First successful potatoes harvest. The vines are still growing. These are what I was able to reach down in the barrel and pull out. About 2 1/2 pounds worth. Washed them up and now they are in the pot boiling. I'm gonna smash them down and saute them in bitter when they are done. So excited. Potatoes have been a struggle for me because gets so hot where we live that the vines just give up and die off. You've come to the right place! This guide will show you everything you need to know to start growing Oyster mushrooms- whether you're looking for a hobby or have aspirations to start a small farm. Oyster mushrooms are relatively easy to cultivate on a variety of lignocellulose substrates, such as wheat straw and even paper. To start Oyster mushroom farming, you will need to choose the right substrates, prepare the substrate, spawn the mushrooms, case the substrate, and allow the mushrooms to fruit and harvest. You will also need to pay attention to mushroom post-harvest disposal and reuse. Harvestable mushrooms typically appear 18 to 21 days after casing, and pins develop when the carbon dioxide content of room air is lowered to 0.08 percent. Additionally, White Oyster Mushrooms don't grow well in straws, especially if you use the upper part of the straws. Had the privilege of trying the first vintage of Chateau Chantilly, which my cousin @j.kolodny grows in the wilds of Los Angeles. He and his family literally have vines ascending up the hill of their backyard. Let me emphasize this backyard is not large. We sampled a 2020 Pinot Noir/Syrah and a 2021 Pinot Grigio. While I shouldn’t doubt anything they do, these wines were really good.
