I’m Something Beautiful With you

Anonymous Requested: Jimin or Jin for 12 please!! “It’s our first Valentine’s Day together and I think you went a little overboard.” Part of my Valentine’s Day prompt series.

Genre: Jimin x Reader

“Be My Valentine.”

That's what the heart the medium sized bear held that Jimin dropped off at your work. You should've known then what you were in for. He’d come in struggling to hold the bear and plopped it down on the counter with a smile so big his eyes seemed to disappear.

“My friend has something to ask you.”

He turned the bear in your direction and, as cheesy as it was, you couldn't help but smile.

“Jagi, this is really cheesy.”

Jimin’s cheeks flushed a furious pink that he tried to cover up with his hands. His upper lip running over his bottom to keep his smile from widening. Your relationship was still relatively new, and it seemed he could never quite get over hearing you call him babe.

“I just wanted to drop this off with you before tomorrow.”

“What's tomorrow?” You couldn't stop your laughter as his face fell. Your arm extending out over the counter to playfully grab at his jacket. “I’m kidding!”

“Uh huh. Just make sure you’re ready by six and I'll be there to pick you up, okay?”

You gave a sharp nod as your fingers played with the bears nose.

It’d been around noon when you heard the first knock on the door. You weren't expecting any company and didn't order any food? So when you opened the door to a man with a large bouquet,you were more than a little surprised. The bouquet looked larger than a regular dozen, and you tried to count as fast as you could before he cleared his throat.

“Miss Y/L/N?”

“Yes?”

“We have an order here for you.”

He handed over the flowers and you immediately thanked him. It wasn't until you went to shut the door that you didn't fully comprehend the kind of trouble you were in. The delivery boy shyly called out to you and made you pause before you completely shut the door.

“We have more orders for you.”

“How many more?”

“A lot more.”

By the time you and the delivery boy had all the flowers inside your apartment it looked like you could create your own flower shop. There were four pairs of every kind of flowers Jimin could possibly think of. From long stemmed roses to maroon and white colored lilies to giant sunflowers. They were all lovely, but left no room in your living room. It took you a few minutes to find your phone, buried between gardenias and baby’s breath, to call him. He answered on the second ring sounding out of breath with excitement as he asked, “Did you get them?”

“Oh I got them alright.”

“Do you not like them?”

The giddiness in his tone was replaced with worry and it made you silently kick yourself. Your eyes taking in all the flowers and knew he’d only picked every single one he could think of because he didn't know your favorite flower yet. It was a sweet gesture, no matter how grand the scale. Jimin did it simply because he loved you and struggled at times to show you just how much. You leaned down to smell the floral scent of the roses and reminded yourself of that fact before you spoke.

“I love them, Jimin. I was just calling to tell you thank you. The sunflowers are my favorite.”

An airy laugh carried through the receiver, and you could imagine the smile of relief that went with it.

“Aish, you don't have to thank me, babe. I’ll remember about the sunflowers next time.”

You knew he would. Jimin always seemed to remember everything you’d ever shared with him. It didn't matter if it was something mundane or a secret you’d been too scared to share with another soul. He remembered every detail like it was his own and made it a part of him. It was one of the many things you cherished about him.

Jimin’s need to do things right carried with him into everything he did. It didn’t stem from wanting to be the best, but to only know he gave his all and it was good enough. The flowers reminding you of when you got sick a couple months back. You’d pleaded with Jimin to stay away; you didn’t want him to catch what you got, but he wouldn’t listen. He’d shown up at your door with bag fulls of different types of canned soup and porridge. Buying every flavor of medicine because, just in case you didn’t like cherry, there was grape.

Jimin had taken your temperature every two hours to make sure your fever was managed. He rubbed your feet while you watched endless episodes of whatever drama you wanted to watch. Jimin even fed you soup (no matter how many times you protested that you could do it yourself). He did it all, you knew, because he wanted you to know he loved taking care of you.

“Are you still at practice?”

You already knew his answer, but you needed him to answer anyways. Just to keep you from rambling to him about how much you loved him. Your words making his cheeks burst red and earn him a bunch of teasing from the members.

“Yeah, just a couple more hours and I'll be there to pick you up. Remember to be ready.”

“I haven't forgotten, Jiminie.”

“Ya, I just had to make sure. Sometimes you have the mind of a goldfish.”

You rolled your eyes at the truth in his statement, and let out your own chuckle as you moved around your living room.

“You never told me what I need to wear.”

“Just wear something comfortable. I gotta go. I'll see you in a bit.”

You ended your call with excitement bubbling in your chest. You weaved your way back to your bedroom and pulled out the gift you’d made for him. It wasn't super flashy or expensive, regardless you hoped it was something he would like. You made sure to place it in your purse now just in case you forgot it in your rush to leave.

When six o’clock rolled around you heard your doorbell ring in the middle of you putting on your shoes. You ended up hopping to the door trying to put on the stupid thing and stomped it on just as you opened the door.

“Hey,” you huffed over your heavy breathing.

Jimin responded with a smile while he looked you over. His hand extending out to take yours.

“You ready?”

“Of course!”

You took his hand and started exiting your apartment when you remembered you were leaving without your purse, keys, or jacket.

“Wait, I forgot my stuff!”

You bolted back into the apartment with Jimin’s laughter following right behind you.

“See, I told you you forgot stuff.”

You waved him off as you slid your coat over your shoulders and grabbed your bag, producing yourself in front of him again in record time.

“See! Now I'm ready.”

Jimin shook his head and took your hand once more and led you towards the front. A company car waiting for you both outside. He still wouldn't tell you where exactly he was taking you. The both of you sitting together in the backseat like two high school kids on a chaperoned date.

“Hyo Son, I think we’re ready.”

Hyo Son nodded from the driver's seat and pulled the car away from the curb. The both of you stayed quiet for a while. Your hands connecting in the space between you, and you watched as Jimin took off one of his rings and slid it onto one of yours. The action making you stare wide eyed at him while he answered it with a soft smile.

“I want you to have it. So that way when I'm away you have something to remind you that I love you.”

Your pulse speed up in your throat, and a thousand words you wanted to say coated the back of your teeth. His lips still smiling as his hand reached out to brush loose strands from your bun out of your face.

“Jimin, I don't need things to remind me of that. I know that you do.”

“I know, jagiyah. Just humor me though, okay?”

You leaned over and gave him a quick kiss and moved to pull his present out of your purse. You placed it in his lap and regarded him warily while his eyes looked over the tiny photo book you’d created.

“I know it isn't much, but I thought it was something you might like.”

Jimin looked in your direction before his hand opened the first page of the photo book. It was labeled, “First Date,” with photos you’d taken at the sheep cafe. You’d placed inside your favorite photo of him staring at you from across the table like you were the greatest thing he’d ever seen. The next couple pages were filled with pepero day and your hundred day anniversary.

“Is it silly?”

You started fidgeting as you looked from Jimin to the photographs inside. Your worry making you gnaw on your lip until he looked back at you. He looked ready to cry when his hands reached out to take hold of your face just before he placed a sweet kiss on your lips.

“It's wonderful, Y/N.”

You tried to hide your nervous smile but Jimin wouldn't let you. Another kiss covering up the last one he’d just given you. For a heartbeat you forgot that you weren’t alone in the van. Your thoughts strictly on Jimin and the way his hands cradled your face; how they made your messy bun messier.

When he pulled his lips away from yours, your lungs gulped in air at a greedy pace. You couldn’t stop staring at the way Jimin looked at you. A part of you wishing there was a way you could frame it in your memory forever, along with the way he made you feel. Your eyes looked away from him for a second, but it was long enough to notice you were getting on the freeway.

“Ugh, Jimin: Where are we going?”

He let out a playful sigh as he leaned back against the seat. His head lulling to the side and a playfulness you knew spelt trouble in his eyes.

“I guess since we’ll be in the van for a few hours I should tell you.”

“A few hours?!”

“We’re going to Jeju Island.”

“Jiminie!”

You covered your face with your hands and did what you could to keep from laughing. Of course he was going to spoil you by taking you somewhere like Jeju Island. Today was a special day, and you were Jimin’s special girl.
