Before the eclipse hits my area I just wanna say I am genuinely praying for a souls game event to happen to me. I need to be cursed within a loop of never ending life and death. I need to travel a mysterious and foreign land and grow stronger with the help of a beautiful woman. I NEED to be rent in twain by a massive beast and watch the bottom half of my body land across from me while the light fades from my eyes only for me to gasp back into reality at the last shiny checkpoint. I'm convinced that if Yuma had died during the labyrinth duel between Astral and Black Mist, he would've turned into a barian bc he's got that chaos in him + that would be an incredibly tragic death which seems to be the prerequisite to becoming a barian

I kinda find it funny how most of the fandom swings in a "Meta Knight is an outlier and should not be counted, puffballs/astrals are more accurately portrayed by Kirby, copying is native to them until they grow out of it" direction

meanwhile I'm over here vibrating in "Meta and Galacta are the closest this series has to an example of what puffballs/astrals are like, Kirby is a fucking anomaly and being able to alter himself freely to attune to any other species is a Him Specific Thing and would weird out any other member of his species"

Ever since of their recent paranormal expeditions, proto had been... acting odd...MA didnt know what happened, ma had blacked out and must have missed what happened, but MA was worried. MA knocked on protos apartment door, they lived in separate apartments but in the same building.

"Hey, P. You in there? You good?"

Proto qpproached MA from scorps apartment, scorp looked HORRIBLE. Scorps hair was disheveled and scorps eyes had this look of pure horror.

"Oh...hi M, yea im good just having the world allergic reaction ever...thats all"

"I-its nothin...how about you- didnt ya pass out?"

"Proto i get youre worried about me but thats not relevant right now...you look like-"

"ALRIGHT HAVE A GOOD DAY BYE!"

Proto slammed the door closed. Very out of character for scorp. Usually scorp would chat with ma for hours on hours if scorp could, they were best friends and had been for years ever since MA had moved to nevada.

Ma didnt really try to press the issue further, and left to go call any of protos other friends to see if this was something that had happened before

MA went to go check up on proto again, knocking on scorps apartment door.

No answer

Ma kept knocking, effectively punching the door to no response. Luckily ma and proto had eachothers apartment keys just in case something happened. Or one of them wanted to scare the other.

Ma barged into protos apartment to find...

"Wh- what the - fuck...FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!!!"

Proto was dead. Blood staining the roght side of one of the rooms in the apartment.

Ma stood there in shock, not noticing the spectre forming behind ma until-

"...uhm...ma. what are you doing in my apartmen-"

"JESUS!!!"

And yea ...proto is a ghost now i guess.

And thats the start of this insanity!!

The Emperor's timeline

or: im so normal about this illithid. wait, no come back-

balduran is fucking around and comes back with a shitton of gold. builds a gate for the port. that becomes baldur's gate

balduran leaves for another expedition. shipwrecks on the way back

werewolf island

goes to moonrise towers because the bitch is obsessed with fame and fortune. a true adventurer

gets caught by a fucking illithid colony and infected.

spends 10 years under the control of the elder brain there

ansur shows up and saves him with the power of bronze dragon dick love and friendship

ansur tries to find a cure no matter what. balduran is an anomaly, having kept the memories and personality of who he was prior to the infection, something that just. does not happen. ever.

balduran is like. fine. with being an illithid. ansur isnt.

ansur decides to mercy kill balduran in his sleep. balduran kills ansur in self defence

balduran makes a life in baldur's gate, and basically since he HAS to eat brains in order to survive, he "eats criminals' brains"

i think thats how he got involved with the knights of the shield, a neutral to lawful evil organisation that controls the interests of rich and powerful people

stelmane, a devil worshipper of Gargauth's cult (aka an archdevil turned deity of evil, corruption, trickery, greed and envy) was leading the knights of the shield. that was before he started controlling her

balduran, as an illithid would, developped a weird sort of. pet fondness for his thrall. which makes honestly that whole thing so pathetic. but she was an evil devil worshipping politician so it was a girlboss move of them actually-

balduran gets captured by gortash sometime during gortash's rise to power / setting up of the absolute plan. i think it's around when stelmane started getting worse - a note in an aide's journal marks that she got worse when the "strange visitor stopped coming to see her"

balduran is now under the control of the elder brain again. who is so so so pissed at the Chosen.

the Absolute Nether Brain sends dreams of the Astral Prism to the Chosen, so they get worried about it and want to send someone to find it (hence the cultists on the ship)

the Nether Brain sends him specifically to the strike team on the nautiloid

the Chosen also make a deal with Sharr about helping them retrieve the Astral Prism. sharr double crosses them. that's how shadowheart gets on that thing

that nautiloid is the one the game starts on, escaping from the githyanki after stealing the prism

balduran/the emperor sees an opportunity for freedom and just fucking hides inside the Prism
