It was all his fault, and Kazuto blamed him entirely. Asuna had spent many nights calming him down so he didn’t get himself arrested trying to “make things even,” as he called it. She could understand, some days she wanted nothing more than to be able to confront him with the business end of her rapier, but it wouldn’t bring her any peace. Harming him didn’t take away the harm he’d already done to her.
That was what the trial was supposed to do.
Asuna had been forced to stand in front of people and describe the worst moment of her life, all while the man responsible stared at her from the opposite side of the courtroom, snickering each time her voice trembled. She’d held Kazuto’s hand the entire time, squeezing it until both their knuckles turned white.
Thankfully, with the witness statement from Kazuto and the game’s log to show each player’s actions, Sugou had been convicted and Asuna was assured he wouldn’t be released for several years. She had the opportunity to live in safety until then.
So why hadn’t her brain let her feel safe?
“Hey, look at me,” Kazuto’s voice was soft, “Do you want me to log in first? I can log in on your account and get you to our cabin.”
“We have it back?” Asuna asked.
“I spent hours in New Aincrad trying to buy it again. It was a pain to get to it again, but it’s just like our first one. That’s where Yui is most of the time.”
Asuna smiled gently. Her baby was safe in their first home. If Kazuto logged into her account and moved her avatar to their cabin, surely she’d be able to then take over and see Yui again. Their cabin was safe, it was where they’d spent their first days together as a family. Nothing could hurt her there.

like an 8 or a 9 in a serious situation, 3 or 4 in a more light situation. it depends on context tbh
monopoly, mario kart, mario party, ddr, those kinds of things? anything that involves them being able to play as a big group or cheer the others on
i can see kazuto and asuna playing sims together too. shes way more into it than he is but she sits in his lap at his pc and plays it while he watches her and sometimes she asks him what he wants to do or lets him play for 5 minutes but he does it wrong so she takes over again. he buys all the packs as soon as they come out so she can play them when she comes over and he spends hours fixing the settings so she can play all 4 of the games on a good version of windows

sinon has just a bunch of cats. they were strays that showed up and her door and she fed them bc it was cold and she felt bad and then the never left. she has like seven but sometimes they bring their friends. they kinda come and go as they please but the main seven always come back of a night and snuggle with her

kazuto and suguha had fish and lizards growing up. they had a salamander and sugu thought it was the coolest thing in the world
klein… he takes care of himself barely

It had been nearly a year since Kazuto had come home, one cheek bleeding, and proudly announced, “I officially have a girlfriend! Also, I got stabbed, do you think Mom will notice?”
It had been nearly a year since Asuna had forever intertwined herself in all of their lives.
Suguha was highly aware of the fact that, to her mother, she was now no longer her only daughter. The title of Midori Kirigaya’s favourite child was now shared between three people, and Suguha knew it was truly split equally.
It wasn’t uncommon to see Asuna at the Kirigaya home these days.
Suguha often came home from kendo practice to find her laying on the couch with Kazuto, or doing something in the kitchen while Kazuto stood around unhelpfully, throwing compliments at her as she worked. Suguha would watch them for a moment, then they would notice her and invite her to join them, and she’d make an excuse that she had too much homework to finish.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to spend time with them - it was the exact opposite! She adored spending time with Kazuto and Asuna. Just, sometimes, she could tell when they really would prefer to exist in their own little world together, so she would leave them to themselves.
