im reaching the point of my pjsekai phase where i want to homestuck them

Reading the upd8 and I need a refresher. Could Vriska actually use her mind powers on humans? Because it used to be that she could only put them to sleep, same with Aranea (seen a lot in Game Over and around that part). The other explanation was that maybe she could only do that much as the kids were in another universe entirely, but it just seems inconsistent.

Vriska found out Humans even existed when she was 13 and tried to Control them and found out she could only put them to sleep- But that was still proof that psychic powers CAN affect Humans to some extent. Condy never uses Mind Control against the Kids- But she also never uses it against the Trolls, like Kanaya, and resorts mostly to telekinesis, and more offensively-oriented powers- But she DID control Jade using a mixture of Bronze Animal Communion and Cerulean Mind Manipulation.

Vrissy, however, is from a society that has been mixed with Trolls and Humans for millennia, and she's proooobably a Mind Player in particular, which gives her a good mix of traits to be the first Troll to outright control and manipulate Humans. Interestingly, with the Crocker Goons and Tavros, it sounds like she has mostly manipulated those under Jane's thrall, which may be extra susceptible to Mind Manipulation because. Y'know. Jane. Soooooo-

Alternia is CLEARLY more advanced from an engineering perspective than Earth, but Tavros still gets around in a sorta crappy wheelchair instead of, like, these robotic leg bracers or something

like it's not even drawn, it's some .png of a hospital wheelchair that AH nabbed off google images

i understand WHY he's in a wheelchair from a writing standpoint, it makes his paralysis hard to ignore and acts as a roadblock for Vriska to run him into over and over till she breaks his nose* against it

from a watsonian perspective it's probably since he's a bronze-blood. like, the one guy that COULD build him some motorized legs is Equius Zahhak, the troll that gets off to the subjugation of the blood caste system

*(metaphorically. kinda metaphorically. it's not even, like, AH writing an actual disability since he immediately gets a rocket chair upon entering the medium, so it's probably intended to be a visual metaphor for his. . . Tavros-ness)

I love the idea of trollstuck but I feel as through when creating the alternate version of the alpha kids a lot of people ignore their interests. These interests are what can indicate what blood class each of the kids could have fallen into. I feel like the prime examples of this are Dirk and Roxy. Dirks mechanical skills often lead people to make him a yellow blood when in reality this skill would make him an indigo blood. Every indigo blood within Homestuck has worked with making machinery, and other then Darkleer both have made a robot for their red interest (Equius with Aradia bot and Horuss making Rufioh horse). While Roxy would be the yellow blood as she was an excellent hacker before entering the game similar to Sollux. The yellow bloods have a close connection with technology considering how their powers are used by the Condesce.

Specking of the Condesce, Jane as the literal heir to her empire, acting as the child of the Condesce, is of course a fuchsia blood. Reviewing a lot of homestuck while granted all of this should be taken with a grain of salt since I haven’t finished it yet but. Jake would be a bronze blood. Both Tavros and Rufioh’s wants are often ignored in favor of using them for romantic purposes. Vriska uses Tavros to live the life of Mindfang and not to mention Gamzee’s comments with his elixirs. It’s also stated throughout open bound by Rufioh that everyone treats him as basically arm candy. This is similar to how Jake is treated as well.

I know it’s not much and I do adore all the different interpretations that people have. But I just feel like I don’t see any, that more so alone with the trolls that we’ve meet so far and their personalities.

EquiTav AU Blurb Idea

(Set in an AU where tearing her heart out made her programming to love Equius gi and Aradia doesn't spend time with him, instead opting to be alone)

Equius made his legs. He never really talked to Tavros before (only knew him as an annoying troll he had to swat away from Nepeta), and he never really wanted anything to do with him anyway. But the group asked him to. And seeing how this was now a joint mission where everyone had to put in their all, he supposed. He could help another lowblood just once more. It was a simple enough procedure, more complicated than making Vriska's arm, less so than a whole robotic body. It was done, and that was that.

Until Tavros tripped for the seventh time. His machines are durable but fuck if it didn't make him sweat everytime he heard the now telltale-clang. His hard work was beinf dented... and while they were running on limited supplies! It was hard not gettinf frustrated. He tried commanding the lowblood to take better care of his legs. Threatened, really. But this was something out of Tavros's hands. The boy was clumsy and he was undertaking a big learninf curve. Faced with either having to eat his words and leave the lowblood be, or actually punish the only low lood who so earnestly woukd say sorry and slightly cower before him, Equius's backbone became sand. He compromised by becoming, essentially... like a mother hen. He hovered over Tavros and was now always there like he teleported to catch him befire he fell. Tavros was anxious, he felt guilty makinf Equius do more work by having to babysit him. Certain remarks by Vriska also made him feel worse for beinf a burden to the highblood. But Equius wasn't mean. He kept his distance, made short remarks, but there was no spite. No real insults that cut deep. And he'd still fix Tavros up whenever he noticed him limping or saw something coming loose. He was diligent, smart and dutiful. Tavros kinda started... admiring that. And oh fuck. He's always around him now, always behind him. And- and they hardly even know eachother. That's not fair, is it? Other than Nepeta... Equius doesn't really have other friends.

Tavros decides to step it up and start asking Equius questions about himself. Trying sincerely to get to know the big guy. It honestly made the indigo blood feel... flattered. He was being respected... he was being praised...

.... this was nice....

A friendship forms, much to Nepeta's delight. She'd gotten to hang out with Tavros more, which was nice, but even nicer was seeing her moiral start opening up to someone else. Tavros and Equius... a pairing she had never even considered until now! She didn't want to push it since she cared a lot for both of them, but she secretly hopes for the best with those two. For now, they're simply on very friendly terms; Equius feels very protective of the bronze bull, and Tavros seeks him out even as he's gotten a lot better with his balance. For now, that was enough.
