"Hi." She was wearing an old hairstyle. Only fitting considering it was hair day. The face was different for the bowties and pigtails but, it was her old hairbox. A hairbox she thought was long lost during the Dark Times. Before this, before having this face.

Can have the face forever but, her hair routine hadn't really changed since then despite the evident decrease in hair type. Guess her hair never forgot their real roots.

The Vigilante was worried. Still worried. She wasn't good at fretting. Rather shite at it, she would say. It was the leaving messages bit that always tripped her up. She could text and keep her side filled, but voice mail was her foil. She had already felt she fucked up - on what or where, she hadn't known which bit to start - with him. With what she said.

She hadn't worried before - it was reassuring the last times. Key word: times. At least there was a location to investigate, but this time? Genuinely, she was scared. Devastated, sad, but really scared. For all she knew, that message could be put in a cube and float there for anybody to find it. As some joke and with her none the wiser.

Still, her pacing for almost eight hours straight was enough to raise any concern.

im a little sad at the lack of 13th dr episode target novels were made. And thats really just bbc and chibnall's fault really. because the correlation of dr popularity and excitement of said dr is intricately interwined with the books version of events. like we dont have one for any of em except witchfinders and kerblam. like the only context we have of 13 x yasmin is comics and anthology stories and lines that are thrown out there

or hell give us more 13 x martha comics. i mean you brought mickey back who is dressed post end of time pt 2 (and weirdly drawn with the reference of ice cube from are there yet 2 of all ppl) for ninth dr, why not bring martha and draw martha more. save us from the fumble yall did when yall whitewashed yaz.... never fucking again ugh. but anyway....

do you know how many poc versions of canon or oc related muses i have seen jumped so many new refurbished accounts that they just straight up deactivated due to the lack of attention? lack of interest? not so much a peep or whisper but the second u put up a billie or david suddenly they appear in troves. so in case ur wondering: yes all of them are poc - @themadvigilantist and @thebadtimewolf were supposed to black.

It shows that you are better off watching grass grow and licking plaster off walls.

The Vigilante had nearly-dried blood on her hands but, the tunnel vision was still present by the thousand yard stare along her face. She hadn't shown that side to him before - off the cuff mentions here and there but, this was different. He was there. He saw it. What she had done.

And he didn't run.

She tore the lot apart - unknown blood and now husks of possibly human or human-presenting bodies, shells of cybermen and daleks alike littered the halls. She hadn't heard pleas of mercy, panic, fright - they all got silenced.

All she saw was the war cramped into a place she felt she couldn't even breathe and the noise and suddenly - she was standing in front of him.

The Vigilante didn't know just how severe the damage she had done, but there were no explosions. She knew she had closed her eyes. She knew her mid-forearm to her hands buzzed in pain. She knew that when she usually blocked something out, it was because it wasn't her usual way of dispatching the threat yet rather from the dark ages. Far far into her youth. Before the academy - no, before "transferring" to the academy.

But, his kiss helped her breathe. Slowed her hearts. It ebbed the pain in her fingers, knowing now she fought like her mother, clawing through with brute strength and measured weight instead of what was shown. All this time, her mother’s training still overrode Rassilion and the council's initiation process.

It took a while for her to speak and when she did, her voice was low, different but still had traces of her scottish lilt. "Why haven't you run? You always run..."
