I'm talking exclusively about "TB and TG" I hate Aegon and Aemond, but I don't like Helaene and Daeron either. Daeron is like a parrot repeating everything after his brothers, without having his own point of view. The fact that Helaene and Daeron are more or less decent people does not make them saints (the bar is quite low when comparing them with Aegon and Aemond).
Why is Helaena considered a victim or almost a saint? No one dragged her to Aegon's coronation by force. It was Helaene who made a much better deal than her younger brothers. After Aegon's coronation, Helaene became queen, her eldest son the Prince of Dragonstone, and her daughter a possible future queen. Helaene, like her brothers, knew that Rhaenyra was the heir to the Iron Throne, but she, too, decided to ignore it. I don’t know, but when she asked Aegon to have mercy on their sister, it sounded for me like this: “We have already taken Rhaenyra’s inheritance from her, now let’s kill her husband, take the dragons, and send Rhaenyra and her children into exile. This is not on our hands there will be blood of innocent children and my conscience will not torment me so much."
Hi and sorry for the huge delay :)
Warning *spoilers for The Blacks & the Greens* please read on at your own peril
Well I would ask why should Helaena do anything for Rhaenyra or side with her when Rhaenyra never did anything for her, or properly tried to be her friend? 🤷🏽♀️ Her family for better or worse were the people she was closes to, same for Daeron. Also since Daemon tried to kill Helaena and insulted her in Ch. 154, and mocked her, I don't think we could expect that she would have any sympathy for him. That would not be believable in the slightest.
For better or worse, this is Helaena and Daeron's family.

i think alicents reaction to rhaenys disrupting the coronation is soooooo indicative of her relationships with each of her kids bc like. she tells criston to defend helaena, who she thinks of as the most fragile and in need of protection (ahem she sees her younger self in helaena ahem), but doesn’t do it herself, bc i think there is a fundamental distance between them, since alicent loves her daughter but doesn’t understand her. aemond doesn’t get a mention, because he has always been the child she sees the most as an adult, her equal she believes on some level can take care of himself. and aegon. she stands in front of aegon. which is suchhhhh a significant thing because. it will not do anything. alicents body won’t protect aegon if meleys decides to burn them, it will just kill them both. alicents life is aegons life, she was married to viserys for him, she became queen for him, everything she did from when she was a teenager was for him. and how beautiful and tragic and horrible that she just decides in this moment that if aegon dies she will die too.
