You know what’s interesting? The fact that only nobles can be knights. Because that is what Gloreth wanted. Gloreth who played at a wishing well and who lived in a small village with farmers. Gloreth, who was almost certainly not a noble. Was she trying to avoid another Nimona, someone who came out of ‘nowhere’, and thus must be a monster? Or was it someone else, who further twisted her cruel ideology for their own agenda?

all quiet on the western front is literally a movie discussing the futility of war, of how little boys sign up to march to their death because of propaganda fed to them by their teachers and mentors who prey on their idealistic view on life. it is a film that makes you watch death after death after death, without giving you a single cause or philosophy or ideal for you to soothe yourself with—because there is none. there are only boys and men, bleeding cold and alone on the dirt and mud. there is no worth. there is no reason. there is only death.
and you reduce it to a "war movie". it's based off a book brave enough to depict the realities of war in the charged political climate of 1929, and you call it "the war movie".

What fans say:
Kung Fu Panda 2:
It's a perfectly balanced movie between comedic deliveries and heavy emotional plot revolving around trauma and healing. Also the villain is just fantastic. The best scene is obviously the climax where Po learns to feel his pain without suppressing it and turns it into energy (physically and metaphorically).
The animation is top tier the villain is good and terrifying and sooo cool, the designs are everything, the mix of 2D and 3D scenes, the music, the humor, Po's self discovery journey.. wow. Breathtaking no matter how many times i watch it.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit:
The fact that its 2d animated with dozens of well known characters in one movie is pretty cool yknow? the concept too.
This movie is astounding. It’s hand painted animation. Everything had to be shot twice to ensure eye contact was maintained between the actors and the animated characters. One set was built 8 feet off the ground for moving props. They had puppeteers moving glasses for an octopus barman.
Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper:
This movie made me a theater kid.
It's arguably the BEST barbie movie. If one of them deserves to sweep, it's this one. The music is fucking stellar.

I decided to venture on Pinterest in my search for boys in the boat content and while there is not much, this was one of the top results and IT'S LIKE A RENAISSANCE PAINTING??
The closest thing to credit I can give is that it looks like it was from a local Seattle news site but now the article itself seems to be gone (this is why Pinterest is an evil place, I want to give credit!).
Anyway. I feel very normal and am definitely not going to immediately change my profile pic to this. Great frame from the film, good job random Seattle news outlet.

i know the oscars are bs and that something like this happens every year but it's not even exaggeration i make because i personally love the movie when i say NOPE was a pure crystal decanter of cinematic elixir and it getting 0 noms for anything in any category at all is not just a insult but -legitimately- baffling
