I feel... nothing.

Okay also, (and this one is payback @nachosncheeze), let's think about Jane's face when she walks into Oliver's apartment and sees the dinner he's prepared for her. Like, she's been living with hostility and intensity and uncertainty and fear for so long, truly made to believe that she has nothing but atonements to make, and then someone shows her love. He shows kindness, and care, and an appreciation for her inherent worth as a human being. He goes out of his way to make her feel special. And her response, surprise. Shock. A kind of "he did this for me?" vibe. Like she never expected anyone to take the time, like she didn't even consider something like this ever happening for her, even though it's a relatively simple thing to set up, and could have been done in so many platonic ways by the team.
It's like she's experiencing the beauty of companionship for the first time, and it kills me every. single. time.
(It reminds me of this post)

It's 2x16 week!
I choose a happy team gif for the announcement, not the devastation from later in the episode.

Can we talk about this moment?
I mean Nigel is there, watching how Cade "shoots Patterson to escape" and he doesn't even react to it. I know he's on a mission and needs to capture Cade before he can run away, but for someone who claimed to love Patterson, he doesn't even flinch. And even when his face shows a little surprise, I think that's because he wasn't expecting that, he was so confident that they would capture Cade when Patterson and Reade left, that he needed now to adjust his plans.
At least that is what this scene always transmitted to me.

Timeline note
Roman apparently spent six months tracking Cade down, as we learn from Cade in 2x16, but we know Roman was around from 2x01 onwards, and doing jobs for Shepherd. Since someone informed Shepherd in a whisper that Cade had been spotted in 2x02, (rather than informing Roman, who was sitting right there), it seems like he'd already been taken off Cade-hunting duty by 2x02 - like maybe Shepherd knew that after seeing the condition Jane stumbled back to Sandstorm in, Roman wouldn't be too cautious or stable.
Jane was in the black site for three months, so there must have been three months between 1x15 and 1x23.
Allie is three months pregnant by 2x02, but Allie and Kurt were already broken up by the end of 1x18.
1x16, 1x17 and 1x18 all run on into each other, which makes my 'Kallie had a one-night stand while Jane was in the black site' theory plausible, unless they went three months between 1x15 and 1x16 with no leads or significant tattoo cases. I think even 1x15 and 1x16 might run into each other - if I remember rightly, Kurt is still wearing the dressing from his 1x15 surgery in 1x16.
Then again, we know how shit the writers are at doing the 'consistent timeline' thing, so I think it's a 'take whatever your headcanon is and run with it' situation.

Hey, sometimes the people closest to us are our biggest blindspots.
