Y’know what I’m personally kinda wishing to see in a future MVT ep?
Might be the angst/action-hungry goblin in me, but… I wanna see Mara break.
More specifically, I wanna see her go absolutely berserk - perhaps on Fear Herself. We’ve seen her get angry before, and we’ve seen her have a few badass moments, but this would be like. a whole new level above that.
Like, maybe she and some of her teammates are having some sort of battle with Fear, and during it, something happens to make Mara just. unhinged, balls-to-the-wall pissed at her.
I’ve also got this idea that, if Mara were to get uncontrollably angry enough, that demon consciousness in the back of her mind would start to influence her - like, make her words, tone and demeanor uncharacteristically cruel, and maybe give her voice a more subtle version of that grungy filter effect her demon thoughts have.
So, picture this: Mara, in a blur of vengeful rage, putting the woman who cursed her and plans to use her on the ropes, voicing threats more gruesome than she would ever usually make. The Overseer’s stepped too far, dug her own grave, and Fear Herself starts to feel flickers of the very thing she’s so used to imbuing in others.
Now that is something I would love to see. >:3

Additions to my pop cross soap opera au
All of the characters that we know and love are living in the same apartment building called astral apartments the living arrangement is that most of them are living separately with some exceptions and roommate situations that makes sense when I explain what's going on with certain characters in This
Jake and Ana are still runaway orphans with basically the same backstory they have in Canon minus the tears of the angelic and superpowers but Jake is explicitly being fostered by Sterling while Ana is being fostered by Kate
The various living situations for these characters include in one apartment is Benny champagne and Mara Benny and champagne living together because they're already married and Benny took Mara in after she and her parents had a falling out due to her breaking things off with her abusive ex-boyfriend that her parents were pressuring her to marry Benny gave her a place to stay in him and champagnes two bedroom apartment and helped her find work with tayrun at the local library
Jake is living with Sterling due to the whole being fostered thing and the same with Ana and Kate
Vasilia shares an apartment with her brother who works as her assistant in her boutique
Alexis lives alone in one of the very few one tenant apartments in the building having moved into it when it was clear that Sterling needed the extra room for a child as they were initially living together because they're besties and also to save money she's actually living right next to Heath who had a roommate at one point but no longer does due to a falling out unsurprisingly basically every major character I haven't mentioned in this post is living in a one person apartment

Quantum Kismet
(Aka Mara has a weird dream)

Mara’s eyes fluttered open - to find herself someplace she didn’t recognize. The whole area was dark and formless, and she could see only hints of colors and shapes slowly shifting around her, as if she were in some sort of fever dream. For a long moment, the space was eerily silent.
Then, a voice shook through her, ethereal and otherworldly - not the demon’s, for once.
“…Nightmare Hunter…”
Drearily, Mara raised her head, scanning her surroundings for the source of the voice.
After a long moment she caught sight of a figure, several paces above her, who was… somehow completely unrecognizable and yet, at the same time, imbuing Mara with a painstaking familiarity that felt eons older than herself.
This could only be the Reaper.
As soon as her eyes found the cosmic entity before her, a much more familiar voice hissed in the back of her mind, ever-so-softly chanting: “…kill…” Like she’d done countless times now, Mara ignored it. She studied the Reaper, who she felt studying her in turn, as if the being’s gaze were combing through her very soul.
“Do I… have to kill you?” Mara mused, half to the Reaper and half to herself. “Is that something I’m… bound to, through the curse?”
As if in answer, the longer her eyes remained on the being, the more the malicious voice built up, louder and louder until it became too much to ignore; until it overwhelmed every other thought in her mind. “K̶͎̏̃Ī̶͍̀͜L̶͚̃L̷̗̤̑!”
“Why?” Mara shot back, averting her gaze from the Reaper. The moment she did, the demonic voice vanished even more swiftly than it had appeared.
She closed her eyes for a long moment, letting the silence wash back over her. Then, trying to pinpoint the Reaper in her mind’s eye, she spoke in a soft, measured voice.
“I swear on my life, if I have any choice in this matter… I will not hurt you.”

Noticing the parallels between Mara & Vasilia (totally not over analyzing and totally not biased bc they’re my two favorite MVT characters).
They each have an affliction that gives them some sort of beast powers, and they both know what it’s like to face severe judgment for that. They came to accept those sides of themselves thanks to their shared support system, and at some point during that time became fully able and/or willing to make use of their abilities for good.
I think the biggest difference between these two situations, though, is that Vasilia had the option to hide her affliction long before she joined the group, while Mara wasn’t able to “turn off” her demonic appearance whenever she wanted until she’d been with the group for a while.
So this made things simpler for Mara in that regard, since her meeting the group would automatically come with them knowing abt her demon appearance, so her path to acceptance of it through the others’ acceptance of her came a lot sooner. And since Vasilia was already used to keeping her Were-Jaguar form off, and thus could choose to only share all the parts of herself she was comfortable with others knowing about, that arc came a lot later in her time with the Sharp Gang.
Thought that was pretty interesting :0
Anyway I kinda wanna see them hang out. Maybe a fantasy armor episode w/ Mara in it (maybe Kate too) finally asking for that weapon she wanted bc she wants to be extra prepared for the Archons or something.

so i've done more thinking about the whole "what would happen if these characters decided to not do this?"
example that's been rolling around in my brain space,
what would happen if kayla never went to benny's dimension?
benny would still see vigor shy's face, but wouldn't get a death experience.
he goes off, activates the multidimensional travel, and basically disappears.
this version of the au still has stuff like "canon events" {i know, i'm sorry.}
the plan Astra made to flip off ulitus in battle for the beast world, benny wasn't originally planned to be a part of, he was just there.
i'll probably go more into what happened to get the battle for the beast world event slightly different, cause there's just a bit more behind it to make you go "oh" all relating to Astra's decision.
aaaanyways. so, after annoying Eloise he sees Tayrun, picks him up and then just hands him snoop while adjusting things on his suit. briefly he looks at tayrun and goes "you wanna see something cool?"
cue the swizzle rockets.
and that is how tayrun meets him-
he eventually hops into mara's dimension, and decided that the demon hunter coalition seemed just interesting enough to go along with their weirdness.
he meets mara, hears her story, and goes "ah. nope you aren't going to go through that, c'mon."
basically that stuff is all the same, except he doesn't have the group of friends, he just offers for her to join him in venturing around the multiverse. which she takes.
multiverse melee, benny gets kidnapped by lu because he's still being infuriating to her. mara decided to fake being interested in watching.
Astra tries her plan, when something crashes through the center of the arena and obliterates the ice hydra.
stuff goes almost as normal, with astra flying down to help alexis.
and that is how those two get thrown into the group in this au!
