I'm verrrry bad at distances and measurements, but I'm a visual person. So I drew up a ROUGH size and layout for Beths farm.

Dark green - trees Light green - grass Pink - buildings (Beths house is the very bottom) Blue - lake She also has access to the fields off the right of this doodle, that's where Moomoo runs off to when she can. And the road at the bottom leads to the highway where she met Cherry.

I have to share my old headcanon about the Manager too, now that @that-giorgione posted his cryptid design. I always interpreted this card as a person wearing a big tricorn hat with a cape and a bauta mask

The hat gives him a distinct 18th century look so when the game mentioned the red and gold colour scheme and the brass buttons this is what I had in mind:

i talk abt/ draw summer so little but she is like. my fav fav i love her sooo much n i love the specific niche she presents to the story that i rarely ever see in media but also rnm does a LOT of casual things u rarely see in long form media I LOVE HER!!!!!!!

I do want to ask, what is the lore of the humans and giants of this world? How do they live side by side, and how did they begin living with each other?

Hello! I like to keep the world a bit fuzzy, soft magic system and all that, but here is some lore doodles for you dear anon :3 [click for better quality] [rambles under read more]

Giants have always been around, cultures being tied to where they live since humans and giants meeting and sharing their skills and culture is so sweet to me. Imagine humans long ago, never seeing a giant before, being in awe.

I'm sure there were conflicts along the way, as there is in all history, but in their world they end up working together. Got me thinking about bnc spinoff of a story of the first giant and bean to bring their friendship to both sides and bring their people together. I think their story would be almost mythology in the present, since it was so long ago.

And to specifically answer the question "How do they live side by side?". There is a human side of town and a giant side of town. The giant side always has lots of tiny visitors though, and some tiny residents for one reason or the other.

Specifically the city in Beth and Cherry's world is split by a river with bridges connecting the two sides of town. There are different layouts for other cities though. <3

the professors glowing eyes in the asmodeus episode thumbnail looks Very Similar to the glowing eyes at the end of 5x01

this ones kinda minor, but still worth mentioning. ryan doesnt exactly hear whispers, but (what i am assuming is the substitute) does walk around watcher hq scaring ryan into leaving after connie outbids him.

plus this triple head imagery (along with the 3 eyes) i covered this more in debth here.

somethings gotta be happening with asmodeus. its possible that the real professors name is concupiscence, but it would be cool if the hologram is asmodeus' demon buddy. its not like shane would notice the professors first name changing (he didnt even meet the real professor) and its not like ryan knows the professors first name anyways.

im not sure if we're gonna get any more clarification on what the hologram is and where he came from (who built him? why does he have the professors mind? why he so fucked up?) but if we do, im putting all my chips on asmodeus right now. i had a strong idea that the genie was responsible (i mean, he has the most motive out of all of them) but since the lamp is in play, it doesnt make sense for the genie to want the lamp. the devil is also kinda out becuase he was auditioning to be host, and seemed kinda sad he didnt get the part. so that leaves asmodeus or another demon associated with asmodeus.

honestly after ep 5 im just so excited to see where shane is gonna take us next with the lore. there were so many twists that i thought i was prepared for but i wasnt, and i got so excited when i saw some of the theories yall have been throwing out come true. im just excited for friday! really hoping i can get some time to scream and post along with you guys becuase ill be busy with holiday stuff most of the afternoon and night.

Mekal (or Mekar), the lord of Beth-Shean

I strongly hold that the Baal Cycle is not "Canaanite mythology." The Ugarites themselves identified Canaanites as "foreign people," and Mot, in particular, is strongly suspected to be a literary invention of Ilumilku, the scribe who wrote the Baal Cycle. To subsume the myths under the vague title of 'Canaanite mythology' is a disservice to Ugarit and its creativity, in my opinion.

So that naturally brought a question to mind: are there any Bronze Age deities who are distinctly Canaanite?

Enter Mekal/Mekar. A Fresh Look at the Mekal Stele (Levy 2018) introduces us to a deity who was attested in northern Palestine during the Bronze Age.

(Levy 2018: 361)

That "r" at the end of his name can be either an "r" or a Semitic "l", hence the Mekal/Mekar options for his name. And he's attested as the lord of Beth-Shean (or Bit-Shani, if you fancy the syllabic Akkadian transcription). How cool is that?

Some thoughts about this deity: his iconography is closely aligned with Baal's known iconography from the time period (which should make one wonder if there isn't some possible synchronization afoot, as if Seth-Baal wasn't strong enough evidence, lol), with one caveat: he has Resheph's headband. So some differences!

What I draw from that is Mekal/Mekar is a Baal-like deity but with some differences. In the Pantheon universe, thus, Mekal is primarily a vegetation god with some rain-bringing abilities, not a storm god proper. He doesn't have the weather manipulation capability that Baal does, but he's good at making flowers and helping agriculture grow!

Given the strong Egyptian influence here, Mekal strikes me as the type who really likes lotuses, too. Maybe he really looks forward to the few visits that Nefertem makes in the foreign northern lands? Well, assuming Sekhmet's willing to let him out...

Anyway, Beth-Shean is a major Egyptian administrative center in the Late Bronze Age, so Sutekh likely stops in Beth-Shean often before continuing onward to Gubla (Byblos), another Egyptian holding. Mekal, with his minimal attestation, seems like a very young god (and it's suspicious that he's not attested afterward). Perhaps he was educated in Kemet as a godling and then brought back to Beth-Shean to rule it, as the Egyptians were known for doing with foreign princes. Couldn't get him to get rid of the beard, though. Some cultural influences refuse to die.
