we get to see a cool Nobara and Mai teamup fight which sucks I wanted to see those two work together and hate each others’ guts all the way. Gojo’s too far away to fuck up Nanami so he just sends negative vibes her way and fucking obliterates her with a dimensional rasengan from another zip code but also they never found the body and she never got to do her ultimate technique so she’s definitely still alive. But yeah now they have a bad guy prisoner and everyone else was defeated or fled but the bad guys got one of the Fingers so that sucks I guess.
Zom 100: So the power has FINALLY gone out in the zombie apocalypse which lines up with Akira’s idea to leave and go see his family anyway so they decide to steal an RV and make a mobile base (which is kinda funny cause they talk about packing light but if they’re just gonna throw everything in an RV anyway what’s the point, also glad to see that big screen tv they risked their lives for got like two episodes of use). So yeah while going RV shopping they run into Shizuka again which is just kinda contrived like I can’t find someone in a convention hall but these two keep running into each other in a whole fucking city but this time we do actually get her to join the party because she doesn’t know how to fucking drive. You’d think that’d be part of her risk analysis list of skills that would be useful but maybe before the apocalypse driving was more risky than public transportation. But yeah there’s a cute little montage of them shopping that re-illustrates Shizuka’s different perspective versus Akira and Kencho’s but also shows she’s not above being suckered by something that matches her tastes, still they end up getting jumped and just going with a middle of the road solid style RV. They end up getting to right outside Akira’s hometown when they run over a parking strip that blows out their tires, set up as a trap by none other than Akira’s old manager. See this is why Walking Dead has big long flashbacks that show why the characters float in and out of each others’ lives and when the group gets split up it’s a huge hassle to try and get everyone back together because you’re not usually just gonna run into characters you know already. However this does make for good dramatics because Akira has a full Puss in Boots 2 panic attack and agrees to the terms of working for two days to pay off the new tires and the medical equipment they need to take care of Kencho after her crashed the motorcycle (shouldn’t an RV already be stocked with a first aid kit? Like yeah maybe they only have one spare tire but Kencho’s the one that puts a ticking clock on this and if they get him alright and hunker in the RV they  can tell this guy to go to hell but he probably won’t take no for an answer anyway). So yeah absolutely nobody believes this is really just going to be for two days because this guy has established Neo Capitalism by getting people in debt because ain’t nobody just staying at his truck stop because he’s a good boss or anything. Kencho wonders why they can’t just stand up to him and Shizuka gives him an ‘the axe forgets but the tree remembers’ speech about why Akira has panic attacks whenever he sees the manager, meaning she was probably abused too at some point and now Akira’s back to being a corporate zombie. Man I hope this arc doesn’t drag on too long because it’s really unpleasant, like I get that’s the point and it’s supposed to be uncomfortable but just punch this guy in the face and get back on the road trip and find the hot titty lady from the opening already I’m not here to be dragged back into corporate dread.
Ranking of Kings: So before I get into the episode recap here this part about Bojji and Kage seeing their moms in the afterlife and wanting to join them but knowing they have stuff to do still just kinda gave me a mild existential crisis. Like if everyone ends up on the other side of that river anyway what’s the point? Is there anything wrong with Kage going over there and just being at peace? Well at least the way I see it the point is that the things that happen and the conflicts Bojji and Kage have resolved and are destined to resolve will form the people they become by the time they are ready to cross that river, the situation doesn’t change but they change in response to it, so I guess that’s what life’s all about. But yeah enough of me deciphering the meaning of life from silly show about Mute Prince and his Shadow Friend.
So yeah we pick up back on the river of death and Bojji’s Mom and Miranjo’s mom are sitting there talking to Miranjo about how her plan is only destroying her soul and causing pain for everyone around here. Bojji’s mom’s kind of a boss like she’s not even mad about being assassinated she’s just like ‘Yo mirror girl this plan’s kinda dumb, but it made my son stronger I guess so thanks’ but Miranjo’s determined that she’s come too far to go back now but she’s definitely questioning if making a deal with a demon and forever shredding her soul is worth what she wanted to do. Meanwhile the Big Four have cut Ouken to pieces but he just keeps coming back and everyone’s on the floor slowly dying. Despa tells Kage the Underworld Captain can stop the bleeding but he has to be stealth about it but that falls apart real fucking fast as Ouken stabs the captain and turns on Kage. Before anything else can happen though Daida!Bosse has decided he’s had enough of not being plot relevant and finally gets his ass up, he acts all cagey about being back but ends up healing everyone with Hilling’s spell that Daida inherited which is kinda funny, all the hoopla about how strong Bosse is and how Daida turned to Miranjo because he wasn’t strong enough and it’s Daida’s skill that saves the day. Still Bosse is drained by healing everyone and everyone’s sitting there wondering if they have to fight the winner of him vs Ouken. Daida!Bosse smashes Ouken with basically no effort and the rest of the fight is just him trying to figure out where to put the Ouken goo. So yeah he does the whole ‘turn a rock into diamond with you bare hands’ thing which is like his gimmick but he smashes Ouken into a little ball and sticks him into a rock os he can’t properly reform. Like I don’t know how accurate that is given how fast Ouken seems to be able to reform and how Bosse has to pick up all the armor and all the goo with his bare hands in that time but we kinda wrote ourselves into a corner on this one so I guess it’s fine. Now Bojji’s ready to fight Daida!Bosse for the winner take all of the arc and everyone’s just kind of shitting themselves because the guy just took out the person that was murdering everyone in a few seconds.
Vinland Saga: Canute returns home with Thorkell’s men (also weren’t they English? Don’t they have any compunction about just swapping sides for Thorkell’s battle boner or were they Danish too and just followed him over? I guess at the end of the day they’re just loyal enough to go wherever Thorkell goes) and everyone in the kingdom’s understandably rattled when the prince comes back leading the unit that was trying to kill him. Still their goal is to kill King Sweyn since Canute’s brother is out in the field it’ll mean acting king shit duties will go to Canute. But the king is already onto this and invites Canute back for a friendly father-son chat, just him, Canute and twenty of his most heavily armed guards, you know how parenting a teenager goes. They have a tense talk where the king tells him to basically take the Prince version of the lifetime achievement award and go fuck off or he’ll kill him right here since this isn’t his first oedipal throne stealing and he did the exact same thing to his dad at his age. Canute calls his bluff and Askeladd lays out way it would be a bad idea to murder the guy that handed him London on a silver platter and Sweyn is forced to back down, so for the time being both Canute and the king have to bide their time until there’s a suitable opportunity to justify killing each other. They also run into Ragnar’s brother who seems like way more of a sycophant turncoat than his brother was and speaking of brothers, the sane one of the two brother guys tells Askeladd he’s sorry for his brother doing the whole traitor thing and he’s gonna retire and go take care of his now mentally paralyzed brother. Askeladd agrees, telling him Bjorn’s also dying and Thorfinn will be the only one he has left, giving him a parting gift and telling him never to wield a sword again since he was always too decent a person to be just one of Askeladd’s treacherous bastards.

Mission Debrief: Chapter Forty-Seven
Tumblr media
...Right through the goddamn door!
Annnnnnddddd turns out it was option 2 behind the door. Endo went the cliche route and had the ol’ “bad guy disguised as room server” schitck, but considering we got a wicked assassination from Yor out of it I’m definitely not complaining (guess it was a good thing it wasn’t Loid and Anya!) This was probably the most action packed chapter since Loid took on Edgar’s men way back in the first chapter, and I am living for it. So let’s talk about it!
(Also just a quick shout out to @tare-chan and @musiciati for their awesome analyses. Check them out if you haven’t already!)
Tumblr media
Okay, like I said already, the room service guy. It’s cliche. It’s obvious. It’s overdone- but I think that was kind of the point. The moment we saw this guy we already knew what was gonna happen, and yet it was still exciting seeing everyone pop off and Yor impaling the guy with her dagger (with a little help from McMahon and his darts, of course.) It quickly becomes apparent that plot isn’t the main focus of this chapter- rather it’s the action. We’ve had exposition. We’ve had buildup. The last three chapters were mostly talking, and now we’re getting into the actual fun part of this arc.
Tumblr media
Endo has been building Yor up this whole time, and now we’re finally seeing everything come to a head as if the manga were this big, blockbuster summer movie about an army of assassins out for blood on a cruise liner. We’ve got all the tropes; an evil man-behind-the-chair, the eclectic group of cutthroat criminals, and a well-composed leader to reign them all in...
Tumblr media
...For the most part.
The kill count is climbing fast, which I suppose is to be expected when you’re in Yor’s line of work. Still, it’s interesting- and a little bit concerning- how readily these guys are willing to turn on each other. We see that more as the chapter progresses and things devolve into essentially chaos. Everyone knows that Olka and Yor know they’re being targeted, so it becomes a rat race to see who can kill the former first.
Tumblr media
Queue the masquerade scene (which funnily enough a lot of people were hoping would happen at some point, though not quite in this way). Yor is perfection in this whole sequence. Her assassin instincts are on full display, able to recognize the subtle feeling of killing intent even among an entire ballroom full of people. She has her eyes on everyone in there, including her charges, and despite her being nervous she invariably has everything under control.
Tumblr media
First taking out a hitman with a button from across the room, and then leading a man twice her size out on the dance floor. I just have to reiterate that everything about this was so slick and smooth. Yor’s killer accuracy. The ease she takes this man with her insane strength. That little bit at the end where she reveals she’s married and tells him “it isn’t right”- god, move over Twilight. Your wife is the real smooth one in the family xD
Tumblr media
Speaking of, it was only a matter of time before Anya got involved. It was kind of obvious that she’d be the first one to be clued in on Yor’s work, since she already knew the set-up for everything anyway. Now Anya knows the true extent of the trouble she’s in, even more so since we as the reader now know how much money is actually on the line here. Pulling out the math we did to figure out the cost of Handler’s coat, we know that Dalc= 3.16 to the U.S dollar. That means the combined bounty for both Olka and her son comes out to $2,528,000- an amount sizeable enough to make a boat full of eager assassins do anything to obtain.
Tumblr media
Luckily- as expected- Loid is no slouch in keeping tabs on the boat-goers. Of course he’s not privy to the potential slaughter happening on in the background, but he does immediately recognize all the wires and bugs hidden everywhere on the ship. I’m glad Endo pointed this out because a) I knew Loid would sniff them out eventually and b) It gives Loid the excuse as to why he won’t draw attention to himself through out all this. Evil-franky (the intelligence guy) is listening to everything going on in the ship. If he hears any little detail that might point him to Yor and Olka, he’ll seize it...though good luck getting anything out of Loid when he’s on his best behavior. He won’t accidentally let anything slip out now that he knows people are listening, allowing him and Anya (and by extension Yor) some degree of anonymity-
Tumblr media
-Assuming Loid can figure his daughter out. Poor guy just can’t catch a break, especially when Anya has no idea how to help her mama out. I know people were feeling bad that Anya has this recurring fear of Loid leaving her and Yor (frog hater), but honestly I was too busy laughing to care. Also I just have to appreciate Loid trying to be a good dad (FoR dA mISsuN.) Let him worry about that while his wife takes on an army. Y’know, typical Forger stuff.
It’s gonna be a whole month before the next chapter, but that doesn’t mean a lack of SxF! Endo’s been leaking out panels from his new novel and it’s looking fantastic. Also we’ve been seeing a lot more fan artists and writers popping up lately, so kudos to them for keeping us sated until chapter 48 drops! Ya’ll are the best!
Also, BONUS

Bookshelf Briefs 6/20/21
As Miss Beelzebub Likes, Vol. 12 | By Matoba | Yen Press – When you have a main couple as innocent and naive as this one, it’s going to take a lot of struggle to get them together. Indeed, even figuring out what love actually is is tough for Miss Beelzebub, much less that she’s in love with Mullin. And then, just as she’s ready to tell Mullin how she feels, he’s seized by self-hatred and doubt, thinking she’s far too high a station for him. This leads to her being depressed and avoiding him, which… repeat as needed. Thankfully, they do eventually manage to confess to each other. The series may not end with the wedding on the cover, but this is good enough. It was sickly sweet at times… but that’s why everyone read this series in the first place. – Sean Gaffney
BL Metamorphosis, Vol. 4 | By Kaori Tsurutani | Seven Seas – While the series is based around the premise of a teenage girl and an elderly woman bonding over BL, it’s become apparent that this is Urara’s book. Which makes sense—she’s the one searching for a goal. The creation of the doujinshi is very much an up-and-down process, one which we see throughout this volume. It ends at “Comitia 128,” with our unlikely friends manning their own booth. Sadly, said booth—at least so far—has no actual buyers. Honestly, I would have hoped the sheer oddity of the pairing behind the table would have been a draw, but I suppose it’s hard to look beyond the tables. I think this ends with the next book, so it’s time to binge before the finale. – Sean Gaffney
Her Royal Highness Seems to Be Angry, Vol. 1 | By Kou Yatsuhashi | TOKYOPOP – This seems to be a classic case where I’m really intrigued by the ideas this brings to the table, but the execution is not as stellar. A young woman has it all—powerful magic, her isekai’d-from-Japan boyfriend, and a kingdom who loves her—then it’s all destroyed and she’s killed. When she wakes, she’s in the body of a noble far into her future. Magic is a sad shadow of its former self, and she herself is, essentially, a villainess. Most of the book, unfortunately, then sort of slips into standard shoujo romance, but I like the idea that she doesn’t HAVE any memories of her current self, and has to fake it and deal with everyone’s hatred. I might check out the second volume. – Sean Gaffney
Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun, Vol. 12 | By Izumi Tsubaki | Yen Press – It amazes me how this book can still be so funny even after all this time, and I credit this to its central premise, which is that everyone in it is a complete dumbass—but never all at the same time. It’s a comedy rule; there has to be someone to react. Sometimes it’s Sakura, despairing about a relay novel that gets out of hand. Sometimes it’s everyone else in the cast watching the continuing car crash that is Seo trying to get Wakamatsu to recognize her feelings. And sometimes it’s Hori and Kashima, where his confession turns out to be, perhaps appropriately, a giant excuse for drama. These kids are all terrible at life, and are all so endearing, I don’t know what I’ll ever do without them if this ever ends. – Sean Gaffney
Snow White with the Red Hair, Vol. 13 | By Sorata Akiduki | Viz Media – It’s good for you! Builds character! That’s what it feels like most of the first part of this volume feels like, as Shirayuki is off to the North, meaning she and Zen will be spending a long time apart. That said, it’s as much about their little group of five than it is about the couple, as it’s clear Shirayuki is going to miss Mitsuhide and Kiki just as much. And as for Obi… well, the love triangle that dares not state its name comes pretty close this time around. (It’s a well-known fact that a majority of the series’ fans, at least in the West, want her to hook up with Obi instead, so the plot twist is not surprising.) All this plus a long, unrelated short story to pad out the volume! Still great, though. – Sean Gaffney
Spy x Family, Vol. 5 | By Tatsuya Endo | Viz Media – A large chunk of this book focuses on Anya and her difficulties at school—not only is it an elite private school, but she’s a girl who spent her life as an orphan, experimented on and abused, and she’s lied to Loid about her age to seem older. So, needless to say, schoolwork is proving tough. Normally she can get by by using her powers (i.e. cheating), but that doesn’t work during the new moon—which matches with exams. It’s tense, but also leaves us plenty of choice hilarious bits. Elsewhere, Yor attempts to learn to cook, and we introduce a colleague of Loid’s who is obsessed with him and VERY upset she was not chosen to be his fake wife for this mission. Everyone should be reading this Eisner-nominated manga. – Sean Gaffney
Teasing Master Takagi-san, Vol. 11 | By Soichiro Yamamoto | Yen Press – One of the reasons that folks seem to be more tolerant of Takagi than they are of Nagatoro or Uzaki is that, for the most part, Nishikata enjoys hanging out with her, and while he finds the teasing frustrating, it’s not because she’s bullying him, it’s because he’s so competitive. Half the time Takagi doesn’t even need to tease him—he shoots himself in his own foot. Even when he literally ends up fanning her like a queen, it’s on him. And, once again, the fun comes from realizing they already ARE a couple, it’s just he can’t really admit that. The most interesting chapter has one of their friends briefly ponder using Nishikata as a fake boyfriend, but it doesn’t even last long enough for Takagi to ponder jealousy. – Sean Gaffney
What Did You Eat Yesterday?, Vol. 15 | By Fumi Yoshinaga | Vertical Comics – The back cover blurb for this volume says, “A hard-working middle-aged gay couple in Tokyo experience new challenges both at work and at home.” Really, that about sums it up. Kenji has taken over management of the beauty salon and must figure out how to delegate some of his new responsibilities so that he’s still able to have dinners at home with Shiro. Most of Shiro’s story is about his parents, who are considering selling their house and moving into a retirement home. In between, there is some shopping for ingredients, a lot of veggies getting chopped, many burbling pots, and incalculable TBSP of soy sauce. Oh, and also everyone tries not to eat too many carbs, which is extremely relatable. I’m particularly keen for the next volume, as Shiro will be meeting Kenji’s family for the first time. Good, as per usual. – Michelle Smith

Note
2 and 3 please for the violence ask game (I like being nosy and the idea of airing out dirty laundry lol)
2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
(I'm taking this with more of a meaning of dominant and submissive role, respectively) I don't have particular headcanons regarding Loid's sexual preferences (other than him being a-spec), though I believe that he's done both as part of his missions, carefully separating his feelings from the activity so that either role wouldn't matter to him.
So I'm going to talk about Killian instead. And I'm full on the "submissive Killian Jones" train. My argument is that he has trauma and issues over loss of control due to growing up in servitude, and allowing his significant other (Emma, or whoever else) to wield some control over him and their sexual relationship helps him come to terms with his fear. To give up control and not only be treated well by his "master", but to also be given care and support and gratification back (and through the whole thing that what happens is the submissive's choice, so he would choose how things would go but would allow his SO to handle things). I don't know if that's healthy, but the opposite (him becoming dominant to deal with his trauma) could be unhealthy and toxic as fuck because he might see it as a way of "avenging" his past self who had no control and no agency. So yeah, for me, I could never see him wielding control in a sexual relationship like that, and giving up control is what would make him feel more free and relaxed.
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
As a rule I hate keeping screenshots because a) no reason to remember stupid shit people have said just to make myself angry, b) people can change and holding them on to ideas for fictional stories they had from years ago is unfair and c) I've seen people get endlessly harassed over silly tumblr fandom takes, so.
But that doesn't mean I don't REMEMBER horrible takes. Ethan Winters from Resident Evil being a bigot for some reason. Killian Jones from OUAT only wanting to "get in Emma's pants" (and the painful part about that was HOW MANY PEOPLE just outright believed it, like, tell me you haven't watched his scenes without telling me you haven't watched his scenes). Damian Desmond from SxF "never having been a bully".
Ironically, the worst take I've seen about fictional characters in EVER was on twitter, but I'm not gonna go there cause we know what a cesspit that site is and why the people who make such horrible takes do not survive on tumblr.
But yeah I think the absolute most derailed, most biased take and biggest proof of "I haven't watched the original material" is people saying Heisenberg from Resident Evil wanted to help Ethan. Heisenberg, the guy who forced Ethan to fight his way through a stronghold full of lycans hell-bent on killing him, and then fight through Urias too, apparently wanted to help Ethan and also "cared" for Rose. Because throwing Ethan into another death trap after Ethan refused to let him use Rose however he wanted to is how he showed his compassion!
And I'm not talking about people who recognize the difference between canon and fanon. I'm talking people who legit think Heisenberg would be a better romantic partner for Ethan than Mia. They're like "I can excuse using people as objects and leading them into death traps and ignoring their wish to protect their child but I draw the line at lying to your spouse about being a bioterrorist".
And there are people who legit believe that! There are people who are down to fight for Heisenberg's honour and it's the biggest proof that they completely skip the Stronghold part of the game (and most of the factory, I guess, aside from the moments Heisenberg has his monologues through the megaphones). Because I cannot believe watching an entire playthrough or playing through the entire game, with a moderate amount of reading/watching comprehension skills and reach the conclusion that Heisenberg was only "helping" Ethan and that Ethan was wrong to refuse him and kill him. Again, fanon content is different and I respect whatever people want to create. But when it comes to canon interpretations, I do believe that it's the worst, least informed and most biased take I've seen in my years in fandoms.

If your characters were real and got to meet them, what would you ask them or talk about? And I mean ask them a question that you yourself wouldn’t know about them, just to clarify.
Very interesting question - and fun, too. Thank you! I had to spend some time to think what to answer.
Meeting characters and asking them questions which I do not know about them is already the way how I work with the characters. Often they do, however, introduce things to me or make decisions on their own. Sometimes they refuse to answer or they don’t have an answer for something related to them either. They are very humane in the end!
IRENE From Irene I’d want to ask about her family. She has been very reluctant about it, perhaps because it might not add anything to FUZZY as a story. Also, how did she end up being a seer and did she work somewhere else before seer’s work.
CANDY From Candy I’d want to know does she indeed have a girlfriend like I feel she’d have.
FUZZY For Fuzzy, I’d ask him to draw how Lempos really look like. Non-Lempos can see only a figure which does not reflect light, but Lempos see each other as they really are. Id want to know are they colored, do they have fur decorations etc. Also, Lempo horns are different. Is there a certain pattern to them or do they inherit horn shape genetically, like we do with hair and eye color.
LOID I’d ask Loid to tell me more about his corrupted jewelry and the multiple eyes which randomly appear on his body and jacket. I also do not know precisely what happened to Loid when he ran away from his home village. Or why he named himself Loid.  I also want to know about his travels to other dimensions and places.
A OR R A or R has a female cousin from his Japanese father’s side, who is learning to become a demon hunter in Japan. However, demon hunting and protection against monsters runs on A or R’s Scottish maternal family line. His father seems to be just a regular business man, perhaps working in accounting. So why there is a future demon hunter on A or R’s father’s side? Why and how did she end up to this field? Overall, I’d like to know more about this cousin. I have a feeling they are close to one another with A or R.
MISERY Misery definitely needs to introduce his partner Savu to me! I want to see him!
CHAOS For Chaos, I’d ask any wisdom he has to share with me. He seems very brotherly/fatherly figure with a tendency to look after others.
FATHER FURMANN Furmann has a past before he became a priest. He has not wanted to talk about it, though I have a small hint what it could be. Id ask him to tell me about it, as it would be really helpful for the story! (I know he will, when the time is right. He is a lot more patient than I am.)
ILTA I’s want Ilta to tell me more about this person who was killed by religious people in the 17th century because of Ilta. She has not wanted to talk much about this person. Apparently it is too painful to her...
NYRKES Nyrkes should share with me some philosophies and religious concepts, and tell me how does he choose the people he possesses as a demon - and why did he go after Eva the first place.
EVA I have no idea how Nyrkes and Eva met, though I think it might have been because Eva did some mischievous things, which gained Nyrkes’s attention.  I’d like to know more about how they ended up being a couple.
OSWALD Oswald is just a few weeks old while I write this, so many things are new for me about him. I think right now I’m most curious to know how he met Ilta and how he ended up serving her. Is there really a master/servant placement there so that Ilta is indeed higher in status, or did Oswald just decide to treat her like a proper aristocratic lady.
HIISI I’d want Hiisi to tell me about his deceased family, and does he have a favorite coffee brand.
SUZIE Suzie does not speak but screams at flowers. Id like to know what are her favorite flowers to scream at (somehow I get a feeling they are Father Furmann’s tattooed flowers, especially the cherry flowers on his left shoulder).

Do you ever have the problem of trying to write a fanfic and have this whole plot planned out but the characters in your head seem to take over and the story goes entirely different? Do you go with it or scrap it out to avoid it?
YES, ALWAYS. 90% of the time or so the plot lives constantly and the characters come up with things on their own. I just try to follow them and see how the new turns fit in the previous chapters, which requires that I write multiple chapters beforehand so that I can edit them in peace before updating. I never know what happens next to be honest!Same happens with my original fiction. Like, when the antagonist Loid saved the protagonist Elena and told to her bodyguard that he saved her because she reminded Loid of someone, that was a completely new info for me. Of course I wanted to figure out who Elena does remind him of. I tried to plan things, come up with good explanation for this, but nothing worked. I gave up.Then, a year later, this other day at 5 am when I was in bed already, Loid started to tell the story regarding this incident and his past I had no idea of. I had to get up from bed and sit down to write for almost 2 hours - everything that came through was completely new info for me. I was thrilled!I think I don’t… that I don’t really plan stories or create them. I sort of “channel” them. Like you know, you see or hear sometimes artists (writers, poetics, singers, painters, ect.) saying that “This specific piece I made was not made by me, but it was given to me. I feel like someone else did it”. For example Inoue Takehiko, manga artist, says in his Last Manga Exhibition book that he can’t take credit for half of his exhibition paintings, because he didn’t create them. They just came to him; he took a brush, started painting and then there was a finished painting that had basically popped out from the brush on its own. Billy Idol says in his memoirs that he suddenly came up with his first hit song “Dancing with Myself” and when the had finished with the song he listened it through and simply knew he hadn’t done that himself; that it had been given to him by some greater power and he knew this song was something very different. That’s what happens with me when I write. Often with drawings, too. Majority of the time when I start to draw I have no idea what I’m drawing, but it comes out on its own.So, I don’t resist this creative flow but go for it. I must say the results are a lot better when I let things flow freely instead of trying to fit them into this specific mold I have in my head. With The Loveless Prince I thought about writing sort of a “behind the scenes”-thing to the last chapter about the things which I planned and what happened in the end. I think it would be wonderful also for myself :3
