You were asking about larry fics awhile back, were you going to make a post following up on that? 🤔 (archiveofourown org/works/37941871?view_full_work=true) word search "larry stylinson" and read the paragraphs around it. This is what a current day "canon" larry fic written by a larrie reads like. This author was on the ao3 boycott list for a reason, a newcomer could easily fall into the conspiracy through reading a popular fic like this in 2022.
I was asking about people who read larry fics and why they read them because I saw a larrie say that they want the characters to SUFFER before they get together and I just don't relate to that at ALL. I wondered if this was something characteristic of larry read and written by larries (larries require the oppression in order to stan), or just a common things that i just didn't get.
I ended up not getting enough replies to be able to make sense of it, so I dropped it.
Regarding this particular fic -- my god, infinitelymint is STILL WRITING LARRY???????? it's interesting that she says that fic is 7 years in the making, which it would HAVE to be, to be "canon compliant" in 2022.
I can't imagine that there would be new larry readers in 2022 who aren't already conspiracy theorists. Back in 2015/2016 it was more of a concern due to the sheer number of fics there, but there are other m/m ships with LOTS of fic that are more popular so someone just looking for fic will find, say, steve/bucky or buck/eddie before finding their way to larry.

An observation as a newbie in the fandom, I noticed the rads who get more reblogs are the ones who are not openly hating on Harry, a personal observation. The "larries" who fight with other larries and rads are very similar to antis in that they live in their headcanons. Why I call them 'shippers' as the ship is what they care for and anything affecting their ship is unacceptable. Same as antis with their fantasies lol.
I dont know how many notes people get cause I'm not keeping up with the fandom much but if you're new perhaps you missed c**tgate, the fake boycott, us being "sick fuckos", sabotaging a Louie charity project, mocking fan efforts to support MY until three months passed....
I have no idea what the situation is now. I just know that as an "og rad" I started getting attacked over two years ago and it hasn't let up. The same lies are still parroted--most recently in my ao3 comments which was lots of fun--and anyone who accidentally reblogs me or recommend my writing gets "helpful anons" informing them of what a vile evil person I am. I get blocked by new old blogs every month.
So I don't know, I can't see much of what's going on as they successfully sectioned me off from fandom. I see lots of people who are more vocal about their dislike than I ever was still able to reblog and participate in discourse so 🤷

AO3 Larrie boycott author rec list
In an attempt at remaining a neutral blog I feel it my duty to tweak a ‘recent’ boycott post. While I was able to reblog a list of suggested Larrie authors to boycott, many people were not able to do so as they found themselves blocked by the OP. I feel it only fair that everyone has the chance to see and reblog this list. While I do not condone boycotting people for their beliefs I will send my appreciation to the OP of the boycott list for their work towards finding Larrie authors on AO3 and full credit of this list goes to them. The track antis are on now, pretty soon they’re gonna start waging war on fanfics because their Fandom Rules state that we can only ever refer to the exact realities of life and no fiction is allowed in fandom lmao. Like y’all gotta lighten up a bit, because it just makes it seem like you have problems with what makes up a huge part of fandom culture- fiction. Call out the actual disrespect. Don’t sit on your self appointed thrones and call out EVERYTHING that doesn’t exactly adhere to reality.

AO3 tinhat boycott list
here is a list of authors on ao3 who are also conspiracy theorists. for the uninitiated: there is a significant portion of the content-creators in the 1D fandom who believe that their ship, harry/louis (larry stylinson or larry) is real. they are called larries and should be differentiated from larry shippers (those who engage in normal fandom behavior and know their fictional ship is not real). larries are conspiracy theorists, and you will see them referred to as tinhatters. **13 feb 2018** i’ve changed the title from larrie to tinhat and i’m adding more tinhat authors as i find them in other fandoms.
want to blacklist them? here’s a tutorial on using ao3 savior. that link also contains more information about the reasons behind the list and how an author is put on the list or why they are left off. [n.b. the script is case sensitive, use case of name present on the current list.]
wondering if an author is a larrie but they aren’t on the list? send me an ask! i’ll do my best to sort it out.
methodology: i sorted 1D fics on AO3 by h/l and with most kudos first (to prioritize with the fic that would most likely be read by a new reader), english, and completed only, and clicked through. if i couldn’t prove they were larries (no other SM linked to pseud OR nothing glaringly larrie on linked SM) i’ve left them off the list. this is definitely not complete. it is a work in progress. all names are the AO3 pseud, and earlier versions of the list contained additional information about what i found to put them on the list. i have removed that information for streamlining, but if you’re curious, inbox me and i can provide it.

Someone made a “AO3 Boycott Larrie List” with a list of authors on ao3. According to the original post it’s a “list of authors on ao3 who are also conspiracy theorists”. Someone taking the time to create a list like that amuses me so I took it (but gave credit to the OP) and turned it into a fic rec list for Larries. If you like reading Larry fan fic these are authors you can check out for some good reads. 💙💚

I was in class earlier so I had to look it up first before I could answer this ask.
While I am behind the idea of limiting big larries’ reach by not reblogging their posts, I don’t think a fic boycott list is necessarry. (Also, I’m not completely behind the idea of a Larrie boycott list because people might use this list for the bad).
But I don’t understand what the goal is of the fic boycott list? This will not stop Larries from posting nasty stuff, nor will it limit their reach. Because we’re talking about fictional stories here, who - most of the time - don’t include conspiracy theories. What’s the point of not reading fictional stories? I can see why it may be different if it’s a canon divergent story, but most of them are AU’s.
Besides, whether I like the people who wrote these stories or not, most of the writers on this list are great. And I enjoy their stories very much. I want to encourage this kind of creativity, all the while I hope these people will quit their tinhatting soon.
Also, the goal we are trying to reach is to stop Larries from tinhatting, or to at least limit their reach. To try to achieve this, people have started undertaking action, like calling Larries out, making a larrie boycott list,... But we need to make sure that our actions also actually lead us towards our goal, and that they are not just out of spite. In my opinion, a fic boycott list does not help us achieve our goal.
