ugh I love morality in good omens but more quintessential: love.

Crowley and Az love each other for 6000 years. They risk their existence, freedom, life, joys for each other because it's not worth having without the other one.

Bee and Gabriel give up their respective posts for each other because love is more important. Gabriel performs a miracle so that Bee can listen to the song they like, ffs.

Madam Tracy and Shadwell ignore the fact that they're a witch/peeling back the veil and a witch hunter because they're in love.

Anathema and Newt defy destiny, Anathema rejects her life as a descendant, a witch and a witch hunter denying the fibre of their being for each other. Anathema is the first to value Newt's incompetence with computers because they LOVE EACH OTHER.

That's why the end is so jarring. We see love conquer the impossible, unite polar opposites, we see people that are so diametrically different brought together by love. Episode six is the first time love loses. It's the first time that it's not a snap and done situation. It's the first time that people are driven apart by the forces pulling them.

Gem lies back, between Scott and Impulse. Their blood still tastes sharp and iron at the back of her throat, which is a little silly, given that it's not like she licked them or something. There's no reason she should taste anything. She just... stabbed them, when they asked her to.

Stabbed them, because they knew they had to go red eventually, and for the sake of the team they wanted her to win.

Stabbed. Scott and Impulse.

Here's the thing: she'd told herself she wouldn't feel guilty, and she'd told herself this ages ago, when she started leading people to the End to see if the dragon would kill them. She told herself she wouldn't feel guilty, because clearly, she wouldn't let these games wear her down the way they do some people. She told herself she wouldn't feel guilty because people like to mistake her for a prey animal when she's a predator, and guilt would give the game away. She told herself she wouldn't feel guilty, because why feel guilty over having fun? It's just a game. A bloody, bloody game. She told herself she wouldn't feel guilty.

She told herself. She told herself.

There's no reason to feel guilty. She enjoyed herself, the rush of blood when running with Pearl, and then the heady feeling of having life, life, life running through her. She's pretty sure, despite being a red name, she has the most life anyone ever has in these games. It makes sense! Life and death are all wrapped up together, and Scott had choked on his own blood before he went down, even though she'd tried to make it quick, and as he gurgled over the injury she'd inflicted she'd felt life running in her and her heart pounding and everything getting dizzy and--

It doesn't matter. They told her to do it. She shouldn't feel guilty. Impulse had smiled at her. It had been a lovely smile. She hadn't known what to make of it.

And she closes her eyes and sees the life leave his.

But she shouldn't feel guilty. She tried to make it quick. Impulse had turned around, told her to do it like killing a chicken, destroying the brain stem so that he doesn't have to feel it, those last few minutes. It's fast. Humane. Like killing a chicken. Almost impersonal, except that he'd been so gentle, and they both had Scott's blood on them, and there was so much blood, and she likes blood. This whole game, that's been the point. She likes blood.

Impulse had died surprisingly bloodless but he'd screamed, for just a moment, because she doesn't actually know how to make it fast and humane, even if it's supposed to be like killing a chicken, and she'd felt--

She'd felt good, is the thing. It had felt good, even though he'd taken several blows to bring down, in the end. Even though she hadn't managed to make it quick. Even though, for a moment, he'd been terrified, and then after that, he'd convulsed, twitching on the ground, and she hadn't known if he was able to feel that at all. These are games. They're supposed to be fun. She won't feel guilty, she tells herself. There's no reason to feel guilty.

They told her they loved her, afterwards. Quietly, through actions and words. They told her not to feel guilty. It's in her nature.

One does not blame a lion for biting when it's given meat. It's in their nature.

This is her nature. This is what she is. She knows that now. That's what this has all taught her, this game she's playing. She knows well what she is; everyone will know well what she is, when next they take her in.

And maybe that's why, as she starts laughing, she can't stop from feeling guilty for what will happen next.

KILLUA FACT I NEED MORE PEOPLE TO KNOW

Killua's birthday (July 7) falls on the same day the festival of star-crossed lovers, Tanabata, takes place. STAR-CROSSED LOVERS!!! Not only that, the character from the myth and Killua's pasts heavily resemble each other.

I don't believe this wasn't an accident and I think Togashi purposely chose that date for these reasons.

tbh i think that even unwinnable fights should be winnable. some of the BEST fights i've ever run as a dm were ones i built kill the players (in a fun way. I had some cutscenes prepped so even the loss would be a different flavour of win)- but then they were clever bastards and managed to either win the fights or pull themselves out of trouble. I think it's perfectly fine to plan for a fight that players aren't supposed to win, but you need to let them. if they can't win, they can't lose, and the meaning of that encounter is diminished. do that too many times, and they stop trusting you to give them roleplay prompts and start expecting to sit there waiting while you drive the story for them.

but if they can win... if there is always the chance to win, no matter how impossible the odds, then they ALWAYS have hope. they always get invested. they feel the big emotions of success or the big emotions of failure, and you fucking Win as a dm/roleplay prompter/lead bastard.

Why Nine Is Loved So Much Already

Just watched Sonic Prime and it is AMAZING! It has stellar animation, unforgettable characters, and an engaging and exciting plot.

Among all of that, however, one character stood out to me more than all of the others: Nine. The "edgy, emo" Tails from the first Shatterverse. He's already a prevalent character, praised for his design, nature, and fantastic acting by Ashleigh Bell. He's just an excellent character in general, being complex and complicated.

He has a snarky, distant, and almost broken personality, from what I've seen, he IS almost broken. He's nearly broken because of what drives him in the first batch of episodes: Hope.

Hope can be an excellent thing. It can help you overcome obstacles, it can help you move forward, and it can help you win. However, what that hope exactly is and how you achieve it determines your character and morals.

What Nine HOPES for is a better future for himself. That is a good thing, however, the way he tries to achieve it is morally grey. It is a selfish hope that can potentially hurt others. Nine KNOWS it's selfish, he just doesn't care, the world treated him like dirt, and EVERYONE on it treated him like dirt, why should he care about how it affects it?

One more thing to note is how he acts around the others, Sonic specifically. He is curt, snarky, aloof, and strictly business with them, seeing no personal value in them other than using them due to how the world around him is.

Sonic, however, he's softer and opens slightly up. Sonic is open, kind, and patient toward the kit, something Nine never got to experience. He likes Sonic but doesn't know how to feel about it. He doesn't show trust in the blue blur. He likes him, but he isn't sure if he can truly trust him. But despite that, through out the series, the only time he genuinely smiles is with Sonic, no one else.

That's why he wanted Sonic to join him to live in The Grim with him.

Sonic makes him feel good, he makes him genuinely happy. He never thought about getting Sonic home, he only thought about getting the hedgehog to HIS idea of a true home.

One where it's just the two, where nobody can ever hurt them again. To him, it'd be the perfect world, a place where it's just him and the person he's close to.

But then Sonic tells him it's not going to work out. The worst part?

He's right.

Not just because of the problems with the Shatterverse, but also because it really isn't going to work out for them. While it's never outright stated if looked closer you can see that Sonic likes TAILS, not NINE. He cares for Nine BECAUSE he is a version of his brother, not because he cares for the separate person he is.

Nine is NOT Tails. Not just because he is different from Tails, but because he just isn't. Compared to Sonic, Nine isn't much better either. He DOES like Sonic and WHO he IS, but it's because of what Sonic can GIVE him that he does.

To Nine, Sonic can bring him EVERYTHING he ever wanted: A home, love, care, companionship, and family. To Nine, Sonic is his HOPE. If he loses that, he's back to square one, and that is what he desperately DOESN'T want.

It's heartbreakingly tragic and horribly unfair to both of them.

Another thing is his backstory. It wasn't over the top, it was what everyone EXPECTED to happen. Because Sonic wasn't there he was bullied relentlessly and became cold and resentful of the world. It's simple and not over-exaggerated and I appreciate that. It's not annoyingly complicated or trying hard to make you cry, it's just a simple statement of what happened. And that's the part that hurts, that we were RIGHT.

Because we were already close and emotionally invested in Tails, it was easy for us to sympathize with Nine. This was a character we loved, and looked up to, only to become cold and emotionally exhausted towards everything around him.

But the part that is great about him is that we don't know what his arc is going to be. Is he the character that opens up more and makes friends, is he the character that remains neutral, or is he going to be the true villain? We can't figure it out.

He's complicated and confusing but it's BECAUSE of that that we love him so much.

The final reason is the fact that he's just THAT character you WANT to win. He's so heart-wrenchingly tragic you just want him to achieve his goal of being happy, no matter HOW he achieves it. Even if he becomes the true antagonist I KNOW that all of us would root for him anyway because he DESERVES to win because he LOST so MUCH.

And that's why he's quite possibly going to be the greatest character ever written (not that he wasn't already in my opinion) in the Sonic universe.

Look, until Elodie shows up, I want to believe that the reason she doesn’t talk about her coward, frog husband is because her grief is too much.

She is a princess, with a beautiful golden ball that fell into a pond, that when the time came for her to step up and defend her people against giants, she fucking stood up. She is a princess with a golden mace who did everything she could for crown, country and people.

Elodie fell in love with the flower boy next door and it was true. She knows it was true because Gerard was always a little soft and silly but he made her laugh, proved to her that she wasn’t a shallow, spoiled princess, and when she kissed the top of his frog head, he turned into a handsome prince.

How do you explain that story to a group of women whose princes never showed up during the times of darkness?

Gerard, despite the fact that he flinches at loud noises, doesn’t like dogs, and snaps way too quickly at the staff, is a prince who showed up and their story is mostly about falling in love.

Elodie can relate to Snow and Cinderella when it comes to battles and dead mothers and living for a cause to thwart destiny but I have to believe she is grieving the loss of her true love.

And that’s not something the other princesses have had and lost. Elodie isn’t twice upon a time yet. She might have been enlightened in some way but she’s still the previous world’s Elodie.

Which makes her unique.

No wonder Gerard is able to put his book away and hope that he has a chance at being a part of Elodie’s story again. Their story was good the first time. He knows what it is that they have to lose--they both do.

And maybe, that is a destiny worth stealing from the authors.

But what do I know? I’m just a hopeless shipper romantic.

Me before starting this GOT fic: oh man I just have all these thoughts and feelings about how the political system of Westeros (and Essos too but at least that's got the terrible excuse of "city states but racist" lazy worldbuilding; you'd think Martin would at least care about the central premise of his series) is so internally incoherent, we're going to have to dig into all of that

Me while writing this GOT fic: yeah for sure for sure but also I really need to explain the extremely different dance traditions for each kingdom and why Riverlands dances are analogous to huge group Tinikling competitions between men and women and how that directly translates to the Iron Island's "dancing is how we scare our enemies" approach to dance (also the extremely rigid bifurcation not between "men's dancing" and "women's dancing" but between "sailor's dancing while onboard," "sailor's dancing while at port/on land," and "dancing of the people who make the sailing possible aka a lot of the women yes but at least in an INTERESTING way"). And then of course how the Riverlands' dancing directly ties into the Westerlands' dancing which is mixed-gender and involves a lot of swinging your partner around and lifting them up (hence one reason strong women in the Westerlands are valued since you BOTH gotta pick each other up) and hey let's talk about some of the really intriguing similarities between the dance traditions of the mountain clans in both the North and the Vale and hey wait guys where are you going guys GUYS

I want a bill whump so bad, if dipper falls in love with bill every time he reincarnates but hes also a little bit different in every reincarnation, could there be one where hes almost entirely replused by bill, or already in love with someone else?

We all love to see that terrible little man struggling! Typically hurting Bill is accomplished via Dipper-death, but this is a neat alternate scenario. You know he's definitely going to start out totally full of himself! Winning his husband back should be easy! Until he realizes he has no idea how he did it in the first place.

So — I accidentally came across one of those realistic cake videos. With that, why not a reader that could create realistic cakes. (*￣∇￣)ノ

The chain could be settling down at Lon Lon Ranch or Legend's home. They could be out because of news of monsters with black blood, so the reader stayed behind for their safety.

When they returned, Reader checked up on them, being sweet and eventually offering cake that they made while they're out. They agreed, a little snack sounds good, and it's kind of the reader to make something for them —

Proceeds to cut out a chunk of the kitchen counter and hands one of them a plate.

And in terms of yandere, I like to think there's a gag where the reader just somehow — maybe Hylia's blessing — has extremely realistic decoys of them made out of cake, just at their disposal.

Like, please, paint a picture of someone chatting with the reader, building up the courage to hold their hand only for their entire arm to fall on the ground. Cue confused, screaming.

They would eventually see through whether or not something was cake... maybe?

Either way, Reader would definitely be banned from the kitchen or any sort of baking utensil.

the way this is literally the same theme as something I was joking about with some friends loaf - you managed to infiltrate my discord?????/j (it was crack angst about if reader accidentally bit one of the chain and they were a hyperrealistic cake and didn't know, it spiralled from talking about wars and red velvet at the same time)

I love how much paranoia that scenario give parts of the chain though, they can't be certain that anything isn't actually a cake from that moment onwards, if leaving reader alone for such a small amount of time lead to them making so many cakes that were that realistic? who's to say they couldn't make cakes of other things - or even things out in the wild?

if they could by chance even replicate the magic of enchanted items, making them near undetectable to even the most magic sensitive of the links, well if it increases the amount of buffs they have then why not? even if it makes them sad to have to eat something with so much dedication, care and love put into it's creation

as for the yandere side, as well as what you mentioned with decoys? what about reader replacing their weapons with cake before they fled, asking fi for permission to wield her as her other master is losing himself to this sick twisted obsessive lust for them. It also makes me think of peeta in the hunger games and how he hides lmao maybe one of the links reader still foolishly trusts is suddenly grabbed by a hand in a shockingly similar way while the rest are enamoured by the saccarine decoy. only clocking on when their star in the skies falls apart under their touch.

They'd be lucky to ever bake again when they're reunited.
