September was a good month for reading ! I've already started on my first October book, Black Leopard Red Wolf. I can tell you right now it's unlike anything I've read before, is dark as heck, and I'm loving it.
I've got three books under my belt for the 23for23 challenge so far, here's to twenty more. 📚🏳️‍🌈👏

My running notes from Silver Under Nightfall by Rin Chupeco:
I love snarky chaos characters so much. “Take it from someone who talks too much” *kills the guys while he’s monologuing* “you talk to much”
*mid battle* What’s the word for fucker in this language? *makes best attempt* is later corrected with the right word because what he says means cantaloupe. “Ah, I believe I am starting to understand your frustrations with my language”
Like Witcher if despite the witcher being badass, the vampires were even more badass. (Like even the “well fuck” is so Witcher 🤭)
Can’t say I love you. Just says fuck you instead.
Like, he’s a badass reaper and then the vampires are just all *you fragile, we protect you” and he resents them for it even if he secretly loves it.
Lady Song kicking ass again.
10/10 would recommend. Soft, queer, bloody gory romantasy. *chefs kiss*

Books I read
In Memoriam by Alice Winn
"Come here, that letter had said I need you. And Ellwood, obedient as ever, had enlisted instantly.
He wondered if Gaunt knew that he would do anything for him."

Books that made you cry when you read them?
From Look for Alaska (John Green), through Araceli, Meu Amor (José Loureiro), The Lovely Bones (Alice Sebold), Black Dagger Brotherhood (series) - Lover Unbound (J R Ward), Grande Sertão: Veredas (Guimarães Rosa), arriving at George Orwell'1984 and so many other books that I read and made me cry - but I’m not remembering the titles at the moment, I conclude that I am a great literary whimper.

Hello, here is a stack of books all of which I have read this year. Do you keep all the books that you finish or do you resell them or give them away? I keep most of the books I read but sometimes I leave them at local bookcrossing points.

[He was swimming in a red sea of passion and the Egyptians were nowhere in sight.]
the book is Pagan Passions by Randall Garrett and Larry M. Harris, and the cover is also amazing

Originally my top books were limited to six, but life's too short for that. It was a great year for reading, I found new authors and reading buddies, and discovered that I have a love for novellas.

Running notes from Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
God if colonialism was a family 🤮
I love Noemi. Chaos characters have my heart. I can’t believe I doubted her briefly in the middle there 😭
Why are mushrooms always taking over the world now a days? (I mean it’s literally just this and the last of us, but it’s creepy.)
I love that Catalina got revenge on Virgil. Live your best life without him girl.
God. Agnes 🫥. 🔥
It got slow in the middle for like one chapter but then it picked the hell back up. I paused for like a week in the middle and then finished the rest very quickly.
I like that this book had a hopeful ending. Anxiety bean me was very worried. But I was not disappointed. Stuff can be horrible but as long as we got hope 👌
A little bit of horror. I’m new to horror and gothic and I think this was a great intro to both.
