I’m doing my third annual Pride Dice Drop this Sunday June 4 at 5pm EST, and the style this year is petri dice! I did as many Pride flags as I could manage (some of the ink colors didn’t behave together), and I’m so excited and proud to be sharing the results.
I don’t have room to fit all of the detailed dice photos in this post, but there are 13 polyhedral sets, 11 d20s, and 5 confetti chonky 30mm d20s made from the flashing of several sets.
I wish everyone love and affirmation, and hope to see you soon!
Faerie Fire Purple…I tried both gold and metallic purple and gold ink was little bit too yellow. So metallic purple it is ✨🩷💜💙 I think they look great❣️Our next shop update May 23rd 5:30 pm PDT!
The more i think about it, the more content I am to live in a world where some of my bookshelf is stocked with unpublished fics written by friends- hard copies only a few are lucky to own. A world where much of my jewelry is made by those who took the time to cinch each metal ring with pliers and string, strange, wonky clay beads of their own design. Where a lot of my wardrobe is decided, not by what I bought on a whim, but what others who could sew and knit thought to make for me. Where the art in my house was painted and drawn by a pair of hands I've held, but only 300 followers on Instagram have seen with their eyes. A world where the folklore I tell my children is the DnD sessions I played with my party, and the fairy tales I made up when we walked along the hiking paths in the woods.
I want to live in a world where the people I call geniuses, artists and artisans are the people I personally love.
YAY!!!!! My skele trivet from @claypigeonpottery just arrived today!!!!
Currently, it has settled down onto my end table, which is where the handmade pottery items apparently live. There are some handy rubber stoppers at the bottom, which will keep my cats from reenacting the Great Jar Destruction of 2023. (As much as cracks add character to said jar, I really do prefer it when breakable things go un-broken)
“Martin Margiela of the 80s and 90s is Jean Louie’s most valued inspiration, held high on a pedestal, on a Biblical level. There was a time he only spoke about Martin Margiela’s genius tendencies, DIY and Tabi Boots. The raw and DIY aesthetics are what lead Castillo to proceed his dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Although Margiela’s garments are made of high quality finishings, Castillo found himself falling deep into void of purposeful imperfections; a world he didn’t realise was allowed in fashion. He found himself loving the ugly and the unconventional - as he should’ve foreseen due to his admiration for Punk music in college, but there was something completely different between Vivienne Westwood’s DIY to Martin Margiela’s DIY.
Castillo lived (lives) for strong aesthetics, one of his peeves in visual creativity are things not aligning or matching in his own desired way, spaces, art, nature, man-made constructions, designs, architecture, words and aesthetics he has no control over. This is the outcome of a person who was raised on Tumblr and Pinterest, or there was something wrong in his childhood that made him need to latch onto a specific style or colour of something. As a child, he was sickeningly possessed by the colour blue; everything had to be blue: the walls, the bed, the clothes, the shoes, accessories, his belongings, and even his food. He even chose Ravenclaw as his Hogwarts House, even though he was an alleged Gryffindor (according to a Buzzfeed Quiz). He grew out of blue in the end.
Unsure of the exact day, Jean Louie found himself collecting things that are black or white. He found symbolism in the shade Black as an act of rebellion against conformity. He was confused why people only wore black at funerals, so he decided everyday is a funeral (for laughs…but seriously, though). He discovered Underground-England and bought 4inch Creepers that he wore to his cousin’s grandmother’s funeral. He felt alive in black.”
[sees something on etsy that is 100% a superfluous luxury item that would spark joy like you wouldn't believe but has no necessary practical purpose and is also three digits Expensive] wheeeeeeeze,
Made some shot glasses with the MSA Ghost skull emblem and spiky vines. Messed up a little and got kind of terrible overspray going on. Didn't mask off high enough nor was careful enough with the airstream direction while sandblasting, so there's some obvious frosting on the insides of three of them, and some less obvious but there-if-you-know-what-to-look-for on a fourth. One each of the big-skull-some-vines and small-skull-more-vines turned out fine.
Made these over a year ago, but didn't photograph them until today.
