Something super pointless and self-indulgent I've had on the backburner for a while. I love trying to make the pieces they gave us fit together!

Al-AN and Robin would absolutely bond over learning about each other's biology. I could talk about this forever but I'll get into all of the headcanons I have for these two in another post eventually

Architect Anatomy A. Architect "Brain" - Doesn't "store" information so much as allow for easy communication with the network B. Brainstem - connects the information received to the central nervous/circulatory system C. "Heart" - Circulatory system pumps the bioluminescent fluid to other organ systems and surface veins. Each node connects to a vast vasculature network D. "Kidneys" - Organs that filter the bioluminescent "blood" and other bodily fluids, absorbing and distributing collected material E. Nerve Center - Receives raw sensory data and filters it. Filtering can be unconscious or intentional

F. "Respiratory" Tract - Intakes gases or liquids and filters out material for use. Disposes of waste on exhale. Provides cooling to internal systems

The respiratory tract functions less like a set of lungs and more akin to a computer's cooling system, with the ability to absorb material from the environment to use in other parts of the body. It also would likely help the architect's body analyze the environment it is currently exposed to on a molecular level. It is also truly unidirectional, with the intake vents near the "collarbone" and the exhaust vents on both sides of the abdomen

The architect organ cache in-game felt like it was definitely not a complete model of the internal organs, so I wanted to come up with something to fill some more space. I also just really liked the idea of Al-An being capable of something similar to breathing, without having a respiratory system in the traditional sense. Feel free to use any of this in your own headcanons if you would like :)

One thing i love about psychonauts is how the way the mental enemies / collectibles are implemented inherently give an extra bit of world building / character exploration in mental worlds. Like. That’s insane thats sooo fucking good.

The figments that are also designed to look like Helmut’s wedding under the stage, showing you that he clearly remembers that, if vaguely, if nothing else. The root of the bad mood in bob’s level being on the table where figments of Ford and Lucy sat at his wedding. The lack of any censors in the milk man conspiracy being an intentional choice until the point near the end where they finally show up. How you dont find any emotional baggage in Tomb of the Sharcoughagus until you get to the astrolathe section.

Like they dont need to go out of their way to say anything about certain levels because the way the entire game is set up is inherently built to give you extra little tidbits of details. AUGH.

Ema: she is literally everythingggg to me. she has wanted to be a forensic scientist since she was 16 y/o and introduces forensic investigation mechanics to the series like luminol and dusting for fingerprints. when she does not get her dream job, she becomes depressed and bitter, only cheering up when she talks about forensic science. later on, when she attains the job, she is much happier! science is her entire life and her career and she is tremendously autistic about it. also she's such a girlboss i love her <3 Athena: Looks at your pfp. You know. BUT LIKE SERIOUSLY SHE'S SO GOOD I LOVE HER. She's silly but she's so determined and her sibling-ish attitude with both Simon and Apollo are EVERYTHING to meeeeee she's just trying her best to save Simon and then finds new friends along the way at the WAA. She's a lawyer and a psychologist all at once. She also grew up in a space center.

Aura: I think she's really cool and such a tragic character... one of my favorite AA5 characters for sure and I love how much she cares for her brother and I just!!! Think her role in the plot is fascinating!!! Willing to kidnap people just to save one person!!! A desperation that lasted SEVEN YEARS!!! She's so cool I love women

Iris: She's 10 years old and is a doctor with a Phd in medicine as well as an inventor. I think that says it all. But really she's just so sweet and lovely and I think she deserves to be crowned for her achievements in her field at her young age :)

Arthur and John love each other. Obviously. And that's what makes them so powerful. It's how they've survived this far. Exactly how Arthur says in ep 30.

But at the same time, it's what led to the events of ep 20. they didn't want the king to win, but the fear wasnt about the king getting more powerful, it was about losing each other.

And then there's all the examples of people clinging to or becoming horrific things because they remind them of their loved ones. Kellan and the vanguard. The widow on the island. The wraith, even. If popular theories are correct, Marie and whatever's in that secret room.

(I'm not getting into Larson and his family. I don't think he ever loved them. If he did, he would never have done that)

I don't fully know what I'm getting at here. Love is powerful, I guess. With the capacity to cause great and/or terrible things. It's such a human thing.

She'd probably fly off of angel island NJFNANFNANF. she's so incredibly anxious about meeting others that aren't from the island (If she meets new people it's because they come to angel island) but she does crave something different! new experiences!! She cannot glide as well as Knuckles can, but with her greater-than-average speed from sonic/shadow, she can give herself a running start and do a pretty efficient dash.

Also tysm!! ;-; When I came up w the idea to make a sonknuxadow fankid, I wanted her to have a very knuckles-focused backstory with smaller elements of sonic and shadow's genetics in there because I looooove echidna characters sm and I want more of them. If you want some more specifics abt her design, she's a little. Fluffy?? She has a curlier fur texture (think of those devon rex cats!) and she got the length of it from Shadow (I'd like to think he's fluffier).

She's not quite the type for adventuring yet, and Knuckles isn't quite quick to train her either. Knuckles's responsibility as the master emerald guardian is an all-encompassing job that has taken over his entire life and wasn't exactly something he asked for. He wants to give Jade the choice to persue what she wants without giving in to expectation (Hey look a trans allegory!)

while waiting for The Stream (horror sting) I watched snapcube play thru the final levels of Psychonauts 2 and god. Absolutely insane but every time I think I’m through with this game or it’s losing its charm I rewatch some bits and it just lights things up in my brain again.

voice acting really stuck out to me this go around, just. AUGH. So many good voices, I’m fascinated by how well everyone does and just how nicely every voice rings out in my brain. Bob has such a lovely voice ohhh he sounds so sad and somber and sweet I love an old man.
