um wow , idk what to say i’m a bit flustered but i hope i say it right. I was only gone for a couple of days and this is what I come back to. 😮 Tysm guys I love you all thank you for taking the time out of your scrolls to even follow me >:’) So, I decided to follow through on my haikyu x police force idea and here it is a sneak peek! The rooms silence was heavy as the camera panned the room. Your fingers silently being clawed into the table as it drained all your anger from you.

Your shoe tapping against the floor with a slight grimace appearing on your face when you heard the buttons on the camera in front of you being pressed.

" what no slick comment ? " A heartfelt laugh moved to fill the once silent room as you watched small hands wrap around the camera and fix it to where it showed nothing but your upset face—fingertips slamming down one by one on the table

" don't you have a fucking job to do glasses "

" aw what happened no more flirty y/n ? "

"your an asshole— I don’t know why I expected much in the first place seeing as though you were trained under him "

" such a foul mouth — you do know this is going on your transcripts right ? " the eyes in front of you narrowing on you the voice only coming out in mock care for your situation " you wouldn't want the jury — much less the judge reading this when their deciding your sentence right ? "

Your fingers glided over the table and into a fist in front of you as your head went to look down at the table

" you've grown submissive so fast "

" I find it hard to believe you don't like that kind of thing fucking pervert "

" aw you wound me — but if I had to supply you with an answer to your question— I can imagine your dying to know since you've been flirting with a married woman this whole time "

The click of the door being heard as a deep voice made its way in the room " Kiyoko your not allowed in here "

The room turning cold with the woman in front of you straightening herself up not wanting to go back and forth with the male in front of her but, at the same time not wanting to come across as small, being seen as a woman down here was hard much less having your own husband be relatively close to the one in charge " I came down here to test out inmate 4890 psyche"

" did anyone give you that kind of permission? that kind of clearance ? to even get down here in the first place ? "

" I mean their hidden underground so i'd say their the main event down here "

You seeing the hate swirl with annoyance meeting to radiate off of him. His face made up in a snarl as he finally turned his whole body to you.

Arms crossed across his chest eyes now lazily focused on you causing a chill to move through your spine. Youd never wanted to grow submissive to anyone and you never had not in all your years of living so why were you now?

Kiyokos eyes moving from between you to the male in front of her and back. Her body already telling you she knew something was off by the way you'd just been playful with her until you felt the energy shift by someone elses approach showing how easily your personality could changed.

Something was off and she was interested

your body shifted in the seat wrists being pulled back and down to the table by the chain in front of you when you heard his claim.

" y/n ' s good with that — their fine ive known them a long time I can speak for them — we’ve done this before countless times this isn't their first crime maybe one of this stature yes but "

" mhmm " the woman in front of you shook her head lightly before leaving the room your heart clenching tightly when you heard the door click closed

" I just wanna do my job and then i'll get out ok y/n " the fake sympathy in his voice shining through as he put down his clipboard on the table before standing behind the chair at the table across from you

" god " his voice was heavy as he spoke " it's like you get hotter and hotter everytime we see each other " his body moving around the small rectangular table " it's such a shame "

Your body tensing when you felt him nearing you only to keep going past you.

Body letting out a breath you didn't even know you were holding only to restore another one when you heard the click of the camera turning off and powering down.

Your eyes darting around the room to watch him out of the corner of them reaching up to turn off the corner camera that showed the police force what was happening in the room

Not that they would care seeing as though he was chief he could do anything he wanted to you and not have to tell anyone in his unit. It didn't help that you were a world renowned criminal now you'd fully fucked this up for yourself

" crazy how your fucked yourself over " his words only confirming the thought in your head " you were only into petty crimes before so I could barely get my hands on you i'd always have to pass you over to everyone else because no one of my status ever needed to intervene — though I would've loved to— just to feel the way your face would drop anytime I entered the room or to even feel the shift in your attitude like I felt earlier— holy fuck is that powerful and now look at you "

He laughed at your body that sat slumped in your chair trying to cover your face with the cuffs on the table " pathetically sitting in a room bawling your eyes out in front of me "

His words only feeling closer now as his breath hit your ear.

Heat from his mouth moving to your neck instantly causing you to scoot away only for him to grab the back of your neck " have you no respect for yourself "

You gritted your teeth together at his hold on you " I said have you no respect for yourself "

You bit at your lip trying to decide what to say you always wanted to spit a comeback at the male but right now was definitely not the time with his heavy hand on your neck moving slowly into your hair to grip tighter

"ah every single time we do this — it's almost even more pathetic than the droplets I keep seeing falling and landing on my perfect fucking table that I bought with company’s money— fuck their gonna cut my paycheck "

His hand tightening as he spoke again " one more time asshole " his voice held all the rudeness to it " have you no respect for yourself "

" y-"

The action was quick as he slammed your head hard into the table in front of you. your vision blurring before he sighed blood dripping from your forehead and leaking out of your nose onto your lips as it trembled slightly

" ugh I hate when this happens with you —- you always bleed so fucking easily " he huffed " I ask you something you answer learn something about respect for once in your life and maybe you'll take better care of yourself "

He scoffed " your so fucking pretty and yet you do things like this — you slut yourself out in my business and then turn around and get arrested god your such a fucking ditz "

your head being brought to meet the table once again as you whimpered tears mixing with your blood brain muddied and shut down by his actions

" i'm so tired — so so tired of sweeping everything you do under the rug— I mean you act like I can’t fucking see you y/n i run the whole fucking thing I don’t— I don’t understand you your just fucking stupid so so so stupid it just blinds me and throws me for a loop sometimes "

His voice was low almost as if he only wanted you to feel the weight of his words " and then you never even say fucking sorry " he pushed your head down again " i'm the fucking cleanup crew ,, the shitty bodyguard when you drag yourself in some mess ,, the contact list when you need a plug ,, the boss when you need a job i'm fucking tired y/n "

" I know I know and i'm— im so sorry really please i'm sorry "

you braced yourself for another push as he backed away the heavy hand leaving your neck as he peered down at your head that was still hovering over the table

" what the fuck do you want another bash ?What are you doing "

" no — no please no”

" then bring your head up — god you seriously take your role on as the youngest dont you " he sighed as he moved his hands to pinch at the bridge of his nose. Your eyes darting to the camera kiyoko left and feeling hope enter your body thinking of how she would see the whole scene that’s played out with the male in front of you

" your not staying here "

" what—what "

" you can't — I dont want you here— i’m outta this your not my responsibility anymore your 19 now so I don’t know what to say except get it to fucking gether — you stay here your never gonna go to jail you'd just stay in a confined room for moths — fuck i’m always getting dragged in this shit "

" how — what do I do — what am I gonna do "

" the hell do you mean ? what am I gonna do ? as if the shits not obvious your gonna do fucking nothing while everyone else does all the work for you again "

your voice grew quiet as he scoffed " that's what I thought god — one day i'm gonna get fired "

your eyes darted to the camera and back down " for what exactly "

his eyebrows creased as he stared at you eyes moving all around your face before he spoke ignoring your question " you got yourself in some real bad shit this time y/n "

" but it wasn't even my fau— "

" you don't say shit — you know it wasn't suppose to go down like that and when one goes down we go down together you swore it— that’s how you got our trust don’t fuck yourself over again or you’ll be down in hell by yourself "

" like what ? "

" don't fuck with me y/n "

he moved to grab his clipboard your body lifting when he walked off and forgot about the camera only to drop the clipboard to the floor with a loud clang and start using his shoe to tear the papers apart

" wh-what are you doing " your voice came out soft as your eyebrows creased

His body moving over to the table and throwing the camera youd just put all your hope into someone seeing what you went through being thrown to the ground and stepped on harshly with the heel of his shoes.

Though it wasn't broken broken it was unsalvageable and couldn't be fixed your eyes going wide unable to process anything before he walked to the door and opened it his hand coming up to cup around his mouth

" THEIR ATTACKING " he screamed your body trembling at the way the table shook along with it " calling all units anyone in the vicinity the inmate I am locked up with is having a tantrum of some kind and I do not think I can handle it alone "

Your heart broke as you watched the male in front of you turn back to look at you holding nothing but hate in his eyes " I ask that you help me remove the inmate and get them out of our station immediately "

Several people running in cleaning up the scene and taking pictures before someone uncuffed you and dragged you towards the tall male by the door.

" Chief where do you want em "

" I want em on the next bus to tokyo "

Your head swirling " wh— "

" everyone exit while I talk to the inmate quickly alerting them of their next adventure " everyone moving silently to follow his demands his eyes going directly to yours as everyone raced down the hallway and away from you two

" your going to tokyo — I can't fucking do this — "

" but what would I do there's no one "

" go see bokutou — at this point you've pissed me off I can't do much else for you just — go ask for a new life really " his voice came out in a short laugh at his ending words

" y/n I said i'm pissed off and done with you — you keep interfering with my job and honestly this murder charge was the last strike for me— your of age now I can’t get you outta this shit— so if you could just get a new identity and get the hell away from me id seriously appreciate it "

" daichi I "

" you don't say anything "

" i'm not your anything as of right now you prick " his voice was sharp and held meaning as he snapped at uou " not your brother — your friend — your back up call when you get into weird shit I — I wanted to be a nice police officer and move my way up to chief I wanted to have kids a — a family y/n " he scoffdd " not a shitty sibling who keeps using my job against me and has me pulling strings that shouldn't even exists "

" you see how I keep cutting you off it's because I don't want to hear you y/n — you annoy the fuck out of me so seriously " he moved his shoulder to glide through the doorframe and past you "just go do what you criminal assholes do and get a new identity and the fuck away from me as soon as possible I want nothing to do with you "

" sooooo thats how you ended up with me " the air in the new room shifted from confusing to happiness as the dual colored male in front of you screamed " THATS AWESOME YOU HAVE SUCH A BADASS BACK STORY "

He jumped up and covered his face dramatically before he spoke "twas a dark night when y/n changed their ways and gave birth to a criminal — a murdering criminal who came to the one and the only — bokuto koutaro the amazingily cool , strong , funny , king of connections — thus creating a beautiful friendship and a dark and powerful villian story "

He smiled at your beat and battered face youd received from your brother a day ago before he spoke again his hair drooping slightly " too much ? "

(((ight. ive had this in my drafts for actual ages and thought this line was perfect to end it on)))

Heat clung in the late-night air and surrounded Paul as he collapsed onto the bus stop bench. The cool of the metal sent chills over his sweat sheened skin. The search for John had lasted the better half of the day and the heat did not give way through it all. Even as he sat in the moonless night, the wind still brought in hot and humid air that was almost too thick to breathe.

He wiped away the sweat from his brow. He had to go home at some point. Where else was there to look? He’d thoroughly searched John’s usual hangouts, every pub he has ever set foot in and some he hadn’t, and went back to the lads house a million times to check with Mimi. Nothing. He figured he could look around the old graveyard one last time, though he’d have to walk all the way home after that. No bus to take him back that late. Maybe the walk would help him sleep tonight. He was already under the assumption he wouldn’t sleep if John didn’t turn up but sheer exhaustion could do the trick.

John’s mother had passed only a few weeks prior. He had the right to up and disappeared, Paul figured. But he couldn’t help but worry. Being that down, anything could happen when you're left alone. John wasn’t known for being completely rational on a good day, anyways.

He looked over the emptying streets as cars flew by, bringing in waves of much cooler air. He moved from the bench and stepped closer to the road, leaning on a nearby lamppost. The cool air from the rushing cars greeting him like a breath of fresh air. Glancing down the street, he spotted the bus slowly approaching.

Once the squeak of its breaks settled to a stop and the doors jittered open, he climbed on, paying his toll. The bus was completely empty. He began to sit but the ancient man driving the bus grunted.

“Check the top for any stragglers, would you lad? Would be much appreciated.”

Hot and tired, Paul didn’t have the energy to refuse. He gave a nod and climbed to the top level of the bus. Passing streetlights guided him through the aisle. His eyes danced between the two sides until they fell on a balled-up figure tucked away in the very back. They reeked of just about every type of booze imaginable, a coat pulled up to cover their head. They had to be sweating to death under that thing.

Paul nudged the figure with the tip of his fingers. “Bus’ only got a few more stops, mate. Best get up.”

The jacket toppled to the side as the figure stirred. The streetlights flickered across the boozed filled figure to reveal John’s pale face. His hair was plastered to his scalp with sweat but he seemed oblivious to the heat. It was not oblivious to him, however. His skin was paler than usual, the freckles on his arms even seeming to lack full color, and he was coated in sweat.

“Dammit, John...” Paul leaned over his friend to pull down a window. Carefully, he lifted John up until the wind was hitting his face. He fell over onto Paul’s shoulder, his eyes still not having opened.

“Paul?” He giggled wearily.

Paul petted back locks of hair clinging to John’s forehead. “Yeah, I’m right here, git.”

John was back in his drunken slumber in seconds, his skin cooling with the current of air. He stirred as the bus came to a stop but didn’t wake. Paul couldn’t bring himself to try and wake the lad. He looked happy in his dreamland.

Shaking out his arms, Paul stood and looked over the lad. All Paul could think was that he’s lucky he’s worth all this fuss. He slipped his arms behind John’s back and knees, carrying him down the steps bridal style. John threw his arm upon Paul’s shoulder, his face buried in his friend's shirt.

“It’s clear now,” Paul announced to the confused bus driver before descending the steps.

The day had worn on him already. Walking all of Liverpool countless times in the heat of summer will do that to just about anyone. Paul put all his remaining energy into carrying John the last block to his house. It wasn’t feasible to get him to Mimi’s in this state, the walk was far too long from the closest bus stop. He’d have to settle with calling her. Adjusting his grip on John’s back, he noticed a beer bottle sticking from his front pocket, unopened. He couldn’t help but laugh, the vibration of his chest seeming to wake John.

His hand lazily tapped at Paul’s shoulder. “Can- I- Can walk. Don’t kill- kill yerself…”

Paul stopped in his tracks, his eyes traveling up and down John as his eyes opened up. “You sure? Still got half a block to my house.”

John just nodded. Seeing some sign of consciousness in the gesture, Paul slowly placed his feet on the sidewalk, his arms wrapping around his waist. John threw his arm over Paul’s shoulder, leaning on him as they stumbled down the street together.

“‘S’late, Macca. Late...late.” His lips curled into a smile as bubbly giggles escaped him, floating into the empty night air.

Paul hummed. “Very late to be out on a bus.”

“That’s the best bit, though.” John hiccuped and laughed a full laugh. “You didn’t find me. Mimi- Mimi didn’t. Geo didn’t- ...Find me…” His eyes drooped with sadness for a split second before the smile returned in full force. “You can find me anytime, Macca.” His voice was suddenly dripping with suggestion. He threw his other arm around Paul’s neck and almost dragged them to the ground.

Paul shushed him, pulling them upright, as they stopped at his door. “Don’t go waking my whole house, alright?”

They traversed the steps up to Paul’s room very slowly and as quietly as possible. The pointer finger of Paul’s free hand was pressed to John’s lip the entire time, which John was finding hilarious. Once the door was shut behind them he burst out into laughter, pulling his pocket beer out. Paul rushed over, plucking the dark bottle from between his hands and hiding it behind his back.

He gave a smile, pushing John onto his bed. John stumbled back and fell onto the bed, propping himself up with his elbows. “You’ve had enough, haven’t you? Now lay down before you’re sick.”

“You drink it,” John nodded at the hidden beer. “Drinky drinky, Macca.”

Paul shoved the beer into his dresser drawer and pulled out two pairs of pajamas in return. “Who’d take care of you, then?” He threw the sleepwear at John’s lap and began to change into his own. “I’ll be going to call your auntie. You can get yourself dressed, yeah,” He asked as he slipped his nightshirt on.

John’s head cocked to the side. “Might need a little hand, love. You never know.”

Paul shook his head before going to make his call and gather up some water and a cloth. The call to John’s house lasted only a few minutes. Mimi was obviously relieved but kept the conversation short. Paul’s keen ear could still pick up on the small break in her usual level voice on the last “thank you” before she hung up. John would worry that woman to death.

With a basin of water and cloth in hand, Paul made his way into his room to find John sat up, still fully clothed in drainers and a t-shirt. Knowing he wouldn’t do it himself, Paul stood in front of the lad and pulled up his shirt. “You were supposed to change yourself.”

John’s body was like water and his arms flowed up to allow for the shirt to slip away. His body crashed back onto the bed. “Told you I needed you.” He moved back up onto his elbows as Paul shimmied his pants off. “You’re doing an excellent job, see?” He grabbed the clean shirt off the bed and put it on of his own accord.

Paul hummed distractedly, wetting the rag in the basin. He wrung out the fabric and began to dab at John’s forehead. “Well, mum was a nurse. Maybe I got it from her,” he said in a gentle voice.

John looked to him with a furrowed brow. His hand came up to grab Paul’s, stopping him from his work. Paul gave a soft smile, about to speak, not expecting the sudden crash of John’s lips into his. He dropped the rag onto the bed, timid hands cupping his intoxicated partner's face. The smell and taste of stale alcohol overwhelmed Paul’s senses but he didn’t mind it. He’d never mind it as long as it was John. After a moment, John pulled away, his forehead resting against Paul’s.

“What was that for?” Paul couldn’t help the smile on his lips.

“I don’t want to talk about it.” He sighed and pulled Paul down onto the bed. “Let’s just sleep.” His hand draped over Paul’s back, pulling them closer together on the small twin bed. John’s eyes were already shut, his features relaxing.

“Yeah, love. That’s fine,” Paul whispered, kissing John’s forehead.

The Best Christmas of All Time

Someone gave me an adorable prompt about decorating your SO’s hospital room for Christmas and so ofc I had to write that! (this will also be available on ao3, but idk if tumblr’s still being a dink and hiding posts w/ external links so I won’t be adding a link to this one, I just want to let you know that it’s there if you prefer reading on ao3!)

Normally, Kazuya didn’t really look forward to Christmas. Not because he didn’t like it, but rather he didn’t really have a reason to do so. But it never bothered him; baseball was more than enough.

But this year was different. This year, Kazuya was going to celebrate it with Sawamura. It was going to be their first Christmas together as a couple. Tonight, they were going to a Christmas Eve party with all their friends and then tomorrow, he would have Sawamura all to himself. All those romance manga Sawamura read said Christmas was kind of a big deal, so Kazuya wanted to get it right.

So, you can imagine Kazuya’s frustration when he found himself sitting in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV.

“Guess this means you’re not coming to the party,” Kuramochi said.

“Gee, you think?” Kazuya responded dryly, his face devoid of emotion.

“Now, now, Miyuki. You know that he didn’t mean any harm,” Takigawa chided.

“I know, I’m sorry Chris-senpai,” Kazuya replied apologetically.

“Hey! You’re supposed to apologize to me!” Kuramochi argued.

“Did you fly across the globe to visit even though I’m bedridden until tomorrow?” Kazuya retorted.

“No, but I was the one who drove you to the hospital. And I can always make your stay a little longer…” Kuramochi raised his fist as he slowly approached Kazuya’s bed.

Takigawa raised his arm to stop Kuramochi before any harm could be done. “I know you were excited to catch up with everyone, but accidents happen,” he said to Kazuya.

“Accident my ass. This idiot wasn’t taking care of himself properly and fainted,” Kuramochi interjected.

Takigawa raised an eyebrow. “Miyuki, is that true?”

“I…may have missed a meal or two…,” Kazuya replied.

“Missing one meal isn’t going to cause malnutrition or dehydration,” Kuramochi said. Kazuya glared daggers at Kuramochi; that little snitch.

Takigawa folded his arms, gazing sternly at Kazuya. “I thought of all people, you would know the importance of taking care of yourself,” he scolded.

“I know. I-I was just…really busy,” Kazuya explained.

“What? Practicing proposing to Sawamura?” Kuramochi asked.

Kazuya blushed. “What? No! I have assignments, and my job at the coffee shop, and—”

“Then he’s part of the reason why,” Kuramochi countered. “You had no problem balancing your life for the past year, but then suddenly out of nowhere, your whole life is thrown into disarray after you started hanging out with Sawamura more often?” Kazuya clicked his tongue; why was Kuramochi so incredibly observant?

Kuramochi and Takigawa looked at Kazuya expectantly. Kazuya tried to think of an excuse, but eventually sighed in defeat. “Sawamura and I…started going out. I was working extra shifts to save up for his Christmas present. Because of my extra shifts, I didn’t have time to cook properly.”

Kuramochi scoffed and folded his arms. “Took you long enough.”

Kazuya raised an eyebrow. “What?”

“Everyone already knew you dating. We just didn’t think you’d take so long to tell us,” Kuramochi explained.

Kazuya blushed. Was it really that obvious to others?

“Congratulations, Miyuki,” Takigawa said.

Kazuya sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. “Thanks, Chris-senpai.”

“But you’re still stupid,” Kuramochi added. “Happy for you, but you’re stupid.”

“Thanks…,” Kazuya reluctantly replied.

“So how much does this gift cost that you needed to overwork yourself?” Kuramochi questioned.

A knock coming from the hospital room door interrupted their conversation. “I’m so sorry to bother you,” said the nurse at the door, “but I need to make my assessments on Miyuki-san’s condition.”

“That’s no problem. We were just on our way out,” Takigawa replied.

“But I wasn’t—” Kuramochi began, but one look from Takigawa and Kuramochi knew better than to argue.

Takigawa turned back to Kazuya. “We can talk anytime. Just focus on getting better, okay?”

“Yeah…thanks for stopping by,” Kazuya said.

“It’s no problem at all. We’ll let everyone know you can’t come,” Takigawa answered.

“Don’t do anything dumber than you’ve already done,” Kuramochi added.

“Appreciate the concern,” Kazuya said.

“Merry Christmas,” Takigawa and Kuramochi said together as they left the room.

“Merry Christmas,” Kazuya said as well, waving goodbye until they were out of sight.

“Alright, Miyuki-san. Are you ready?” the nurse asked.

“Sure,” Kazuya answered. “Not like I’m going anywhere any time soon.”

…

Kazuya only realized he fell asleep when he found himself waking up. He turned to look at his side and saw something brightly coloured, but everything was so fuzzy that he couldn’t make out what he was looking at.

He tried to sit up, but he moved too quickly and made himself dizzy.

“Whoa, careful now,” said someone in the room, probably another nurse. She rushed over to help Kazuya lay back down before pressing a button on the bed. It began to shift until the back was raised like a chair. “You’re not quite fully recovered, so you shouldn’t be moving around so quickly.”

Kazuya swiveled his head side-to-side. “Where are my…”

“Oh, your glasses?” the nurse finished. She picked up something from the counter beside his bed and handed it to him.

Kazuya graciously accepted the object and could feel the familiar rims of his glasses. He put them on, blinking a couple of times to adjust his eyes. Once everything cleared, he had to blink a few more times, just to make sure that he was seeing things correctly.

The brightly coloured blur he saw before was a bouquet of sunflowers set up beside his bed. Tinsel lined the bed rails and a small, decorated Christmas tree was sitting on a tray at the end of his bed. Paper snowflakes and ornaments dangled from the ceiling and on the wall opposite of his bed, there were 2 banners that read “Get Well Soon!” and “Merry Christmas!”

Kazuya didn’t know what to do and just stared in confusion. “Wh-what…”

“This was all Sawamura-san’s idea,” the nurse said.

Kazuya turned towards her, confusion still clear on his face. “Huh?”

“Sawamura-san heard that you were in the hospital for Christmas. He said that he didn’t want you to feel left out and asked if he could decorate your room.”

Kazuya’s eyes wandered around the room. “He did all this for me?”

“Well, he did have some help from the staff. No one expected him to be the clumsy type.”

Kazuya chuckled at the thought. He could see Sawamura fumbling with the decorations, maybe even giving himself a papercut or two. It was endearing and charming in its own way, and Kazuya didn’t hate the effort.

“Oh! I almost forgot,” the nurse said as she flipped through the papers on her clipboard. She removed an envelope and handed it to Kazuya. “Sawamura-san also dropped this off. It’s from your father.”

Kazuya took the envelope from the nurse, eyes wide in surprise. The envelope itself was quite basic: a simple red envelope that had his name on the front. Kazuya couldn’t imagine what could possibly be in it. His father wasn’t a cold man, he just wasn’t too good with sentimental things.

Kazuya pulled out a white card that was just as simple as the envelope. It had “Merry Christmas!” printed in gold, cursive font on the front. The inside only had 2 sentences written in pen: Get well soon. I have some sushi waiting for you. Kazuya’s eyes lingered over the words, a small smile on his face. It may not have seemed like much to someone else, but it meant the world to him.

An ever growth warmth spread from Kazuya’s chest. He had never felt so cherished before, but he kind of liked it. “Is Sawamura still here?” he asked hopefully.

“I’m so sorry, but Sawamura-san took off before you woke up,” was the nurse’s apologetic reply.

“Oh…,” Kazuya trailed off.

“B-but he really did want to wait for you! He said that he forgot something and left in a hurry,” the nurse quickly said. “I’m sure that he just got held up and would’ve come right back had visiting hours not finished for the day.”

“R-right.” Kazuya realized his disappointment must’ve been really obvious and felt a little embarrassed.

“Well, I’m glad you enjoyed your surprise. It’s very late now, so you should think about getting some more rest. Merry Christmas, Miyuki-san,” was the last thing the nurse said before she turned the lights off and left the room.

Kazuya sat in silence, the gentle glow from the stars and moon the only source of light. He took another look around the room, looked down at the card again. He turned towards the clock in the room: 10 minutes until midnight. 10 minutes until Christmas day, and the only company he had was an IV bag pumping saline solution into his arm. He sighed and fell back against the hospital bed.

Kazuya turned towards the balcony, thinking maybe a change in scenery would help cheer him up. Just then, a shooting star flew through the night sky. He could almost hear Sawamura as if he were standing in the room. ‘You have to make a wish, Miyuki! That’s like…the law of shooting stars!’

Kazuya chuckled to himself. “It’d be nice if Sawamura was here,” he mumbled to no one in particular.

Kazuya decided to get settled for bed, when suddenly he heard a thud! coming from the balcony. He whipped his head around, his eyes frantically searching for the source. He didn’t see anything, but he did hear someone moaning in pain and footsteps that grew closer and closer.

Kazuya could hear his heart thumping inside of his chest. He didn’t dare pull his eyes away from the balcony, waiting for the perpetrator to expose himself. He knew he should’ve pressed the call button for the nurse, but what if it was someone dangerous? But then, what should he do in this situation?

Kazuya didn’t have time to think about it longer when the culprit knocked on the glass panel of the balcony door.

Kazuya squinted at the person in disbelief. “…Sawamura?” he slowly said.

Sawamura pointed to the lock. ‘Open the door,’ he mouthed.

Kazuya sat there, trying to make sense of everything. Was Sawamura really there? Should he actually go open the door? Another bout of knocking told him he should. Kazuya stood up from the hospital bed and made his way to the balcony, using the IV stand for support.

“Took you long enough. Man, is it ever cold outside!” Sawamura exclaimed once he was let in, placing his bag onto a chair. He cupped his hands over his mouth and began to breathe into them, trying to warm them up.

Kazuya shut the door behind him, still unable to process what was going on. “H-how…”

“I tried going through the front doors, and they said no! ‘Visiting hours are closed. Only family and hospital staff are allowed.’ Can you believe that?” Sawamura complained, ignoring Kazuya’s attempt to speak.

“Did you…”

“So, I had to pretend to leave. And then, you know what I did? Well, I remembered you had a balcony, so I climbed up the side of the hospital. But my foot got caught, so I fell when I tried to pull myself up. Still kind of hurts,” Sawamura continued as he rubbed his chest.

“Wait, just give me a minute here,” Kazuya said, pinching the bridge of his nose. He sat back down on the bed, recollecting his thoughts. “You were denied entry into the hospital, so you decided to scale a building?”

“I needed to get in! And they weren’t giving me much of a choice,” Sawamura argued.

“And this has nothing to do with the star?” Kazuya asked.

“Huh? What star? What are you talking about?” Sawamura replied.

“…Never mind, forget it. It’s nothing,” Kazuya said, waving his hand in dismissal. Clearly, he was losing his mind for believing in wishing stars for even a second. “So, why exactly did you break into the hospital?”

“I didn’t break in,” Sawamura said defensively. “You let me in, remember?”

“But why are you here?” Kazuya reiterated. “Shouldn’t you be at the party right now? You know, the one you planned?”

“I told them to go on without me, ‘cause I had something important to do,” Sawamura replied.

“Like what?”

Sawamura spread out his arms and gestured to the room. “Like this. Did you really think I was going to let you spend tonight all alone?” Kazuya didn’t say anything, so Sawamura kept going. “This is our first Christmas together since we started dating. Just because you’re in the hospital, doesn’t mean we can’t spend it together.”

Sawamura approached the bed and took one of Kazuya’s hands into his own. “You feel okay?” Sawamura asked, his voice filled with concern.

A small smile grew on Kazuya’s face. “I’ve been better.”

“I told you to take it easy,” Sawamura chided. “And thanks for telling me by the way,” he added sarcastically.

“I didn’t want you to worry, and you would’ve found out anyway,” Kazuya explained. “I was just trying to save up for your present.”

“Can’t be that good if you got hurt in exchange.”

“Really? ‘Cause I actually have it here with me. But if you don’t want it, then I can just return it,” Kazuya teased.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn’t say that,” Sawamura said. “I mean, if you already have it, then it can’t be helped.”

“I thought we weren’t exchanging gifts until the day of,” Kazuya smirked.

Sawamura rolled his eyes. “It’s Christmas in literally 5 minutes. I think we’ll be fine.” He sat down on the bed, never letting go of Kazuya’s hand. He looked at Kazuya expectantly. “I’m ready.”

Kazuya chuckled at his boyfriend’s antics. He tipped his chin towards the end of the bed. “It’s in my bag.”

Sawamura swiveled around to see the bag before standing up and walking to the end of the bed. He took the bag off the bed post and brought it to Kazuya before sitting back down.

Kazuya sifted through his things until he found what he was looking for. He pulled out a small, white box with the words ‘JAM HOME MADE’ written on the top. He took off the lid and revealed a small, blue velvet box inside.

“No way,” Sawamura whispered.

“What?” Kazuya asked.

“Nothing,” Sawamura replied too quickly. Kazuya was skeptical, but chose not to say anything.

Kazuya flipped the blue box around so that it was facing Sawamura before popping the lid open to reveal a ring. It was a small silver band that made a diamond shape in the centre. The diamond was decorated with small diamonds and ‘E. SAWAMURA’ was engraved into the inner part of the ring. Sawamura never took his eyes off it.

“You like it?” Kazuya asked.

Sawamura didn’t say anything and just nodded. He told hold of the box and kept staring at the ring.

“Will you put it on me?” Sawamura asked. He held out the box to Kazuya.

Kazuya took the box and pulled the ring out from the slot. Using his free hand, he picked up Sawamura’s right hand and carefully slid the ring onto Sawamura’s pointer finger.

“Why the right hand?” Sawamura asked.

“Because you’re left-handed. It’ll be easier to hide it on your right hand than your left. And if people do notice it, at least it’s on a hand and finger no one would question,” Kazuya explained.

Sawamura nodded and looked down at the ring again, a soft smile on his face. Kazuya wished he could look at Sawamura smile like that forever.

“Are you ready for your gift?” Sawamura asked. Kazuya didn’t even reply before Sawamura left the bed again, this time to retrieve his own bag. He pulled out a white box and sat down on the bed. Kazuya could read the words ‘JAM HOME MADE’ across the front.

“You probably know,” Sawamura started, “But the ring you bought comes in a set of two. A ring and a necklace.” Sawamura opened the lid and took out a similar blue velvet box, this one being not as tall but much wider and longer. “You’re not really one for jewelry, so I thought getting something you could easily hide under your shirt would be better for you.” He flipped open the box and turned it to reveal Kazuya’s present.

Just as Sawamura had implied, it was the matching necklace that went with the ring Kazuya bought. It was styled like a key with a little diamond charm attached to the necklace chain as well. ‘K. MIYUKI’ was etched into the lower half of the key, but the important part was how the top of the key had a diamond hole cut out. As if to demonstrate, Sawamura took out the necklace and placed the diamond hole over top of the diamond on his ring, making a perfect fit.

“And now we match,” Sawamura finished. They both looked at each other, neither one saying a word. Suddenly, their laughter broke the silence, both struggling to keep their voices down.

“It’s like we’re in one of your shoujo manga,” Kazuya chuckled.

“We better tell someone to write our story,” Sawamura chimed in.

“Maybe they’ll make an anime about us,” Kazuya added.

“Really though, what are the chances?” Sawamura asked once they settled down.

“Guess great minds think alike,” Kazuya answered, his trademark smirk on his face. He leaned in and tipped his head forward. Sawamura leaned in as well, clasping the necklace around Kazuya’s neck before pulling away.

Kazuya looked down at the necklace before turning to Sawamura and smiling. “It’s perfect,” Kazuya said.

Sawamura returned the smile. “I’m glad you like it.” He rested his head against Kazuya’s and reached for Kazuya’s hand, lacing their fingers together.

“It’s like we were made for each other,” Sawamura whispered.

Usually, Kazuya would’ve made fun of Sawamura for saying something so cheesy. But for some reason, he didn’t feel like it this time. Maybe it was Sawamura’s surprise, maybe Sawamura was rubbing off on him. Kazuya didn’t really know or care.

“Guess we are,” Kazuya whispered back before giving Sawamura a kiss, something he wanted to do from the moment Sawamura walked in.

And it was pretty much the best Christmas of all time.

Ep. #8 - “Ciera Eastin Open the Ziggurat” (Zach)

So we just merged which is awesome!! I'm glad that I was able to make it to this milestone in the game, but I'm honestly pretty nervous as to where things are headed for me. To start off, Megan just got voted out on the other tribe so I literally hate everything. Megan queen we miss you ): Having Megan out makes me concerned as well as Julian and Will. As the 3 remaining original Enlil's, we have the fewest people of any original tribe and it could be pretty easy to just knock us all out one by one. When hearing about what happened from Julian, supposedly he, Megan, Benji and Johnny were supposed to vote Adam out while Adam, Michael and Isabelle voted for Megan. The vote was obviously 4-3 against Megan though, and Julian said that Johnny had chosen to flip and vote her out. Johnny approached me though and was like "I wanna work with you!!!" and shit which I currently don't believe but at the moment I'll say yes to absolutely anything that will help me get further in the game. Obviously my loyalty lies with Will and Julian, but we need to pull strings to last as long as we can until things are no longer seen as original newbie vs. original flop returnee vs. original not flop returnee tribes. I'm playing as though the merge idol was found and I have to rely on myself and my allies to advance.

So Julian tells me that Zach is continuing his rat ways. after he decided to tell the people who were gonna vote me out that we were planning to vote out Jay he decided that is not enough rattiness for one ORG so he decided to run to Johnny with info Julian told him and uhh, yikes. I kinda feel bad for collin since he's guilty by association but maybe if he pisses everyone off with this enough we can actually send him packing this vote. Don't get me wrong he's a nice person and everything, but in the game.... no sweetie. He rly said "kage who? im the chaotic newbie now"

While I had some conversations today, none significantly changed the flow of my game. Key takeaways: Julian is leaking info and IDK if I fully trust him anymore, I think the other side is a bit closer than some of my allies do which worries me, Abrielle or a non-allied Enlil is my best target with Julian as a backup plan. For the challenge, since it is anonymous, I'll probably knock out somebody in my alliance. If I don't have immunity, with the number of people left in the game, better to have someone on their side win than somebody on ours. I might knock out Julian if I get the chance to pin it on the other side and lock him in with us

So it turns out everyone is targeting Zach because everyone realized he's trying to be in the middle of everything at the same time which is perfectly fine by me. Something I do need to think about though is how this may impact my future game given there is supposedly an alliance between isabelle, johnny, adam and michael. On another note, I forgot to respond to abrielle's message when I thought I did yesterday so to make it up to her we are gonna have a call. I feel bad because me since merge was just trying to socialize and not strategize so not responding makes me feel more bad than if it were just for strategic purposes. Tomorrow has a lot of game planning ahead. Hoping for the best!

Collin just destroyed my game. he didn't know the decoy plan was that he was in the minority, so he messaged will that he would be down with the plan to vote zach, but collin is the absolute last person that should have known votes were going on zach. this exposed my efforts to save zach and painted a monsterous target on my back. Well, things have certainly gotten a little more stressful. There aren’t two clear voting blocs, so it feels a lot more up-in-the-air regarding how the vote is going to go tonight, and I know my name is out there. But I still have faith in my alliance coming into the merge, and I’m not too nervous. The plan is to vote Zach tonight, which I honestly wish wasn’t the case given that I think I could work with him in the future, but now he’s trying to put the vote on me, so I’m not protecting him.

Like I've been told, Zach was voted out 9-3 (with collin and probably abrielle voting for adam with zach). While Will is telling me they are fine I don't really believe that and I'm nervous that we completely isolated them (though I didn't make any promises with abrielle about voting for Adam). Going into next tribal after the challenge, I'm wondering who would vote with us and who won't. Zach was on everyone's radar for playing a very obvious middle ground game, but no one else is playing that. I guess all I can do is continue to build my relationships with some of these other players and then try and open up talks for strategy to see if any options open up. I'm starting to feel as though I'm being treated as a sheep so I have to make some subtle changes to benefit me long-term.

hi, so i've only been in rpgs before but i've always followed you and your friends since about 2014. im thinking of making my own oc but was just wondering if you have any tips since ive been following you for so long. thank you in advance!

ahhhhhh first of all let me say it’s an honour that you asked me this and icb you’ve followed me for that long!! idk if i’m an expert but i’ll definitely try my best to give you a few tips? if you do make an oc please come to me so that we can plot together. but please keep in mind that these are just my opinions/rules that i live by for rp.

1. establish your canon with a believable backstory. if your show is currently running, find a way to fit your character in with its canon. do your research and it will show. and while the following is just a personal preference i think people should stick with, i really don’t like bending my oc’s canon to fit canon characters. for example: darcy is currently in polis, so if a character wants to write in the canon season 4 timeline for the 100, they need to be in polis too. if a muse wants to write with season 2 darcy, she will be in the mountain. this won’t change because these events in her canon are important. have respect for the decisions you made with your character’s backstory and don’t make those decisions if they don’t make sense. and if you do chose to stray from canon, ensure it’s tagged as an AU. but honestly to me it just feels messy and wrong to bend my canon because i’ve worked hard on it, so that’s something i don’t do.

2. be proactive. take part. approach people. honestly, i cannot stress this enough. if you write an OC you can’t expect everybody to approach you first all the time, and it’d be great if people WERE to view OC’s in the same light as canon characters, but they don’t. you have to work extra hard to make an OC work. i’ve received a lot of good feedback from RP partners and made a lot of friends because of approaching people first. as long as you’ve read peoples rules and in some cases ensured that you’re mutuals, nobody will judge you for approaching somebody first because it shows an interest in writing with them. it’s like an unspoken compliment. the key to a successful OC is confidence BUT also make sure you actually have ideas because nothing is more rude than approaching somebody and expecting them to do all the work. if you want to write with them, YOU are the one initially showing the interest.

3. keep it realistic! give your muse flaws and things they’re bad at. make sure your character’s backstory fits with the canon of your fandom. respect your partner’s character’s abilities. for example: darcy ain’t gonna win a fight against fully trained warriors. she chooses a bow and arrows as a weapon so she can fight at long range because she’s not very strong. i would not expect darcy to be able to take on somebody like ontari bc she’s gonna die so fast. but also, don’t expect another mun to bend their muse’s personality if your muse pushes the other. your muse is gonna get their ass whooped if they push a character more powerful than them.

4. plot relationships with canons. feel free to just plot with OC’s if you want to but like… this is how you’re going to feel involved. i know darcy’s first kiss was monty and i’m looking to establish a relationship as to who her first time was too. with my mains, she established a relationship fast with octavia after the dropship landed and considers raven reyes her sister. and if you include the relationships you’ve already established with one muse in your threads with another muse, i cannot even explain how great it feels to know that the development you’ve made with another character matters. your efforts aren’t just being overlooked. yhey matter to your partner’s character.

5. get to know your partners OOC. these people aren’t just characters. they can be such good friends if you find the right people – i’ve been friends with @azkrufisa for seven years now, with @spacebuilt for like two or three, and @indigni for three. i’m going to see him in august and @youngcst and i have been friends for a year now. some of these people follow you to other fandoms and help to make establishing your backstory easier too. i know the friends i’ve listed above keep me going when shit hits the fan. these people can introduce you to new RP partners too, so don’t be a stranger.

6. don’t take it personally. if somebody doesn’t want to write with me, it’s their loss. i know my abilities and i know my character is cool af and you should too. you can easily find other people to write with – that’s the amazing thing about indie roleplaying! you aren’t in a roleplay group as you mentioned above.

i don’t know if i’m missing anything else but these are the things i do that don’t… actually take any effort on my part. they’re just normal to me. none of this is a rule book, but without like… tooting my own horn, i’ve done a damn good job at my OC. i know that. she’s been going strong for almost three years now no matter what fandom she’s in, and i’ve always gotten compliments on my creations. i love seeing OC’s and i want others to be successful, and i’ve made so many good friends. i know other people love my muses too and no matter what people might say, it’s not cool to insult your abilities. know your strengths.
