(1) Fastpassers are also probably mad bc when smythe post fastpass title on twitter(which was heathers musical song ripoff) everyone was so hyped up and excided, they thought this gonna be about "Underqold badass queen Persephone " or something with her trail or something big with her, but no, they got Minthe flashback that didnt change anything in the story

(2) Fastpassers are annoyed bc this episode was flashback of Minthe. Two previous fastpasses got pretty big(and stupid) revals(leto is bad guy,apollo and artemis may be zeus child and last but not least Cronus awakening) so they were hopping for something more not a filler wpisode that changes nothing in to the story bc there were wpisodes that make Minthe more "symphatetic" than this one.

(3) Am i the only one a bit concerned that a Minthe episode made LO fans demand their money back but apparently episodes and a planned redemption over Apollo, who R*PED the main character, was met with fans sympathizing with him and feeling bad for judging him "too soon"?  They can accept a sexual assaulter having mommy issues to excuse his bad actions, but a boring filter episode about Minthe, who we know will be killed by the end anyway, gets outrage? That doesn't sit well with me.

(4) oh my god the LO fans hated the minthe fast pass so much they actually made LO's rating start to go down 😭 most of us here dont even like the comic but none of us would purposely review bomb it over a boring episode over a character we didnt like, thats so entitled!

(5) Adding on to the recent fastpass, it was extremely boring. I get that you can't please everyone but the fact that Minthe is having a backstory now just feels like filler.

This is the main issue I have with Rachel's story, she has so many characters but chooses to develop them at the worst times. If we got this backstory earlier in season 2, this would make sense. However, the fp before this one ended on a cliffhanger. You'd think it'd continue but no, we just get Minthe backstory.

I'd rather see an Apollo backstory, he's an active villain and would be interesting to see his motive.

Minthe doesn't have a compelling motive other than jealousy.

(6) I can't be the only one who thinks the new hairstyle updates for characters like Apollo or Eros look weird right? Eros literally looks like an adult version of one of his siblings Storge (who has curly permed hair and was holding a hamster)

(7) That Lo eros panel ... oof. Wheres his hairline going? He had a damn 7 head. Also at least for awhile the men had a different face from the women, but I guess they’re also women now, facial features wise?

(10) This is something i see so much but LO especially but why do all of them have boring ancient clothes? It's always white or tan sheets or maybe black if it's someone in the Underworld. I'm going more off ancient images but shouldn't the gods especially have more grand and detailed clothing options? i get it's probably harder to design based off colorful skin tones but it's not impossible. it just seems so much of the comic design feels very flat, so if the story can't hold up then the art should.

(11)  The main problem I had before with lore olympus was its cliffhanger syndrome. Like, why do some many chapters leave on a cliffhanger and for no reason at all? Like when Hera got hit and nothing happened. When I was experiencing the episodes coming out in real time, it drove me mad.

It's gotten better recently but that's probably because the three recent episodes (fastpass) felt more like filler.

That's the main reason why I feel like the plot is being dragged out. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for cute character moments and creators getting money but, LO is slowly becoming less and less interesting. I literally skipped around in most of the fasspasses because it really wasn't interesting. The only thing memorable about all of the fp episodes is the beginning and end, the middle is just kinda there.

(13) Wtf is happening in lore olympus?! Now they want to bring cronus back and do another war?!? Are they crazy nothing like this didnt happen in mythology and obviously not bc of persephone(in comic her pink tree in underwold will give crounus power and life). It supposed to be romance not whatever fuck this is now.

(14) I feel like if I was at Henson Co. or Webtoons with a tv deal on the line, I would make Smythe to hand writing duties to a pro or take a hiatus seriously plan everything out, because all these new plots are distracting from what people signed up for, which is to see HxP get together and the myth. It seems like filter seeing as any TV adaption wouldn't cover most of it anyway, so why even include it? If RS wants it over sooner than later, this isn't how you do it, she's just procrastinating now.

(15) I find Demeter in LO just confusing. If she’s so overbearing and controlling, why would she ever allow Persephone out of their domain to live with Artemis in the city? Even the most liberally easy going parents don’t let their naive children out into the world like that with people they barely know, yet the supposed helicopter parent does. Why not literally literally lock her up? Especially when Persephone can’t control her powers and is desperate to hide that she killed a village of people? Demeter knows she’s a danger to others yet let her out anyway? That doesn’t sounding overbearing to me. It sounds like she’s right to want to hide her away. Persephone is a bigger threat to everyone else than they are to her. More so, actual controlling parents do give their children phones to keep easy tabs on them, yet LO Demeter doesn’t? She could constantly call Persephone or check up on her without physically needing to be there, yet they don’t do that. What modern parent would let their child leave home without a way to contact them? If anything, she’s extremely loose on parenting her and lets Persephone do/have whatever she wants. The controlling helicopter parent premise too is undercut by the fact LO Demeter ends up being right in wanting to hide her daughter away because within a month of leaving home Persephone is drugged, kidnapped, threatened by several people, r*ped, blackmailed, is close to dropping out of school, attacked by shades, and had a mental/emotional breakdown, many of those things being linked to her future “caring” husband. I just don’t buy it. Demeter ends up looking correct by anyone who isn’t blinded by the rose colored glasses of HxP.

General Randomness What's the weather like right now? It’s very bright and sunny out, but January is typically one of the colder days of the year so I’m not feeling uncomfortable right now. A Ferret may be Involved Fandom: Code Lyoko Pairing: Ulumi Summary: Yumi gets saddled with being DD for Odd’s birthday festivities. She does learn some interesting things. AN: Part of my Spooky Snippets story dump. For more details please see this post.

She kept telling herself to think of Odd. It was his birthday and he said all he had wanted was for them to all go out drinking together. Only problem? Being college students left all of them a little lacking in funds for public transport. As such, they decided that two people would be the designated drivers to get everyone home safe and sound. Jeremy had volunteered – and done a good job of ignoring Odd’s goading of “prude” when he did – and the others had drawn straws to decide.

It was just her luck that she was the one that drew the shortest straw.

On the plus side, she got all the soda and water she wanted for free at the bar in exchange for her position as DD. She kept trying to look at silver linings and focus on having a nice time. The club was playing great music, and everyone was having fun dancing and milling about, but still she felt her mind bogged down by other things. Originally Ulrich had offered to swap her responsibilities, but she had insisted against it, not wanting to spoil his chance to unwind.

Something she had started to second guess with how he was mowing down shots.

She wasn’t exactly sure what had transpired between Ulrich and his father a few hours earlier but she knew it had not been pretty. She and Ulrich had moved into a one bedroom apartment together about two months ago and were settling into it pretty well. The only big issue Yumi had was how thin the walls were and how, even if he went out on the patio or another room, she could unintentionally hear every word he said to his father when they talked. Normally she would just pop in her headphones and tune them out that way; despite how Ulrich would normally go to her to talk after the fights, she still wanted to try and give him some semblance of privacy when it was actually happening. This fight had been louder than usual and he stayed out there an extra fifteen minutes after the call ended. He reeked of cigarette smoke when he came back in but she didn’t have the heart to call him out on it.

She sipped on her second soda for the night as she watched Ulrich do another shot with Odd – something called a “Cock and Balls”, from what she overheard Odd chattering about excitedly – and tried to remember if it was his fifth or sixth shot. Or maybe it was his seventh or eighth? She hadn’t been watching the whole time so him sneaking another shot or two in seemed plausible. She blew into her straw, glaring at the bubbles that came up in retaliation. ‘Honestly, Ulrich,’ She thought, though there was more concern to the sentiment than irritation.

“Hey there,” A voice mused, causing her to swivel around to face another patron of the bar. He seemed to be a little older than her – probably 25 or 26, if she was to venture a guess – and he was clearly a man with a goal. His dark hair was slicked back with something that made it look a little too crunchy for her taste and his eyes were a deep blue that was accented well by the cobalt button-up he was wearing. She could also smell beer on his breath, but he didn’t seem completely sloshed yet. “Can I buy you a drink?”

She smiled at him, trying to seem politely uninterested, and shook her head. “No, thank you. I’m actually the designated,” She said, holding up her drink and giving it a little shake so that the ice cubes rattled lightly against the glass.

He hoisted himself into the bar stool beside her in one fluid move and waved the tender over. He ordered himself something off the tap and turned back to her. “So you’re the responsible type, eh?”

“No, I’m just the unlucky type that drew the shortest straw,” She said, turning in her seat to look for Ulrich again. She had the feeling that he was probably pushing at his limit and the last thing she wanted to deal with in the morning was him with a massive hangover. Much to her surprise, she caught him heading over toward her, a goofy grin on his face. ‘Oh, yeah, he definitely had a shot when I wasn’t looking.’ She thought, responding to his enthusiastic wave with a meeker one of her own.

The guy noticed her gaze shift and quirked an eyebrow. “Is that one of your friends or something?” He asks evenly.

Yumi glanced at him through the corner of her eye, opening her mouth to respond, but Ulrich was already upon them. “Yumi, I’ve been looking everywhere for you! Where were you?” His speech wasn’t completely incomprehensible – only the words he was trying to enunciate were slurring along, which she took as a good sign – but he was past his usual point of a cheery buzz.

Out of all of their friends, Ulrich being a happy drunk had probably been the one they were expecting the least. Odd being happy and even more obnoxious than usual, cranking up his hype levels from the usual seven to a hard 22? That was just an expectation they had all held, honestly. Jeremy being a sappy, crying drunk had been less predictable but also seemed to make sense. Even Yumi, whom tended to be a somewhat temperamental drunk – flipping the switch from jolly to furious quicker than when sober – could be pretty easily determined. William was a relaxed, lazy drunk and that had come as a bit off-putting but not necessarily shocking. After Ulrich the only other anomaly would probably be Aelita, the sweet little princess they had all spent years trying to protect and support. That girl was a terror when she got too much liquor in her; one incident, for example, ending with her getting permanently banned from one of the clubs down by the college they attended.

And while a happy Ulrich was always a good thing in Yumi’s eyes, she didn’t really like that it was a synthetic kind of joy.

But even still she plastered on a smile for him. “I went and danced for a bit but I’ve been here most of the night,” She said evenly. Ulrich nodded quickly at the explanation but the gesture slowed the longer he did it. “Don’t do that; you’ll make yourself dizzy.” She chided, setting a hand on his shoulder to try and get him to focus on her.

“I wanna do a cartwheel,” He said abruptly, eyes lighting up with child-like wonder at the thought.

She squeezed his shoulder again in hopes that it would get him to focus on her, maybe clear his mind a little. “Ulrich, no. No cartwheels in here; it’s not a good idea,”

He somehow managed a pout. “But I want to!”

“Not here or now, okay?”

“No! Think of the fun doing cartwheels is!”

“No,”

“But Yumi!”

“No buts, Ulrich!”

“I happen to like butts!”

The stranger started snickering at this, earning Yumi’s attention. Ulrich’s head swiveled around to follow Yumi’s gaze, eyes foggy and unfocused. “Geez, he’s hilarious! I can see why you’d want to be the DD with a guy like this around!”

“As if you’re any better when you’ve had as much as him!” She barked at the stranger, instinctively becoming defensive. Even if Ulrich wasn’t sober enough to know this guy was being a condescending asshole, Yumi wasn’t going to let him get away with it. Ulrich shifted slightly, swaying a bit on his feet, and she turned to look at him.

His nose was scrunched up like he’d caught a whiff of something foul, eyes on the other patron, bemusement coloring his features. Yumi couldn’t tell if he was focused on him or not, or if he was just becoming aware of his presence. “Whozat?” He asked, looking between Yumi and the other male with innocent curiosity; a bit jarring, since Ulrich’s usual response was to get snippy out of jealousy.

“Just a fellow bar patron,” The guy said with a small snicker, taking a swig from his drink. Yumi wanted nothing more than to punch that smug grin right off his face. “So, I take it your name’s Ulrich?”

“Uh-huh!” He agreed enthusiastically, slipping into the seat on Yumi’s other side. He wobbled slightly – Yumi preparing to catch his weight – but righted himself pretty quickly. “What about you?” He asked, pointing at the guy while flopping over to lean his upper half against the bar top.

“Clyde. So, Ulrich, what are you doing here tonight?” He asked back, still wearing that stupid smug grin and ignoring the irate look the bartender sent their way as he watched one of Ulrich’s hands flap about in the air just within the limits of becoming invasive.

The two of them started chatting casually after this, much to Yumi’s chagrin. She planned to derail the conversation and insist on returning to the dance floor – and taking Ulrich out with her, lack of coordination be damned – but then Clyde got Ulrich to admit that he would rather be a writer than study business in college. Yumi had been well aware that business was not what Ulrich wanted to study, but rather had been pushed into it by his parents. They had simply told Ulrich he either played by their rules or he’d lose their support to get his tuition and books paid for. She never pressed the matter with him because she knew it was a very tender subject for him.

Seemed that alcohol not only made him more chipper than usual, but also broke down his emotional barriers.

She knew she really shouldn’t take advantage of the situation, but she held off on shutting things down. Not just because she wanted to hear what else Ulrich would admit, but more due to the fact that when Clyde asked about what kind of books he’d like to write, her boyfriend lit up like a Christmas tree. His eyes became so bright and thrilled that someone would be interested that it made her ache a little. It made her wonder if maybe she should have pressed him to talk, so that he could open up to her like this. He first rambled about one he wanted to write about a zombie prostitute that was working the street to put her son – who was also a zombie – through college so he could become a brain surgeon.

His grin had widened when both Yumi and Clyde had chuckled at the idea. Yumi found herself more grateful since that proved it was his true intent.

He talked about two others – one being about a fairy whom is saved by a human and, in return, agrees to help him get his life going on the track he wants using her magic; the other about a small squad of criminals turned mercenaries that help the government take out any rebellion groups that start to crop up in the underground – before Clyde seemed to focus back on what he was really interested in. He gestured to both of them before asking, “So, what about you two? Are you guys an item or just good friends?”

Just as Yumi snapped “None of your business,” Ulrich chirped, “She’s my lady friend.”

“Is she then?” The guy asked, smirk growing wider.

“Yeah, I’m pretty lucky,”

“Ulrich, how about I get you a glass of water?” She offered quickly, picking up on how his words were getting more slurred. He had probably done a couple shots in quick succession when she’d stepped away to the restroom a few minutes prior – pushing himself just past his usual threshold – and they had finally started to catch up to him.

“He’s fine, don’t worry about it! So how lucky are you, Ulrich?” Clyde pressed lightly, waving Yumi off like she was a child. She stole a quick look at her glass, wondering how much trouble she’d get in if she just smashed it against the guy’s head.

“Really lucky! Yumi’s literally the best!”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah! She’s really smart and really strong and really nice once you get to know her. She’s kinda stand-offish at first but she’s really sweet under that, kinda like chocolates with caramel inside. Have you ever had those? Those are probably my favorite,”

Yumi could feel her face heating up at Ulrich’s words. The honesty that seemed to come with his chipper attitude had quickly started to work against them. She motioned the bartender over and asked for water, turning to tell him to ignore Clyde’s questions. “You seem nice enough. Why do you think you’re lucky to have her?” The guy chimed before she could.

“Well, because she’s too good for me. I mean, I’m a stupid mess. All I really have is that apparently I’m hot, but I dunno. I’m in college but I don’t like my major because I don’t know what I want to do but I gotta go into business. My parents just kinda forced me into it. Also my parents even like her better, I think, since she’s got plans and aspirations and stuff!”

She turned to stare at Ulrich, the blush that had tinted her cheeks from the compliments fading at the self-deprecating remarks. He smiled, all earnest and sweet and a little off-kilter because of the booze, and looked at her, head slowly tilting like a confused puppy. The smile fell as he took in the look on her face, brows knitting quickly in concern. “D-Did I say something wrong?” He stammered out, starting to sway a bit. The drinks had started to really catch up to him at this point.

“No,” She said but she seemed to have been too sharp on her reply, what with the wounded look that crossed Ulrich’s face. She grabbed his arm and headed toward the exit, pulling him off the stool and fishing her phone out as they went. She ignored the calls to come back from both the bartender holding up the glass of water and the asshole at the bar. Thankfully years of dealing with XANA attacks had given her the ability to text with one hand. “Hey, Jer, let Odd know we’re sorry to cut so soon, but I need to get Ulrich home before he does any more shots.”

Jeremy texted back just as she and Ulrich stepped out into the cool, crisp evening air. “Odd has his tongue down some red-heads throat so I doubt you’ll be missed, but thanks for the heads up,” It read. She chuckled a bit at the message and returned her phone to her purse, trading it for her keys.

She paused in the task when she felt arms wrap around her shoulders, a face pressing lightly against the side of hers, and the warmth of another form against her back. A small smile wormed its way up on her lips. “What are you doing, Ulrich?” She asked softly.

“S’cold. I’m your scarf,” He mumbled back quietly. She reached up and gently stroked the other side of his face, peering at him as best she could through her peripheral vision. “I’m sorry.”

“Hm? What are you sorry for?”

“I embarrassed you back there and made you have a bad time,” He sounded so much like a child apologizing for sneaking a cookie when no one was looking. Ulrich was typically guarded with his emotions and his thoughts, though now a days he at least understood that he could share some of it with her. Especially if they wanted their relationship to be more than just the senseless shouting matches they were known to have as children, back when they carried the weight of their individual lives and the world on their shoulders.

“Ulrich,” She said patiently, “no, you didn’t. I liked your compliments but I didn’t like what you said about yourself. But we’ll talk about that tomorrow, when you’re not so loopy. Okay?”

He hummed in agreement but didn’t elaborate a response more than that. She shifted, starting the trek toward the parking lot across the street that they’d had to use. He followed after her, his steps sloppy and slow. She decided against commenting on it and didn’t let it bother her too much. The morning would be unpleasant, she knew. He would be ill and have a headache and be generally miserable; it would be a crap-shoot as to whether he’d recall everything that had been said at the bar, though. Part of her hoped he remembered so that they could actually talk about everything – the stories he wanted to tell and the negative feelings he’d expressed - but part of her hoped he didn’t. Part of her didn’t want to press him on the subject of his own feelings of inadequacy and how much he hurt because of his parents. For now, she would focus on getting him to chug three glasses of water and brush his teeth, to help with the aches some and keep him from having whiskey breath in the morning, and get him to bed. She would take the more serious conversations in stride once the morning hit.

“We should get a ferret,”

And, if he was sincere about getting a ferret, they would talk about that too, she supposed.

27:   Meaning behind my URL: I have used this url for soooooo many years now, it is basically my signature username. I came up with this in,,,a round fourth grade time, and that was when i was really noticing my connection to mother nature and i was the weird kid and so ‘different’ stood out to me, (”different” being a good connotation and “strange” being the opposing) and ‘dove’ was a nice word, showing a bit of religion and peace and so i feel they fit together very nicely! It also turned out for Morning Dove to be my first larger role, and my ancients gave me this bag of random jewlery from all over and it had a beautiful handmade dove in it with beads.
