i have so many thoughts on why it seems like kevin's experience after leaving the nest was different. my main thought being that we just don't get to see it. neil joins the foxes months after kevin does and in the beginning he only interacts with kevin during practice, so that explains part of it.
in son nefes we only see kevin as he relates to exy or andrew (lmao). but also kevin spent his first month or so with wymack, so whatever might have been there we simply don't get to see. the extra content says that he only took his coat and wallet when he left the nest, and that in his first few months he struggled with missing his team, his inability to play, and with doubting his decision to leave.
kevin also spent longer than jean in the nest, timeline-wise it seems to have been closer to a decade, and if 5 years was enough to make jean forget the previous 14... sure, kevin was afforded slightly more decencies than jean - he had a car (who knows how often he got to use it), he had to travel for press reasons, and he had more clothes i guess. but taking it all into account we have no reason to assume it was easy for him.
but we just don't see a lot of kevin's struggles period. we don't see his thoughts we don't see all the ways in which his trauma manifests we don't see what other coping mechanisms he has besides drinking. the night training could partially be that but again. we don't know.

one important thing that Must be understood about interpersonal relationships is that you have to stop interacting with people who love you like they’re one slip-up away from leaving you. you have to trust that the ppl you love mean what they say. you have to believe that when they say “this hurt my feelings,” that they’re also saying, “can you please love me this other way next time?” and you have to wrap your head around the fact that even if you don’t understand Why someone loves you, you can accept that that they do. true, honest, & open love does not function like hp in a video game !!!!!!

i am not even kidding as a child i first learned about gay people from cardcaptor sakura. I rmr thinking there’s something different happening between her brother and his friend. And i was right. But i didnt care in fact it annoyed me i thought that took up too much time in the manga i would skip all of it to see her do magical girl transformation . And i learned about lesbians thru sakura’s friend who had a crush on her and made her costumes and stuff i might not be remembering this right but i do know the gay brother is real bc i looked it up a few years ago.

v personally & candidly speaking i rly wish how much depression can fuck w a person's ability to keep up w their personal hygiene was discussed more & w more empathy/sympathy attached.
during depression spikes my ability to keep up my personal hygiene is the first thing to go & it sucks. i Feel gross & i can't do anything abt it bc my executive dysfunction keeps me chained down in a dirt covered chokehold. sometimes for over a week.
& it's also v difficult to combat bc my disabilities make showers rly rly draining for me. like ik once i shower im down for the rest of the day, so that just adds to it as well.
i have numerous alternatives i TRY to do when im stuck in that layer of hell for awhile, but sometimes they take even more mental energy than just simply forcing myself to shower & if i could do that i wouldn't be needing to consider the alternatives in the first place
idk i just. like. it sucks feeling fucking disgusting bc u physically cannot bring urself to take care of urself & it's completely out of ur hands & knowing ur also probably judged for it u know
#idk if this even makes sense i was just thinking abt it while i was in the shower#bc it's been long enough since my last one prior that i don't rmr when it even was#& it's rly draining honestly#i can't take baths in this stupid fucking house & it sucks bc when i can take baths i do rly well w keeping up w them#they're so relaxing & comforting for me but i Have to take showers here & they're so exhausting & even painful sometimes#like the worst part of a bath is having to clean the tub but i can manage that since ik the bath will soothe me#a shower? im just in pain from standing & i can't hear anything over the water & im so tired from standing & it sucks#ive had a v v v rough couple weeks i dont even wanna hold convos anymore i just wanna be outta this gd house im so miserable#mine

just had the worst time at graduation dinner w my family and my roommate’s family :/
#nothing to do w my roommate and her family rly like they were lovely#but like#this is the first time our families are meeting after us having been friends for all of uni#bc we’re both from out of state#and like#i know my parents esp my dad can sometimes be a bit tactless during social situations#which like fine fair enough i get it it be like that sometimes#and ik it’s not on purpose or w any ill will#but like so i kinda gave them a heads up beforehand like hey just so u kno#rmr not to do/say xyz#anyways in short#they committed enough social etiquette faux pas and one huge one that just left me feeling so embarrassed#and like what’s worse is i was already worried smth like this would happen which is why i gave them a heads up and reminder#and yet while it was in the midst of happening they didn’t listen to my hints to like Fucking Stop and kept going making it worse#and like my roommate’s parents were very gracious and acted like nothing happened but i know they noticed#and it all just left me feeling so embarrassed and sad that this is what came out of a dinner between our two families#who are finally meeting after 5 years#and like afterwards my parents realized they were wrong and apologized to me#for doing all that and not listening to me#but it just sucks so bad it even happened#it was so frustrating#like my younger brother put it#it was like i was watching all my anxieties abt what could go wrong unfold in front of me#and go wrong in even worse ways than i anticipated#and it all could’ve been prevented if they listened to me#很丟臉很沒有場面：/#it’s 1:15am and i need to sleep#bc i need to be up at 7:45 to get ready for the actual ceremony tmr morning#gn 晚安 and ty for reading my vent <3#ennuitxt
