Not a hot take. If you read Realm of the Elderlings when you are young, you’re screwed.

Nothing comes close to that level of character depth in such a rich fantasy setting.

I have never read something as satisfying as Burrich beating the absolute shit out of Galen and I know afterwards Fitz stated he felt no satisfaction from seeing the bruises Galen had but I certainly did LMFAOO

I'm only halfway through Assassin's Apprentice so I feel like this is probably going to be "oh you know nothing nonnie" but currently but I think it's really interesting just how much Chivalry overshadows the narrative? Like he wasn't there at all and then he dies, he never appears on page, but he's still such a present character who impacts so much going on both with court politics and with Fitz's own character arc and storyline

Chivalry’s ghost is a main character in the entire series. #1 haunter of the narrative. I mean Fitz’s name literally just means son of Chivalry
