I am so curious about what is going through Cazador mind when the subject is Tyrus, cause wtf.
My theory is that friend his old master killed and then impaled Cazador for 11 years
Like, he's living viciously through Tyrus the fantasy that ok,maybe his friend wasn't able to rescue him,but he is alive and support him in this hell making everything a little bit better. But this projection is on a subconscious level.
For a moment due to the interactions with Amanita I thought hmmm Tyrus would be the perfect heir, obedient as fuck and not rebellious, and like he is the most like the other spawn that behaves like the family role that was imposed on him if you understand me? He behaves like a son.But again,Tyrus was made to be consumed.
And what is this family talk? Why is he so insistent on that..To be honest it's totally impractical, in the game until the last moments he was insistent on saying that he and the seven spawns are family , as if two seconds ago he wasn't saying that Astarion was made to be consumed, but ok,and it's not like when he lied saying that the seven would gain ascension out of pure cruelty, it's purely impractical no one believes they are family, there is no psychological horror on their part of torturing a sibling.
I think the motive that Cazador is so adamant of the family business is conected to why he transformed amanita and the way he treats Tyrus, anyway RIP Cazador you would have loved Freud.
But again I am probally wrong as fuck.
~Regarding my fic Perfect Slaughter (Astarion x Tav, Astarion backstory-centric)~
Hi anon!! Thanks so much for this question. Cazador had two very objective, practical reasons for turning Tyrus. One, as we know, was for Tyrus's promising necromantic talents. The second will get revealed at the end of part two!
But he also had a third, more....nebulous reason, and I think your conjecture is right on track. In my opinion, Cazador likes to see himself as a very caring, long-suffering, reasonable master. In comparison to his sire, Cazador would say he is benevolent and merciful. And in my fic at least, Vellioth was confirmed by Amanita as a relative of Cazador's, so his obsession with 'family' and enforcing the idea on his spawn (in a twisted, sick way) stems from his resentment of his actual family treating him so terribly. He's replaying his own trauma to some extent, except 'improving' upon it and being the one with all the power this time. I agree that there's some contradiction to calling his spawn family but also saying they are a consumable means to an end--but honestly I love that Cazador contradicts himself there. It shows just how fucked up his perception of what family is has become. Everything becomes about power and control to an abuser.
The Szarrs seem to turn at least one family member into a vampire per generation (see Amanita's journal about her family rites), so Cazador turning Amanita is the usual order of business. But turning her so young? I think this says a few things: 1) though he upheld family tradition, Cazador still had to have a little extra power over his 'heir,' 2) he found every other option from his family line too threatening, 3) on some level, he is attached to the idea of 'fatherhood' and influencing those he has power over, not just controlling them. Not that Amanita has turned out to be that easy to influence anyway šŸ˜‚
Cazador's feelings about Tyrus are nearly as complicated as they are about Astarion. Tyrus potentially being the 'perfect son' for him is not far off--he's incredibly useful (no matter how Cazador downplays it) and outwardly respectful, he's thoughtful and careful besides being beautiful and young as all Cazador's spawn need to be. Tyrus's only flaw thus far is his weakness for Astarion, which....Cazador can relate to, let's be real lol. And as Tyrus has realized in the recent chapter, Cazador can now use their growing bond to better rein in Astarion and motivate Tyrus to work even harder for him. Unlike Vellioth, Cazador believes love can be useful. I think he'll forever resent his master for killing that friend, you're right, so he's always trying to toe that line: give just the right amount and type of fear and pain into his spawn so that they're easy to control, but not enough to make them angry and dangerous like he became.
Cazador would have felt VERY called out by Freud šŸ˜‚
Thank you for this lovely ask, it was wonderful to write out these thoughts that have been mostly just bouncing around in my skull as I write Cazador in PS! In chapter 16, we'll get a little peek into Cazador's thoughts and motivations too, so watch out for that!
Happy holidays everyone šŸ„°šŸ„°

I would love to know how payu popularity affected saifah growing up and throughout university
If we had a show about saifah I would love to hear about that!
tbh i don't think Saifah cares about Phayu's popularity? he's very assured of himself and in general very grounded. he doesn't seem to hold any resentment for Phayu being more in the spotlight than himself, nor does he seem to hold any desire for that level of attention. and, not to project as a sibling, but i firmly believe Saifah's in the "all of you think my brother's cool, but you've never seen him freak out over hair in the drain or smelled his farts after he had too much dairy" camp. siblings are just not allowed to be cool to you, esp if they're your twin šŸ˜‚
plus, i think Saifah is just straight up happier than Phayu. it's mentioned offhand and then never brought up again, but in episode 2, Saifah and Phayu that have an exchange that goes like "looks like someone's happy" / "not as happy as you" / "get into a serious relationship if you want to be like me"
and then they????? never mention anything about Saifah having a long-term girl/boyfriend for the rest of the show????? rude canon. i actually hadn't noticed this piece of dialogue until the second watch-thru of the show, but Saifah being in a committed relationship (or at least having held several long term ones) was the vibe i got from his character even without noticing that piece of dialogue, so kudos to them for conveying that despite everything? lol. anyways, Saifah doesn't feel the need to talk himself up nor does he hold the same hunger for validation/success that Phayu and Prapai have, and to me it'd read as Saifah just being extremely content with where he's at in life in a way the rest of the cast isn't (at the start at least).
i think Saifah also has a stronger network of people than Phayu does--Phayu is highly admired, but mostly from a distance. a large part of why Phayu even likes Rain is because Rain doesn't give a shit about him being the architecture's department ~model senior~ and interacts with him more or less like he's anyone else. Phayu's genuinely so happy to interact with his juniors when he visits Rain at his university events, but he wilts just a bit any time someone comes on with really strong admiration. there's also a running message that Phayu has a lot of admirers but very few who are willing to stick around when it comes to dating him. Saifah doesn't have the leagues of admirers that his twin does, but he appears to have a lot more people who genuinely like him and are friends with him. hell, i'd argue that Phayu might even be a little envious of Saifah, except we didn't get enough of Saifah or brothers interacting for me to say that's anything besides my own conjecture.
there's another moment i really like with Saifah in episode 3--Saifah talks with Rain and it's...not a shovel talk. but Saifah does poke at Rain (telling him he's not the first, warning him to be prepared to handle Phayu) and feel him out, in a way that almost comes off as him not liking Rain--then Phayu walks in and Saifah gives them some space, with the heads up to Phayu to be nice because Rain's been waiting for him for hours. and that little murmur between the twins means so much to me, because it's Saifah looking out for his big bro šŸ„ŗā¤ he doesn't want Rain to just drop Phayu but he's also playing wingman for his brother, and i weep because it's wonderful and canon didn't give us more.

As someone who grew up on telenovelas, I can think of sooo many more stressful scenarios šŸ˜‚ but Iā€™m here for the ride and your positivity is so refreshing! You made many great points about Carlos that now have me curious to how this will all play out
Thank you! My positivity is fully couched in the fact that I still hate it. Iā€™m calling this storyline Deux Ex Iris. Itā€™s very clear to me that this is Tim Minearā€™s personal headcanon that got cut from season one in the writers room and he wants it so he stuck it in now. Itā€™s bad writing for personal reasons. And anyone who hates it enough to leave fandom, thatā€™s fully within their rights. Everyone gets to feel about this one how they feel. Itā€™s stupid.
But, my positivity comes from my fandom history!
I grew up on soap operas and General Hospital was my first entry into fandom. The choices that were made for characters as the show runners and head writers changed and the way theyā€™d ā€œgo back and film thingsā€ and be like ā€œsurprise, this was happening all alongā€ or ā€œlook, secret murdereā€ there are worse things. And
My second real fandom was HP and in the period of time between Book 4-Book 7. What this lead to was elaborate headcanons and theories of the next book from the fandom based on scant character development that were often torpedoed when a new book came out (and we had years to craft them too). It taught me that no matter what headcanon you as a fan have, no matter how much evidence you have in the text to prove your point, itā€™s bunk because youā€™re not the one writing canon. Also, the creators arenā€™t thinking about the characters the way youā€™re thinking about the
My third fandom was Marvel Comics by way of X-Men Evolution. And many have gotten pissed at me for saying it, but super hero comic books are just soap operas with powers. Again, as the writing team changes, the characters change. As personal ideas of the creators trump actual page canon, things are shoehorned in. Is it occasionally ridiculously stupid? Uh, yeah. Go check out comic tumblrs and the rants go on for days.
So, what this left me with is Carlos as a character has been fairly well developed for a procedural with eleven principal cast members. That doesnā€™t mean heā€™s been particularly well developed (or that any of them have). In fact, the fact that Carlos needs better character development is pretty well known fandom wide. Most of our understanding of Carlos is based on conjecture and fan theory.
We know heā€™s prone to keeping secrets and being evasive about things that bother him. We know heā€™s often not willing to talk about shit until heā€™s cornered. Thatā€™s not out of character.
We as a collective have discussed how painful and awful his coming out was that it lead him to hide for years. Marrying his best friend for his fatherā€™s approval? I could see it. Weā€™ve talked extensively about his need for his parents approval and not to let them down.
There are parts of this that would be better if it had been seeded at ANY part in the story.
And I also hated the idea of half the stuff last season and it was executed really well. Soā€¦šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø Iā€™m willing to wait it out.

hey, i was that anon ages ago about how you inspired me to be less judgy. i've been involving myself more into supporting art/gifs/fics/etc (at any level or stage of creation) as much as i can, and doing my best to be leaving comments on everything i read, or reblog and say smth nice in the tags.
i wanted to say thank YOU, bc i see strength in your kindness and it's helped me practice that kind strength.
i've also been binging the way you write luka. i'm super in love with how you write luka. my favorite parts of how you write him is his internal dialogue, and it helped me get through a long flight to college.
thank you again and i am very sorry if i offended or made you upset like my last ask did (i am not very sure. if it did, my genuine apologies, as i didn't mean it in such a way. i also promise i'm not putting you on a pedestal, as you are human)
Oh my friend I am so sorry if you thought I was offended! That wasn't my intention at all and my inability to take a compliment is not your fault. šŸ˜‚ I'm so grateful for your good opinion and your grace for my less than stellar moments.
It makes me so happy to hear you're putting positivity and support out there! I know it means so much to the people receiving it (including me!). It can really be a challenge especially when your emotional batteries are low, so gold star for stepping out there! āļø I hope it comes back around to you when you need it most.
I'm so glad you like the internal dialogue, I really love getting inside Luka's head and working out how he would react to things, and what we know from canon and what we can conjecture based on that, and exploring all the possibilities. Reasoning out how a person with this list qualities would respond in various situations is one of the really fun parts of fanfic I think.
Good luck with college, friend, I don't know whether you're just starting or if you're in the middle of the whole mess, but when it gets rough remember that it's only one stage of your life! I had a really hard time in college so I always like to put that reminder out there. šŸ˜ It's important but it's NOT all there is to life and you will have many, many more accomplishments, successes, and failures in your life than what those four (or five, or six, or however many it takes) years can hold.
Wishing you strength and endurance for your endeavors, and thank you so much for your kind words. šŸ’œ

Soā€¦word on the AG fandom streets is that Andrewā€™s friend Brantley followed Olivia on IG. Thoughts?
Also, another curveball: In her ā€œcelebrity spottingsā€ posts this past weekend, DeuxMoi received a sighting of Andrew on January 15th, at the Corinthia Hotel in London. He was coming out of an elevator with a blonde. They hugged and parted ways. Some think Olivia was elevator girl, but some fandom sleuths connected dots and concluded that Olivia hasnā€™t been in the UK since her and Andrew were first spotted together. Let me tell you, being in this fandom is a trip sometimes šŸ˜‚
Woah... My thoughts, anon? Let's go!
About Andrew's friend: Andrewā€™s friend following her in the IG, might indicate that they were introduced personally. About sightings: 1- keep stating that she little knows about Andrew, often providing misguideds information; 2- If this sighting in the hotel is real, we have two situations: it may have been, but there is also the possibility that it was not Olivia, because of her posts in the IG story, which has location and does not match location or date. And in the event that it wasnā€™t Olivia, it might indicate that the nature of their relationship isnā€™t that deep, and that he might still be living his fuckboi era. There is also the possibility of being Ellie Matsuura - Andrewā€™s friend, since she is blonde now. Anyway, weā€™re conjecturing it here. Who knows the reality besides them?
And finally, yeeeeeees, I know that Andrewā€™s fandom can sometimes freak out and make trips worthy of acid use. I walk around social networking sites, and those who chronically inhabit Twitter, sometimes scare me, of so weird that they can be - just see the great delusion around the daddy bracelet, where they even conjectured about Olivia being pregnant with him. And at this point in my life, I donā€™t scare easily for any reason. So, makes it easy to understand why he keeps his accounts on private social networks.
Thank you, dear šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Guarantee you that every single person clutching their pearls over a slap that didn't even stagger a much smaller man than the one who distributed it are the same brainless nematodes preaching "learn to take a joke!" or "people are too sensitive!" or "he's a comedian, it's his job!"
Yall are hilarious and have no earthly perception of your own irony. Some of us are here just to suffer, while others are clearly here just to blow smoke up everyone's ass. šŸ˜‚
Do I personally think Will should have slapped Chris? Objectively, no. But as a disabled person who's been through the social meat grinder, I'm delighted he did. As someone with no tolerance left for assholes who make careers off hurting others, it's about damn time. A slap was kinder than what was deserved. I won't touch on how disrespectful the remarks were to the cultural struggles of Black women too, because that's not my stage, but I will do my part in ensuring you listen to them when they speak.
Anyways, all you terminally online diaper babies assigning exactly how people ought to behave in an emotionally charged, on-the-spot moment are wild. Like... the conjecture alone and hoops you're jumping through to blame Jada for the whole ordeal. The assertion that "wILL lAuGhEd ToO," as if the Awards aren't filmed on a delay so they can spin whatever narrative they want on the fly, as if they don't shoot b-roll and copy paste shit wherever they want to create an atmosphere. Literally you'll have clips of people laughing from hours prior.
That being said, hell, maybe he did laugh. You don't know, I don't know. Who gives a shit.
If the only thing you're taking out of this whole ordeal is either the slap itself or prior marital problems, that tells me all I need to know about you. If you're speaking over people and telling them to feel a certain way or not be insulted when they clearly are, all you're doing is advertising how full of shit you are lmao. Get well soon.
If you're punching down, you're not a comedian. You're a bully. End of. You humiliated someone on broadcast television in front of their peers and millions of strangers for a laugh. Have a taste of your own cowpie, my good bitch.
Words have consequences.
