10 BL Boys I Want Carnally
I was tagged by @kennyomegasweave ❤️
Honestly thou, what is attraction? What is wanting carnally? Almost no idea but a slight one
1. Porsche from Kinnporsche. Come on, it's impossible to not drool enough to fill a river to Apo
Tumblr media
2. Zhao Yulan from guardian. Him and this smile made to fuck me over, plus the stupid lollipop. Shen, I know why you waited for centuries
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Babe from pit babe. Okay, but this choice is not exactly babe but pavel? I had the biggest crush on 2moons and honestly that is my fav but I am too old for that pavel now! Although I loved those fucking tattoos
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
4. Kim from Kinnporsche. You know maybe here is my love for Jeff showing because damn he hits hard but also when I look for Kim pictures he is mostly adorable? I am just attract to his cynic baby girls rockstar vibe
Tumblr media
5. Rain from love in the air. He is just so mesmerizing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Xia Yao from advance bravely. But honestly both leads here are such a big cast... The rain scene was spectacular but I was so obsessed over baby girl Xia Yao that is not even funny. I had a picture I was obsessed that i cant find anymore
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Gavreel from Gameboys. Just the way he says baby is my weak spot. My weakest spot is always a pretty smile (see apo above too and others). Nothing can destroy me as much as one and his smile is just...

9. My personal weatherman. Which one? Well you see i do not know how to explain this. Yoh is just so fluffy and just out of this world and I just want to trace Mizuki moles. Together they are just... Ah
Tumblr media
10. Tharn from tharntype. I know controversial, he fucked up a lot but you don't have all the facts! Facts 👇
Tumblr media

Anyway, I had to control myself to not add to many gifs? I want to add more by them become too much. It is all pavel fault!
Is there anybody that hasn't done this challenge yet? It seems like most people had done, if you weren't tag before please feel free to do it. I am tagging @theelast-straw @hyperfocusmadness @jackpoompkin @troubled-mind @telomeke @lookingforshangrila @chocomilkshakeblog @twig-tea because I do not seem to remember they doing it?

Hellooooo, dramas from this past month :) I had a lot of fun watching most of these, which hadn't been happening lately.
The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract, 2023 (kdrama) 7.5/8
A woman from the past travels to the future where she meets a man who resembles her deceased husband. In need of a wife, he strikes a contract with her, and blah blah blah, you know what happens next.
The chemistry was there 100%, the comedy too, but overall, I think it was just a mid watch for me. I was three episodes away from finishing but was struggling big time because I was getting bored.
The Romance of Tiger and Rose, 2020 (cdrama) 8
A scriptwriter ends up inside her own creation as a side character who dies early on in the drama and has a really bad reputation.
This was hilarious. Laughing out loud alone type of hilarious. It didn't make any sense at all, and it was extremely silly and sometimes even frustrating, but both actors were so great with the comedy (Zhao Lusi the actress that you are), so everything was just fun and romantic and cute... and weird enough, emotional af as well. I love these types of dramas where, after watching, you kinda feel empty inside lol. Comfort drama material? 100%
My Demon, 2023/24 (kdrama) 8
A demon becomes powerless after crossing paths with a cold heiress (who he obviously knew in their, guess what? Yes, past lives)
Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang (his character is everything) were so cute in this! Their chemistry was definitely chemistring. I loved the concept and all, but for some reason, I couldn’t put my whole heart into this drama, which resulted in me being a bit disappointed. I’d get bored sometimes. I still don’t know if it’s my problem though. Maybe it wasn't the right time to watch it since I had been watching so many dramas with similar storylines. I’ll give them this, though, these two were truly a comedic duo™️
My Man is Cupid, 2023/24 (kdrama) 8
A love fairy accidentally shoots himself with an arrow and ends up in love with a human, condemning him and his group of cupids to 500 years on Earth. In modern day, he gets entangled with a veterinarian who might be connected to what happened in the past. Also! Murder mystery.
This one just goes to prove that liking a drama is all about vibes for me. Is this different from what I’ve been watching? Nope. It’s not better than the other ones above with similar premises. Yet somehow, unlike the others, it got my attention way more, and I totally binged it. Even when this particular one had some very confusing, probably so-so writing, moments. Granted, it has Nana in it. Nana makes everything worth it (Jang Dong Yoon was cute as well lol).
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, 2010 (kdrama) (rewatch!) 7.5 ⭐️
A cute gumiho saves an irresponsible rich kid who wants to become an action star by giving him her bead. Both of them gotta stick together while he heals.
Like I said back when I first saw this, COMFORT!! And I was in the mood for something silly and sweet after the same themes over and over again. I can't get over how cute Shin Min A and Lee Seung Gi are in this.
Falling Into You, 2022 (cdrama) 9
A student-athlete wants to do high jump but doesn't have the required height for the sport, so a postgraduate student-coach decides to take him under her wing and train him. Noona love story ensues.
So... I have a lot of mixed feelings about it because, all in all, I think this is one of the best cdramas I've watched. It's beautifully shot, the music is incredible, and the pacing, story, characters, and acting are all impeccable. Aside from Meet Yourself (fav ever) it's truly one of the most naturally acted cdramas I've seen so far as well. Even outside the romance part, everything was really good.
Now, was it inappropriate? For me, at least, I think it was. This young student is supposed to be 20, and his coach is said to be about to turn 28. They are both consenting adults (let's put it that way), but the power dynamics thing is still there. Overall, it was a nice surprise, and I completely binged it.
Welcome to Samdal-ri, 2023/24 (kdrama) 9
After a scandal, a famous photographer runs back to her hometown. Her ex, with whom she had an intense fallout (childhood friends to lovers), is there, and it seems like neither of them has moved on. (Also about family, and grief)
From the moment I saw Shin Hye Sun and Ji Chang Wook's pictures next to one another on a tweet saying they were going to be in a new drama together, I knew this was going to be a 10/10 in my books. Maximized joint slay. Add the hometown cha cha cha vibes, and you have an amazing tear-jerker drama. The rest of the cast is a great complement as well; their acting and their stories just make everything really emotional (I cried a lot lol), but it is 100% worth the watch. I'll be honest about one thing, though. As much as I loved it, it took me a while to finish the last two episodes cause I feel like they dragged the story a bit.
Princess Hours/Goong, 2006 (kdrama) 8
In a reimagined modern SK, a girl from an ordinary family gets hitched to the crown prince because of a promise both of their grandparents made in the past. A Diana x Charles x Camilla drama ensues (but like, with a happy ending).
This is what I like to call DRAMA™️. The type you hate everyone's behaviors, and you laugh, and you hate the ML, but you also want him to get with the FL, and you start hate watching, and then you giggle when they share moments and completely forget ML is a really shitty person lol. I started this cause I got sick, and I got way into it. ML being a major asshole and the FL having no self-respect (like the good old dramas and telenovelas) aside, I enjoyed binging this, and I can see why it was so popular. Their romance, though deeply flawed and a product of the time the drama was made, had some great moments, slow burn and natural as well. I was lowkey hoping for a happier ending, tho, but it was cute enough. Also, music bro, that main song is never getting out of my head. Comfort drama material: 100%
Playful Kiss, 2010 (kdrama) 5
FL confesses to ML, and he rejects her harshly. When her house collapses, her father moves them in with an old friend, who ends up being ML's father.
So after Goong, I thought I'd probably be able to watch this. Wrong. Shin's got nothing wrong in comparison so Seung Jo. Seung Jo is probably my most disliked ML ever lol. I binged this, hoping it'd get better, or just like Shin in Goong, he'd change a bit after getting together with FL. But nope, he remained an asshole throughout the whole thing. Gotta love that consistency. Comfort drama material: 1% (I saw the comments on Viki, and I don't know how people rewatched this, lol.)

Because of Changfengdu, i feel like i need to make a list or introductions of the author's novel (墨书白)
The ML's usually crazily devoted and the FL is crazily competent. I will write some of her historical ones first. (English is not my 1st language, so sorry if there's some mistake)
I'll tag @dangermousie and @mercipourleslivres, maybe you guys can enjoy some of this!
长公主 (The Grand Princess)
This one is a double rebirth story of a princess and her estranged husband. They both died (at age 50's) thinking they killed each other. They born in a time before they married. In their new life they started as friends.
Our FL is Li Rong, is a prideful princess and in the 1 st life married our ML Pei Wen Xuan because he's the most handsome XD. The emotional part of this novel feels so delicate and raw. The longings, remorse, regret, especially from the ML really hook me up. The bloody drama also not only come from the main couple but basically everyone. There's no such a thing as npc chara, everyone have their own purpose. I know many people said Li Rong don't deserve Pei Wen Xuan ( nahh do we read the same novel?) Both are at faults. This one is not for the faint heart. Last time i heard they will adapt this into a drama with Zhao Jinmai and Wang Anyu, i don't want them to touch this.
山河枕 (Mountain river pillow aka the eldest wife is my wife)
This one is a rebirth story. Our FL Chuyu already married the 2nd ML in her 1st life. But her love was wasted and her husband didn't treat her right. After being reborn, she choose to married her supposed to be husband, Wei Jun (the eldest son of a border general). You know what happened to the generals who lives in the border right? Right, scapegoat of the politics in the capital.
Short story, the wei general and his 6 son died (including Chu Yu husband) as a traitor in battlefield leaving the youngest son Wei Yun bring his father and brothers coffin. The real story begin here as Chu yu keep helping Wei Yun to keep the Wei family legacy.
Poor Wei Yun, is all that i can say :p.
From the news i see Song Qian and Ding Yuxi name, please just no :(.
论撩世家子的技巧 (the trick to teasing a noble family son)
This is not the famous one but WORTH READING. Oh and this a crossdressing novel. Our FL Wei Lan is a reborn, but not from your usual world. She came from a matriarcal world, when women is the leader in society and men task is in the backyard. When she came to the her new world, the 1st thing she do is change identity with his brother. Yes you hear me right, Wei lan become the brother and her brother Wei Hua become the sister. Our ML is Xie Zichen, also a reborn. He died being betrayed by the prince that he supported.
This novel is hilarious in the beginning as Wei Lan feels like douchebag, and feels that women is far superior than men. She FLIRT a lot. Because her thoughtfulness, all of these men of course being tempted. Our ML too think like that but reverse. But don't worry there's chara development from everyone, i cried a lot and too be honest my fav chara is one of the FL suitor who end up died.
I change my mind, i'll write her Xianxia and modern too here XD.
琢玉 (Carven Jade)
One of my fav danmei together with Yuwu. Our Gong is Fu ChangLing and Shou is Qin Yan (ma babies). This is a rebirth story. In the 1st life Fu Changling killed Qin Yan out of revenge and hate thinking that he is the one who killed his family and bring demise to the cultuvation world, little did he know that Qin Yan did all of that for him.
After being reborn Fcl did everything to keep Qin Yan safe and sound. I love how devoted they are to each other. All the support characters also great. I really love the parents story too.
剑寻千山 (sword of searching mountain)
This is a broken reunion story. Our FL Qin wanwan and our ML Xie Changji were married. The FL didn't know that our ML cultivated the heart of sword way ( the way of being indifferent, throw away feelings and other desires), she think the ML doesn't love her.
Our ML lives with sadness and trauma for hundred years. Our FL sects also meet a demise around this time and it so so sad. This novels feels emotionally heavy.
Xie ChangJi is up there for me for Crazyily masochist obsessed devoted ML. This one is not my fav but have some really good part. All the support chara also awesome.
余生有涯 (rest of my life)
TW : R&pe, Suicid*
This is a modern setting novel but being the heaviest of the bunch. Definitely not for everyone. This is a realistic novel about our FL Ye Sibei who is getting r*pe after office drinking party. Usually her husband pick her up, but he didn't do it on that day.
This is very hard to read for me, only 39 chapters with knife in it. Felt very real, the one that didn't felt real was her husband Qin Nan (definitely doesn't exist). Do not recomend ro read this when you're feeling down. But very uplifting.

Favorite Dramas of 2020:
Flower Boy Next Door (2013)
Tumblr media
FBND will forever be in my top ten favorite dramas of all time. I love a drama that self awarely uses tropes/conventions to subvert audience expectations and say something - it’s the reason I’m able to rewatch Que Sera, Sera. This was a rewatch for me, and as someone who watched it when it first aired and knows the tropes of dramas at the time this is a fun watch. But even if you aren’t someone who grew up watching Korean dramas, this is a fun drama to watch; it’s a good starting point for people who has never seen a k-drama before but don’t want something too heavy (this and Coffee Prince are real good intros). It follows the main character Go Dok Mi, a traumatized and bitter woman who pushes the world away and isolates herself as a means of protecting herself and her learning how to deal with a world that will inevitably hurt you after meeting her manic pixie dream boy neighbor and immediate best friend, Enrique. This drama has one of the best casts and are career highlights for Park Shin Hye, Yoon Shi Yoon, Park Soo Jin, and Kim Seul Gi. I go into more detail why this drama is one of my favs here.
cw: depictions of bullying, men
A Love to Kill (2005)
Tumblr media
Another rewatch and favorite of mine. The complete opposite of FBND, this is a mid 2000s melodrama that does a lot. This marks career highpoints for Rain, who soon after this began to expand his career outside of Korea (notably in Japan and the U.S.) and for a brief period of time reaching mega-star levels of fame, and Shin Min Ah, who is still an acting legend. More importantly to me, this is a career highlight for Kim Sa Rang and the role that made me aware of her. It follows Kang Bok Gu (Rain) who attempts to avenge his brother, who attempted suicide and is in coma, and ruin the life of the woman who jilted him. Unfortunately, Bok Gu finds himself falling for the actress, Cha Eun Suk (Shin Min Ah). How will this forbidden love end? As you can see, this drama is a lot. It also has one of the best soundtracks ever and a unique look to it.
cw: violence, violence against women, attempted rape, sexual assault, just treating women poorly, coerced relationships, poor handling of disability, poor handling of trauma, poor handling of mental illness, on-screen death, not enough Kim Sa-Rang (I go more in depth in here)
Extraordinary You (2019)
Tumblr media
This is not only one of my favorite dramas, it may be one of the best dramas ever made. Like, I would have revolted if Kim Hye Yoon did not win an acting award. This was another rewatch for me, I needed to feel something this year. I don’t want to spoil this for anyone, but don’t be fooled by the first few episodes this quickly becomes a plot heavy and emotional drama (though I would argue it never goes dark). This is an absolute banger of a cast, like I even love some of the background supporting characters. Eun Dan Oh is a rich high-school student with a heart condition that will eventually kill her who slowly becomes aware that she is actually a character in a webcomic and that all of her actions and feelings aren’t actually her own, but predetermined by the author. After learning the fate of her character, she decides to change and decide her own destiny.
cw: violence, it gets very existential
The Romance of Tiger and Rose (2020)
Tumblr media
Finally, something released in 2020. I loved this so much, I watched it twice. This is probably Rosy Zhao’s best drama to date and had stand out performances from Smile Wei and Wu Yi Jia. This is a sort of loving spoof of dramas like Goodbye My Princess, which adds to hilarity if you know what its joking about. It follows screenwriter Chen Xiao Qian who thinks she has written her magnum opus only to be brutally crushed by the lead actor of the production she wrote tells her that her script sucks. Fueled by a need mostly for money but also vengeance, she embarks to write the best script ever with the notes given by the lead actor. However, as soon as she finishes and turns in her new script, she passes out. When she comes to, she realizes that she has transported into her own story as the Third Princess, a character who is quickly killed off. Hijinks ensue as the script keeps going off plot and she tries to get it back on track so she can go back home. I love how drama goes men and women need equality and respect to have healthy relationships (which, like, yeah of course) but also advocates for female supremacy.
cw: violence, attempted sexual assualt, sexism
The Last Empress (2018)
Tumblr media
Not only do I love makjang dramas, but I also believe in Jang Na Ra supremacy. Not only is she is an Actress, she always gives 100% in her projects no matter what, she also always challenging herself in her work. Like, yeah, she chooses some crazy ass things to do but she is never stagnant. I’d also love Shin Sung Rok in this drama, he is unhinged in the best way. This drama is nearly impossible to describe, but just know that you will never guess where it is going, just accept that and relax into this slowly boiling pot of a drama. Set in an alternate universe where Korea is a constitutional monarchy, Oh Sunny (Jang Na Ra) is a musical actress who ends up marrying the emperor. She tries to find true love and happiness while trapped within the power struggle and a series of murders that threatens the existence of the monarchy. I love this drama cause it goes, actually a monarchy is a bad idea idiot, they are so corrupt you can not even fathom it. Also, the crown princess vlogs.
cw: violence, violence against women, on screen death, depictions of murder/attempted murder
Long Vacation (1996)
Tumblr media
If any Japanese drama can be called iconic and revolutionary, it would be this one. Not only was it a huge cultural phenomena in Japan (I cannot overstate how big this was, like it created new slang) and is a huge touchstone in Japanese pop culture (so many things are inspired by, try to emulate, and are affected by this drama), it also has one of the hottest casts ever. It gave us the iconic collaboration between Kimura Takuya and Yamaguchi Tomoko. While the nuances of the story may seem cliché and standard now, this was the one that started it all and it holds up very well. This is a character driven drama and one I’d recommend going in blind for.
cw: cheating
30-sai made Dotei Dato Mahotsukai ni Narerurashii (2020)
Tumblr media
I’m often very warry when I get recommended media based off the fact that it’s gay, I got recommended Ossan’s Love that way and that is some of the worst shit I have ever seen. I am, however, glad I gave this drama a chance, it’s one of the best dramas I’ve seen out of Japan in while and one of the best gay dramas. This also invented a new way to talk about fucking without directly talking about fucking. Based off source material of the same name (don’t look for it, it’s real bad. Like, homophobically bad. Trust me, this takes the concept and expands on it and makes it good), this follows Adachi Kiyoshi (Akaso Eiji) who lives a quiet simple life, that is until he turns 30 and gains the magical ability to read other people’s minds by touching them due to his virginity. While at first overwhelmed, he eventually adjusts to his ability. This all changes when touches Kurosawa Yuichi (Machida Keita) and learns that he has romantic feelings for him. This is a light romantic comedy that doesn’t get too heavy; it also has other gay characters and an asexual character which is rare in romance dramas (ace characters are far more common in Japanese media, though they use asexual to mean something more along the lines of aroace unless otherwise specified).

you got xianxia recs 👀
disclaimer but i mostly only watch xianxias focused on romance so thats kind of recs i can give but there are other good ones out there with a mix of genres too.
out of recent watches off the top of my head: ancient love poetry (not for everyone i think? i had rly low expectations going in cos everyone said it was slow and boring but i ended up liking it and got invested a lot more than i expected to. more than the romance i think it has fleshed out supporting characters who are interesting to watch which is super rare in romance xianxias as far as i've watched and i think the mythology and set up of the world is interesting n different compared to the other cookie cutter xianxia dramas about gods, mortals etc. this yr is kinda bland in terms of dramas for me and ALP was a def. stand out. BUT the ending is abrupt and kinda sucks. ), miss the dragon ( but only worth watching for the second couple imo who are super cute, u might be better off just watching their clips on youtube, i literally only watched their scenes i couldn't tell you what happened in the rest of the drama even if u held a gun to my head).
some of my other favs: love and redemption (not THE most coherent writing out there lmao but if u like angst and misunderstandings and miscommunication like me its pretty fun and wild to watch. warning! its pretty messy and it could be A Lot to take in. i would cut this drama into three parts- first wave of misunderstandings, second wave of misunderstandings and the climax arc where everything is out in the open. first wave is still fun to watch but second wave of misunderstandings become overkill and it gets taxing to watch until u get to the climax arc where it becomes fun again.)
ten miles of peach blossoms ( a recent classic in the xianxia genre and its pretty tropey but its still fun and super addictive to watch once u get into it. also its nice seeing yang mi finally comfortable in a role and finding her niche.)
love and destiny ( set in the same world as tmopb and not as addictive as tmopb but its a lot more well written and just more....well put together? could be due to the more mature/ experienced actors but the main romance is a lot more understated and not as dramatic as tmopb. its more on the quiet and sweet side even if they do have their dramatic life and death moments. i remember the side romance being pretty good too. the ending was also very ????? but it didn't make me mad so whatever.)
the legends ( starts off strong but the writing slowly derials and the editing is a mess but worth watching for the romance and the dynamic btw zhao yao and mo qing and her and zhi yan, might be my fav bai lu role to date)

Anon-Nemesis - Right, I’ve got some free time, so I’ll have to make this a quickie, but I thought about my answers while at a boring family lunch thing.
Favorite Character: Ozai (The way you write him anyway, he’s pretty meh in canon))
Least Favorite Character (one who’s constantly there): I do have a few less than liked minor characters, but none of them are “Constantly There” So I have no good answer for this.
Favorite “Antagonist”: Ozai & Ol’ Spooky (Seethus) Lets face it, Ozai is the big papa of baddies, quite literally, and Ol’ Spooky spooked me good in his arc, at least till Azula and Xin handed him his own ass on a golden platter. I’m listing them together because you sort of portray them as a team where Seethus is just an extension of Ozai’s will personified (I might’ve picked Zhao too, but he hasn’t actively opposed our main duo too much so far, so instead I will pick)
Favorite OC: Rui Shi, duh. The guy has been there nearly from the start and has had Azula back even back in the early days when she was quite a jerk and hadn’t been, uh, tamed by Sokka (lol, not my best choice of words but I’m sticking to it, Azula might find the idea privately amusing these days but would kill me for sure for saying it like that) I feel like Goro would be high on this list, as would Ol’ Spooky, but we seen too little interaction with either for me to list them.
Favorite Gladiator: Aside from Sokka and Toph; My fav is The Millennium Dragon. Runners up The Alchemist (Well his sponsor is more interesting than him) Special Shout Out to the Dart Slayer, he jobbed so hard he got Sokka recruited (Was it Dart Slayer? Shit, it was so long ago) and a last conflicted entry, Rhone, I like what he represents (Basically Evil Sokka) but I don’t like him as a person, the dude is a straight asshole who needs a good thrashing.
Favorite Suitor or a Suitor I wished would make moves on Azula: Toph, I don’t mean in a shipping sense, but just Toph could mess with Azula and offer to marry her as a joke or something. Azula’s reaction would be priceless. A more serious answer, Zhao, He may be a douche, but I kind of like the guy in Gladiator, he’s not quite morally grey, but he does seem to only want the best for Azula, or his idea of the best, which ain’t actually the best for her.
Most Relatable Character: The young dude who works the desk at the Royal Dome, Shouji I think its spelled, such a timid little fellow, yet so composed since he’s always coming face to face with some of humanities mightiest people, the Gladiators, and scummiest people, sponsors. Plus he knows his business and does his job effectively. Supporting Sokka’s career is also nice. Also, special shout out to Keno. Wait, who was he again? Ah nevermind, probably nobody important. Anyway, where was I? …
Character I’d like to see more: Ol’ Spooky, mainly, that creeper really fascinates me, Its funny how he and Azula are frightened of eachother even though Azula would effortlessly waste his ass. I want to know how Ozai keeps the loyalty of someone that dangerous. Is he even human? Or some ancient fire spirit? He’s one of the biggest mysteries you’ve got going. Goro is one I really hope you develop, He’s got a nice fatherly, or grandfatherly vibe that could be a much needed point of stability for Azula in part 3.
Favorite Canon (Gladiator canon)Pairing: Main Duo aside, Rui and Song were my number 1, but lately Ozai/Ursa has stolen it (Even though Ursa is gone.
Favorite Non-Canon Pairing: I can only come up with joke pairings I’m afraid, but. One sided Ty Lee X Ozai (The mental image of Mr. propper n serious, but buff, handsome Firelord with that bubbly bundle of joy hanging off his arm, bugging him to take her somewhere fun. I can’t stop laughing, he just wants her to get lost, and Azula is deeply worried about her friend’s sanity) Azula X O'l Spooky, or Azula X Sparky Sparky Boom Man (No matter which way you slice it, its one big, powerful and passionate fire storm, loud and explosive, silent and deadly, and each hella destructive) Okay fine, I’m only thinking of their bending, not the characters themselves. Sokka X Boomerang/Sword/Club (Wholesome until you realize he’s having a foursome with his own armory. Hell, let’s throw Azula into the mix, she can bring her own sword. Man, that’d be a dangerous bed, so many sharp and pointy accidents waiting to happen. But maybe Space Sword X Wolf’s Bane, they fight together, and snuggle together, just like their owners.
Favorite Arc: Tough call. Its a rivalry between Giving In arc, Slave Riot arc, Fire Lord’s Shadow and Air Temple arc for 2nd place. But 1st Place goes to combined Whaletail Island/Shu Jing arcs with how well they flow together, you outdid yourself with them, fluffy as half of them were
Favorite Place/Location:
 Part 1 or Part 2?:
I wished to see Sokkla more in/like … :
Guessing Game: Guess how good/bad I am at guessing games.
Finish the following sentences: “They don’t? I guess they were probably too busy looking at your… a-at… y-your ? ? ?” (Yeah, spot that one motherF-ers, I dare you.)
I think Azula & Sokka’s relationship will be revealed when/like/because of … Their own inability to exert willpower over their horny impulses. In other words their own reckless stupidity.
I believe at the end of Part 3 … Ozai gonna die, that’s about all I’m certain of. The invasion happens, lots of death and destruction. Since Aang ain’t a killer, my money is on Aang defeating Ozai but its Katara or The White Lotus who kill him. I don’t think Azula could do it though no matter how much she comes to hate her dad. Sokka won’t either since Azula still cares about Ozai, he’s still her papa. Besides, Azula may be too busy having a violent ass knockdown drag out deathmatch with Ol’ Spooky to keep him off the heroes backs, she wins and Ozai loses his two greatest assets. Ozai fights to the bitter end, ignoring Azula’s pleas for him to surrender, he’s too far gone in his hubris, his ego and his rage at Azula’s betrayal by then. Afterward, happy-ish ending, bittersweet, but Azula becomes Fire Lord, Sokka becomes Fire Lady, and has lots of kids and rule happily everafter, of 5 minutes ever after since those two can’t stop attracting trouble.
I’m glad you had a chance to join in! :D thank you for that submission, my friend!

Helllu! I see you've been watching lots of chinese/korean dramas. Can you rec your favs?
Hello!! Of course I can n.n (sorry it took so long to answer, I kept making changes to this aha). I’ve decided to list my current top 3 favourites, because apparently I’ve watched a lot.
Okay guys, here goes.
Chinese dramas:
So lately the past year or so of my life has been consumed by cdrams (and recently kdramas by extension), but here are some of my faves that I’ve watched.
The Untamed
Tumblr media
Anyone who follows my blog knows my crazy obsession with this amazing show. It’s based off of a novel called the Grandmaster of demonic cultivation (has an anime with the same name– s2 is slowly being released right now). The story takes place in a world ruled by the evil Wen Sect. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan cross paths and become good friends (hardcore bromance). Wei Ying tries to save innocent Wen from death, and in the end, he lost almost everything. After going missing for 16 years, the pair find each other again and try to find the real villain.
It’s full of action, mystery, adventure, heart ache, supernatural ghouls, longing, whumping, and an amazingly attractive cast that should honestly be illegal. If you’re looking for a show with lots of emotional pain that will swallow you whole, then you’re in the right place.
P/s. the 2 mains sing their love song which makes it that much more beautiful/painful.
Ps/s. IT ALSO JUST GOT PUT ONTO NETFLIX GUYS. No excuses not to binge it, and when you do, dm me so we can fangirl together.
Guardian
Tumblr media
Another drama based off of a novel, with gay bros, longing, and adventure. Shen Wei is an immortal (kind of), and currently a university professor that has been waiting centuries for his lover/friend (Yunlan) to repay him for what he gave Shen Wei and will do anything for him. Zhao Yunlan is the head of the SID, a department that solves mysteries and crimes with supernatural origins. Together they help save others, solve mysteries, and save the world from Shen Wei’s evil twin brother.
All I can say about this one is that if you haven’t seen it, you’re seriously missing out (but warning, the cgi is horrible lmao). It was also super amazing seeing Zhu Yilong in a main role like this. The king of micro-expression seriously doesn’t let us down.
Legend of Fuyao
Tumblr media
This show had consumed my soul for about a full month and a half until I finished it. When I finished watching, it left me sad that it was over. Got to be honest, the ending is still a bit confusing, but is still worth the watch. This is an epic love story about Fuyao, an orphan looking for adventure, but gets caught in a fight between kingdoms and destiny. Along the way, she meets the Crown Prince and they fall in love, but destiny has their fates already decided. They are on the opposite sides of good and evil and need to decide whether one lives and the other dies. It’s got amazing fight scenes and a really attractive male lead (his first lead in a show I believe). Super amazing acting, because let’s be real, any show with Yang Mi is an automatically good show. She’s just too amazing.
Other honourable mentions: Granting you a dreamlike life, Eternal Love, Untouchable Lovers, the Rise of Phoenixes, Detective L– were amazing shows I could rewatch until I die.
Side note: I am super excited for Xiao Zhan’s Jade Dynasty. So hopefully that movie will be available to us soon.
Korean Dramas:
All right guys. I’ve only recently started watching korean shows about half a year ago or so, so I haven’t seen too many, but the ones I have seen I’ve fallen into a deep love with that keeps me going lol.
My Country: The New Age (ongoing)
Tumblr media
This show only has 8 episodes so far and I can’t tell you all how amazing this show is. Words can literally not even describe how much it’s consuming every waking second of my life right now. I think the main reason is Seon ho, who started off as someone you respect, but is constantly doing bad shit. He tries to salvage good things from the wrecks he keeps making, but who knows how long that will last. He is ambiguous and slowly turning into a villain. He is slowly turning into the things he wants to destroy and it’s heartbreaking. My heart aches for him and Hwi all the damn time. I just want them to be bff again and stop fighting, but of course this won’t happen. This show has political turmoil and a country at war with a royal family and council who just wants to watch the world burn. Of course, this means manipulating everyone to get what they want, but both Hwi and SH are trying to play their own game, accidentally putting themselves against each other constantly. Watch for heart break, friendship (sometimes), and very attractive male leads aha.
Also, the music is 1000000 thumbs up. All I can say is PLEASE WATCH IT AND FREAK OUT WITH ME.
It’s on netflix, so guys, no excuse lol (DM me to fangirl with me
Black
Tumblr media
I don’t want to spoil too much about this show because it’s honestly an experience. It’s about a girl who can see when people are going to die because of the shadows that follow them. She meets a childhood friend, who has a secret, and he asks her to help him solve crimes and protect people from dying, but of course he has his own plans. Get ready for a funny and badass female lead guys.
It’s the first korean drama I watched and will always be one of my faves. It’s an incredible murder-mystery story with more layers than a damn onion. It’ll keep you on your toes and the ending makes me cri evry tiem.
Arthdal Chronicles
Tumblr media
At first I thought this show was kind of weird, but an episode in and I was hooked. This show is difficult to explain, but it starts with a war between Arth and the Neanthal. 2 legendary babies get separated and live in opposite parts of the country. This show is hard to describe but it follows the 3 mains, Eunsom, Tanya, and Saya (and Tagon/ Taelha lol) and their fight through tragedy, and sometimes hell on Arth (lol – like hell on earth – am I funny yet). It’s all about a fight for power and revenge among the tribes. Every single character in this show has a different reason, but they all want power to get revenge, basically.
The fantasy aspect of this show and the different ‘species’ are incredible. It does get very political, but the fun of it is all the plotting, and how the characters fix their plans that don’t work out. Half way through I kept screaming at my TV for the mains (Tanya/Saya specifically) to just fkking talk to each other ughhh. Also, Saya will be my favourite unstable boy forever.
It has 18 episodes on netflix so far, but just signed up for 2 more seasons (thank god because if they stopped at 18 eps I’d pull a Rosa Diaz and kill everyone and then myself -.-”). I can’t wait for it to come back. GIVE ME MORE CONTENT.
Other honourable mentions: Hwarang, Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung (not finished it yet, which is why it’s not up in my top 3), Missing 9, W Two worlds, Warrior Baek Dong Soo.
Thanks for reading and requesting!
I am always looking for new shows to watch, so send me recs too. I find my favourite ones are the historical dramas. But let me knoww!

Hi Wei! Thanks for the prompt weekend! ❤️ If you're up for some Xigu Haoting, I'm really missing them, the ao3 tag cannot fill me 😭. My fav is mafia! AU Xigu, for some Tangfei and Jackzi as the cherry on top. Sooo... We've seen Haoting sweat in the uncles' presence, but how about him getting the approval stamp officially? 🙏
If you’ve missed it, Anon is talking about the fics Meet Uncle Fang and Meet Uncle Tang. i wouldn’t necessarily say this is a mafia!AU Xigu, but he is definitely a lot more nonchalant than canon Xigu would be over such things... In any case, let’s see what would cause two scary uncles and their husbands to agree to Haoting!
------
Yu Xigu was not entirely unaware of the pasts his uncles might have had. And what pasts they were, a gang boss and a mercenary. But he knew that they had moved on from them, had become new and different people, and would do their best to protect him. So far, they had not failed. There was never a single incident.
But today, as Xigu stared down a thin man with a knife, claiming to be his Uncle Tang’s right hand man, Xigu wondered if he’d been a little too relaxed.
“You- You’ll take me to him! Take me to Tang Yi!” The man took a step forward and Xigu took a step back. “He needs me! That Meng Shao Fei is ruining everything!”
“I don’t...”
“You can also call me uncle! You’re Tang Yi’s nephew. I’m your Uncle Li Zhide!”
Zhide advanced once more and Xigu stood his ground, ready to tell him to stop. Then there was a sudden shout and all the kilos of muscle that Haoting had to bear slammed into Zhide’s side, tackling him into the ground.
“Xiang Haoting!”
“You! You stay away from my Xigu!” Haoting grappled with Zhide for the knife, strength battling insanity and desperation.
Xigu moved to intervene, but Haoting pulled Zhide further away. “Xigu! Call your uncles! Hurry!”
Xigu scrambled for his phone as Haoting finally pulled the knife away from Zhide. “Uncle Zhao Zi! You need to come quick! There’s a guy with a knife!”
“A WHAT?!”
------
Later that evening, Xigu and Haoting were in the spare bedroom at Tang Yi’s as the adults pondered what to do in the kitchen. Li Zhide had been just barely captured thanks to Haoting’s foolish bravery, but his escape from prison was another problem that had to be solved.
“He should not have been able to get out,” Tang Yi said as he stirred the soup on the stove. Next to him, Jack sliced homemade dried sausage and ham. “Any leads on how that happened?”
Zhao Zi shook his head as Shaofei returned from making phone calls. “One lead, a guard he managed to bribe,” Shaofei announced as he sat down. “I had him taken in for questioning.”
“Let me do the questioning,” Jack said over his shoulder. “I’ll get him to talk real easy.”
“You can’t question him, you’re not a police officer,” Zhao Zi said without blinking.
“He threatened my nephew, I’m going to question him no matter what.”
“Let us do our jobs, Liangdian,” Shaofei said quietly, the use of Jack’s proper name a gentle reminder. “If you get involved, you’ll get dragged back into the mess you and Ah Yi just left behind.”
Jack inhaled sharply, but his knife did not pause. “Then I’ll leave you to it.”
“But you know, you really should thank Xiao Xiang...” Zhao Zi added. “If he didn’t intervene...”
“He could have lost his life,” Jack said without hesitation. “He’s a fool.”
“And are you saying, that you would have rather he left Xigu to be hurt?”
“I’m saying he has no training.”
“So...” Shaofei and Zhao Zi shared a look and a smile. “Are you saying you’re going to train him?”
Jack put down his knife and looked at Tang Yi, who paused in stirring his soup.
“Invite the boys down, dinner will be ready soon.”
------
“What you did today was very dangerous,” Jack said as Haoting reached over to start putting carrot slices in Xigu’s bowl. The piece held between Haoting’s chopsticks fell back into the serving dish. “You could have died.”
“Uncle Fang, Haoting was-”
“As long as Xigu isn’t hurt, I’ll bear whatever consequences protecting him comes with,” Haoting said. “And I won’t regret it.”
“And?” Jack admired the tips of his chopsticks, as if contemplating how he could kill a man with them. “Will your bravado continue as dangers increase? As more dangerous men come for my nephew?”
“It will.” Tang Yi looked up from his dishes at Haoting’s determined tone. “I will make sure Xigu is safe. Always.”
“Pft, always. You barely managed today. You’re lucky you’re so much younger and heavier than that Li Zhide. Once upon a time, he was almost a match for Captain Meng over there.”
“What do you mean almost?! He was never a match for me,” Shaofei protested.
“My point is,” Jack started again, “That Xiao Xiang has no training. No way for properly defending my Xiao Gu. This is not acceptable.” Jack put several pieces of meat in Zhao Zi’s bowl. “You will come train with me once a week until I am satisfied that you can protect my nephew.”
“T-Train?”
“Tang Yi and Captain Meng will train you in firearms.”
“What?!”
“Welcome to the family, Xiao Xiang,” Tang Yi said with finality.
Haoting collapsed in his chair, but Xigu pat his shoulder all the same. “Uncles have finally approved of you, Haoting!”
“What part of this constitutes approval? Xiao Gu, did I just join the mafia for you?!”

this actually has nothing to do w/ peko but I wanted to talk about it here anyway because @remnantgear / @conductingmiracles actually idk what blog you want me to tag chess please come back drew our ocs together for my birthday. i actually was making a blog for this guy in particular, and i may eventually finish doing that at some point cause he’s become one of my favs. he’s developed enough to become indie too but dr is where his roots are.
Tumblr media
This would be Fang Zhao the SHSL Moirologist / Professional Mourner (my boy) and Hisa the SHSL ??? even I don’t know what her talent is im dying. Chess assures me that they’d be friends because they’re both gremlin children and I trust her.
It already looks like they’re up to some bullshit, or just sharing stories because i’m sure Hisa has a lot herself.

hi i hope you're having a good day! so what's your favorite character at the moment? do you ever have characters that you're like I Love You More Than Life Itself? because i do, they just become so special to me! sending love!! - 🎅
hi!! It’s evening over here - I’m actually going to bed in an hour or two!
*cracks knuckles* ok let’s go-
I’ve been a bl fan since mid-2018 I think? In that time, I’ve watched more bl shows than can possibly be healthy. I’m currently watching ten (god save me) and always on the look-out for more.
Gaya sa pelikula aired recently and honestly? comfort show. I loved it sm. I felt for both the main characters, Karl and Vlad, so deeply. They were so relatable, and as someone queer myself, I was so glad to see people on my screen that reminded me of my own journey. Karl esp, man, loml and way too relatable for my heart to take.
and my all time loml: HIStory 3: trapped. Was it perfect? Fuck no. but I will defend those boys and also Hong Ye with my life if I have to. I loved all the cps, but will admit the dynamic of Jack and Zhao Zi was my all-time favorite. literally the best bl on earth. I would also die for Hong Ye fyi
also: cherry magic. hi. my babes. Kurosawa is the loml (I have a lot of lomls) since ep 1. If he were real, I would marry him, just so u know. I can relate to Adachi a lot too, and their dynamic?? great. fantastic.to die for. cannot WAIT for next ep.
anyway I don’t think u were expecting an entire essay but my soul is filled with passion for these shows and characters and no, I will not shut up about it. I’m still filled w energy from the BTS grammy nom, which I have alr written essays worth ab on twitter so I’ll spare u that, and I’ll also spare u my excitment for manner of death rn.
I hope ur day is good!! I am kinda curious now though, what is ur fav show/characters? who can u relate to? oh, and I’m curious if u like the same shows I do or completely different ones!! sending love back :33

more random thoughts as i finish season 2....
some of my favorite moments are when the kids are cheering each other on, its the cutest thing!!!
he yifan and zuo qibo fanboy screaming over liu ye’s rap in ‘boy in luv’ and yu gengyin and cai xukun’s relay chanting “jin ming!” “jia you!’ and ofc “dai jing” “yao na ka!!!!!” hahahahhaha i love their friendship and i love silly gengyin!!! literally even when getting off the car this ep he was so silly and when he was about to go on stage and he was like aight kids i got this, i love seeing him being less stressed ahhhh
OOF THEY LABELED IT AGAIN
Tumblr media
awww HE WONNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHH when it got announced, i literally clutched my chest and was like ‘my childdddddddddd’ aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh honestly i wasnt gonna be surprised if zuo qibo won this round but IM SO PROUD OF XIAO YU awwwwww he did so well!!!! he like worked really hard to give off a mischievous/ bad boy aura and i think it was such a refreshing and well-executed change for him that it left a strong impression c: whereas qibo is normally already very flower boy / nice guy so i dont think it was as impactful for him to continue playing a role he already embodies normally, altho he was very good-looking on this stage!! but gengyin really went out of his way to try to act cool and carry himself with that kind of aura of handsomeness / arrogance that he’s not really used to portraying and im super proud of him for pulling it off :’) continuously saying ‘我不夠壞’ hahhahhaa but similar to in the sakura stage where he was commended for his powerful stage presence, he’s continuing to build on his new improvements and im super happy he’s still riding on this high c: last ep ‘on rainy days’ i was thriving on hearing his voice smooth over those high notes and this ep’s song wasnt as lyrical, but he still managed to get some vocalizations in and im loving all this extra camera time and focus on his eye smiles. watching gengyin just smile and seeing his eyes crinkle up just makes me so happy inside c: oh! and then when he walks back into the waiting room and hes like “yaayy 努力沒有白費 yaaaaayy!!!!!” im just ooof my heart im so happy for him :’)
also i gotta say, huadi’s attitude towards liuye is kinda scary? I know theyre all being competitive and thats the nature of this show but like liu ye kept telling him to back off basically (and not even for his own sake, but bc he knew huadi’s dancing intensity was negatively affecting jin ming and also the cohesiveness of their group overall) and huadi was still like ‘i need to show myself off so i can win’ and i felt like his attitude was off, like ‘obviously im the best, thanks’ which later became ‘i cant believe i lost, what did he do better’ whereas liu ye was also very confident but to me he came off as less intense and more calm. like ‘i know im the best, so you can go ahead and try to upstage me, but ill just do my best on my end and quietly watch you sabotage yourself’ at least thats how i perceived it .-. but idk yea i enjoyed watching liu ye more and it felt like huadi was trying too hard. but i am glad that huadi and muti resolved their issues last ep
daidai’s stage presence during ‘overdose’ tho? he was really handsome!!! i dont normally react much to daidai’s performances but idk this time i really noticed him in contrast to jeffrey and yongju. i think he just seemed more confident than usual and all the little smiles helped. his hair flipping reminded me of muti and his sass LOL
its really interesting to see cai xukun’s progression through this show and how everyone around him reacts as he goes through this growth process. i would say he wasnt given an absurdly greater amount of screentime but you can tell hes been building up credibility and holds a strong rank among the rest. i would say its not realllyy until the last few eps of season 2 that he pulls ahead of the rest by a significant amount. i was always thinking wu muti was a strong competitor to him but after seeing them and he yifan’s stage, it was pretty clear to me that cxk had successfully exceeded everyone else and ascended to his own level. watching the process through which he gradually builds his now-signature stage presence and now-signature voice is really fascinating and near the end of the season, he already can overshadow everyone else. it seems like huadi is very vocal about how handsome kun has become on stage, yifan doesnt hesitate to admit how good kun is, and gengyin has already admitted early on that they all should learn from kun. zuo qibo is also quick to commend kun but then it seems like muti avoids it? i can kinda guess he might be a bit jealous bc hes always been complimented and lauded on stage but then after he lost so significantly to cxk, im guessing that would be a blow to him. on the show, cxk and wmt both seem very very eager to promote themselves and are very willing to fight for opportunities that they each deem best for themselves. unlike some of the other kids who are more willing to work for the team as a whole more. not that the two of them are bad at teamwork, but i think they definitely arent afraid to demonstrate that they want to stand out and i think thats important in this industry and likely part of how cxk got so ahead. its just interesting to compare this cxk to the cxk on idol producer who knew at that point that he didnt need to fight to stand out because he already did, and he tried so hard to help the other kids around him.
i feel like i should redo my current ranking list, but i guess with the kids who are on the show this time? (minus the s2 kids, bc lets face it, theyd be at the very bottom anyway) rn its mostly tiered like 1, then 2-7, then 8-10. i appreciate liu ye being a good teacher and leader and the way he yifan seems to be able to joke around with everyone and keep their spirits up. muti’s fireiness kinda scared me in the last few eps but i appreciate that he was mature enough to talk it out with huadi and admit he had been too stressed/riled up lately.
gengyin
muti
liu ye
cai xukun
he yifan
zuo qibo
zhao pinlin (gosh im sad hes so injured)
dai jingyao
huadi
yongju
HAHAHAHHA THE PART WHERE ZFZ CHALLENGES THEM TO AN AB BATTLE AND YGY STEPS UP AND EVERYONES IN SHOCK BUT HE JUST RUNS DOWN THE LINE TO PUSH DAIDAI TO THE FRONT HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA i love a true silly boy
its just so interesting bc the latter half of this season (after ygy gets nominated for elimination i guess) feels like they enjoy giving ygy camera time and attention and esp ep 8 onward hes gotten so much positive feedback ive just been amazed and so happy. and now at the end... you can tell hes really pushing himself bc hes seen that he can do well and that if he really goes above and beyond he really does have a good chance, and seeing his confidence go up with each stage that he performs well is really gratifying and im so proud of him, seeing how determined and driven he is. i just find it funny how confident he is about rap all of a sudden HAHHAHA i mean he did do very well rapping during the sakura stage and the judges did compliment him a lot for it so i cant blame him.
omgosh the part where the teacher tells muti that he’s already lost to cxk bc cxk got picked during the first round and he hasnt yet....... oof if this is how they talk to him and they keep comparing him to cxk saying their styles are alike but cxk is better, i can see why he’d have some negative feelings towards the matter. the kid’s literally a child, i dont think this is the right way to motivate him....... liu ye patting his head to comfort a pouting muti aw
because now its my duty to screenshot every time they label his smile !!! and this one even labels it as his “cute signature smile” ahhhHHHH THEY KNOW
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAHAHHAHA SO I WAS TALKING TO MY SISTER and she sent us pics of her new boyfriend and i was like lol im still single BUT ive been watching a new show and i have a new bias HAHAHAH and i proceeded to show her pictures of yu gengyin i have saved on my phone HAHAHAHHA and she was like “he looks just like your type” HAHHAHAHAHAHA SHE KNOWSSS but yea i was like ‘LOOK HOW SMILEY HE IS!!!” and she was like “the dog is cuter” AHAHAHAHHAHA but its ok shes used to this. and it just reminded me of the time i showed her the ip PPAP perf with zhengting and she like straight up guessed zhengting was my fav in that perf and i was like LOL YES and she was like hE LOOKS LIKE YOUR TYPE hahahHHAHHAHahahhaAHAHAHAH my type is somewhere along the lines of zhengting and gengyin yes.
huadi’s never-ending battle of fighting to be seen as more than a dancer... to be continued during afo :(
zuo qibo’s struggle of feeling the pressure of being an old man..... feels bad :(
aw he yifan is really so cute. hes def really improved and really doing well, but i feel like his stage presence could still be stronger. its nice to know that during afo he does really shine stage presence-wise and grows to become more mature, more respected, and a group leader as well.
man its so nice to see daidai really thriving and confident and owning these stages because honestly i feel like on the shows ive seen him in since, including produce camp, hes given me the impression of someone whos lost his confidence and doesnt get to show his skills. i really hope he still has this super-idol version of himself in him because he really shines here, and i think it makes him seem even more handsome than just his appearance alone. oof its just hard bc this show really loves him and the judges really love him and hes so well-supported and encouraged and i think it makes a big difference in his confidence level. i feel like on other shows he hasnt been valued nearly as much and its really sad bc the kid just seems so much less confident.
HAHAHAHA IM SORRY EVEN THO I KNEW IT WAS COMING BC OBVIOUSLY I KNOW THE FINAL LINEUP OF SWIN BUT OMG EVERYONE WAS SOOOOO SURPRISED HE YIFAN MADE IT OVER ZUO QIBO AND IM LAUGHING AHHAHAHHAHAHAH EVERYONE’S LOOK OF ASTONISHMENT IS TOO MUCH AHAHHAHAHA NO ONE HAD FAITH IN HE YIFAN ISTG HAHAHAHHAHA EVEN HE YIFAN HIMSELF IS LIKE WAT HAHAHHAAHHHAAH BUT THEN HIS ADORABLY BRIGHT SMILE IN CONTRAST WITH EVERYONE’S SHOCKED FACES IS ALSO HILARIOUS HAHAHHAHA this situation is just terrible but hilarious at the same time /sigh/ rip zuo qibo im sorry youre old but cant win :( honestly tho i can understand why they picked he yifan bc he does have more to offer the group than qibo :( considering they put daidai in and they already have yongju (and im assuming yu gengyin will be the last one) and even muti and liu ye sing (and i guess pinlin can also be considered a backup lol).... having another lead vocal isnt gonna to contribute much versus he yifan’s low tone rap. he yifan is really a cute little bean tho. oof the way he runs straight into cai xukun’s arms oof friendship
sigh so i guess its after this that yongju gets kicked out bc china (poor kid...) and then at some point daidai leaves and they randomly add in pinlin after he recovers? even tho he wasnt in like half of season 2? lol but i guess he was never eliminated.... so technically that puts him ahead of zuo qibo in terms of next-in-line to be a vocalist? but i guess honestly everyone knows that if pinlin hadnt left the show due to his injury, he wouldve been the main vocal of leo’s group, not zuo qibo. so i guess in a way as long as pinlin recovered in time, he would be considered the best vocalist to add to swin-s. and then they pull some eliminated kids to become swin-e..... going back to watch the “new world” mv is really a trip every single time. i feel like i watched it for the first time after watching ip and literally only recognized cai xukun, and every time after, i recognized a few more kids, after afo, after pdc, and after finishing super idol 1, i finally recognized all of them. but now, after watching season 2, it feels like i finally actually understand why they got picked and i truly appreciate all 6 of them. I think its really amazing to see yu gengyin go from being ranked #1 in the very first audition on the first season, to being so close to getting eliminated in season 2, to being the last one chosen to get a super card at the end of s2, to being a main vocal in “new world”, and truly truly owning that song. i mean besides cai xukun obviously upstaging everyone with his stage presence as usual, but i mean now when i listen to the song (not even watching the mv) and im really paying attention to who’s singing what part, whose voice really gets to shine and gets to dominate the song, its yu gengyin. maybe im biased or maybe its just expected since he is the main vocal, but i guess it just amuses me that i never noticed that before when i watched this mv without knowing him. now i know whose voice it is that is carrying their debut song and it makes it so special. from listening to later swin songs, i feel like zhao pinlin eventually gets himself a much larger cut of the main vocal position (to the point of surpassing gengyin even?), but i mean that is a whole other story, and i think it does flow into zhao pinlin becoming the ultimate main vocal once gengyin leaves. interestingly zuo qibo never does seem to redeem himself from being any more relevant of a vocal within the group, even tho he was def main vocal of leo’s group on s2 after zhao pinlin left... its like as soon as pinlin leaves he’s needed but when pinlin is there, he’s ignored :( gosh as soon as they announced all the winners and qibo wasnt included, his eyes just became so empty you could see his pain.
but yes this ends my essay about the last few eps of super idol s2. LOLL i just started compiling my thoughts into larger rant posts bc i didnt want my whole dash to be littered with a bunch of small random posts, so i started collecting my thoughts on a draft as i watched and waited until it got unbearably long to post, such as now. but watching super idol 1 & 2 has been really an eye-opening experience. ive learned a lot about these kids and its truly made me appreciate the year long training they had in korea and the many many struggles and setbacks and unique experiences they had. honestly i feel like swin couldve easily been 8 people aka swin-s plus huadi and zuo qibo, because honestly theyre all very skilled and capable at this point, and huadi and zuo qibo are really on a different level from gouhao and zhu yunlong (sorry kids, i still appreciate yall tho!) since they werent on like a majority of season 2, but i guess it really doesnt matter in the very long run bc of what happened to swin anyway. such a sad sad history for them to bear, but i do hope they can all achieve some kind of success in the future, because theyve really suffered and worked so hard. ill look forward to watching old swin clips for the time being, as i wait not-so-patiently for afo2
ps: random update, i did in fact make a gengyin gif into my phone lock screen HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH i gave in to the feels. but its the hair flip from that one ikon song he won his individual battle for, and its a historic and important moment okay HAHAHAH
