Does Echo sleep in Hunter’s bed?
No, not like that.
I mean, has Hunter given up the bunk in the Batch’s barracks room to Echo and taken that hammock for himself for the short amount of time they’d have actually spent there before shipping out and being away for a few months between the point where we see Echo joining the team and TBB Ep 01?
Whenever anyone mentions the hammock hanging in that room I always see it referred to as 'Echo's hammock' but there’s no actual evidence for it being that aside from the way the built in beds are all clearly marked up with the signs of their previously allocated occupants, but would it really be surprising if someone was willing to give up their bed to make life easier for the man with 3 prosthetic limbs?
Hunter’s bunk is closest to the door and possibly also closest to the fresher facilities, so it’d make sense for him to offer his bunk to him even aside from it being a gesture of support from the team’s leader.
.
When we first see them all file into that room, Wrecker goes and sits on his bunk, Crosshair stands next to his, Tech goes to the bench next to his cubbyhole, but Hunter goes over to the window/sofa area. Echo sits at the central table, but he’s closer to the bunk which has Hunter’s boots next to it than anyone else is.
.
And what of Hunter’s trunk?
Just before we see the boys all walk into that room for the first time the space in front of Hunter’s (possibly now Echo’s) bunk is empty:
Tumblr media
But when Omega comes snooping around a large trunk has appeared on the floor right in front of it:
Tumblr media
But that’s a weird place for it, isn’t it?
It’s facing away from the bunk, so it isn’t placed for someone to sit on the bed and look through it, and given how low it is in comparison to the level of the bed that’d be quite uncomfortable anyway.
And it’s placed right in the middle of that space between the boots and the head of the bed. Which would be an odd place to dump your own trunk, wouldn’t it?
Right where it’s the greatest amount of ‘in the way’ as it’d be possible for it to be.
Tumblr media
On the left hand side of that first screenshot of the room you can see, after significant lightening, that there’s a box of the right sort of size and shape on the shelf by the door, but it’s facing the wall so the white markings on the front aren’t visible from that side. But you can make out the shape of the hinges which indicates that we’re seeing the back of the box.
So that offers an explanation of where it might have come from.
But if it was my trunk and I wanted to look through it I’d have put it down on the table (it’s not that cluttered), or on my bunk, not on the floor. The floor is the most awkward place to put it down because it’s not only lower to the ground, so harder to rummage through, but it’s also harder to put down and pick up again, regardless of how much it might weigh.
So who put it there?
Right in the middle of that space where Hunter couldn’t possibly claim to have failed to notice it was there, or that it was open, or maybe even that a video frame had been placed inside it for him to find?
Right on top of everything else where it couldn’t possibly be missed.
.
Why would anyone who wasn’t personally using that room to sleep in even consider that if the clones’ world hadn’t taken a sudden turn for the worse and none of the team would go back into that room before their possessions were cleared out that Hunter wouldn’t be the first one to go over to that bunk, his bunk?
But it could just as easily have been Echo who’d enter that room, find the trunk dropped right in front of what’s now his sleeping space, open the lid and find that frame.
And how might the plot have developed differently if that’d happened?
Because there’s every chance that Hunter doesn’t even know that that frame exists.
.
And if that bunk isn’t currently being used by Hunter to sleep in, does that mean those are Echo’s medals?
Hunter, and the rest of the team, reject the offer of receiving recognition for their efforts at the end of the Bad Batch arc of TCW, saying it’s “Not really our thing” and “we’re just in it for the thrill” so it’s always seemed odd that he’d have 3 medals hanging on the wall of his bunk.
But we know that Echo received one after graduating from the training program, one following the events on the Rishi Moon, and it’s hardly a stretch to imagine that he might have been awarded one very recently following his return for the bravery he showed and the sacrifice he made at the Citadel.
So that’d make 3.
And nothing rules out the possibility that Echo might have accepted the medal offered at the end of the TBB arc regardless of whether the others chose not to.
Either way they could easily belong to him, and not to Hunter.

Rex, doing some late night rounds to make sure everything is in order: What the...? Fives, Hardcase, Jesse & several more troopers, camping right outside of the barracks with pillows and blankets they clearly took off their bunks: Good evening captain. Rex, flabbergasted: What are all of you doing out here?! You all need to be up at 0600 sharp! Jesse, lazily resting his chin on the crook of his arms: Oh, we know that Rex. Fives, nodding: That's exactly why we came out here to get some sleep. Rex: That makes no sense... You should be in your bunks if you're trying to have a good night's rest... Hardcase: See, that's where you're wrong Rex! Rex, confused: Uh??? Jesse: Here's the situation... Dogma snores. Fives interjects: Like, a lot. Jesse: And he was keeping us up all night. Hardcase, nodding along with them: So we all came out here to get away from his snoring, otherwise we'd just not get any sleep and we'd end up zombies in the morning... Rex, crossing his arms: His snoring isn't that bad! You usually sleep through it just fine! Fives: Yeah, because its usually tolerable. Thing is, we ran out of allergy meds and Dogma's sinuses have been acting up... Rex: You're all being ridiculous. Jesse, opening the barracks doors just to prove a point: See for yourself then. Dogma, clinging to a sleeping Tup and snoring so loudly he sounds more like a roaring rancor than a sleeping trooper: Rex: Rex: I... How is he making that much noise??? Fives: I'm more confused as to how Tup can sleep through it.

oc (x canon) - trooper AU
This is just a silly little thing that kept bugging my mind. Cori being part of the 8th division instead of being a bath house lady. There are female trooper cards for Seonhee and Kaoru etc. so why not. A great excuse to play dress up with her.
(Ishin spoilers below)
Been talking to Mimi about this but the idea is just so angsty. In her canon Cori didn't know much about what exactly Todo was doing while on duty or during certain operations, right? She didn't ask, he didn't tell. That made his death all the more sudden for her. Sure, there was the fire in Kyo and the green haori was suspect, so there were signs of things going on in the background but still.
(don't ask me how she got here BUT)
And yet the seemingly inevitable happens, he dies and she's end up blaming herself. "Why do I even have a sword if I couldn't even protect the man I love? Why did I not go with him? Why did I not talk him out of it?"
In this AU that would change. She'd be in the known. Perhaps she'd even know about Todo's secret mission as a double agent. And it would just cause her massive anxiety all the time. Seeing something brewing on the horizon, feeling it very well that things are changing and are changing fast. Captains are dying left and right.
She'd constantly nag at Todo to stay safe, to not do anything stupid, and he'd try to calm her saying how he's been in this role for months, how it'll be fine. How they are so close to make Kondo's plan reality.
Depending on why/how she joins the Shinsengumi this could either go in a way that she reluctantly stays with them as a form of carrying on his legacy, in a "he would've wanted me to live and I'm a devoted little soldier" kinda way. OR she'd absolutely not care about anything, she'd try to desert because "what is even the point anymore", not really caring if she lives or dies.

Jesse has recovered and decided to stay! Hooray, I'm glad we rescued him from that space battle. He's very cool despite the hot-pink halo he has going on.
Tumblr media
Oh, and Hot Minute has recovered and decided to stay!
Tumblr media
Oh, uh... Kelorul has... Recovered and decided to stay, too...

Grump, please, we don't have much room...

Gracie, I love the name, but please reconsider!!

after 6 years of continued efforts on my part, i got this lovely announcement:
Tumblr media
[IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A Dwarf Fortress alert box. It reads: "Your ruler has arrived with a full entourage. Your thriving site is now the capital, and with continued fortune and toil, the legend of a true Mountainhome may yet be written."]
and i realized i didnt have any rooms ready for the queen so it was a bit of a scramble to get those ready -- luckily i HAD earmarked a spot in the fort for those rooms. wise decision on past-me's part.
and not long after arriving, the queen already issued production mandates and export bans for gauntlets... just like all the other nobles.
im running low on gold with the amount of solid gold statues i'm crafting for these royal rooms...

have some P lore:
i can tell you what the rooms in two separate barracks on two separate UK bases look like and i’m gonna tell you now, unless the person that stays in those rooms is a ranked officer of some kind, they don’t usually have an en-suite bathroom situation.
edit to add: i’ve never served in the military/armed forces. i just know things. from uh. very personal experience

i kept seeing on Tik Tok videos of “Barrack Bunnies” and now i’m thinking about Hangman and Rooster bringing hookups back when they were in basic or Top Gun. do what you will with this info
BARRACK BUNNIES????? YES PLEASE???
i shamefully think when they were in basic they definitely would’ve taken barrack bunnies back to their dorms all the time. it would just be a string of quick hookups and then discussing them in detail the next day in the showers. they would definitely have some sort of points system as well. affectionately, they would be assholes, but still give you the best fuck of your life.
tee hee thank you so much for this my love!! i’m so very happy you shared this!! 💌💖

Attorneys for former Trump adviser Steve Bannon were unable to convince a judge Tuesday that they should be given a year to go through four terabytes of data and documents collected by prosecutors in their investigation.
Instead, New York County Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan gave Bannon four months to file his first motions in the criminal fraud case.
Bannon was charged in September with money laundering, conspiracy and a scheme to defraud, for his alleged role in an organization that raised millions on the promise they would privately build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
In the indictment, Bannon and the group, called We Build the Wall, are accused of pocketing some of those donations. Their trial will be scheduled for November 2023, Merchan said Tuesday.
Bannon's attorneys asked for a year to process the information, saying there's "no possible way we can go over the materials" in just a few months, but Merchan gave them until February 6, 2023.
Bannon, who was ordered in September to surrender his passport and attend all hearings in the case, arrived in a green jacket and untucked black button-down shirt. He has been charged with two counts of money laundering in the second degree, two counts of conspiracy in the fourth degree, a scheme to defraud in the first degree and conspiracy in the fifth degree.
Asked by a CBS News reporter if he believed any We Build the Wall executives cooperated against him prior to his indictment, Bannon replied, "I don't know."
Bannon added that prosecutors "haven't shown me anything yet."
Bannon has entered a not guilty plea in the case and previously called the charges "nonsense."
Bannon was indicted on federal charges in a similar case in August 2020 along with three other people associated with We Build the Wall. Bannon was pardoned by then-President Donald Trump in the federal case, in which two others, Brian Kolfage and Andrew Badolato, have entered guilty pleas. Proceedings for another defendant, Timothy Shea, ended in a mistrial and Shea will be retried, according to federal prosecutors.
An attorney for We Build the Wall, which also entered a not guilty plea in the New York case, said during the hearing Tuesday that the organization may not have enough funds to pay for his services.
Bannon's indictment comes as criminal investigations hover over many in former President Donald Trump's orbit.
Merchan is also presiding over the Trump Organization's fraud and tax evasion case, which goes to trial in Manhattan Criminal Court on Oct. 24. The company has entered a not guilty plea in the case. A block south is a civil court, where another judge has for three years overseen proceedings that led to a massive lawsuit filed on Sept. 21 by the New York Attorney General, who is seeking $250 million and an end to Trump doing business in New York. The Trumps and their company deny the allegations in the lawsuit.
Two miles away, in federal court in Brooklyn, Thomas Barrack, a billionaire friend of Trump's and 2016 inauguration committee chair, is currently on trial on charges of acting as an unregistered foreign agent in an effort to sway U.S. foreign policy in favor of the United Arab Emirates' interests. Barrack denies the allegations and has pleaded not guilty.
The ornate stone lobby in that courthouse, the Raymond J. Dearie Atrium, is named for a semi-retired federal judge who was recently called upon to serve as a special master in a federal lawsuit filed by Trump. He sued the U.S. Department of Justice in August after it served a search warrant at Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, seizing White House files, some of which were labeled "Top Secret."
Bannon was found guilty in July of Contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He could face up to two years in prison when he's sentenced this month.
Federal investigators probing the Jan. 6 attack have subpoenaed more than 40 Trump allies and supporters, including several associated with the fundraising PAC Save America. No charges have been filed in connection with that investigation.

jedi fallen order theory (bc it’s the only thing i can think about rn):
unless it’s mentioned outside the game, we never see cal’s living quarters on bracca. i think there was a dorm type place for scrappers with bunks like a barracks. they don’t get paid much (thus risking their lives just for a bonus) and probably can only afford a bunk and meals. maybe long time company employees or higher ranks get their own room or apartment. would explain why cal kept his lightsaber on him rather than trying to hide it in his living quarters. probably the risk of other scrappers going through your stuff when all you have is a bunk and maybe a chest for your belongings

I love so oni so dearly but I can also tell that I am too much of a lazy bitch for this game sometimes lol. There's definitely a lot of features that I could make such great use of if I bothered to actually try using them but I will forever do things the more wasteful and inconvenient way because that's just how I roll babey
#rat rambles#oni posting#like with my glass refinery I by all means Should make a proper cooling system for it instead of just placing it under my natural gass#generators in a absolutely fridged area a decent way under my base and calling it a day but again Im lazy#look rime is huge and cold as shit it's been over 300 cycles and it's still fridgid everywhere except the places Ive deliberately warmed#so basically my water tank my farms and my oldest barracks and great hall#speaking of Im contemplating warming one of my luxury barracks a bit so I can plant some decorative plants#it would be fully useless to do so since the room already had well over max decor but also pretty room make me happy#oh and btw the cold is basically not a problem for my dupes anymore since I have them all in warm sweaters#I had decided to heat up the main living area while heating up my farms because at the time I hadnt gotten any reliable reed fiber source#reed fiber Is available on rime but even in the starting area its usually too cold to grow them#and I was having a terrible time hunting down the teleporter I found a water guiser and 2 steam vents long before I found the damn thing#once I did finally find it tho things started looking up quickly#and by that I mean the second colony was pretty rough for a while due to my limited oxygen generation options there but it worked out#now all of my guys on rime along with my two cooks on my second base have warm sweaters#I wasnt ecpecting them to work as well as they do but they rly do make dupes damn near immune to the cold#hypothermia only rly pops up when dupes stand in liquid for too long and even before I had sweaters it rly wasn't that bad#unlike heat cold is mostly an inconvenience in regards to dupe saftey#but as long as you maintain high moral and are willing to eat the debuffs that come with hypothermia its not that pressing an issue#the main problems that come with the cold are food production and water#water freezes real easily on rime and if you dont find a way to get a warm water tank then you will run out Fast#luckily I had a lot of hot water sources to pull from but without those I can imagine how stressful it could be to set that up#actually what am I saying I've had a frozen forest asteroid playthrough where my only water source was a cool slush vent#and it Was obnoxious to deal with especially since the polluted water comes out below the freezing temperature of clean water#I do like cool slush guisers generally speaking tho they make very easy early game coolant#just annoying to work with on cold planetoids
