welp, hi to you as well. i'll try to answer to my best ability, so... my big three are cancer sun and scorpio sun and moon, my eyes are brown, i speak two languages and a half, my go-to app is instagram because i can lose over 5 hours scrolling through reels (and no, i don't like or have tiktok, sorry).

i don't have a favourite dish but anything with potatoes is a blessing, my fav trope would be a tie between enemies to lovers, mutual pining between dumbasses and... unfortunately, miscommunication (because it puts all the drama in there, y'know).

i have no favourites when it comes to music. SWEATS ALL THE WAY. no fav book either, but i love the book thief and the dark tower series by stephen king. no fav show/film either because i watch too fucking many. what i'm currently reading is vanity fair by william thackeray for my uni lectures on victorian literature and i finished watching a comedy trilogy just an hour ago.

think i did the test a while ago... sth like 500 wpm? my major is english philology, but my dream major is creative writing. i have about a hundred husbandos but... estimating mainly by the guys i write about, it would be levi even though in a more realistic situation, eren would be a better fit for my preferences and character lol. as to my otp... kagome and inuyasha from inuyasha, tomoe and nanami from kamisama kiss and misaki and usui from kaicho wa maid sama. like, those are couples i cannot force myself to break up even for the sake of a fanfic.

Hi friend! I'm kind of new to the IY fandom and I love your blog. It's great to hear so many analyses and posts on this series. What are your thoughts on the anime specifically? Love it, hate it? It's personally one of my fav anime, but I know people have their own opinions (particularly comparing it to the manga). :)

Hello! Welcome to the fandom, I hope you’re having a good time despite the chaos, lol.

I kind of have a love/hate relationship with the Inuyasha anime. I read the manga first, and I remember not really liking the anime when I first watched it. I remember not liking “Change the World” specifically, I thought it was a really cheesy song (I do like it now lol). The manga has gore and nudity, and most of that is censored in the anime so it felt more childish. It took me.. at least 10-15 episodes before I felt like I was really enjoying it.

A big issue I have with the anime is that the writers made a lot of nonsensical, useless changes that end up affecting the progression of Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship, Inuyasha’s character development, and Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s relationship. For inukag, it was especially early on when they are just starting to build their relationship. I talked about it a bit here in my list of inukag moments, but basically episode 21 is missing a moment where Inuyasha establishes that he wants to have Kagome by his side, and episode 23 is missing an important discussion that clearly puts the “love triangle” to rest. There’s also several scenes later on where Inuyasha initiates romantic moments, or at least reciprocate, that were changed in the anime. I think all of that lead to people thinking Kagome is “clingy”... When in the manga their relationship is definitely mutual. When it comes to Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s relationship, there’s a great post about the differences here. I think the anime in general made Inuyasha dumber, more violent/impulsive, and they really dragged the whole “he wants to become a full demon” thing for too long, when he gave that up pretty early on in the manga.

But the anime added a lot of moments that I do love, like the conversation between Mama Higurashi & Kagome in episode 48, Kikyo saying goodbye to Kaede when she died, the meido kiss etc. The filler episodes are also generally nice, fun episodes that are a nice break from the more plot heavy stuff. Some of my favorite episodes are filler, the Cultural festival ones! But I don’t really like the ones that try to be too serious or introduce new lore, like the “Plot of the Walking Dead”, the “Panther Devas” arc and "The Sacred Jewel Maker” for example.

I don’t know if it’s an unpopular opinion but I do like The Final Act (the last season). The pacing in the first few episodes is wayyyy too fast, but they skipped over a lot of the Moryomaru arc and he’s my least favorite villain in the series so I wasn’t too disappointed. There’s a few nice chapters that I wish were animated, like the Medicine seller one or the Nikosen arc, but in general I think they nailed the important moments.

When it comes to animation and art style, it is very inconsistent. Some episodes are stunning (any episode that has Shouko Ikeda or Kumiko Takahashi as animation director is *chef’s kiss*) but some art styles also weren’t so great. One that comes to mind is Rie Nakajima, who did episode 31 (Jinenji’s episode) for example... Sorry to this animation director, lol. You can find the list of animation directors here if you’re curious, it basically changes every episode so it can be a bit jarring at times.

I LOVE the work of the voice actors. I watched the Japanese dub first and then the English one, and I honestly love both. People complain about the English dub being bad, but it’s honestly a masterpiece compared to the dub in my first language (French). The English dub is great and has so many iconic, hilarious lines.

Also, the soundtrack is amazing! I think all characters have songs that really suit them, and some songs give me chills when I think of the moment where it was played (like the song The End of the Shikon Jewel for example).

So yeah, overall I think Inuyasha has a very enjoyable anime but I will always prefer the manga when it comes to characterization!

About 5 or 6? But the ones I have more content in is Shadowhunters and Supergirl.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos?

the sg fandom is the most interactive one i’ve been in so 4/5 are sc

all the universe laboured to bring us together (the rest is up to us) - in which Mxyzptlk takes Kara to different earths where they are friends but Lena is in established relationships so Kara can finally realize she's in love with her.

on the way home - The Danvers sisters travel to Midvale for a short vacation and their girlfriends tag along, or for Kara is more like her girl friend.

I’m thinking about adding a little epilogue to this one since i’ve been screamed at in the comments a few times lol

i believe in red - lena starts leaving lipstick marks on kara’s clothes for more reasons than the obvious one,

realization - Magnus suspects it and it takes him three times and a chat with Cat to realize that yes, his soul and Alec’s accidentally bonded.

on purpose - kara believes in soulmates, however when she tells lena about she being supergirl everything goes down the road and she has to start to reconsider what are really soulmates.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

yes, to some of them, there are some comments that i can’t say much to beyond a ‘thanks’ so i don’t always answer them but i read every one of them multiple times, they hit me like crack.

6. A fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending

i’m the happy ending business so there’s no much material to choose from. I have a malec drabble where alec dies from age with magnus by his side. i guess that the end of ‘seven year itch’ as well because they end up divorced but they’re (supposed) to be back in the sequel that one day i’ll finish writing.

7. Do you write crossovers?

No, but sometimes I include characters from the same universe, like in sh i sometimes write lily, she’s in the books but not the show or with sg i really like barry and sarah so i’d like to include them someday.

8. Ever received hate on a fic?

Not really, just some confusing comments in which idk if they’re being sarcastic or not .

9. Do you write smut?

Not very often but yes

Once I was asked if they could translate one of my fics to korean, I said yes but Idk if they ever did it

there’s been sitting in my wip folder a kinda revenant!lena fic (not the movie) that includes like mythology and coincidentally her mom being some water spirit etc, some heavy ansgt with its respective happy ending of course. that fic and also “no turning back”

I never lack ideas, dialogue and narration, I think I’m good identifying the characters personalities (emphasis on i think)

16. Writing weaknesses?

slow as shit, i get so easily distracted that is a victory whenever i write more than a paragraph in a row

it’s fine but i think it’s necessary either to add the meaning on the notes or explain it in the narration

tough one, right now Mama Penguin Adventures is being really fun to write, it’s cute and fun and not that serious, at least what i’ve written so far

🌸Introduction🌸

I’ve been keeping this blog for like three years and it is until now that I’m thinking of introducing myself. Well... not exactly, I did think about it before, but I though it would be cool to do it now since people right now may know me a little bit better (and because I’m bored also). So, here you have some information about the girl who runs this small blog!

Full name: Frida Alejandra Pérez Moreno (In Mexico we use two surnames, first one from dad, second from mom; last surname literally means “brown” as in brown skin, yet my skin is close to white, lol.)

Nickname: Freya

Age: 23.

Birthday: 4th of February.

Country: México (obviously!)

Race: I don’t really know, that’s a whole topic in Latin America since we are the result of a very violent and long gangbang, so I just go with the idea that practically all of us are mestizos (except for indigenous people). My skin colour here is seen as white, but may be not in terms of other countries. Due to some research, I supposedly have a Spanish great grandfather in my mom’s family, but there’s no actual proof; and probably there’s a Yaqui ancestor somewhere in my father’s bloodline, but, again, there’s no proof of that.

Sexuality: Hetero

Religion: Roman Catholic

Bachelor’s: I just finished studying a degree in Translation. I hope some time later I can study History.

Colour: Pink, black, pink, blue, purple, pink and maybe red. Did I said pink?

Hogwarts House: Gryffindor (used to be a Slytherin, lol).

Zodiac: Aquarius.

Food: I got a lot, but principally sushi, any pasta, enchiladas verdes and fish tacos.

Drink: lemon grass tea and soda.

Books: A lot of them. I really love to read. But if I have to choose I’d say The Lovely Bones and Yo, la Peor (the biography of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz). Of course I’m also basic and love dystopian series like The Hunger Games, The Mortal Instruments and so on.

TV shows: The Walking Dead and H2O Just Add Water (until the third season, I didn’t like that one)

Anime: Kuroshitsuji, Shingeki no Kyojin, Inuyasha, and a lot more. I’ve been an otaku for almost 15 years already.

Videogames: Zelda is my ultimate fav. I also like Mario, Animal Crossing and Pokemon.

Movies: There’s just too many to mention them all, lol.

Music genre: I listen to pretty much all types of music, except for some genres like trap, banda, corridos, cumbia and rap.

Languages I speak: I’m a native Spanish speaker and I learnt English since very young, I’m a C1 according to an APTIS test I took. In college I had to learn a third language, so I chose Japanese and I’m currently at a N4 level. I’m learning Portuguese and beginning to grasp some French and German.

Dreams: I always wanted to be a ballet dancer, but couldn’t; now I practice by myself at home and I’m pretty much happy doing it. And I wish I could be a mermaid or a vampire.

Aesthetic: I’m not into the name of aesthetics, but I love anything pink. I also like fantasy. I don’t know if it’s an aesthetic, but I like apocalyptic and survival settings, as in zombie apocalypse. Recently, I’ve been more into fantasy and dark academia.

Wishes: I’d like world peace and this pandemic to be over. Oh, and also happiness for everyone.
