Fierce Revelations Pt 3 (Linked Universe story)
@silvercaptain24 @ajscico @sky-squido GUESS WHO FINISHED PART 3 :D
Summary: When a battle spirals out of control, Warriors finds a familiar mask in Time’s arsenal and decides that desperate times call for desperate measures.  Time then has to confront what it’s like to be on the other end of the mask, and the repercussions that come with it.
Part 1 Part 2
All fingers. Lift two on the right hand. Lift one on the left hand. Lift the pinkie on the right. Repeat.
He could do this. He could do this.
All fingers. Lift two on the… wait, which two was it again? Middle and fourth. That’s right.
All fingers. Lift two on the right hand. Lift one on the left hand. Lift the pinkie on the right. Repeat.
"Good. You’ve got the first part.”
Link smiled. Yes! He just needed to have Navi write it all down so she could remind him when he needed to play it later.
“Now,” Sheik continued. “It’s time to learn the rest of the serenade.”
Time took a deep, relaxed breath before humming again. The Serenade of Water was one of his favorites that he’d learned on that journey many years ago. It was one of the few that relaxed him without bringing memories and feelings that made his heart clench or made his mind get lost in the past. It was just… calming. He’d hummed it or played it to himself many times over the years.
Sky shifted in his arms, sighing into his tunic.

Welcome Home
Pairing: Simon Riley X Reader
Summary: Nothing shatters the tension of a fight quite like needing your boyfriend to rush home to save you from people who would do you harm.
Warnings: Angst, Language, Fighting, Fluff, Kind of mean!Simon but not too bad, very minor violence, home invasion, I think that's it...?
Word Count: 1.5K
A/n: we're gonna dip a toe in the COD water and see what happens. I love ghost and Konig so we'll see what else I do there. For any and all COD stuff, I use Canadian Military as a basis for the readers background.
~*~
"I've had enough of this. I'm not gonna argue with you about somethin' so stupid," he hisses, glaring at you with hard, cold eyes.
"It's not stupid, Simon, you just don't want to ever entertain the idea of talking about things that might make you slightly uncomfortable!"
"Oh fuckin hell." He drags a hand down his face and shakes his head.
"Everythin's always gotta end with you being right, doesn't it?"
You frown at his absolute lack of any sort of understanding or empathy.
"This isn't about me being right, this is about you at the very least hearing me out!" You try.
"You knew what you were getting in to the moment you met me, m'not sure what you're expecting of me now. S'not like I can go and change the way things are, now can I?"
You narrow your eyes at him and his blatant ignorance.
"I understand full well, Lieutenant. I've been there, which is something you seem to conveniently forget."
He lets out a humourless chuckle and shakes his head, "don't go put yourself in the same category as me now, lovey. You know you weren't exactly at my level when you served."
His words are a slap in the face.
Sure, you were never quite JTF2 or SAS level, but that doesn't mean your time in the military is any less valid than his.
Seven years of your life you devoted to serving your country, the medical help for teams like his, and all he can do is turn his nose down at it as if it means nothing to him.
"You know what? Fuck you, Simon. I never even insinuated that we were at the same level and for you to try and..." you stop, pinching the bridge of your nose as anger fills you.
"What? Got nothin' to say now? That's a shock."
It takes all your strength not to lash out at him and even more to stop your bottom lip from quivering at just how mean he's being.
Sure, he's always been a little rough around the edges, a little harsh and brazen, but never has he been so downright mean to you.
"Get out."
"What?" This seems to genuinely catch him off guard, his arrogance faltering for a moment.
"Get out. Leave."
Simon Riley isn't a man who gets scared. He's been chewed up and spat out of hell before. Nothing on Earth can get the jump on him and nothing can scare him.
At least, that's what he thought.
His palms tingle and he needs to grind his teeth together a few times to collect himself before speaking.
"So that's it then?" He asks, his deep voice barking the question like he would an order.
You two have had your fair share of fights in the time that you've been dating, even more since you moved in together, but none where he's thought you might end things.
"I'm not gonna stand here and take a verbal beating from you, Si. Get out and come back when you've had a chance to fucking cool off."
He stares at you for a long moment, testing your resolve, waiting to see if you really mean it.
When you hold his glare, not backing down, he grabs his coat, mask, and keys and storms out of the house without another word.
You stand there in the kitchen for a long moment, the silence ringing heavily in your ears before you storm up the stairs to take a shower and, hopefully, argue out all your hostility in private.
The warm water runs over your tense shoulders for a few minutes and you try your hardest to relax, to let the anger seep out of you and run down the drain, but when you hear the front door open you're filled with rage once more.
You stand in the shower silently, waiting for the door to open and close again, signalling his departure, but instead you just hear boots on the kitchen floor.
Scoffing and shaking your head, you start to seethe.
As if he's wearing his shoes in the house on top of everything else.
You yank the shower curtain aside and step out onto the mat, not bothering to turn the shower off.
A crash from the kitchen makes you freeze.
Simon is never this loud.
Like a deer on the highway, you stay still, silencing your breathing as you listen to the noises coming from the kitchen.
Instead of calling out to him and potentially causing more trouble, you take a silent step to the counter where your phone lies.
You grab it and hit his icon quickly, listening to it ring for a while before he sends you to his voicemail. A loud beep sounds tauntingly in your ear and you huff out an angry breath.
You hang up and call him back, grinding your teeth together when he sends you straight to voicemail again.
The noises in the kitchen continue, and your heart jumps into your throat.
Answer your phone, Simon.
You shoot the text off quickly then immediately call him again, your stomach settling when the call connects.
"Are you home?" You waste no time on pleasantries, and instead hear him sigh heavily.
"You told me to get the fuck out, didn't ya? Why would I be home."
Your breath hitches and you press your back to the bathroom door, turning the lock silently as panic fills you.
"Simon, someone's here."
The fear in your voice has his blood running cold, his fingers gripping the steering wheel tighter as your fight gets shoved from his mind.
"What do you mean 'someone's here'?" He asks, his voice lacking the anger it had only moments ago.
"I heard the door open and I can hear someone in the kitchen."
You hear his tires screeching on the pavement and his engine roaring as he speeds home.
"Where are you right now?" This isn't Simon talking now. You recognize the change.
This is Ghost.
"I'm in our bathroom. Door locked and shower on."
"Good. Keep that water running. As long as they think you don't know they're there, you should be okay until I get home."
"Okay." You feel a little bit safer knowing he's on his way home.
"Keep me on the line."
"Okay."
There's a few seconds of just breathing before you speak again.
"How far are you?"
"Two minutes away."
"Okay... After you deal with these guys we can go back to yelling at each other," you whisper, wrapping a towel around your body and leaning against the wall across from the door.
He chuckles softly and the sound makes a small smile tug at your lips.
As much as he pisses you off and even sometimes hurts your feelings, deep down you know you'll never love anyone the way you love him.
You don't realize you've been quiet until he calls your name softly.
"You still with me, dove?" His voice is soft and you hear him turn the car off.
"I'm here."
"Good. I'm home now, don't come out of the bathroom 'till I come get you, understood?"
"Understood."
Sometimes living with Simon reminds you of being on base, and there are times when you despise it.
And then there are the times when you don't mind it as much. This is one of those times.
You hear the muffled sound of what must be him putting his phone in his pocket, and you close your eyes as you hear the soft click of the door handle through the speaker.
His footsteps are silent, even through the phone, and you feel ridiculous for ever thinking you'd hear it if he came home.
You can hear him as he takes down one intruder, and then what must be a second one.
He says nothing to them, that you can hear. But a series of dull thuds echo through the house before silence remains.
A few minutes go by of nothing, but you don't dare speak or open the door.
Ghost gave you an order, and you have no intentions of disobeying.
There are a few more moments of silence before you hear a crisp knock on the door.
"Lovey? You can open up now."
Breathing out a sigh of relief, you open the bathroom door and are immediately engulfed in Simon's strong arms.
He walks you backwards into the bathroom and squeezes you to his chest, mask hiked up over his nose so he can breathe in the scent of you.
"You all right, love?" He asks softly, his voice gruff and ever so rough.
"M'okay, Si. Thank you for coming home."
"S'my fault anyway. I shoulda locked the door before leavin' in a huff the way I did."
You frown and shake your head, pulling away to look up at him.
"This is in no way your fault, Simon. I could've easily locked the door after you. I'm just happy you got home in time."
Though you're not sure what the intruders really wanted, you're glad you didn't have to find out alone.
"I'll always come home."
And with those four words, he puts to rest not only the intruder situation, but also your argument from earlier.
Because he will. He'll always come home to you, regardless of what he needs to do, he'll make sure he comes home to you.

Repressed Love: A DiaLuci Love Story
Chapter 39

•▪︎▪︎◇°●♡●°◇▪︎▪︎•
Lucifer knocked on his son's door.
The blonde was awake earlier and usually doesn't leave his room much so the father was more or less sure of his whereabouts.
However, didn't answer. The father knocked again.
"Satan?"
"I just wanna be alone right now..."
The blonde responded, sound like he was right against the door.
"MC is--"
The younger man swung open the door.
"I--Satan?"
Despite the warning, the sight of her boyfriend with white wings was still odd to her.
Satan's face was red as he stood frozen in place. He...he felt like he has changed a lot during the months she was with her family. Were these changes she could accept though?
The woman threw her arms around him.
"I missed you so much!"
The angel sighed in relief and held her close.
Despite all of the change he has gone through, at least MC seems to be the same as always.
He kissed her head before nuzzling his face in her hair.
"I miss you too, Kitten."
And at that, the father quietly retreated from the couple, accepting that after so long of being apart that the two needed some time to themselves to catch up.
Devil knows they have a lot to talk about.
As the days went by, MC brought some much needed cheer to the castle. Satan began leaving his room more, though still wasn't too comfortable leaving the castle in his new form.
MC also spent a lot of time with Diavolo, to the pregnant woman's joy. It was difficult to see the black, inky Rot on the princess at first, but the human quickly adapted and did her best to keep the other woman's mind off of it.
Honestly, this was probably the happiest Lucifer has seen his fiancée in a while and it was all thanks to the human. MC...she has this beautiful knack for raising his family's spirits; it's been this way since the beginning and the pride demon couldn't be more grateful for her.
Sadly, the happiness couldn't stay for long.
Diavolo's condition continued to resist her medicine; the Rot spread down over her belly, a scary sight to the expecting mother.
Despite this, the Rot still had no direct impact on the baby. It was for the same reason the Rot wasn't contagious; despite the physical symptom of the spreading ooze, Magick Rot was an illness of the soul and only focused on the soul it originally infected.
The baby will not catch the Rot because of it's focus on Dia's soul, but also because the baby does not even have a soul quite yet; right now, the child is in the process of collecting dark magick that will solidify into a soul after birth.
The baby was safe for now, but the visual of the dark ooze over her belly was still too much for the mother.
The woman panicked, causing the Rot to continue to spread.
Lucifer held her close, trying to calm her as Barbatos rushed to get the doctor.
The doctor arrived after a few minutes later, rushing inside before quickly checking the spread process. It had descended to her thighs; her panick had pushed it farther.
The doctor quickly turned to Lucifer, syringe in hand.
"I need permission. We've already discussed--"
"Just do it."
Lucifer knew fully well that this decision will upset his fiancée later, but this was an emergency and this man was not going to lose them both.
The doctor nodded and injected it into one of her forearms, the origin point of the Rot.
Slowly, the dark ooze receded, stopping at just below her navel.
Whatever potion was in the syringe also calmed the woman, putting her in a trance-like state.
Both men in the room stared at the doctor, anxious for his explanation.
"She'll be fine." The older man assured. "I will write her a prescription for this in bottle form and hopefully by the end of the week, this will all be resolved."
"Will the potions always put her in this state?"
In truth, the look in her eyes worried her fiancé. Diavolo...she felt so unresponsive in his arms. Not a single muscle reacted to his touch. And her stare...the woman just stared into space, occasionally blinking but...she didn't truly feel present and the pride demon wasn't expecting this at all.
"Not at all." The doctor assured. "There was a sedative mixed in the fast-acting version to keep her emotions from fighting the potion. She'll be plenty responsive while taking the oral treatment."
"Pardon for the interruption," Barbatos chimed in, frowning. "But is my lady truly alright in this state?"
"Her brain is a bit foggy, but with time, the sedative should clear out of her system; she'll probably remember very little of this, which is for the best when you take her condition in account."
"How long until it wears off?"
"A couple hours, no more than four." The doctor insisted. "The princess will come out of this feeling like she had the best nap of her life."
The older man took out a notepad and wrote down the prescription before ripping it off and handing it to Barb.
"Make these for the princess and make sure your lady drinks them twice a day till the Rot has fully dissolved and has disappeared completely from the forearms."
After thanking the doctor, Barbatos walked him out. Lucifer stayed back and held his love tightly.
The Avatar of Pride made the best decision he could in the moment; he made the choice that saved both his love and their child's life
But he also made the decision that could hurt his child in the long run, a decision that Diavolo may never forgive him for.
Lucifer hid his face in her neck, his nose brushing against her red hair as some silent tears slid from his eyes.
"I did it to protect you both." He whispered, tightening the embrace. "I'm sorry I let this all happen in the first place. I wasn't here when you and Satan needed me. You got sick because I wasn't there for you both when you needed me the most."
There wasn't much point in the man saying all of this to her now. Even if Diavolo could hear him while in this state, she'll forget his words once she 'wakes up'.
But he couldn't hold them in. Not the apology, not the guilt. Not even the tears
And he knew there was just more to come. He knew when the sedative wears off later in the day that he would have to explain what happened and what medicine she was given...and what it did. And somehow convince her to keep drinking the potion to remove the Rot from her very being despite what it might be doing to their child.
He still remembered the doctor's words from a few days ago; this medicine will save her life, but could cause some defects in their child.
Diavolo will never forgive him if their child is hurt from this. In truth...Lucifer will never forgive himself.
The father gave a loving stroke to his fiancée's belly, staring at it will all of the love, guilt, and pain he felt in this moment.
No matter what happens...they'll be alive. Both his love and their new child will be alive; that was the only solace the father had in this situation.
Lucifer leaned down and pressed a kiss to her belly.
"You'll be perfect to me no matter what." He whispered. "Just being able to keep you and your mother with me, that is enough; that is all I can beg the world for at this point."
The father's heart was crushed...but still, he'd crush it a thousand times over if it meant he could keep this woman and their child.

So I have spent the first days of 2024 binging Link Click with covid kicking my ass, and it has consumed me worse than the damn disease.
Spoilers for season 2, if you haven't watched it yet go do that (or not. Don't suffer).
So.
These are some general facts that I hopefully didn't misunderstand while sick:
Cheng Xiaoshi inherits all the memories of the person he posesses when he dives, up until the moment the picture is taken.
Unless for the picture taken by Lu Guang in episode 7/8, the only way for Cheng Xiaoshi to know what happens next whilst diving is by combining his and Lu Guang abilities. In this case he knows what will happen because he was there.
I'm not 100% sure if Li Tianxi is actually dead, but it's fair to assume that when someone is dying they can transfer their powers to someone else.
About the last point, this would be the same situation that would allow Lu Guang to get Cheng Xiaoshi's ability.
So, going from here, the thing that I can't get out of my mind is: what type of time loop is Lu Guang in?
Because if it were a spiral kind of time loop (everything rewinds but Lu Guang remembers all the previous timelines) Cheng Xiaoshi should inherit those memories when he uses the picture to get to the riverside, even just because it seems to be one of the most important (haunting) memories that Lu Guang has.
And this would mean that Cheng Xiaoshi would know of his death too.
On the other hand, if it were a closed kind of time loop (everything rewinds, even Lu Guang's memories of the "interrupted" timeline that he abandons to dive back) that would explain why Cheng Xiaoshi didn't see his death while he was Lu Guang, and why Lu Guang is so adamant about not changing the past up until the last scene of S2. But it doesn't explain why his phone password is 091305, or the final scene of the season (if you interpret the thoughts of Lu Guang as something that happens when they return to the photo studio, and not as something he thinks before diving back).
In this instance, it would mean that every single time that Lu Guang goes back he thinks that it's the only time he dives to try and save Cheng Xiaoshi.
And in this case I don't think that it would be a completely repetitive loop, I still think that there would be small differences every timeline, but for Lu Guang it would be a blind try every time, and there would virtually be no changes from his point of view.
And these two kind of time loops offer so much.
In the first case you could have:
Cheng Xiaoshi does know, but he reads it as a nightmare or a fear that Lu Guang has, and not a memory, and he lets it go (as much as Cheng Xiaoshi can let go of things anyway).
He was admittedly pretty busy rushing to make sure a certain event happened, and so he didn't pay too much attention to Lu Guang's memories; he could have probably done that too out of respect for his privacy.
Cheng Xiaoshi knows, and is well aware, and he won't bring it up for fear of being alone again or because he doesn't want to risk messing with time again after Emma. In this season he only really considered changing the past before learning that Lu Guang wasn't dead. In his eyes it's fine if he dies, but he refuses to put anyone else's life or existence in danger.
While in the second case you could have:
Lu Guang keeps on trying to save Cheng Xiaoshi's life, and it doesn't really matter in the end how many times he starts over again, at the end it will always seem like a "first try" thing. He would mess up time beyond any limit and not know anything about it.
I imagine it would be something similar to the Doctor Who episode "Heaven sent" (s9ep11), with the slow change of the timeline occurring over an absurd amount of attempts.
I don't know, it was probably something that will be resolved next season or maybe it was a small incongruence and I'm overthinking it.

Have u seen the uproar that's going on regarding Levi's monologue? Some people actually think "Levi doesn't care much about Hanji's sacrifice, that's why he didn't mention them in a separate panel". Some others are disappointed in "Our role may have ended there. We took those brats to the sea" and think it was only directed to Erwin while Levi and Hanji were the ones who took them there. "At last Levihan was all about Hanji's feelings" is what others say. And lastly "Levi considers Hanji+
(Same anon) ++ just like his other comrades while Erwin's the special one for him". The arguments are endless :(
Hello! Yeah, I actually saw some of those arguments flying around here on Tumblr as well as on Twitter. What an unprompted and passionate drama :)
Let’s start by saying that although initially it may have sounded a little rushed and confused, ultimately I love this Levi’s monologue! I’m so happy we finally get to see his point of view (I didn’t dare hope so at this late stage in the story), and I appreciate it.
But getting back to your ask. I don’t think Levi’s monologue proves or suggests any of that. I don’t know why this always happens, but it looks like readers (do love ship wars and) have a special way to forget all of what they’ve read before every time a new chapter drops out.
After the battle of Shiganshina, after Erwin’s death and Hange was appointed as commander, we’ve seen Levi doing nothing but staying by Hange’s side. He  always watched over them, backing them up in their meetings with Marleyans and the Volunteers, staring at them admiringly when they proposed the trip to Marley, and then following their plans, thus postponing the moment he’d get his revenge. He’s always been supportive and caring of Hange, valuing and trusting their judgement too, and he kept on being so. In the forest scene in chapter 126, he encouraged them, he said the right words they needed to hear to keep going and fighting, because he knew them so well. When Hange went to sacrifice themselves, he couldn’t stop them, he respected their decisions, and then he said those words he never said before. The light went out of his eye, and for the first time from what we know, he sought for a dead comrade’s guardianship (“Keep watching us”).  I think that’s enough to show the profound connection Levi shared with Hange, and the way their relationship developed in those last four years. But even putting aside all of that, I can’t see how his last monologue would suggest what some people are saying. Erwin is indeed special to Levi, and there’s no denying it. He’s the man Levi followed for so many years, the one he looked up to, and the first which inspired him to choose another life, who gave him a purpose to fight for. He’s his “liege”, and as I said once is a previous ask, for Levi fighting for a free world for humanity and fighting alongside Erwin were one thing, and for this reason, he must have felt somehow lost, aimless, after he chose to let him rest. But he doesn’t regret his choice nonetheless. Levi’s monologue opens with him searching for Zeke, and thus remembering Erwin and the promise he made to him. And narratively speaking, I think it was time to tackle this issue. I never thought revenge was the major drive of Levi’s actions, but in any case, Levi sought to take down Zeke and fulfill his promise eventually, and now that they’re supposedly so near him, this issue needed to be brought up and resolved somehow. So it was done, as Levi seems to have finally let go of his vow.
Overall, however, I think that the main object of Levi’s musings was not Erwin, nor Hange. I agree with @tundrainafrica‘s ask in that Levi refers to all his comrades in the SC in his thoughts. He saw in Armin the same look they had in their eyes, the spirit of the Survey Corps, and he remembered the dream they all shared of a brighter future, of an idealized, peaceful world rid of titans and suffering. Levi cared about them all. But returning to those people’s concerns, we also have a special panel dedicated to the two closest persons to him, his dearest ones - Hange and Erwin. Thus, I cannot see how this whole Levi’s monologue, and this panel in particular, could suggest anything other than fairness and balance in the veterans trio, and Levi equally caring about them both. They were both special to him.
For all of these reasons, I’m not particularly concerned that Levi didn’t mention Hange’s sacrifice. We’ve seen their goodbye, and we could tell how much he cared for them, we could tell the pain he was going through. Now, he’s not allowed to properly grieve their loss, as they’re in the middle of humanity's annihilation. Anyhow, trying to not be too depressed and end this answer with a brighter thought XD, I really love the scene Levi chose to remember, and - from my shipper point of view, I guess - I especially loved how he remembered Hange. They’re all radiant and sparkling, their eyes are shining, as they’re most likely enthusiastically ranting about some titan-science stuff and theories they developed, while the rest of them quietly listen to them, sitting around the campfire. It's so heartwarming and bittersweet, to see them all like this.
Last thing. There’s one aspect of Levi’s thoughts I’m not sure I’ve understood correctly though, and it’s about what he meant by their role ending up there, in taking those brats to the sea. I’m not sure whom he was referring to with “our”. It may be Erwin, figuratively, since with Erwin’s death, it also ended their role as they used to understand it. It may be Hange, matter-of-factly, since it was with Hange that Levi actually took the kids to the sea. Or it may symbolically be the old generation, the “veterans”, as a whole, as if by choosing Armin, Levi was entrusting the future to the new generation, thus ending their collective role (and sadly Isayama seems resorting to that cheesy cliche of eliminating the old to make the young shine). And this is what I find somehow debatable. I don’t know whom he was exactly referring, but that’s not the point, for Levi’s role has not ended yet. He may be basically unable to fight now, but as the most recent chapters clearly showed, the kids still need him, they need his guiding and judgement in the situation they’re now. And, after all he’s gone through, Levi deserves to live, and to see that world they all dreamed of. Hopefully (though it’s a tiny hope I’m talking about), he’ll live to see it.

The Datk Road app, like all of us, hasn't properly processed the past few years and still thinks it's living in 2020. The ending is going to undoubtedly not be everything we want when it felt like the story was just beginning, but hopefully it's enough to at least springboard off of and give a framework of what happened
i’ve already trained myself never to expect a lot from a series so at this point i GENUINELY AM just very curious as to what they’re exactly going to do, whether it’s good or not. it really does feel like the story’s only just started and there’s so many things set up and things to resolve, satisfyingly finishing it in one episode seems utterly impossible without it feeling rushed or half-baked
[more asks below the ‘Read More’]
Tumblr media
@psychommando92: “I can't friggin BELIEVE how long Dark Road is taking to complete. Only thing I can figure is Nomura suddenly got a lot more ideas on what to do with the time left, so it got postponed until he was done with rewrites....Or maybe he's just dragging it out as long as possible so he doesn't have to say goodbye to his favorite character too soon.”
let’s not forget there’s been a global pandemic going on for the past 2-3 years: dark road taking time to conclude makes sense, but it’s the utter silence from it that’s really something. i also doubt nomura’s tried to think of new things for dark road if they really are planning on ending it in one episode; unless the fourth episode is just going to be extremely long, i wouldn’t hold on my breath on thinking nomura was coming up with some new ideas and is just trying to tightly wrap up whatever he had planned initially to fit the limit
Tumblr media
anonymous: “Disney pulled the plugged on Dark Road because they dared showed... tombstones...”
“Square could have a whole bunch of horrific themes but no one is allowed to explicitly die in a KH game. Tombstones are too final.”
bro really saying this as if we all didn’t watch clayton violently get hanged in Tarzan or we didn’t watch gaston fall off beast’s roof presumably onto some spikes And If Not That Then Just Him Falling Off A Fuckin Roof
we just gon forget tadashi like that and that whole ass building exploding with him inside i barely remember BH6 and yet i remember that shit mans was DEAD dead
DID YOU FORGET MUFASA DYING LIKE THAT ON SCREEN ANON??? DID YOU FORGET LONG LIVE THE KING????? THEY PUT THAT SHIT IN THE GAME BRO
