When Simian told his backstory about being a prince to Ben, he wasn’t entirely lying. He was indeed a prince back home, and as he grew up was told he would be destined for greatness, would be a great king, and all that. He came to realise that most of that talk was just kind of bullcrap, and that people just expected him to be these things. So, he left, now living life as a con artist and thief, being what he wants to be. Why should he offer himself up to a ruling role? Especially to people he doesn’t really know or feel he should offer something to. He finds it’s better to live life how you want to, even if it means leaving people behind. Eventually when Undertown starts becoming a thing, he ends up bumping into Argit a lot, the two having similar jobs. Their dynamic is…strange and complicated. The two are rivals who sometimes work together, and then other times backstab each other, and yet would never leave the other in a situation where they could die. It’s as if they’re kindred spirits. Kevin even swears they’ve flirted with each other, maybe, but really it is hard to say as their entire dynamic is just confusing to watch. But they seem to be having fun with it at least.
