When BoJack Horseman (2014-2020) said "you can't keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it ok. you need to be better" and "all we have are the connections we make" and "I really should've thought about the view from halfway down" and "sometimes you have to take responsibility for your own happiness" and "you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around, you turn yourself around, THAT'S what it's all about" and "things have to get worse before they can get better" and "in real life, the big gesture isn't enough, you need to be consistent" and "if we hadn't met each other until now, we wouldn't be the people we are now" and, my personal favourite, "every day it gets a little easier, but you gotta do it every day, that's the hard part, but it does get easier".

Bojack’s book that he, Sarah Lynn, and Todd wrote:
•20 pages of erotic dr who fanfiction
•A recipe for soup
•5 different theories about how 911 happened
•a bunch of embedded YouTube videos
Who wrote what?
The soup recipe had to have been Todd, he can make food and seems like the type to write a recipe. Bojack can’t cook (the only thing we see him make is pancakes) and Sarah Lynn seems like she wouldn’t really be into cooking.
The theories about how 911 happened were probably Sarah Lynn, she seems to be the type to be kinda into conspiracy theories.
The embedded YouTube videos were probably Todd but could have been any or all of them tbh.
Bojack was the only one who knew about Dr. Who (Sarah Lynn and Todd had no idea what he was talking about when he brought it up), so the erotic Dr. Who fanfic had to have been written by Bojack.
In conclusion:
Tumblr media
He’s writing smutty fanfiction here.

i am not the best with anaylsises or character explanations but the fact that bojack never learned how to love and how to show love was really sad . He learned everything from television , everything . As we know it doesn't depect anything realistically , expecially the kind he watches .
He also learned a lot from the shows he played too . Expecially horsin' around , when he has to take care of beatrice , his first place to take help is a episode from horsin' around , he really doesn't know what to do , or when someone is crying it's not just a man who can't deal with emotions as we see from the moment he learns a few comforting words from Holly , he starts using them from that time as we can see how he says them to Diane .
With his younger years stolen by his parents and the older ones stolen by fame , he never got to live like a normal person , experience normal love , sadness etc.

Thinking about Charlotte's "LA is a tar pit" quote and how BoJack and Diane's respective character arcs revolve around breaking free from places both emotionally and physically. BoJack tries so hard to escape from his past, leaving LA multiple times in the process, but his past always catches up to him and things only get better when he forces himself to work through it and deal with the consequences of his actions. On the other hand, Diane tries at several times throughout the show to fix things in her life in LA but she stays miserable until she decides that she's "tired of squinting" and manages to find a routine that she loves and is happy with in Chicago.

Season 3, episode 4 of Bojack Horseman is like a small sliver of proof for the audience that maybe Bojack isn't the worst person in the world. He goes underwater for some press thing for the Oscars. He can't drink or smoke or do drugs underwater. He ends up on a bus where he has to help a seahorse deliver it's babies, and then one gets left behind so he has to take care of it. The seahorse baby gets hungry so he has to buy it some food, meanwhile he's keeping this baby safe and entertained. He finally gets to a gas station and when he goes to pay for the food, the cashier refuses to take his currency because they use a different kind underwater. He throws the money at the cashier, the cashier takes out a crowbar and a bat and goes after him for stealing the items.
Bojack starts to really grow fond of this baby. He risked his life for it multiple times throughout the episode. We can see him smiling at it, entertaining it, and doing a really good job of taking care of this child that doesn't belong to him. (In some way, I want to say that this is a reference to his big bender with Sara Lynn in season 3, where he fantasizes about a life he could've had with Charlotte and how in the fantasy he is an amazing father).
But the instance I really want to talk about is when he sees this stream of water going up. He goes into it with the baby and he soon realizes that it is taking them to this huge, industrial fan that could shred them both into pieces. He holds onto the baby's hand as tight as he could, but its hand slipped and it went straight towards the fan. Bojack has to think and act quickly, so he pushes himself up towards the fan and stops it with his glass oxygen bubble thing he has around his head to keep him from dying. The thing that gets me is how he had no idea whether or not it would hold up under the pressure of the fan. It could've burst the bubble and caused him to drown and die, but the baby would've been okay. He did it not for his own benefit, but because it was the right thing to do in his mind. It was a completely selfless act.

"BoJack is so touch starved but he also hates being vulnerable" this is true but also we're forgetting that he has Always been affectionate with Princess Carolyn. Always. The very first flashback we see of them has BoJack put his arm around her, and the very last scene features him holding her close as they dance together. Princess Carolyn is physically affectionate towards him, even during the very lowest points of their relationship (Best Thing That Ever Happened). And we know that PC is very physically affectionate towards all her partners, but BoJack lets her do this. He was slightly discomforted when his own sister hugged him. These two people trust each other more than Anyone else, they are each other's oldest friend in the entire show, they understand each other. BoJack's being touch starved is a testament to how few doors he keeps open to others, and the fact that he is so readily affectionate with Princess Carolyn shows how he opens one up her.

[ID: The handshake meme with "Boherb" written on one arm and "Fiddauthour" written on the other. On the hands is written "Used to be extremely close in their 20s but then an unfortunate incident tore them apart and separated them for decades". /End ID]
Was thinking about two of my favourite ships and I came to this conclusion.
