Hey, I'm really happy that you liked my fic, but could you please think about what you're saying to me—a complete stranger—before you comment?

Here’s the thing: I write mostly E-rated fic. For obvious reasons, the norms for commenting are a little different than in the genfic world, and (to be clear) I deeply appreciate every comment I get.

But every now and then I get a comment that’s something like this:

“Hi! I loved this fic. Here’s a graphic description of the things I did to myself while reading it.”

Or this:

“Hi, I’m in this fic! It was so hot to read about [other half of ship] doing all of those things to me. Thank you for writing about me!”

And. Okay. Let me tread a little carefully.

To start: I am genuinely really happy you liked the fic, and that you're taking the time to tell me that. Most of my NSFW scenes are meant to be titillating. If you find them arousing, that’s great—that’s what I’m going for. If you’re picturing yourself as one half of the pairing, more power to you.

I also don’t know you. Like, at all. You scrolled through AO3 and saw my fic and read the tags and decided to click and read to the end, but I cannot control whether or not your comment shows up in my inbox.

So I hope you can understand why I’m a little uncomfortable when someone I don’t know shares graphic sexual details of their life in my inbox. 

I hope you can understand that no, you’re not in this fic: I wrote this fic about a fictional character that may share your name and face, but who does not exist. And I hope you can understand why it’s uncomfortable and distressing to me when someone tells me that no, actually, this is for me. it’s about me.

I’m happy to hear that you liked the fic. I’m happy to hear that you found it hot. But please keep in mind that I am a stranger that you are approaching on the street, and my consent matters too.

Hey, so I see this happening every so often, and it started with insta accounts reposting my stuff, but now various tumblr accounts are doing it...

Please ask if you want to use my scans/edits/gifs/etc

I can't grantee I'll always say yes, but if you ask beforehand and credit me somewhere, I'll be much happier than seeing my work reposted without notice. I would even be happy to make you something in it's place, say if you wanted a banner for a headcanon post or something.

I realize I don't own the source material, but I bought the comics, I bought the professional scanner, I bought the photoshop colorings and templates, I clean and edit everything I post, and as such I have invested money into this blog.

I feel that allows me, at the very least, some credit if my content is used. Most of ya'll are very kind about this, but all it takes is for one stolen post to get super popular to bum me out and make me want to stop posting.

I know my content is likely just ripped off google image searches, it appears quite frequently there as I've been posting for 7+ years....but it would be nice to ask permission. That's what I always do when I repost art. Just....think of the creator.

Fun fact my tablet is old as shit and youtube sucks the most out of any app trying to function on it. EVERY TIME I mean EVERY time I've ever watched rtvs vods on my tablet, youtube breaks and all I can do to fix it is restart my tablet. The thing is, the "breaking" doesn't fuck with the video, no, it fucks with the youtube app itself. IT LOCKS ME IN. I can't pause, I can't exit full screen, if its in "on screen window mode" or whatever the fuck its called, I can't move it, or close it, whatever is under the window is lost and untouchable. But what this means is, because its only fucking rtvs, normally just wayne, and I can't turn it off or do anything I am stuck with Wayne AUTO PLAYING ON MY TABLET WITHOUT CEASE. NO END IN SIGHT. I can't even hit the home screen! Its just fucking Wayne. On my tablet. I can't get him off.

LIKE it just got so bad earlier while I was watching a vod and it was like halfway on my screen in the top corner and oh what is it? Just wayne talking. About what? I DON'T REMEMBER, I WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY HE WAS STUCK ON MY FUCKING SCREEN. GET OUT OF MY TABLET WAYNERADIOTV. GET OUT.

if I had a nickel for every time a 911 poll broke containment and everyone thought the characters were cops despite visibly wearing firefighter uniforms and saying that they were firefighters on the post I would have way too many nickels .

Every week I find out something I thought was common knowledge is actually a feature of a psych degree/years trying to figure out what was going on in my brain/experiences in specific badbrains community contexts that might be limited to obsolete internet ecosystems or might just be more localized than I thought

recently experienced the concerningly strong urge to drive somewhere unknown without telling anyone and just sit on the side of the road or throw myself into a ditch

My therapist was impressed by my ability to communicate certain concepts while "not speaking actual English"

It's 3 am and I wish I could fall asleep to completely nonsensical dreams that do not at all hold hints to future events. But I took allergy meds today so I'll just have to hope I don't remember anything when I wake up.

I want to know what this path will look like on my actual island, but 50% of the time, I’ll download a design because it looks gorgeous, only to lay it down on my island and either be blinded by how bright/pale it actually is, or it will look nothing like how it looks in the pictures

Like, I know you want it to be all aesthetic, and I get that. But even just an image in the corner, or under the cut-- anything --would be so much better!

Also, just a note of whether it fits to the in-game path shape or not would also be really helpful! Just saying!
