Merry Christmas :DD

Merry Christmas friends! Sorry (again) for the impromptu hiatus. I've been busy with so many big assignments and exams.

Not a lot of progress has been made since I last updated (I'm a little mad at myself for this). I was able to write and sketch some of the interactions but it's still not much for two months. I'm getting back on the grind and hopefully I'll be able to finish the CGs and GUI off so I can focus on sprites and writing. I'm not sure when all this would be finished, at the rate my school is pumping out events and assignments January might even be a stretch. I'll try my best to manage all this and keep you updated.

I can't stress how grateful I am that some of you are sticking around despite the constant disappearances. I really do hope that Heartbeats will be worth all the wait and support :>

22 MAY 2023 || RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2023

The Princess of Wales attended the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show preview day to host a special picnic for schoolchildren and encourage budding interests in gardening and the outdoors.

Catherine was joined by children from a number of schools who were participating in the RHS Campaign for Schools Gardening.

The campaign has one core mission: to give children and young people the opportunity to grow and connect with nature. By partnering with schools, educators and youth group leaders, their aim is for as many children as possible to enjoy nature whilst learning about caring for plants. To encourage participation, a range of awards can be achieved.

Following a picnic lunch with the kids under a Chestnut Tree, Catherine spent time at the Samaritans Listening Garden which has been created as a safe space for people to share their struggles.

She also visited Mark Gregory's Savills Garden and spent time chatting with a group of Chelsea Pensioners.

Thursday morning we drove through a spring nor’easter, one of the worst we’ve had all year, to get to the bus station to take the bus to the airport. White-knuckled through the driving, but the bus ride was great. Airport was fine, boarded the plane a little late due to the weather, but still no reason to fret.

TWO AND A HALF HOURS later, due to reasons that had nothing to do with the weather, we finally took off. In the back half of the plane were a large group of the most obnoxious teenagers and useless chaperones I have ever come across—and I generally have a pretty high tolerance for teenage nonsense, because I remember being a teen pretty well, plus I actually like teens. So. Late plane, rude passengers. Red-eye flight. Not much sleep due to teenagers being loud and obnoxious in the back. We finally get to London and have to circle for half an hour before we can land. Our 6-hour flight has now turned into 10.

Joy and my parents make it through the automated passport check just fine. Grace, Carl and I get error messages and have to do it in person. There is only one official at the desk and she is haranguing a family with very little English language skills entering the UK on holiday—from Boston—for not having visas. (????? That’s not how this works) She is so busy being nasty to them that the line piles up behind. The guy behind us in line pulls out his phone and calls his doctor’s office to tell them in despair he’s not going to be able to make his appointment. Finally we’re routed to a different official, who is sweet and kind and passes us through no problem.

There are various other mishaps, including the SIM card we got for my phone only being able to receive texts or calls but not send them, and Carl and Mom and Joy getting separated from Dad, Grace and me and me not being able to call Carl, BUT

24 hours since we drove away from our house in the middle of a blizzard, we are settled into our Airbnb outside Cambridge and our grand three-generational England adventure has officially begun.

Overwhelmed by nostalgia actually

#this will sound SO elitist of me #but #i miss my summer course at the boarding school that was closed after the summer and they carved out an artificial lake on the manor grounds #and converted the cozy two-person dorm rooms to have bunk beds to fit six to eight kids #apparently they also 'refurbished' a historic building on the site :(#i mean i'm glad someone is taking care of the site - it's so beautiful #but i miss the way it was soooo much and there's no way to go to that place again except in memories #and then !! sequel - cambridge 2019 #granted it would probably be much the same as a town if i went in summer again but it really was when i learned how much i love university #but yeah deeply sad and insane about [redacted] manor i miss it sooooo much #one of my teachers actually really liked me and wanted to seriously talk about me studying there full time oabdlskdödldöfo #obviously it was never going to happen because who pays english boarding fees when you can study 100% for free at home #but what if in an alternate universe i did study there #idk i don't feel that sad about THAT missed chance #mostly because i'm legit replicating it w my master's #but i do wonder if i'm going to spend the rest of my life chasing similar places and the way i felt that summer when i was 15 🥹#if you send me a dm and we're friends etc i will show you pictures of the manor because it looks amazing
