It was a cold night, you thought. Wrapped in your blankets phone in hand. You were messaging Monoma from 1-B. It hadn’t been long since you two had first met at the sports festival. You had accidentally bumped into him during the race, you had instantly took an interest when you found he was from the Hero Course. At first it was a materialistic friendship, you only tolerated him because he was part of the hero course and constantly ranted about 1-A and how his class was much better. It was honestly interesting to listen to his little babbles and jumbles of 1-A slander. But eventually, you don’t really know what happened but you forgot the reason you first wanted to be friends with him. Now, you two spend almost all your time together. Studying, cooking or even just general shopping for your dorm housing. It was around 10:30pm when you mentioned how cold your room was to Monoma. He sent a lot of capitalised haha’s at this, once he realised you weren’t just complaining for the laughs he became a little more serious, he even used grammar. “I’d happily come and bring extra blankets.” You honestly never would have thought of that and at first you refused. Rather him not get into the cold just for you but he persisted. Eventually, as you usually did, you caved. Not 10 minutes later he was knocking on the door of your dorm. Loud and proud. The class of 1-C was quite used to him coming around during the day and leaving at night so most assumed he had forgotten something. He walked in with the blankets and smiled at you. You gave him a gentle smile back before snatching the blankets from his hands. “Uwah! So many!” You awed at the amount he had given you, it honestly felt like warmth heaven. You nuzzled your face into the blankets, graciously humming. You didn’t really know how to thank him as you knew from experience thanks never really got through to him. In a rush of happiness and I guess graciousness? You dropped the blankets and wrapped your arms around torso. If only you could see the surprise on his face as you did this. It only took a minute for the shock to wash away and for him to wrap his arms back around you. He was warm, very warm. You didn’t want to let go, it was so comforting to be wrapped in someones arms. Not to mention you never really got hugs since not many people you knew liked them. You didn’t notice how long you were stood there hugging till you turned to your clock and it was almost quarter past 11. In a rush for him to get back to his room you attempted to move away. But you couldn’t. What? You look up at a smug Monoma whose arms were wrapped tightly around you. You giggled at his childish behaviour. “You have to go back, you’ll get detention if you’re not back by 11:30 you know!” You continued to try and fight back against his grip but it was no use. “Can’t I stay for a big longer, I’m enjoying this.” He groaned, huffing and puffing. His cheeks out and his eyes filled with fake sorrow. You couldn’t help but feel a little guilty looking at the “sadness” plastered on his face. “Fine, but you have to be back in your dorms before 1am or Vlad will have your head.” You joked at the last part, laughing a little. A goofy smile appeared on your friends face as he let go and walked over to your bed. He sat and waited for you to join him, gently patting his lap. You felt fuzzy as you sat down with him, his arms wrapping around you from behind. Your thoughts left your brain as his head rested on your shoulder a tired sigh tickling your neck. You gently rested your head upon his.

Toshinori’s Yagi

It had been a long time since the chords of beauty graced his ears. He had awoken to them, in the early morning.

When he managed to get up, an unrecognizable lullaby was in full swing. As soon as the door hinges croaked, the tune abruptly stopped. Toshinori felt strangely dissatisfied. Why did they stop?

“Where did you learn?” He murmured softly as he entered the main room. They smiled fondly at the piano, fingers brushing over the keys yet not enough to fill the room with beauty.

“A long time ago.”

He approached and stooped down, engulfing their form on the small bench. He put his head in the crook of their neck, breathing them in.

“You don’t have to stop because I’m awake.” He said softly, and it spurred their fingers back to life. The tune was melodious, and he felt such admiration for the one he loved. They were so beautiful, and were able to create beauty as well? He couldn’t describe what he felt.

“I’ll make breakfast.”
