"Acadia National Park was established in 1919 the 12th amoun America's National Parks. The park is 47,000 acre Atlantic Coast recreation area primarily on Maine's Mount Desert Island. Among the wildlife are moose, bear, whales and seabirds. Its landscape is marked by woodland, rocky beaches and glacier-scoured granite peaks such as Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the east coast. Acadia offers visitors more than 120 miles of hiking trails."
