In the mighty nein, when the party finally reunites Nott with Yeza, and begins to try to warn Yeza ahead of time about her new appearence, she asks Jester to help if Yeza is he gets too upset. To which Jester responds by warning Yeza that she will cut him if he is upset.

The players laugh, and Sam is quick to say "I meant like restrain. He is my husband after all". to which Laura doubles down by having Jester tell Yeza to "not hurt her friend".

And I think that is an underappreciated bit of the Jester/Nott dynamic, that Jester is already prepared for the worst. And that no matter who Yeza is or what Nott thinks, she knows that it won't be Nott's fault if things go poorly.

what the FUCK none of you WARNED ME how fast essek just goes ALL IN with the flirting and the charm from MOMENT FUCKING ONE. He really says “look at that cute wizard who brought back our sacred magical artifact. Time to be SO suave and just casually drop how cool and special and powerful I am. Show off the powerful magics of our city while we’re on the way to free his friend’s husband. Throw in some significant looks and knowing smiles. See where the eternal magical night takes us.”

Essek, internally:

I love the conversation between Beau and Caleb at the end of “In Love and War” so much.

Caleb, begging Beau to be his friend, even this far in the campaign, struggling to really process that the others already care very deeply for him. And still mostly functioning in a transactional matter because he has for so long. (Side note, the transactional way he tended/s to approach relationship translates to gift giving love language)

And Beau just doing her hardest to really convince him of that and calling him out that his problem is that he doesn’t trust himself. 

Also autism playing a role, Caleb struggling to read the others beyond their surface behavior. Certainly my headcanon anyway

And then Beau just hugging him when he demurs himself for taking up her time
