Armando is a really conflicting character because of how much of a coward he is. He can't give a straight step ahead, it's always half things. He had a thing for Betty before the Plan, but when he was confronted with actually having something with her, he freaked out and feigned a disgust that was never there before. He always took Betty out to fancy places for work, it wasn't uncommon to be seen in public with her, but as soon as it was with actual intent, he freaked out and acted embarrassed even though they could have very easily just said it was purely for business. He said he was going to be public with her as soon as the meeting was over, but when Marcela catches them hugging, he immeditely denies it even though at this point he has nothing else to lose. He could only ever be honest in solitude or in front of Betty. He always lacked the courage to face society and himself.

Saben por qué creo que Betty le cree a Armando en un primer lugar?
Digo, por ahí uno se plantea: si lo viste a ese hombre mentirle descaradamente a su prometida infinidad de veces, si viste lo desesperado que estaba por su empresa que pasó a estar en tus manos, cómo es que crees que te ama mágica y sinceramente?
Pues, para mí, es porque hace cosas por ella que nunca hizo por Marcela. Como darle voluntariamente y por iniciativa propia explicaciones de por qué había llegado con marcela después de haber hecho el amor por primera vez con ella. Él prácticamente le rogó que lo escuchara a pesar de que Betty le aseguraba que no necesitaba esas explicaciones. Cuando Marcela prácticamente lo tenía que interrogar para que le dijera las cosas.
O porque estuvo con ella mucho tiempo antes de tener relaciones, a diferencia de las demás mujeres con las que se quitaba las ganas y no las quería volver a ver. Esas cosas le hacían ver un Armando distinto al que había visto hasta ese momento. Aparte de que, sin la necesidad de obtener algo de ella o de enamorarla, la defendía a ella y a su trabajo. Creo que esas cosas la ayudaban a pensar: hey, quizás es posible que se haya enamorado de mí de repente.

Me encanta ver cómo Armando puede ser malhumorado y malhumorado con todos (por ejemplo, Patricia, Mario, Marcela, Freddy, etc.), pero cuando se trata de Betty, él es el más blando. A él sólo le importa lo que ella tenga que decir o hacer. Ella es la única persona que realmente lo puso en su lugar y él no se lastimará ni se ofenderá porque sabe que ella siempre tendrá sus mejores intereses en el corazón y que sus intenciones son verdaderas. Como cuando le preguntó "¿Crees que soy neurótico?". Ella fue completamente honesta y dijo "¡Sí!, pero eres justo" y él se sorprendió porque no creo que nadie haya sido tan honesto con él y no podía estar enojado con ella porque sabe que tenía buenas intenciones. .

I love seeing how Armando can be bad-tempered and grouchy with everyone (e.g., Patricia, Mario, Marcela, Freddy, etc) but when it comes to Betty, he is the biggest softie. He only cares about what she has to say or do. She is the only person who actually put him in his place and he will not get hurt or offended because he knows that she will always have his best interests at heart and that her intentions are true. Like when he asked her “Do you think I’m neurotic?”. She was completely honest and said “Yes!, but you are just” and he was caught by surprise because I don’t think anyone has ever been that honest with him and he couldn’t be mad at her because he knows she meant well.

“No sé si estoy a las puertas del cielo o del infierno, pero hoy don Armando me confirmó que es real lo que siente por mí.
Me despejó la duda de que todo se tratara de una noche de tragos.
Me dijo que había descubierto una belleza particular en mí. Dijo que parecía un ángel, que le encantaba mi fragilidad.
¡Dios mío! Encontró cosas en mí que jamás soñé que un hombre descubriera en mí. ¡Y menos un hombre como él!
Siento tocar el cielo con las manos, pero siento también que puedo caer en el infierno.
Igual él debe seguir su relación con doña Marcela, cuando menos hasta que aclaremos qué es lo que sentimos el uno por el otro. Y no me afecta. Sé que no lo ama.
Pero también sé que me esperan días duros para afrontar. El temor a ser descubiertos y la permanente sensación de que me convertiría en la amante de don Armando.
Yo sé que de cualquier modo no está bien meterme con un hombre comprometido.
No quisiera ni pensar en lo que me haría mi papá si lo supiera. Pero no puedo negarme a una oportunidad tan importante y tan única que me brinda la vida.
No puedo negarme a vivir el sueño que él me ofrece.
Si no lo acepto ¿Cuándo podré vivir algo así? ¿Cuándo aparecerá otro don Armando en mi vida que me haga soñar?
Y no me interesa que existan otros don Armandos.
¡Lo amo a él! Y sólo quiero estar con él. Y él no ama a nadie.
A lo mejor soy yo la llamada a ocupar el vacío de su corazón, así lo pude sentir con sus besos.
Porque hoy me besó, me besó dos veces.
Y me regaló la luna y la noche.
Pero algo se me quedó atravesado cuando me preguntó qué sentía yo por él.
Mi timidez fue superior. No fui capaz de confesarle que lo amo desde hace mucho tiempo; que todo de él me seduce, su voz, si loción, su mirada.
No fui capaz de hablarle de mis sueños, donde siempre aparece él. Mientras que él me habló de todo lo que yo le inspiraba.
Me acepta tal como soy, me dijo que yo le parecía bella.
¡Aún no lo puedo creer!
Lo que más temo de todo esto, es volver a tener otra decepción amorosa.
No la soportaría. No soportaría volver a sufrir ése infierno del despecho, del desengaño, del dolor.
Dios quiera que no tenga que repetirlo con don Armando.
Pero tengo fe en que no se repita, porque sé que don Armando es un gran hombre.

It's so sad to see the depth of Betty's low self-esteem. She really believes she deserves nothing good, and that any little mistake she makes means that anything good she has she should give it up in compensation or because she never deserved it. It is so obvious since the beginning. She's convinced that she must be perfect in her work and values because otherwise she's worthless. She tries to quit Ecomoda three times before even starting the whole Terramoda thing because of mistakes she made, like consjdering taking the bribing, or even things that weren't her fault, like the damaged computer. She thinks that any little favor people do for her are an inmense burden on them, like when Armando took her home after literally making her work extra hours to go to Rag Tela's cocktail.
It is no wonder that she really at first can't believe that Armando fell for her, that although we know why it all started, she doesn't and has no reason to ssupect it, because honestly, it is not surprising at all. The emocional connection they had since early episodes show that Armando was gonna fall for her eventually. But poor Betty could have never seen it, even when the Tarot itself was telling her it WAS going to happen...
I just wanna hug my girlie so bad and buy her some hair care products because you can't fool me I know curls forced to be straight and massacred with a brush when i see them

Es una locura pensar que Armando siempre tendría mujeres persiguiéndolo por su atención y cariño (por ejemplo, Marcela, Claudia Bosch, Karina Larson, Mireya (su antigua secretaria antes de la llegada de Betty). Después de decirle una vez a Mario que no lo haría. perseguir a una mujer. Sin embargo, Betty como ella fue la única que pudo capturar su corazón y amor, lo que las otras mujeres que estaban en su vida no pudieron lograr. Armando una vez sintió que ella se le escapaba ( por ejemplo, en las situaciones con Nicolas y Michel) que la perseguiría hasta que fuera suya porque no era capaz de lidiar con la idea de perder a la mujer que ama por otro hombre. Por ejemplo, cuando Betty siempre lo dejaba para o salir con Nicolas como su venganza de querer que Armando sintiera celos extremos y ver hasta donde lo llevaría. Armando estaría apareciendo o llamando a su casa por desesperación para hablar con ella y si no eso a primera hora de la mañana barcaza a su oficina queriendo hablar sobre por qué lo dejó. Este es exactamente el hombre que dijo que nunca perseguiría a una mujer, pero esto cambia después de que Betty entra en su vida.

It's crazy to think that Armando would always have women chasing after him for his attention and affection (e.g., Marcela, Claudia Bosch, Karina Larson, Mireya (his old secretary before the arrival of Betty). After once saying to Mario that he would not chase after a women. However, Betty as she was the only one that was able to capture his heart and love which the other women that were in his life were not able to achieve. Armando once he felt that she was slipping away from him (e.g., in the situations with Nicolas and Michel) that he would chase her until she was his because he was not able to deal with the idea of losing the woman that he loves to another man. For example, when Betty was always leaving him to either hang out with Nicolas as her revenge of wanting Armando to feel extreme jealousy and see how far he would take it. Armando would be showing up or calling her house out of desperation to talk to her and if not first thing in the morning he would barge into her office wanting to talk about why she left him. This is the exact man that said he would never chase after a woman but this changes after Betty enters his life.
