Things I Loved About Fleabag (2016):

The careful balance of spiralling and sincerity that keeps you rooting for resolution and relief, despite the show intentionally framing itself around grief

The way that it is clear based on the way that they talk about her that Fleabag is a great deal like her mother (her off-colour jokes, her charisma, even hints of difficult friendships through the Godmother) but they don't have anyone make that comparison until the last episode of S2, with, "You are the way you are because of [your mother]" and the look of surprise on Fleabag's face when she hears it

"Don't make me an optimist; you will ruin my life," being such a telling line, because as you fall in love with the Priest, and Fleabag, you want to believe that things will work themselves out

The love in Claire's line to Fleabag, "The only person I'd run through an airport for is you," and the delightful contrary optimism of her deciding to go to the airport anyway

The revelation that Boo had offered to take Fleabag's love for her mother, intertwining both losses

The way that the Priest not only breaks through the carefully constructed narrative relationship that Fleabag has with the viewer, but also himself directly looks toward the audience on a separate beat as he tries to understand her more ("You don't like answering questions, do you?")

The entire sequence of the last few scenes, "Being a romantic takes a hell of a lot of hope," to "I love you." "It'll pass," to Fleabag walking around with a statue that is, in some ways now, a physical representation of the love she is carrying around. Because while the show is about grief, and love, it doesn't feel like it is asking you to overcome those things, but to learn to live with them while moving forward

Of the first four life series winners: which horsemen of the apocalypse are they? This IS an important and timely question, actually, thank you for asking.

fun fact, during my first fully blind playthrought of bg3 I honestly thought gale was the writers' favourite if nothing else because of how much varied dialogue he had. like I never reallly had a conversation with astarion that wasn't about his trauma, his vampirism or how boring I am for not wanting to take over a cult but I knew all of gale's hobbies, two or three childhood's anecdotes and the whole history of tara, who he was making plans to introduce to me later.

honestly swear to god.. on my life i think it took at least 300 attempts. no hyperbole. I get home from work i put on a podcast or a youtube video i split my screen i refine my deck and i fight and die in that stupid dungeon instance. in the game for kids under 13........ the indignity. every day for at least a month. and then i give up and go to sleep and go back to work. i truly am in disbelief. why is this the one dungeon where the minion doesn't die and stay dead if you re-enter the dungeon instance? why does he respawn even after you kill him in JUST this fight? like this boss's set of cheats don't make the fight hard enough? what's the matter with you kingisle people. why

battle of the spheres was unreasonable but i got it done. morganthe in zafaria was unreasonable but i got it done. THIS? beyond the pale. what is the matter with you. where is your respect for kids who are just chilling playing alone in their freetime. why is this fight 99.99999% impossible without teaming up? how dare you. i have been playing this game alone ever since my cooler better at gaming brother refused to associate with me back in the third grade... decades plural. and you have the audacity to try to force me to abandon soloing in 2023. how very dare you. i will never submit. i will never concede. necromancy til i die. i will beat this game and i will do it alone. you can keep adding worlds. i will keep crushing quests all by my god damn self out of, at this point, pure spite.

CZ update

Apparently the first vet was wrong. He does have pancreatitis, but he ALSO had an intestinal blockage. He had to have surgery earlier today to remove it. The second vet said that she got all of it out and his intestines are healthy (not damaged or dead) and we can take him home tonight as long as we take him back for a checkup tomorrow to make sure his stitches are healing.

3 DAYS UNTIL NARK WEEK!!!

Three times we Met The Parents (even though we’ve already Met The Parents):

-Lark brought Nick to Ecuador as a buffer from his extended family. Within three days, they ran away and hitchhiked to Brazil, where Lark hoped to get in on some Vale Tudo fights. (Nick told him that coming home battered and bloody wouldn’t do Mercedes’ family good, so they watched instead) (Lark did get into some scraps in the crowd tho. Can’t take that boy anywhere)

-Nick squandered Lark’s One Free Visit to hell just so Lark yell at Glenn about skipping out on D.A.D.D.I.E.S to fight the 666 Hate Demons instead. Jodie was horrified to learn he was there, but insisted he stay a while, since he can Never Come Back. They played Monopoly, the most hellish board game there is. (Scam was ✨banker✨)

-Lark went to Morgan’s Funeral for the Jodie Timeline (wherein she is still Very Much Alive, but moved to hell to be with Glenn). It brought up some bad memories for Nicky, so they left early and got drunk because Feelings are Bad 👍👍👍
