BOTD: Crested Caracara
Tumblr media
Photo: Manjith Kainickara
"Related to the typical falcons, but very different in shape and habits. The Crested Caracara is a strikingly patterned, broad-winged opportunist that often feeds on carrion. Aggressive, it may chase vultures away from road kills. Widespread in the American tropics, it enters our area only near the Mexican border and in Florida. 'Caracara' comes from a South American Indian name, based on the bird's call."

Drake:
He's sooo blorbo. Fuckin cringe ass fail loser with an ego so big it regularly costs him the victory but also brave, determined and the BEST father in literally all of Disney canon, *especially* the Disney duck universe (I say as someone who's read many of the comics, it's a lot better in the Ducktales reboot). I can't find it now but at one point years ago I was on a wiki page about him and they listed like ten different personality traits and only like one of them was good lmao.
That man is a father and a superhero at the same time!!! he would do anything to protect his daughter!!!!!!!!! hes also has the ego the size of a small planet i love him!!!!!!! hes such a good dad!!!!!

November 9, 2023 - Caribbean Hornero (Furnarius longirostris) Found in parts of Colombia and Venezuela, these ovenbirds live in open habitats, often near water. They eat arthropods and other invertebrates, picking food from the ground, usually foraging alone or in pairs. Though relatively little is known about their breeding habits despite how common they are, they build oven-shaped mud nests on tree branches where females lay clutches of two eggs.

BOTD: Bare-legged Owl
Tumblr media
Photo: Miguel Ernesto Suárez Blancart
"A charming owl with large dark eyes, bushy white or buff eyebrows, and a buffy mustache. At night hunts woodlands or open areas with large trees; during the day roosts in tree cavities or caves. Its song is a distinctive accelerating soft 'hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo…' that has a 'bouncing ball' rhythm; occasionally gives a screech."
