Happy Halloween!

I personally love Halloween, it's probably either my favorite holiday or tied with Christmas, so why don't we have some Halloween headcanons?

Firstly, Dresden? Loves horror movies. They remind him of his days at the foundation and, while yeah it was crazy, there was also some sense of normalcy. (in case you're wondering, his favorite is Halloween)

Next, Astra does not. If you read my fanfic "O5-14 - The Overseer" (which I recently re-uploaded after a bit of a rewrite [mostly just the ending]), I mentioned a time when she was pretending to be Deimos when she almost got arrested for punching a scare actor when she, Alexis and Sterling went to a haunted house. Does this only exist so I can have Dresden and Astra go on a date? ... ye-

Tayrun's favorite candy is definitely Almond Joys. I like to think Kayla took him to a candy store and got absolutely flabbergasted when he said what his favorite was.

Benny 100% tried to get Champagne and him to wear those shitty couples Halloween costumes.

Some more additions to my pop cross soap opera au these being ones that are mostly dealing with characters I didn't mention much of in the previous two posts

The first a decision that I came to with the help of @l3m0ngal5 is that in this au Kayla works for Benny at his shop technically she's his assistant and while she will occasionally help him work on the cars her main job is doing the books and handling the actual proper business side of things while Benny focuses on the part of the job he enjoys working on cars and interacting with customers here Charlie is just an AI assistant on her phone if you're wondering how she got this job she came into town one day looking for a new start after things back home fell apart and her car broke down Benny fixed up her car got her a hotel room to stay at and offered her a new job to help her out and because this was before he took in Mara let her stay with him for a few days until she was able to get her own apartment

The second is The Sci-Five act as the staff of champagnes clinic swipe being his receptionist and sound strike acting as a nurse maybe calamity helps with the heavy lifting around the place and ziff does the books and is the clinic's entire IP department jump kick drives to pick up supplies from suppliers in the next town over to avoid delivery fees champagne obviously pays all five of them well

The third and final edition for this set of additions is that the astral apartments building is owned by this universe's version of Astra who for simplicity's sake in this universe is called Alice astral instead she keeps her rent prices cheap and affordable especially for her friends which are the majority of her tenants

A suggestion by @therummonster that I actually really like is that the town's name is Rivers crossing

Multiverse Tales Gem AU : Episode 1

Mikayla Maciel was a human resident of the small city Wilmingmore, Delmarva. She'd grown up there, and was well versed in the local legends surrounding an area just outside of the city labelled by the locals "The Bronze Zone". It had been there for as long as she could remember, and she couldn't recall anyone ever going in. Even the dumb teens of the city would only ever get up to the fence, perhaps slipping through a hole before darting back out as fast as they can if they were brave.

Well, perhaps she was going to have to change that.

She wouldn't call herself the most adventurous of her friends, but after hearing Obi was going into the deadly zone, she knew she had to save him. So here she was, wandering through the area she'd long feared as 'haunted', or at the least dangerous. To her surprise, it looked like an old borough, like a residential area that had going through some sort of terrible earthquake (or attack).

She searched for what felt like forever until she felt the ground shake, and a swirling mass appeared in her vision. She froze, confused and scared. Her pause however gave the creature time to latch onto her. Without time to think, her vision was filled with a white loud, and she felt like her whole body was shifting and... growing?

With a gasp her eyes fluttered open, and she shuddered. She tried to move, but it felt like the path between her mind and body was covered in fog. "Oh, wow, this is awesome! Is this what fusion's like? Cool? Oh, hi, I'm Charlie! Well, I think, that's just a name I learned about from you humans. Oh, sorry, are we going to move? We should probably move." Suddenly moving was so much easier, and Kayla stumbled to her feet, looking around in shock. Around the corner, a beast lurched toward her, but unlike the blue rock imbedded in the metal plate on her chest, she couldn't see a gem on it. No matter, they were running right now, so she had to run too.

They ran, then when they couldn't run anymore, they fought. Then they found Obi, with another of whatever 'Charlie' was, this one with a circular orange gem... it was terrifying. Obi was so much taller than he normally was (and she must have been at least a few centimetres taller), but despite it all she found herself smiling. Then grinning, then laughing once it was all over.

Then, with Obi unconscious, the light enveloped her again, and she was back to herself, shirt fitting nicely and no more wires or piping flowing around her. Only, now she was by herself, she realised she wasn't strong enough to carry Obi... great.

This time, she willingly let Charlie back in, and together they were able to work more cohesively. It wasn't a quick and sudden change, but, once Obi was at the local hospital and Kayla and Charlie were back in her apartment, they were able to talk.

Charlie honestly didn't know much about his own kind, but he offered to help Kayla track down more problematic creatures, whom they'd now dubbed 'biocrysts' if she would help keep him out of the 'boring zone'. Kayla agreed cautiously, but over the next months, then years, their bond would grow... and so would their fusion.

kate(holding 9 year old self, tearing up): don't worry, we are finally safe now.

alexis(showing off powers): look what i can do!

sterling(watching alexis and smol alexis): yeah, that's one of your friends..

mara(slightly nervous to tell past her this): yep.. we got cursed.. but we are also surrounded by people who care about us!

champagne(crouching to be same height as past self): huh... i guess i am pretty unrecognizable now... hey, what can you tell me about our past?

benny(gladly answering any question given): the little odd things that watch you, don't worry about them! they just love a good show and just enjoy listening to us. also yes we do grow up to be an even better mech maker than expected!

kayla(staring directly at past self): you see that one over there?? the one with the book??? yeah get your garbage together because i don't want to think about work when i'm around him.

tayrun(explaining everything that happens): so yeah, magic is real and i'm god.

sharp gang's thoughts on benny

Vasilia: very irresponsible, he is learning however.

Tayrun: he's very interesting! and the things he does- past me would've dropped dead at the thought of that being possible.

Astra: apparently it takes a lot to upset him, also god damn them mechs.

Heath: he has... strange ideas.

Sterling: i still don't know what his problem with gooby is..

Alexis: i don't know what goes through his head, frankly i don't think anyone would be able to comprehend it.

Champagne: i never knew someone could have more problems than me, and still be seen as happy go lucky..

Mara: he dislikes the demon world alot, it's... probably because of the coalition.

Kayla: he says i'm the best roller skater and that that's something because he worked with someone who was enlisted in a professional roller skater???

Charlie: tells me not to worry but-

gooby: (he drowned me. what do you want me to say? that he's a perfect individual? nah. if it weren't for everyone here being either lawful or good, he would've snapped ages ago.)

I don't think I did well enough on the previous Charlie angst. so I'll also write a story. click if you dare, cause i have ideas.

Kayla fell to the ground, barely able to keep up with the enormous masses of metal. she was about to get up when one of the other bio mechs called out.

"just release the mech and we'll let you go with no more injuries."

Charlie hadn't said anything since they realized what they were up against, Kayla had a feeling she knew why now.

"I'm not giving him to you! Charlie, roller skates!"

he shifted down in an instant, but instead became rockets as one of the bio-mechs swung down a blade. the duo flew a brief amount out of the way, as the five massive mechs stared, lenses glowing in bright gleaming colors.

"Charlie... I promise we'll make it out alive."

another mech charged forth, clearly aiming for Charlie. Kayla shouted out for Charlie to become a blade just in time for him to avoid the strike.

the blade sliced into her leg as she went straight through the limb attached to the other mech's blade. she winced in pain and then used the slowly deforming limb to stab the other bio-mech right in its own lens.

they had one less opponent as both it and its mindless host slumped, lights fading.

she looked up just as another mech fired a blast, soaring past but cutting a gash in her cheek.

one after another they lunged and struck, Kayla saying orders that consistently got Charlie to avoid a strike. one of them managed to grab her arm and she tore through, feeling the claws rip off a chunk of flesh.

they managed to get rid of the other mech's hosts, so now it was a slightly easier battle.

Charlie was on her arm as the biggest of them, a rusty looking mech with low red lights, lunged forth with astounding speed, and a blade.

Kayla couldn't get a word in as her arm shot upwards without her control.

there was no pain for her when it happened, the mechanical mass threw her as soon as the blade had nothing more in its path.

she was about to get up when her leg reminded her of the pain she was going through at this moment.

"c'mon Kayla, you can do this! just-"

she stopped herself as she felt something slipping off her shoulder.

she attempted to grab Charlie as he slipped down, lens barely casting enough light to glow against himself.

she saw the mechanical blobs closing in around her and pulled him closer into her chest.

"Charlie... please stay with me!"

she felt a deep gash in him as the mechs glared down at them, trying to keep him safe from further harm.
