Honestly I think it’s pretty clear these are the first in this project. Even while typing this I am fighting every urge to COMPLETELY re-design them. (Pearl looks like a clown for some reason?? It’s those eye spots…)

But this is practice. The point is to learn as I go on with the project. And I def learned a lot.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1

The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.

So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.

So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.

Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.

And the probe is working again.

From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

Hello everyone! Art time, plus a poll :).

I wanted to practice making more complicated WOF designs and accessories on my dragon characters so I came up with an idea.

There’s are actually a bunch of originally non-WOF ocs I’ve been meaning to make a family tree for. But I hit them with the WOF beam so I could combine my two projects.

So I’m gonna do a full design for these guys, hopefully each of them… because that way I can practice my complicated design ideas without having to ever draw the characters again since these guys already have their own story and I will probably never post about them again after this lol. Easier for me that way.

But which ones am I gonna draw first… well I’ll let you decide that. I’m gonna put it to a poll so that way I can actually pressure myself into finishing this higher effort project.

haven't drawn any of these guys in a while

been thinking about this more and there's one big problem. you can keep crickets for meat, aphids for honeydew, moths for silk, but what for hide or leather? and bone? chitin would make good armor but could it make good weapons and instruments like bone can? i mean yeah they can get bone from each other but do you really want to turn grandma into a flute wait nevermind that's awesome actually that's part of the lore now

animals all have human level intelligence in my world, so it wouldn't make sense for them to herd sheep and cows or have dogs and cats for pets. so what if insects filled those roles? that opens the door to so many cool concepts. huge fluffy moths kept for their silk, mantises as livestock guardians, cricket coops instead of chicken coops, beetle species being bred for the brightest colors and shiniest shells to compete in beetle shows, tarantulas as beasts of burden, dragonflies as aerial mounts. honestly just scale them up and bugs can do anything

i went to my sister's concert today (she's a music student) and one of the pieces she played was by another student. at the very end there was a melody that sounded like the main melody of ori and the blind forest but a little to the left. after it was over i had my sister ask that student about it and it turns out he did take direct inspiration from that game's ost. i was RIGHT
