I have to realize that Arkham City was realized in 2011, and I don't need to get all the trophies in order to watch the unlockable stuff and no one is going to judge me if I don't complete everything....ugh, but I collected all of the Riddler trophies and riddles in Arkham Asylum but that was way easier so because of that my mind is like you have to do the same thing in the next games although it's more of a chore and I really don't want to.

But regardless for some weird reason I feel guilty about watching videos showcasing the unlockable stuff you get from completing everything although the game came out a long time ago and no one is going to care if I don't complete everything

I can't believe it's taken me this long to notice but during Ruth's song just as she hits that final high note on the third 'just for once' you can hear the tune of Richie's I'm not a loser playing alongside her. It really gives the song its own standing against the other 'musical within a musical' style songs that preceded it in the earlier Hatchetverse productions. This song isn't separate from the show's core plot, but rather acts as Ruth's defiance against the 'loser' stereotype as she takes the spotlight for the first time and properly owns it.

And, on the more morbid note, Richie's tune playing behind her act of defiance perfectly foreshadows what's about to come next.

I unfortunately picked up Bravely Default 2 again (I bought it back when it released) and then started over since I last played it in June 2021. And. You know what. I like these silly beans. And then I saw concept art for Dag's expressions and I am not the same. Why did they decide to give him huge fangs in it.

(also I'm trying so hard to avoid spoilers less for plot but more for characters so if you know anything that happens to characters shhhhh. also the expression concept is below the read more so you can see what I mean.)

One thing people need to understand about me is that I am always role-playing. Even and especially when I'm playing board games where that's not the point. So to me, games where the mechanics have literally nothing to do with the framing device are kind of absurd.

#yesterday I played a board game called Animal Dominance #I had never played it before but it's one of my friend's favorites #the concept is basically the different animal kingdoms fighting each other for dominance over the planet #before even knowing the mechanics I demanded to play Insects #because I was already in the mindset of imagining how this would play out #and I just can't imagine any other group beating insects #reptiles won by dominating the tundra btw #so realism is not being well served here #but hey the mechanics matched the theme so I was able to get well absorbed

#Having a great time btw I've just been chased across a near sea of miasma by stal riders and more! 10/10 nearly died in a high speed chase #Made it out relatively unscathed which is truly amazing lmao #Spoilers ahead: I have had the funniest time doing the great plateau quest chain. Once I sucked it up and made nice with the creepy statue.#He's(?) been alright. Fair trader. Good deals. I've mostly been terrorising kohga in between absolutely failing to craft working vehicles X #His new boss fights are so much easier than the first one lol. Less fun I'll admit but the music is groovy. You can probably make a #Machine and try and dog fight him but with few exceptions the turning circles are decrepit so I just stuck to mild dodging and shooting him #And running over to hit him some more. Kinda bland for a boss fight I'll say. Could have done with a lot more pizazz. It's kohga come on.#Anyway I do feel kinda bad because apparently he's been stuck down there for however many months/years and I AM kinda cheating with the arm #After the first fight he fled to the gerudo mine and the steward very nicely showed me how to get there but never underestimate #My procrastination because I'd already found it by just exploring so I just teleported. In game it must have been terrifying lmao #Racing across an endless void filled only by the light of your rapidly running out of battery glider and the red glow of the gloom away fro #The apparently immortal ancient warrior who beat you up and tossed you down there and there's no sign of perusal so you're probably safe #But you get there and he's already sitting there poking some bananas having wiped out your goons and plundered your supplies.#Like sorry man but the arm comes with the hero territory I can't exactly take it off.#Maybe if you stopped terrorising the people purah would let you have one of her long distance teleportation slates. The whole 'Orin steals a companion' thing is really annoying, there should be some kind of warning like with Shadowheart and the forest in Act II before a major character is entirely stolen from you for the plot's sake. These kinds of games are largely built on the companion system, the primary appeal to me is that I get the chance to explore the storylines of these characters and get to know them, having one at random locked off until the end of Act III (presumably, only just happened to me) is EXTREMELY frustrating. It's important to have stakes, don't get me wrong, but the fact that I just lost a character I've barely had the chance to have content with is annoying, and since I saw that apparently characters with major plot content in the city can also be taken I can't IMAGINE how bad that must be for a playthrough, let ALONE if you're romancing the person. All they needed to do was have the 'the game may change if you venture farther in' option they use for all new or changing areas, that would've been an easy fix.

#since I talked in the tags a lil before #i also need to say that the political situation in Georgia has been a big pile of shit lately #that’s mostly why I don’t have the energy to engage with anything atm #everything is so hopeless #I just try to play video games these days to take my mind off stuff #but to explain it a bit #there is this one law the parliament already tried to pass last year but then didn’t because thousands came out to rally against it #the law is about ‘foreign agents’ and it’s directly copied from kremlin’s law in Russia #where the govt basically uses it to just cleanse the country from anyone they don’t like #So now this law is back and they have voted a yes two times #and will vote a yes third time #which is absolutely devastated news for anyone here #because if this law is instituted #basically say bye to foreign scholarships #to ngos financed from foreign countries that work to protect queer and trans peeps #rehabilitate refugees domestic violence victims etc #there will be no new roads in removed highland villages that rely mostly on international financial aid #no education opportunities for poor kids etc #this law literally equals death #and it will be heavily used to just cleanse Georgia of people who don’t think like Kremlin #and I am so fucking scared rn #There have been protests for 3 days #tens of thousands of people on the streets #but parliaments just keeps ignoring people #Or using police brutality against them #they are beating people up #jailing them for peaceful protests etc #it’s absolute nightmare #I’m just so tired of Russia #why won’t they die with everyone who supports them I wanna cry
