These silver earrings with a pink stone was first worn by Mahidevran Sultan in the twenty-third episode of the second season of Magnificent Century. Two episodes later, they appeared again on Aybige Hatun. The earrings can then be seen on Gülfem Hatun in the thirty-sixth episode of the same season. They were also worn by Mihrimah Sultan in the fourth episode of the third season as well as by an older Mihrimah in promotional material of the same season.
The earrings become part of the plot in the thirty-seventh episode when they are used to identify Nigar Hatun as the kidnapper. However, Nigar does not wear them in the thirty-sixth episode when the viewer saw her commit the crime.
The earrings appear three times in the fourth season, first on Nurbanu Sultan in the eighth episode, then on Defne Sultan in the twenty-eighth episode and lastly on Hümaşah Sultan in the final episode.

Who qualifies as a minor female character? For the sake of clarity, we’ll define minor ladies as those who are either not titled ‘Sultan’, or those who are but not listed in or directly after the opening credits. ~Hümaşah Sultan~
Hümaşah was born Manisa. She might be born in autumn 1543 during visit of Hürrem Sultan or she might be posthume child of Sehzade Mehmed. According to historian Alderson, her mother's name was Aya. It is known that Aya was married off to Pertev Pasha. After Sehzade Mehmed's death, Hümaşah and Aya Hatun moved from Manisa to Istanbul, Old Palace. Hümaşah was close to her grandparents and her cousin, Ayşe Hümaşah, daughter of Mihrimah Sultan and Rüstem Paşa. Perhaps, both girls were educated together. Both of them were close to their uncle Sehzade Cihangir. Apparently an outgoing personality, the teenage Changir was the perfect uncle to his nieces.
In 1566/1567 Hümaşah was married off to the third Vezir, Ferhad Paşa. The marriage lasted 8-9 years till Ferhat Pasha's death on 06. January 1575. The ceremony took place in the Old Palace. From marriage with Ferhad Pasha she had several children. The known ones are: Sultanzade Hüsni, Sultanzade Osman, Fatma Hanimsultan, Sultanzade Ibrahim, Sultanzade Mustafa. They had at least 4 more daughters but the names are unknown, probably because they didn't reached adulthood. It appears that some of the childern were twins. In August 1575, Hümasah remarried to Sokolluzade Lala Mustafa Pasha. But the marriage lasted also till Lala Mustafa Pasha's death, on 7. August 1580. They had a son Sultanzade Sokolluzade Abdülbaki. Her third marriage took place in 1581 with Gaazi Mehmed Pasha who outlived Hümasah. They didn't have children together.Hümasah sultan also educated and trained Safiye and presented her to her cousin Murad, son of Selim Il and Nurbanu. Safiye lived in Hümasah's household after her abduction but Safiye's role in Hümasah's household is still unclear.
Hümasah Sultan died in 1582, the cause of death is unknown. She is buried in Shezade Mosque. The Mosque was built in honor of Hümasah's father, Sehzade Mehmed.
Her children are also buried in Sehzade's mosque.

My last post of the season 3 rewatch (I will rewatch season 4 and then season 2 of Kösem, but possibly only after a pause) is going to concern the speculations and headcanons on the fate of Cihan and her child.
In short, I have very bad news - I think the child was either born dead, died during birth or when it was very little. I mostly base it on the jarring absence of Cihan and her daughter in the entire season 4. Because if their beloved, tragically lost Mehmet really did have a little girl, you can bet Hürrem and Süleyman would keep her, if not also her mother, very close by, just like they did in history.
Which kinda sucks, because I so wish we got Cihan and little Hümaşah in season 4! They probably wouldn’t have that big of a role anyway, only appearing about as often as Rana, or hanging in the background like Gülfem. They would live in the harem or maybe Mihrimah’s palace, and Hümaşah and Ayşe Hümaşah could even become close friends. Ofc it would be a bit awkward to have two girls with almost the same name in such close proximity, but whatever, the show could just give Mehmet’s daughter a different name than she has in history - after all, they did the same with Hatice’s daughter.
Mehmet’s daughter could stay mostly in the background like Ayşe Hümaşah, but now that we are already rewriting the show - I really, really want Ayşe Hümaşah and her cousin at the tail end of the show as Süleyman’s favourites, the two people he in his advanced age can never refuse and who give him some solace after Hürrem’s death. The bond between both of them, as well as with their grandfather, could be really interesting to see, especially if they got distinct personalities and some influence on the politics (maybe siding with Mihrimah?)...

I am finally taking the step and watching the latter half of Episode 99, the part that starts with the birth of Ayşe Hümaşah, the daughter of Mihrimah.
This is legitimately hard for me. I don’t think that watching anything fictional has been this hard.
Edit: Okay I can’t do it. I legitimately can’t do it. It fills me with rage and cringe. It is absurd but I physically can’t continue with it. This is my third trial.

Hey ! So i have saw your post about Hatice...just a golden piece ! So here i ask you something with a little but of imagination...in your opinion how Ayse Humasah could be as a main character in the show ? And what do you think of her relationship with her mother ? I found it, quite cold with her. We don't have many interactions between them but she never mentionned her daughter and in the last episode she even plan her wedding as her own mother did many years when she's just a teen. I mean...Rustem is FAR MORE present with her daughter, he give him more affection and even a pretty bird. What do you think ?
Aww, thanks <33 I was inspired by an awesome meta! 😊
I don't have much of an opinion on Ayşe Hümaşah, tbh. She didn't have much personality or screetime and it's like she was glossed over from the start (even her birth happened during a time skip, hence it was shown very briefly), except for one plot line where she was more of a plot device than anything else.
With that said, yes, she's not a main character in the show, but she could work as one. Her mostly absent personality (except for her love for her mother and father) makes her potential practically limitless: she has quite some material for her own story and we could parralel her or contrast her to her own mother and father without issue. I feel if she were a main player, she would've gotten a love story of her own, since that seemed to be a trend for the princes and sultanas in the show. I see her finding her own voices and agency and helping her mother and father in a way, though Mihrimah may try her best not to put her into this whole game. (especially after she was abducted as a baby) It would be interesting to observe her relationship with Hürrem and her relationship with the remaining princes and their baby nephews - I feel we can experiment as much as we wish there. Her relationship with SS would be interesting to explore, too, because we barely saw him with his nieces and nephews and him being close to Hümaşah, for her reminding him even more of Mihrimah. There's a lot that can be done with this character, no shortage there, and I would've loved to see it.
We don't see a lot of Ayşe Hümaşah's relationship with Mihrimah, so I don't have much of a stance here, either. It's clear she cares about her, though: she was very concerned when she was abducted by Nigar (and I admit I loved how protective mama bear Hürrem got on Şah and Hatice when she was questioning them for the abduction!) and she sure loved her daughter, it's just they had a lack of screentime that didn't allow them to be fleshed out. From what I remember, Mihrimah does want to keep her out of problems, however you're right about her planning her marriage - a result of Mihrimah adapting more to her environment and even hardening because of it. I didn't see her as cold to her, rather more composed, more showing that she knows better, with Mihrimah to Hümaşah I got more the "acting like the more mature mother" vibe whenever a conversation between them happened. This relationship deserved more.
Yes, we had considerably more material (but not that much more) with her and Rüstem, but I think these scenes served more to humanize Rüstem at least a little bit through his relationship with his daughter, which is something Mihrimah didn't really need. I can't really say which parent was more loving to Ayşe Hümaşah, because the material was so few and far between.

This red cloak with brown fur was first worn by Hümaşah Sultan the twenty-second episode of the fourth season of Magnificent Century.
It appears again on Fahriye Sultan in the tenth episode of the first season of Magnificent Century: Kösem.

I love your deconstruction of Kosem's character a lot. Btw, who are your favourite female characters in both the MC and MCK world?
Ah thank you so much! 🥰
Such sweet messages just make me still want to keep this blog running even though tumblr is dying and it feels so lonely here now.
I’m mostly a stanner of less powerfu/more underrated characters, Kösem is literally the only of most important SOW sultanas I truly stan in the shows.
MC: Mahidevran, Hatice, Fatma Sultan, Şah, Mihrünnisa, Defne, Gülfem, Firuze (ahahah) ,Mihrimah (more as character creation I love than character I have strong emotional bond with, not saying she’s a bad person though)
MCK: Kösem of course (all Kösems, but most of all Nurgül!Kösem) Handan, Hümaşah, Gevherhan, Telli Hümaşah, Gölge, Lalezar, both Ayşe Sultans, Şivekar
I like a lot more of course!
Out of big “5″,*unpopular opinion time* I really dislike Hürrem, she’s a fine character creation, but never spoke to me at any level & I personally find her annoying (and while I understand that/why she has her fans, I still find her vastly overrated tbh, I think without Meryem and her “meme expressions” she wouldn’t be as worshipped, as we can see how Vahide! Hürrem is treated by the fandom and it’s still very much the same character at the core) *end of unpopular opinion time*. I find Mihrimah and Nurbanu interesting&entertaining characters, Safiye was an iconic villain, and well... I really, absolutely hate MYK Turhan 😊.

hello! Hope you are doing well! I have seen in your post somewhere that Mihrimah"s daughter is accorded "Sultan" title by Suleiman himself. Is there any documentary evidence of it? Thanks!
Well, yes, as Süleyman was the only one who could accord titles.
The documentary evidence is in the Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü Arşivi (the Foundations Archive) where Ayşe Hümaşah is listed as Ayşe Sultan in relation to her foundations, I guess. In harem registers, she was listed as Ayşe Sultan as well.

Restarting my Magnificent Century rewatch everybody! In our last entry, Mihrimah married Rüstem and there were some implications of what might’ve been marital rape, if it wasn’t for the fact that Minette headcannoned it out of existence, because a) Ayşe Hümaşah was born like two years into the marriage, so there is some leeway; b) Mihrimah being a rape victim would drastically change her characterization in ways that I do not think the canon supports; c) Mihrimah is a princess, she could and would refuse despite most Ottoman women not having that choice; d) yes, I am convinced Mihrimah would fuck Rüstem even this early on (y’know, not IMMEDIATELY, but after like a year of marriage), and very eagerly, because I am indeed convinced that despite not liking him as a person, Mihrimah does consider Rüstem hot (but that’s a discussion for later episodes).
In this entry, Mihrimah becomes a mother and Lütfi reaches peak inceldom, so stay tuned, lads and ladies (and everyone in between)!
