I’m not sure if this will make sense to anyone but me, but I think among my issues with the way Strange New Worlds has approached romance is that every relationship has similar beats: T’Pring and Spock, Chapel and Spock, Pike and Alora, Pike and Batel, even Adya and Z'ymira all feature half of the partnership in a lesser position:
T’Pring secondary to Spock’s service to Starfleet and trust in the crew
Chapel as doomed to be functionally forgotten as part of Spock’s esteemed place in the future (per Boimler)
Alora as morally less than Pike (he saves kids in the future, she kills them in the present)
Pike self-declaring himself to not “deserve” Batel (to whom he lies and withholds information)
Z’ymira choosing the forest over Adya (not even sending a raven unnervingly reminiscent of Pike calling Batel just to say hello positioned as a Big Deal when it should be the Bare Minimum).
Anyway, my guess is the writers think conflict is interesting? But, if they want to write romance in a utopian future (and they don’t have to, they really don’t), it sure would be nice to see mature people make sensible, mature choices in a spirit of equality.

In the euphoria of all new lore this season, I forgot to mention something in regards to Xivu Arath and was reminded by Byf's video (cool video btw, very chilling and explains just how fucked we are by Xivu being involved).
It doesn't help that Ishtar still doesn't have the lore tabs linkable so I am relying on my screenshots, but it's something I noticed immediately as I read them because I've talked about it before: Xivu's association with a "terrace." My addition to this post from back in March about this.
Basically, whenever Xivu is mentioned and specifically her possible place of residence (perhaps her throne world), there are a few things that always pop up: a terrace, emerald, blades.
Byf also caught this and mentioned the most prominent examples from Season of the Lost, but there were mentions before. The first one to mention it was Osiris in Immolant, but lore youtubers are allergic to Immolant I think, so:
Osiris peers into the Hive protrusion. Metallic flecks shimmer, and he sees a long and empty road. Meandering. He wishes to plant a great banner over it, so that all may see. A beacon, alight with Phoenix flame. Looming in the nascent flamelight hangs the terrace of blades. The terrace dominates the road; its precipice at his throat.
This is really important as far as mentions go, not only for being the first, but also because this is what Osiris sees when he peers into the cryptolith for the first time. It's very likely that he just sees directly into Xivu's domain and this she uses this to stimulate him to tithe her by going to war.
And another mention is in Hunt, which is then repeated in Lost (and is the one that Byf focuses on). I listed all of them in the post I linked so I won't do the full quotes again. Here is the most important bit, first from Hunt:
grand terrace of onyx Swords, hilted in emerald flame and overlooking darkened systems
A lone figure stood on the terrace aside two empty thrones.
And from Lost:
grand terrace of onyx swords and emerald flame reigning over a red harbor.

And now, in Seraph, we got more. From Disparity pulse rifle:

The fact that "Black Terrace" is capitalised is really cool since this is no longer just a description, but a title or official name for something related to Xivu, possibly a place she resides in.
I want to see this so badly. It's such an ominous description of a place we can hardly imagine and I am looking forward to Xivu appearing and for us to see this. It's such a cool motif that has been repeated for over 2 years consistently, like they're making sure it gets drilled into our minds for Xivu's inevitable appearance.

Just thought of a heartwarming way to have Eclipse calling Shadow his brother in the comics work with my AU where they're technically cousins.
After Black Death's branch of the Black Arms reconcile with Shadow, and Death realizes that Shadow's been alone with one dead dad (Gerald) and one potentially alive abusive shithead of a father (Black Doom) he starts to get closer to Shadow like he is with his own son and even though Shadow is his nephew and an adult, Black Death is just like:
Now he has two children to dote on! (And now Shadow has 3 dads! Maybe even four depending on who gave him his hedgehog genes)

Sersi’s plan was for Starfox to use his emotional manipulation powers to make the whole world feel peace and love long enough to trick the Progenitor into giving Earth a passing grade
Starfox thinks that’s a dumb plan so he does his own plan.
He talks to everyone and through compromise and charm, creates a plan to turn the world into a paradise with Krakoan and Eternal technology in exchange for the UN agreeing to pass a bunch of human rights and environmental concern resolutions.
A world where everybody can love life. Big if true.
While in the background of this the Progenitor passes and fails people seemingly arbitrarily.
Thor gets a thumbs up because his hammer says worthy on it and the Progenitor isn’t going to argue with a hammer.

On music that will be mentioned
In terms of my taste in music, I’m mostly into black and/or doom/death metal. I am not into -core (except a select few goregrind acts), punk, most thrash (so no “crossover”), harsh noise (except if I can withstand the noisy elements, which is very rarely), most brutal death metal, and most raw BM. I’m also not into “traditional” black metal and in truth most black metal in general, and out of the closest-to-mainstream acts thereof, Celtic Frost (not always BM) and early Dimmu Borgir (began as gothic BM) are my favorites, and all that combined is just scratching the surface or me.
As for that which I tend to like, it weighs towards industrial metal, dark ambient (when still metal), funeral doom, non-European folk metal, gothic metal, and outright surreal music. I have also looked around the internet to such an extent that, if one was to recommend something to me, chances are that I would at least know what it sounds like to some extent.
I’m well aware of the whole “NSBM” controversy (and some moral equivalents thereof, like an alarming amount of “unblack” metal acts), and I avoid those acts like plague and otherwise separate the art from the artist. It’s worth noting that people like that, despite their claims to the contrary and active attempts at co-opting and claim-jumping BM (and also runes, Asatru, and the like), are only a vocal minority and are best ignored, because what they want most is to not be ignored and they would absolutely hate that.
My point of making this post is so that readers will know what to expect from here and why I do some things. My reviews here will explain the naming choices and also the lyrics to some extent, and there will be MONKE.
