People keep telling me that they asked their Normal People about the walrus or fairy question, but I think peak was our mum asking her group of old college friends (of whom she is the youngest at nearly 70). Once they got past the "What's Tumblr?" they reached a 60/40 split in favour of walrus.

Hellooooo anon!
Basicallyl just the latest brand of tumblr nonsense haha. It all started with this poll by @/baddywronglegs and it snowballed from there.
Many blogs of the tumblrsphere became enraged by people's answers and by the reaction to people's answers and then by the reaction to the reaction to people's answers. (Check the replies and reblogs of the og post.)
Meanwhile the rest of tumblr began furiously memeing the hell out of it. Some of them are quite funny hence my reblog, though I realised, thanks to your ask, that I have never actually reblogged the original poll or any of its rb chains... So, sorry for the confusion there haha
