||Summoning chaos||
*Waving* Hi dears, Peahen mom here but I wanted to write this silly drabble for my friend. Though, it's a gift for her so I hope she likes it and brings a little laughter to her. <3 So lets see what we are diving into here hmm?
||Drabble summary||
Davion was training Ink for a while now but he's been hearing that she's been working on summoning her great sword, Wyvern though while training, it seems it's not as easy as he thought. What crazy chaos will happen? Read to find out.
||Warning||
~Swearing
~A strong head bonks to a certain blue dragon
~Silly funny moments
||Guests in Drabble||
Van ink along with some of the fractions mentioned belong to @demon-blood-youths
Davion belongs and is from the hit series: DOTA: Dragon's blood but he's also my muse due to me rping as him. Some of the other fractions are also mentioned in this drabble too.
((Note: Their will be grammar mistakes and errors in this drabble as others have this warning. But like I state before, this is written for fun. So I hope you like it and my friend too. Enjoy))
Seems it was another nice day In New York City while it was cool and pretty sunny. Today was pretty nice to just chill and relax...or do some training as well. Davion was standing by or on the side lines while watching his cousin Van Ink the Dragon doing some training under his guidance but he was seeing her wanting to show she might have gotten better in her training.
Both have fought against one another before and leaves a destructive wake. Though it shows not to mess with these dragons! For now, Davion was proud of his cousin.
"Nice job Ink. I see you gotten stronger and more quicker so nicely done." He smiled as Ink Rubs the back of her head from the praise. It was good to know she's doing even better since their last fight.
"Thanks Davion! I wanted to show I've gotten much more stronger! Strong enough to get better and better to do even more!" she smiled that Davion laughed, ruffling her hair.
"I know you can little cousin but remember, training is good but taking it easy is the same. You don't wanna over do it." he said but Ink knew that.
"True but hey! Can we spar again!! I wanna see how strong you got!" she grins that Davion smiled to her.
"You wanna another fight? Sure, lets do it!"
So both dragons move from one another now on opposite sides to fight. He cracked his knuckles ready to go. Ink was excited herself ready to go.
"Alright little cousin, be sure you don't hold back on me you hear?" he said.
"You got it! Lets get ready to-" as she said this, she reaches to her back to stop and blink. Hold on.
"Ah! Wait a second!" she said but Davion blinks.
"Hmm? What's wrong cousin?" he asked seeing her remembering.
"Uhhhh I don't have my greatsword! :3" she said but saw Davion sweatdrop to look. Did she forget it again?
"You forgot it again didn't you?" he said but Ink sweatdrops to laugh.
"Yeahhhhh but I can summon it here. Just a second!" she smiled holding her hand up to the sky.
"Wyvern!!" she calls out loudly while holding her hand up with her eyes closed. Davion looks to her waiting but Ink waves her hand a little to feel nothing. "Wyvern!!!....." Again no response. Ugh, not again.
"Oh come on! WYVERN!!" she shouts out to look seeing no greatsword again.
"Uhhhh Ink?"
"Hold on, It should be showing up! Just a moment!" she said smiling to him but now she was trying again. "Wyvern!! Wyvern!! WYVERN!" she shouts out but only huffs to look annoyed.
"OH COME ON YOU BUTT FACE SWORD!!! WHERE ARE YOOUUUUUU!! GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!!!!" she shouted in the sky still waving her hand furiously annoyed now. Davion blinks to see this.
'Yeahhh, that sword still has a mind of it's own....but I wonder where did she even leave the sword?' Davion thought seeing Ink trying and shouting for her greatsword.
That leaves the question: Where did she leave that sword anyway?
~~~~~Meanwhile on Roosevelt Island in Brooklyn~~~~~~~~
Oblivion was visiting Yuuka and her team today while they were still enjoying some snacks while looking out. "Thanks for visiting again Oblivion, it's sweet that you still come to check on us.." she said but Oblivion nods while looking at the video game they were playing together.
"It's no problem. I still wanna be sure to check on you regardless. But it's good to hear your still alright." she said as Yuuka smiled moving her character while they were playing.
"Even so, thank you. Though, I hope Ink is alright. She left here in a hurry due to her cousin meeting with her." she said but turns her head seeing Wyvern sleeping against the wall. She forgot her greatsword again but it was fine. She thinks?
"Well, I'm sure Ink will come back later but if not, I'll take the sword back for her." Oblivion said as the two kept playing games but as they did, Daniella blinks seeing the greatsword move to make her blink.
"Hey big brother Maxine, the funny greatsword moved again!" she said as this made Luna look.
"Hmm?" Was Ink trying to call it? As the snakes was about to speak, the greatsword springs to life and quickly it shoots out from the ground in a great boom right towards the window where Oblivion and Yuuka was!
"Uhhhh Yuu! Oblivion!! DUCK!!" Luna said as the two look seeing the greatsword rushing towards them.
"Get down!" Oblivion pulls Yuuka down who yelps as the sword smashes through the tv, the window in a loud crash, and the wall showing a hole there. The sword then shoots off quickly in the direction of it's master.
The Dark Eclipse nightshades stood there in shock seeing the hole in their living room but Yuuka and Oblivion sat up slowly to look at the wall. Yuuka was speechless while Oblivion sighed.
"......Uhh.....I'll be sure to let Fosh know so he can help with the damages.." she said.
"Ummmm.....O..okay." Yuu said but she was speechless seeing the sword do that. Now she wonders where it was going!?
~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~~~
"Ink, I don't think you shouting out is going to make it come here faster." Davion said.
"I know it's coming! It better since it always tends to do this!" she said stomping her foot. "Tch, come on Wyvern!!! GET OVER HERE NOW!" she shouted as Davion sighed.
~~~~~With the Elite Demon Anthem from downtown Manhattan/Tribeca~~~~~
"Okay, so we need to work on trying a new idea. Though, are you sure you are doing okay?" Rex, the leader of the season demon warriors visiting again while she was looking at their fractions hanging out.
"Trust me, I'm fine. You always worry so much." she grumbles but Rex sighed to pet her head.
"As your boyfriend I wanna be sure your fine." he said as Kali looks away hiding her blush.
"Yeah, you told me." she said as the two saw their teams training. However, as Kali was about to eat, she heard something.
"Uhhhh..."
"What's wrong?" Rex asked.
"Do you hear something?" she asked looking left and right but before she stood up, Rex sensed something coming down and heard some crashing noise and the shouting of some of their members.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" Fall asked as she ducked or got picked up by Bernard who was wincing hearing something get smashed.
"Isn't that Ink's sword!?" Winter said ducking as it smashes through the hideout.
"MY WORK!! I WAS JUST ABOUT TO FINISH FIXING THAT!" Zed shouted from his area while the others were seeing the destruction.
"GUYS GET DOWN!!" Summer said as the two leaders blink. Wait, did they mean Ink's great sword!? Before long, Rex pulls Kali down as it shoots through above them smashing through the wall of Kali's base as he covers her head from some debris falling now leaving a hole. Both leaders sit up looking in shock but Kali's eye twitched seeing the destruction.
".....Well, that was...weird." Rex said but sensing his girlfriend's anger. "Uhh Kali-"
"IIIIIIIINNNKKKKKKK!!!" she screams.
~~~~~~~~~~With the Upstanders in Flushing Queens~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, I think we are done." Guam heard his teammate agreeing and Champion barking happily. They made some new statue in the middle of the mall seeing others enjoying themselves. Today was good and they got everything done so nothing could ruin that....before he felt some shaking.
"Uhhhhh, do you guys feel something?" Lela said as she and the others felt something heading this way or heard it. Guam looks up but as he did, his eyes widen to shout, "EVERYONE GET DOWN!" he saw his fractions duck seeing Ink's great sword fly through and smash through the wall and through the statue they just finished. He with the others look in shock seeing the destruction and a big hole leaving them speechless.
".........Well, that's one way to turn the day around." Guam said with Lela sighing.
~~~~With the Lupins in Harlem~~~~~~~
"Oh come on Ahmed! You said you were going to at least let us have a go with this. The boys and I can handle this you know." Fin sighed seeing Ahmed look to him.
"I didn't say you couldn't. Though, We are trying to improve some things in order for our fraction to still keep alert of anything. Even if we are all on a day off." he looks to the others who was eating some lunch but Fin could agree.
"Uh huh, and what? You think something might happen even with us being in to relax?" he said.
"Yes!"
"But how though! We haven't had anything happen all day!" Fin said.
"He's got a point." Pierce said while looking to Ahmed. Besides, what could happen? Something just crashing through the wall?!" he said but when Ahmed was about to speak, the boys heard some wooshing noise to look and open the blinds of the living room.
"Uhhhhh, guys? Do you see what I see?" Verin said pointing but the boys squint their eyes something shine.
"Hey, isn't that a sword?" Haliee said. "Though, that looks like Van Ink's sowrd and...is it coming towards us?!?"
This got the wolves to panic before quickly ducking as a great boom was heard seeing the sword smashing through the wall and through the other side leaving two big holes. Fin blinks to see the damage but he sweatdrops.
"......You were saying?" Ahmed said to Pierce who laughed nervous.
"Uhhhh oopsie?" he said but he and Fin got bonked on the head by him.
"OW!"
"What did I do!?"
~~~~~~~With the Knights of Darkness in the Bronx~~~~~~
"T..thanks for helping me Joshua, you guys really are so kind." Joshua rubs the back of his head seeing everything done in Ashley's green house. She and his fractions were hanging out today with the Shallow Butterflies and it was honestly a way to get both the shy butterfly and the knight of darkness to spend time together.
"O..Of course! I wanted to at least spend more time with you since y..you do help me from time to time." He saw her blush again but Ashley shows a gentle smile.
"I..I don't mind. Even so, Thank you.." she said while their fractions finds it cute.
"Awwwww, that's so precious.." Vanessa smiled seeing them happily talking with each other, seeing Hex agreeing.
"True, we figured they would need to spend more time with one another. Since you did say he had a crush on her?" he asked.
"He does but he won't say. Knowing our leader, Joshua is always sweet." she said as the fractions watched their leaders talking like nothing could go wrong. Till..
"Uhh, guys?" Timmy said hearing something.
"What is that?" Angel said but they fractions looks to see Ink's great sword flying through but it was heading right for Ashley's green house! "Uh oh."
"Though, Ashley..I did wanna ask something.." he mutters not knowing about the sword heading towards them.
"H..Huh?"
"Uhhhh w..would y..you...Umm...would you like to.."
"Y..Yes?" she asked but before he could say.
"JOSHUA! ASHLEY! DUCK!!"
"Duck?" the two said before a smash was heard as the greatsword flew through the glasshouse! Joshua and Ashley shield their faces but two hard pots hits them on the head to make them dizzy. The two fractions was in shock but rushes to see.
"Joshua?! Ashley!? You two okay!" Angel said but saw the greenhouse a mess with two knocked out leaders with swirls in their eyes.
"Uhhh..."
"I see pretty little butterflies.." Ashley mutters dizzy with one hand up twitching before it falls. They even got bumps on their heads from the pots smashed by them. Both fractions sweatdrops seeing this.
"....Why do I get the feeling he was gonna ask her out?" Hex asked.
"..I think he was.."
~~~~~~Meanwhile with the Cursed Vixens in Central park~~~~~
"So what are you showing us again?" Vivi asked with Jinx, Breezy, and Ping looking to Echo showing a new invention.
"It's something called a mystery bomb. I been trying to work on this but I can make spears for Navarro to shot out from his Grenade launcher to triple the effects!" she said proud as the three blink.
"Well, knowing you that's possible. Seems you are getting more closer to your boyfriend." Vivi teased that Echo blushed to clear her throat.
"S..shut up! So!? Just like you getting close with that white snake!" she said as the two look at one another but Mouse sighed with Melinda showing some hand made sandwiches for lunch.
"I think it's pretty cool Echo, I'm sure Navarro will agree with you." she said.
"Thanks Melinda! At least she gets it!" she said as the girls sighed.
"Anyway, lets have some lunch. I got some brownies too after we eat." Melinda said as the girls were getting ready to eat with Echo setting her bomb down when hearing something.
"Uhhh girls? Did you hear that?" Mouse asked as the girls looks wondering what that was. Before they could ask, a big boom was heard making the girls seeing something coming through the living room!
"WHAT IS THAT!?" Breezy said.
"THE HELL!?" Echo shouted.
"What just happened?" Melinda asked in shock.
However, the sword went by so fast, it sliced the bomb echo made as the eyes saw it flashing a little.
"E..e..e..echo! The bomb! Your bomb is going to-"
BOOM!!
The cursed vixens screams with smoke showing from their home/hideout but shows a smoke covered living room with the girls twitching and Echo coughing.
"......Echo....no more bombs in the living room.." Vivi said.
"..D..Deal.." she said coughing before the girls fall back to pass out dizzy from the explosion.
~~~~~~~~Finally back with Ink Davion~~~~~~
He saw Ink panting from the shouting and stomping seeing that her greatsword was taking it's long time. "Ink, I think we should wait till you try again." he said patting her back.
"But it always shows up! Maybe I left it somewhere.." She mutters trying to remember.
"I'm sure it's near by Ink." he said trying to calm his cousin down. However, as he was about to stand, he heard a loud woosh noise looking up. Ink knew that noise! She quickly stood up to see......
"Ha! There you are, Wyvern!" she said holding her hand out for it as it came down in a quick fast motion.
"Uhhh Ink, You might wanna duck, it's coming in too-" But it was too late as he saw Wyvern smack Ink right in the face hard and into the ground making it shake. The whole area, even the DBT hideout shook startling the members inside.
"Ink!" Davion rushes over to see his cousin but saw her twitching with swirls in her eyes. Her forehead had a swollen lump there as she was out.
".......Oh boy.."
"INK!" He looks seeing Navarro, Rust, Shdwkyz, Hellmare, Fosh, Maggie, Jaron, Ophelia, Gerald, and Taz coming out seeing what happened.
"......."
"Let me guess; she tried to summon Wyvern again?" Navarro asked seeing Davion nod.
"Yep..."
"And it didn't go well did it?" he adds.
"Nope." Davion sighed seeing the great sword embedded into the ground. "I'm just wondering where she left it. It took a long while to come back to her." he explains.
"Is that so? Well, maybe she left it somewhere when visiting someone." Hellmare said but before she could ask, Fosh got a phone call or a lot of text messages.
"What's wrong Fosh?" Jaron said but he looks to see but his eyes widen.
"......Fosh?"
"Ummmmm...I think I might know.." He said showing the text messages to the others. It was text messages and pictures of the destruction left behind by Wyvern itself!
"What the hell happened!?" Navarro said in shock seeing the pictures from Fosh's phone.
"I have a feeling that explains why it took so long for it to come back. Second, didn't Ink visit Yuuka and her fraction today?" he asked but the others sweatdrop figuring she left it there and..
"Ohhhhhhhhh..." yeah, they get it.
Davion sighs but reaches to take out a booklet. "I'll help pay for the damages." he said but Fosh sweatdrops as he was working on it but he would call Mouse but seeing the vixen's pic, that might become a sorry later. After a few hours, Ink was sleeping but Fosh had to talk to the fractions who was confused to what happened and calm a angry Kali down.
But at least Wyvern was safe. So all is well. I think?

---- Summary ----
After the huge brawl that took place at T Prison cafeteria. Officer Violet goes to investigate what caused Itadori to get violent after some words. Also, Oblivion plans to dive deep into Yuuka's history.
-----
"So that's what happened." Ink said as she is at her office talking to Sai. Which has been so long. When she got the call from him. She can't help but answer him since it felt so long since they talked. She wants to know how he is doing so far.
"I see..."
"Yep. The Yazuka guy, Katana Man breaks into the prison to kill Denji because he killed his grandfather who had him do job of killing demons so they can smuggle the remains. Of course, that old guy died not because of Denji but because he made a bad deal with the zombie Devil. So you know how that is."
"Not surprised that Denji had to do it because of some debt. It's a common unfortunate case for many who had to pay back debt left by their parents.." Said Sai.
"Yeah! And now we had a mini-riot just hours ago." Ink said.
"Is it related?"
"No. Some prisoner messed with the wrong guy and got his teeth pulled and even his tongue out." Ink sighed.
"Fuck!"
"Eh?! Sai? You okay?" Ink said.
"Yeah! That's pretty brutal if you ask me. That prisoner must of done something to piss the other guy off." Sai said.
"Anyway...what's up with you, Sai? How is that bat guy doing?"
"Oh...." Sai sighs, "Okay."
----- Sai's office ----
As he talks, below the desk. He winces as Terry down there is now teasing him below as he feels tongue on his length.
"How is he?"
"On his best behavior of course," Sai managed to say as he goes to push the bat's head with his leg to his groin to get that best feeling in the world. Ever since that night, he can't help himself. Damn him. No doubt, he is going to do it again with him tonight.
"Just some jokes here and there," Sai added. "But overall, okay. He is also getting out on his best behavior. We talked and we came on a deal."
"A deal?" Ink asked.
----
"Yes." Sai answered. "I decided to have him as my CI. I need someone to get information that most officers can't get." He said.
"Huh. I think that's a good idea." She said. Sai wonders if he knows anything about Ryomen Sukuna has something to do with Sai's charge and Rust's. Maybe they did.
"By the way...have you ever of Ryomen Sukuna?"
"Yeah! I do! He's the one who gives us money for repairs. He sounds like a nice guy." Ink smiled. Sai hums, "Well...do you know that he has someone in prison he cares about?"
"Not sure. It wouldn't be surprising."
"I can't get into details for that since someone is taking care of that so I'll talk to you later."
"Right, talk to you later, Sai. It's great to hear from you again. Also, sorry for the late update on that file."
"It's fine. No worries. I know how to handle my prisoner. It's no problem." Sai said, forgiving her. "Next time, have Hellmare handle that, got it?"
"Right!" Ink sweatdropped with a sheepish smile. "Anyway! Talk to you later." She said.
----
"Right, later." Sai smiles before hanging up. Sai hisses a little, "Can you at least wait? Didn't I get you blood earlier?"
"You did. But I need more if I'm going to work for you." Terry bite his hand. Sai sighs and pats. "Fine. Then another night would suffice?'
"Sure."
-------- Roosevelt Island Prison -----
Oblivion was upset on how Yuuka was treated the other night. She can't imagine it. She had to ask an extra shot available in her office. She wonders. She went outside and request a drone from Fosh to deliver that shot to Ophelia.
Today at noon, Oblivion request a different line for Fosh so she can talk to Ophelia in private on the phone after she got a text from Ophelia.
"Hello Oblivion. Thank you for seeing my message."
"No thank you for taking the time on this." Said Oblivion. "So what do we got?"
"I will say this...it's disturbing what they're doing to her. It's messing with her quirk no doubt but there are side effects." Ophelia frowns. "Both mentally and physically. She has a right to react. Messing with someone's quirk can do some longstanding damage to someone that will take time."
"Okay...so what kind of side effects are we talking about?" Oblivion asked.
"It's not pretty so here's what I listed. Right now, I'm thinking of making an alternative that might change the deadly poison to less dangerous poison temporarily. But I know you don't like that." Said Ophelia.
"Please tell me." Oblivion sighed. "I want to help her."
"Very well." Ophelia said as she goes to explain
----- Lower Cell Floor ------
"So I guess you heard the news..." Kali sighs. Rex chuckles, "I was wondering when Sukuna going to make a move. Never thought he would be so generous after the prison break-in."
"Do you think..."
"No. Sukuna isn't that kind of person. In fact, he hates that old geezer who was smuggling devil remains. He also had some artifacts stolen from his collection once and it was sold. He seems elated that old man died and his grandson now off to another prison. After all...he cares about Itadori and that's why he doing this. This way, the enemies of Six Claws will look for them when released or wait...instead of breaking into the prison themselves."
"It doesn't explain the other charges held by Vanguard's officers." Kali said.
"Ah yes. Davion." Said Rex as he continues, "That man is a dragon who is a bounty hunter. Apparently, he ran into a unlucky situation where he got arrested. That man is really strong. Whenever a huge bounty appears, he comes hunting." He said. "Although...his actions garners some police attention since his methods are.....a bit crude." Said Rex. "After all...I seen his work when he comes to black market tracking down his targets."
"And the other one?"
"Ah...Terry the Bat. A pain in the neck. From what I heard, he takes down criminals. You can say that he's anti-hero in those comic books. No doubt, he will have Officer Narong to work with him if their interests align." Said Rex. "Although...these are just guesses. I'm not surprised that both of them are going to be released since they're smart and charming but I am curious why Sukuna has mentioned them for some reason. Maybe...Davion could be used for a hired gun or sorts. As for Terry, not sure though." He shrugs.
"So nothing on Itadori?"
"No. Things are proceeding as planned. It seems like Sukuna wants Six Claws out of the prison so Itadori won't be in danger. It seems fair." He said. "If I had to guess maybe Sukuna wants the Six Claws for something. Only four of the six Claws know Sukuna in the criminal underground." He said.
"And you?" Kali crosses his arms, "I can guess a lot of stuff." "If you guessed that Sukuna wants me out due to business, then yes. You are correct." Rex smiles. "And now, now! In case you're wondering, I do not deal in human trafficking. Just weapons, money, and such. Nothing else."
"How is that any better?"
"Even as criminals, we have standards." Said Rex.
------- Warden Kinie Ger 's Office -----
"So that's how it happened." Warden Kinie Ger informs him of what happened between Iku and Yuji that started the brawl.
"I see. Thank you for informing me. Tell me did Yuji win or what?"
"Actually..he won. If you want to know the details. The man who provoked him lost two of his teeth and a tongue. Forunately, since he's a demon. It will grow back but he won't leaving the infirmary after a week. In fact, Yuji would be out of there when he wakes up. So no need to worry. Yuji is in cell by himself so he can calm down. As for his friends, the same. But they will leave the solitary soon." He said.
"I see. Thank you, Kinie." Said Sukuna.
"Just doing my job. After all, I owe you for the repairs." He said.
"So you explained the situation to them," Ryomen asked.
"Yes. Officer Vanguard took it well as she doesn't mind it." Kinie answered the phone with Ryomen Sukuna. Although...she has no idea how Ink thinks. "As for Officer Vin Shia, she seems apprehensive about this but she will get around as she got her orders."
"Good, good." Ryomen hums.
"Anyway...this date." Kinie Ger said. "What is the time and place?"
"Now, now, now. I can't spoil the surprise, can we? I will have my driver take you." Ryomen chuckles making Kine Ger make a face. "But...if you want. It's the view of the city."
View of the city.
Kinie Ger doesn't like being inside the city but seeing the view. She doesn't mind it. "Okay...is there anything I need to bring?"
"Oh? You want to give me a gift?" He teased. Kinie Ger nods, "Yes. I don't think spending time with you be enough, I wonder if there is anything I should give you. Mind you, I only know how to cook, bring wine or such to make the date enjoyable."
Ryomen laughs. "Wow! I never had a woman who wants to bring something as a kind gesture." He said. "I accept." He said gently. "Anything that surprises me. Though yourself is enough."
Kinie Ger can't help but smirk a little at this. "Very well. Also you said that you're planning on adding another request."
"Yes. It's nothing extreme. All I want you is to make sure Itadori is safe including his friends. After all, he is my prized fighter. And joy of course." Said Sukuna.
"Leave it to me." Said Kinie. "Officer Jinx is good at her job at protecting others."
----- Jinx with Kisho and Megumi ----
"So can you two tell me what happened?" Jinx asked the two. "I asked your friend, Itadori but he doesn't want to say."
"If Itadori doesn't want to talk, then what makes you think we will talk?" Megumi asked her seriously with an emotionless look. Jinx biting her cheek, "Because I want to know."
"Megumi..." Kisho said, unsure as he wanted to tell her. Megumi shakes his head.
"She needs to know...what's the big deal?" Kisho asked with a frown.
"Kisho...." Megumi warns, giving him a look to which Kisho wants to say something but doesn't want to disobey.
"Look. I just want to owe him for helping me out against that Akane and the Snake Devil." Jinx said. "I just want to understand. I know he doesn't throw a punch unless something seriously pisses him off."
"And how do you know?" Megumi said. "Do you know him? Or just know based on his file?" He said, not convinced by this.
"I want to know him. I only know what he likes and what he can do. I even saw what he can do too." Jinx sighed. She recalls the times when Yuji becomes so...primal. "So, please. If I am in charge of protecting him whether he goes to trial or gets released. I need to know so I can make sure nothing happens like that again."
"I mean...if you want to know..."
"Kisho."
"Come on, Megumi! It sounds like Officer Violet cares so why not? It's the guy's fault for starting. We were just minding our business. I mean...Yuji is a type of guy who doesn't like people talking shit including hurting innocent people." He said.
"Huh?" Jinx said.
"You see. That Iku guy was bragging about being in the Demons of Oda." He said. "He says he knows Yuji in the fighting ring and some other shit."
Megumi sighs.'
"Then Yuji isn't interested because that guy's whole plan is to take on Yuji because he's the strongest."
"That's what the other prisoners were saying."
"See? Told you!" Kisho tells Megumi who rolls his eyes but sighs.
"And he says something that if he wins, then Itadori gotta serve him and tell him to bring the girls, the female guards," Kisho said, looking a bit disgusted.
"Then one of the two, Syuuta about a female guard with dark reddish brown and wants to do things to her. That's when Itadori snapped." Megumi added.
Jinx blinks before widening her eyes. Hold on...then....did Itadori do that because he doesn't like how the guys were talking about me? No that can't be right?
"There. Are you happy? Not sure if that's going to change anything." Megumi said. Jinx shakes her head, "No, that's enough thanks. It makes me....glad that Itadori did something like that for no reason."
"Huh?" Megumi blinked.
"Anyway you two can go back to your regular cells." Jinx said. "Thank you very much."
"Hey!" Kisho watches Jinx runs off. "Hey Megumi, do you think...Jinx is going to tell Yuji that she gets it and Yuji won't get in trouble."
"Who knows. It means...we will be in our cells alone till Yuji comes back at the morning." Said Megumi.
"Meaning we will be there in our cell by ourselves," Kisho sigh then he blinked. Hold on...that does mean. Kisho looks nervously at Megumi who chuckles a little. "Itadori will be fine. You're on the other hand..." He looks at him.
"Oh come on, Megumi! I was just trying to help." Kisho pleaded. Megumi ruffles his hair, "I know. But we haven't finished because of that damn break-in. Maybe a reward would be good for you."
"R-right..." Kisho sighed before grinning a little, "Yes...Lord Fushiguro."
Megumi twitched a little, "Little punk...let's get inside!"
"Okay, okay!" Kisho laughs. And so the night continues on as Jinx returns to Yuji's solitary cell. How would this night go.

even with the facing she did, she cannot save Senya with the power she has. The only posibility is Senya returning by his own or something like that. He seems to be trapped in another area, different that the first high rise world of the survival game, and also different than the barren survival world
Yuri and co are thinking of going there it seems, Oribe says its too dangerous, but she thinks it only
Yuri learnt there is a CREATOR of all this realms. Each survival game, and each dimension of survival. Yuri says she needs to stop that person once and for all. Yuri says if that mean is defeated, maybe everyone might come back, from Senyas will, to Nanamis father, though its a possibility. (aka, also Kuon would return, my baby <3)
it seems the creator is IN A REALM CALLED AS ‘ARRIVE’. he said she found it, and what she really must do.
Oribe, seeing Yuri happy, thinks she is a little bit crazy....Also, she says when Senya goes back to normal ‘I will also....’ (ngl,if she confesses to him i would be dissapointed. That would feel forced a bit. sorry. And i like ships (?)
Yuri asks Kuon, who is with her,what about Daisei. Kuon says the battle with Daisei its almost over. Rika succeded in killing his body and Rika, Sniper, Nise,Hayami Shintaro, and Great angel colaborated in reducing the energy of the realm, so Daisei would be consumed aka killed. But he ran away with a little bit of energy
That confirms my theory that when the realm energy gets consumed, if there is a being that was born with that energy (Aka Daisei or Kuon), that entity dies since its made of energy, and the energy was consumd. That explain many people wondered why Yuuka (since Yuri being the admin, and Rika being a non-electible for god God candidate) didn’t keep going with the god trials, not only because there wasnt enough energy only, but also because the energy consumed would mean Kuon’s death.
Kuon asks Yuri if she meets Daisei she will kill him? Yuri says yes. Since Yuri before wanted to be diplomatic with Daisei, but no, fuck diplomacy.
Tenmas was listening all the new info all along, with Asuka on her back. She seems interested with the new realm, info and energy. She wants to be stronger than the original Yuri, so she taunts her saying if she reaches that place, she will finally be able to surpass her. Yuri is puzzled *Choco chuckles*
 Tenma admits she cant surpass her in strenght competition, but with ‘this new little acqueired guy’ she will, as she wants to absorbs his abilities. That ‘little guy’ is no one as Daisei as an eye/cloud. Tenma has seized him. Tenma wonders wht will happen if she has him at her side (well, mostly as kidnapped---).
Daisei’s seems to gone crazy as he is crazily repesting the world ‘equality’ multiple times. his motto for him to be god.
Kuon sees the scene surprised. “Daisei...how pitiful...”
Yuri tells Tenma that her sin was only because of Daiseis program when he created her, and for that, she didnt pursued her. Yuri warns her if she indeed goes away and keeps going and stuff with Daisei, that means Yuri and co will take her down.
Tenma looks at her down, mockingly. Asuka raises her the middle finger
Far from there, Sniper is aiming at them with his rifle, ready to take the shot. In the end, he sighs and mutters “what a bother”, and lowers his rifle. Ttaku is pretty much the japanese “Tch” muttering.
Something that noticed later...I feel Sniper a bit odd. Maybe its just my imagination because I’m not used to see him with no mask but...
Tenma notices Sniper was threatening, her, and she mutters he is scary, so in the meantime she will ran away with her friends (dunno if she only meant Asuka, or she will take Zeon and Juo(rika) with her too)
She says one last thing, in honor to the ‘Originals’, aka they main 5 original crew:
“Thank you....and goodbye, clumsy people.”
As she said the Clumsy people phrase , we see different pannels: Rika watching the horizon, Nise with Mayu (nise’s clone) in her arms, Great Angel also watching the distance and Shintaro Hayami (Prophet) reuniting with Shika Hayami finally.
Tenma ports away. Yuri falls and laughs softly. Saying that indeed, they are clumsy people, not only her, but also her crew, that being because... (She alludes to the fact that maybe they could have done the teleportation to the OG world, but not happening because Yuris powers were unstable (special chapter) and also the fact they would sacrifice Kuon)
Yuri reassures Oribe and Nanami that with time she ‘will deliver them to the OG world, so please rest assured.’
Oribe comments that she is a bit confused since it seems the Original World is also turning to be dangerous, and also that her head hurts.
Oribe says she wont go back yet, she still have many things to do. Yuri smiles softly to her, but a bit sad.
Oribe looks at the distance and asks Yuri about that orbital elevator. She asks her about if Yuri has a way to make that elevator work somehow, of course if it doesn't bother her. Oribe says she is curious if it is truly connected to space
Oribe: “I...I actually like it a lot. The universe...”
With that last phrase, we see the last panel of Senya resting in a bed. He is resting with a smile.
SO, IT IS AN OPEN ENDING. IT SEEMS MAYBE, MAYBE WE MIGHT ALSO HAVE A CONTINUATION OF THIS, SINCE WE ARE FACED WITH THE REALM OF THE CREATOR AND A POSSIBILITY TO STOP FINALLY EVERYTHING ONCE AND FOR ALL.
Besides they need to go back. And also there is the issue if bringing Senya back, alongside with Kuon’s returning to have a physical body. and the slight possibility if the creator is defeated, maybe some things will be solved.
(Yuri says maybe she can bring back Nanami’s dad if she faces the creator, but I’m not entirely sure because Supervisor told us before bringing people back to life was impossible, and the only exceptions being the ones with the Judges “Resurrection.” Even Senya’s state is still unknown. But ther eis a posibiity for Senya to come back.) THATS ALL, EVERYBODY! STAY TUNED IF I KNOW SOMETHING ELSE! for now i will go and write some fanfics and cope with this because holy smokes, i am curious
Also no, no ‘visual’ confirmation about the ships for the ones who likes that. Yes, we know some ships are freaking almost undeniable canon but ANYWAYS
....And I really hope i’m wrong with Sniper. It’s an interesting theme of him seeing a downfall to what has been told since day one in Tenkuu shinpan, that Gods doesn't need to feel and stuff, and Sniper already facing one of the 3 god trials. And knowing Sniper’s key-stuff of his personality is his humanity and how he clings to it so hard... It pains me.
Also he needs a freaking rest for fucks sake. Like, stop, let him be happy for once---
take care <3

Mina-san, bonne lecture~! (Tsuki recaps his feelings about Kamen Rider Saber, a personal essay.)
So, Saber... what a wild ride it's been, huh? Just a quick heads up, this is very long and rambling, and also contains spoilers for everything in Saber. It's fine if you don't wanna read all this, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out there.
TL:DR, Kamen Rider Saber's an undercooked hot mess I absolutely adore, warts and all.
Speaking as objectively as possible, it's a 6/10. Probably closer to a 5 than a 7... it's not great: All the different plot elements are cluttered and weirdly paced; character focus is disjointed and clearly biased toward certain characters, leaving great ones like Kento and Ogami, interesting ones like Kamijo and Hayato, and underdeveloped ones like Sophia and especially the Shindais in the dust; not to mention its balance of comedy and drama is off, and while both are very effective, there's a lot of mood whiplash that can take you out of the story. I also feel like a lot of the easily avoidable character conflict could've been easily resolved, even in universe, by simple conversations. Be careful Fukuda, I think Inoue might sue you if he finds out you've been biting his style and doing it worse.
Rider shows have a very frustrating tendency to drop cool form ideas and not do anything with them, and I don't think it's ever been more the case than with Saber. There's a similar argument to be made with the majority of Heisei Phase 2 after Gaim, but wow. The suits are expensive to make without just straight up recycling everything, I get that, but man, I really wanted to see more Wonder Rider forms. How come Touma got all the fun, eh? Of note are the Blades King of Arthur forms (which look amazing by the way), Espada's Jaaku Dragon forms (one of which I even drew last night), even the non-elemental random Wonder Ride Books all have awesome design elements that go tragically unused. Even if the other Swordsmen just kinda have the ones they do get to use slapped onto them, that's at least something. Touma also just straight up only uses Diago Speedy twice and never again. You have cool props guys, don't waste them like that!
Speaking of waste, Espada, goddamn. Since most of the Wonder Ride Books are Story Type and he needs one very specific Story Book to transform, he doesn't get much of... anything, really! No Wonder Rider forms like Blades, Lamp Do Cerberus being exclusive to Ganbarizing, only getting to use the Ride Gatriker like once, he even spends the second and third arcs as a completely different Rider, then once he comes back he doesn't get a King of Arthur-granted upgrade or even a Necrom Espada form. ...at least, not yet anyway. I'm holding out hope for Espada x Necrom and the eventual Saber V-Cinemas. Extra Rider stans, we will be well respected someday.
The Unreal Engine CGI used for fights in early Chapters was pretty good but wow it feels disconnected and they really drop it quick. I feel like if the animators had more freedom to use as many forms as they want, we'd have gotten a lot more mileage out of the books beyond... decoration basically. I actually really liked the CGI sequences, they felt creative and were fun to follow along with.
The soundtrack is pretty great on its own and conveys what it needs to, but they seriously overplay the orchestral themes. It honestly feels kind of... stock at times. I think my favorite parts of the score are when it winds down, since it feels a lot more natural and lets the cinematographers and actors speak for themselves.
As awesome as I think Falchion's design and the Mumeiken Kyomu are, The Phoenix Swordsman and the Book of Ruin comes up short as its own standalone thing. You'd think 30 or so minutes of non-stop action would be awesome, and it almost is? It's as good as a typical episode of the series with a higher action budget, but it kinda drags on a bit too long; and although I think Emotional Dragon looks cool, it feels a bit tacked on. Coming off of the incredible Zero-One REAL×TIME, it doesn't give you much room to breathe, which Rider films are typically great at handling. I also thought the resolution for the kid's subplot was kinda forced. He does an okay job at acting considering his age and doesn't overstay his welcome, but I really don't see how 20 minutes of violence and action is enough to convince him to be brave enough to go play with the other kids. 5/10, it's closer to a 4 than a 6 and I think that maybe Zero-One should've stood on its own if they really had to push back Kiramager Bee-Bop Dream because of the pandemic.
Alright, with all that said... As imperfect and undercooked Saber was, like Ghost I can consider it a personal favorite, 10/10. Call it a guilty pleasure if you want, but holy hell it's just the show I needed. Takuro Fukuda has a talent for creating fun, wonderful characters and utterly fascinating worldbuilding and concepts. It's a shame he doesn't utilize them fully, but hey!
The action and fight choreography are pretty top notch as usual. Lots of beautiful shot composition and set pieces, and plenty of great angles to help keep up with the extra busy action. I love watching the suit actors perform and they deserve all the respect in the world for their hard work in those hot, sweaty, and heavy costumes. Their visual design is also top notch, with lots of unique and fascinating forms and cool weapons I desperately want to play with despite being broke, all with spectacular finishers and hype jingles with the voice of Akio motherfucking Ohtsuka calling them out. A real feast for the eyes. Not a single bad suit among them, yeah I said it, fight me.
The crossover specials are soooo good too.
-I went over my feelings on the Zenkaiger crossover episodes in a separate post (good luck finding that btw), but to sum it up, they were great character moments for Zox and the Shindai siblings with lots of great screwball comedy and some good old fashioned meta humor.
-The Ghost crossovers are great little side stories all about how Daitenku Temple somehow had the Ghost Ijunroku Wonder Ride Book? I genuinely have no idea why it was there, or how Makoto had the Specter Gekikou Senki, and as far as I remember neither of their origins are explained. Did Luna or Tassel hand them off to them and told them to wait for a sword guy? And why do these generic French Revolution Gamma villains working for Danton get their asses handed to them so easily by Kanon, who literally just became a Rider? I thought that Makoto deciding to adopt all the Kanon clones into his family was both hilarious and adorable though; considering all the crap they went through, I think it was a good ending to this plot. Gimme Espada x Necrom already Toei/Bandai/Fukuda/whoever I need to yell at, give Kento things to do, I beg you.
-I haven't actually seen Super Hero Senki since it's not available for subbing yet, but apparently there's a Journey to the West plot starring the Taros and Ohma Zi-O and I want to see that so badly.
Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra? Yoohei Kawakami? A match made in heaven, that's what they are. All of their themes are absolute bangers. All of them. Almighty, Kamen Rider Saber, Sparks, Taju Rokou, all excellent and empowering pieces. Rewrite the Story, Will Save Us, and The Story Never Ends are all amazing inserts done by the cast, and it makes me wish we had even more of them to help break up the monotony of the score.
The characters are what easily make this show such a great watch though. For the most part, they have great personalities and chemistry, consistently fun and interesting scenes, well acted and... sometimes well-written development, and deeply investing personal stakes.
Narrating it all is the delightfully eccentric Tassel/Viktor, portrayed by Romanesque Ishitobi "TOBI" of the Paris-based Les Romanesques. I was utterly confused by his presence at first, wondering why there needed to be a narrator when the story would've been perfectly fine without it. He even got a special spot in the opening despite having no stake in the plot despite seeming to live in Wonderworld, who the hell is this guy? But then I thought "OH MY GOD, HE'S THE MAIN VILLAIN USING TOUMA AS THE HERO IN HIS OWN TWISTED STORY, THE BASTARD". I thought it'd be some subversion of expectations, true form, "That Was His Mistake!" shit. Trust me, it made a lot more sense in my head. I'm very happy that they didn't do that, as I grew to love having male Yuuka Kazami as my narrator, and when he was shown to be actually important by being friends with Yuri my mind was blown. And doubly so when I realized just how deeply necessary to the plot he really is.
Rintaro/Blades is up there as one of my all time favorite secondary Riders, since his curiosity is always consistently funny and adorable, his forms are all gorgeous and impressively designed, his relationships with Mei and Touma are absolutely sweet and compelling to see unfold, and his arcs about becoming willing to call out those he views as family and coming to terms with his feelings of inadequacy and both moving past and using them to strengthen himself are always great lessons to pass on to kids. ...even if they took like 10 goddamn episodes to be conveyed in what could've been 5, but hey, Takaya Yamaguchi does a stand-up job all throughout. Rider veteran Eitoku's refined, almost logical movements with the Suiseiken Nagare absolutely beautiful to see in action, and his final form having the same white and blue color scheme as Zooous's base form is an amazing touch I don't see appreciated enough.
Mei Sudo's also absolutely wonderful, serving as the perfect emotional core of the story, responsible for most of the funniest lines, sweetest character moments, and some of the most deceptively compelling drama. Asuka Kawazu brings the perfect energy for such a dynamic and well rounded character, and absolutely nails her scenes of quiet turmoil. As much as I would've loved her to become a Rider, I don't think she really needed to. She's already done so much to help, and as cool as it would've been to see her pick up a sword and fight alongside them as Espada, Calibur, or Falchion she's already endeared herself to me as one of my favorite supporting characters in the whole franchise.
I can't get enough of my homeboy Kento Fukamiya/Espada. Like Rintaro and everyone else for that matter, he also suffers from Saber's pacing issues; and like his predecessor Valkyrie from Zero-One, he doesn't get a proper upgrade aside from his Wonder Combo, instead becoming an anti-villain using a completely different powerset and shifting the Raimeiken Ikazuchi out of focus for the Ankokuken Kurayami, and I feel there's a serious missed opportunity to see him use Jaaku Dragon with Alangina. However, Ryo Aoki's performance is probably among the most easily praiseworthy in the whole cast, managing to convey both Kento's kind and knightly stoicism as Espada and his emotionally unstable despair as Calibur perfectly, in conjunction with Yuji Nakata's experienced and expressive stuntwork.
Ren Akamichi/Kenzan's a dark horse favorite for sure. I remember back when Saber was first picking up, people hated this breezy mad lad for being such a simple character at first. Overly concerned with strength? Black and white world view? Annoyingly energetic? Agh, real-feeling character flaws, I hate them, get him away from me! But then y'all came crawling back. Eiji Togashi's apparently a bit of a rookie actor, and it really shows with some stilted delivery and the way he sometimes bobs his head when giving his lines, but man he improves dramatically as the series goes on. His inexperience ironically ends up really selling his character development, and his unexpectedly beautiful relationship with Desast is special evidence of that. The Fuusouken Hayate's three modes and Satoshi Fujita putting them to excellent use through his stellar acrobatic movements are also really cool.
Why did Luna have to be a child for so long? Does Wonderworld not age whoever inherits its power? Well since Luna randomly becomes an adult in Super Hero Senki and some of the final episodes, I guess so? Miku Okamoto does a fine job for a kid actor, but she's basically done all the heavy lifting for the whole series and doesn't give Mayuu Yokota enough time to get a feel for her character as an adult. How did she choose Touma to inherit the power anyway? Does she just subconsciously decide to trust him with it upon seeing how kind and passionate about storytelling he is? Well if that's the case, why didn't Kento get at least some of that power too? He's just as important to the merchan- I mean Luna-chan, isn't he? Why did Tassel pick her over someone who isn't a literal child who'd be understandably terrified about basically becoming an embodiment of storytelling?
Sophia also kinda suffers from the same problems. Rina Chinen's voice is very pleasant to listen to, but she doesn't really do much beyond serving as a source of exposition and support. I think her dynamic with Mei's adorable, and given her kindness I can certainly understand the respect Northern Base has for her, but she doesn't really contribute a whole lot. If she could use the Kurayami and become Calibur all this time, then why didn't she take it from Kento and Yuri and do so earlier when Kento decided to go back to being Espada? I know she's not much of a fighter and as the closet thing the Sword of Logos has to a leader after Isaac's death I'd understand not wanting to put her at risk, but considering Storious is destroying the world, and she's very evidently kicking a lot of ass in the first part of the final battle even in the basic Jaaku Dragon form, I think it would've helped a lot, just sayin'. Tassel at least has the excuse of being unable to interact with the real world, but Sophia obviously didn't just be put in charge of Northern Base just because she's a pawn in Isaac's plans right?
Ryou Ogami/Buster is also a victim of the disjointed character focus. I have no problem believing he's an excellent father and fighter thanks to Yuki Ikushima and Jiro Okamoto, respectively, but he feels a bit flat and simple in comparison. His rivalry with Desast is randomly dropped, his wife doesn't even show up until the final episodes, he's kinda sidelined in terms of action a whole lot. I imagine that must've sucked for the Rider Dads out there. He does get to star in his own manga, and that was pretty good, so I guess I can't be too mad.
Tetsuo Daishinji/Slash fares better though. Hiroaki Oka, being a Kamen Rider fanboy himself, manages to make him among the most relatable characters in the series. Not only are his hyperfixation on swordsmithing and anxiety played surprisingly believably, Hirotsugu Mori letting him cut loose is extremely cathartic and hilarious, and you really feel for him when the Onjuuken Suzune becomes the first victim of Calibur!Kento's sword sealing.
Yuri/Saikou's another dark horse favorite, for me at least. "Oh great, Avalon guy's got even more merchandise to sell, I wonder what his Sword of Light is- it's himself. Well... that's different." I admit, I didn't like him at first. He felt like he was there to fill out character dynamics in the absence of both Rintaro and Kento, I thought his gimmick was too silly even if his design and jingles were bangers, I didn't particularly care for his power set. But then XSwordman came around I totally got it. He's an endearing, hard-working man trying his best to catch up on all the cool shit he missed, unafraid of experimentation, ready to throw down at a moment's notice, serving as a wonderful bit of consistent support for our heroes, a truly knightly individual, an absolute Chad. and goddamn does he make me worry. Tomohiro Ichikawa, I salute you good sir.
Even if they fall short compared to the rest of the cast, the Shindai siblings are at least cool enough to not wanna write out entirely. They kinda devolve into comic relief after they become allies, something that villainous Riders from Chase onwards are very prone to doing, and it's especially awkward in their case because I think that they kinda get off scot-free for obeying the obviously sinister and crazy Isaac for so long, as well as driving a wedge between a lot of people and threatening children in Reika's case. I think their sibling dynamic is nice though, even if Fukuda recycled it from Makoto and Kanon and has some... questionable possessive undertones as a result. It's cool how they're basically foils to Touma and Rintaro though. The dispassionate and methodical Reika/Sabela is beautifully played by Angela Mei and her moments of emotional depth are fascinating to watch. Her Rider form is a thing of beauty, and its use of literal the Eneiken Noroshi's smokescreens and Yuki Miyazawa's precise and deadly stinging strikes are a joy to watch. And while Ken Shonozaki's not given the best direction as the undercooked plate of 7-Eleven fried fish that is Ryoga/Durendal, he manages to sell him as an experienced and hardened warrior with an awkward side that's especially evident in the Zenkaiger specials. His goddamn RWBY weapon that is the Jikokuken Kaiji is absolutely sick, I'm a sucker for transforming weapons and its combination of time and water powers is really cool, especially with Yasuhiko Amai's deliberate and forceful acting in the suit.
Daichi Kamijo/the Second Calibur, for as brief as his story was, was a pretty cool starter villain. Hiroyuki Hirayama brings this poor bastard to life in a genuinely touching way. I love how as Calibur he goes full force on his creative use of Wonder Ride Books for attacks, and his debut as Jaou Dragon got my blood pumping. His end is also deeply tragic, and I really felt for him when he realized just how badly he fucked up. Hayato Fukamiya also does wonders for the backstory, and while he also doesn't get much to work with, Mitsuru Karahashi makes his regrets and love for Kento feel genuine.
Legeiel and Zooous are both very intimidating and entertaining villains. On top of being just the right balance of goofy and threatening, Kairu Takano and Koji Saikawa's stage presences are both very strong, and their mixture of camaraderie and in-fighting is extremely believable. Zooous's rivalry with Rintaro feels incredible to see through to the end, and although Legeiel doesn't get quite the same treatment, Elemental Dragon had such a cool debut that it more than makes up for it. Their final fights are also absolute spectacles. I don't think their sympathetic angle works even close to as well as it does with MetsubouJinrai or even the Gamma, but I get it, power corrupts, and you probably feel a lot of sadness and regret for things you've done when you die unless you're a right bastard.
Isaac/Master Logos/Solomon is kinda generic. As wonderful as Keisuke Soma is, he doesn't get much dimension to work with. The result of that is while he nails being as smug and punchable as possible, he feels almost... comically generic. Genta Umemori from Shinkenger was full of personality! He was also basically some guy, but he was fun, he felt connected to the rest of the cast! Meanwhile the only real time we get to see Isaac's depth is when we see him crying over his failures. I almost appreciate him being unapologetically evil though, since I've seen way too many shows where redeemed villains get off scot free for way worse things, and some where they outright demand you to sympathize with them despite them doing nothing to warrant it.
Bahato/Falchion surprises me by not just being a movie villain whose actions affect the main plot, but also being a movie villain who actually gets to appear in series as a recurring threat! ...and it's not a particularly great showing on his part, sadly. Masashi Taniguchi does a wonderful job with what he's given, but his character feels like a retread of Eternal without any of what made Katsumi Daido a compelling and frightening villain. I'd like to believe Yuri when he says that he used to be a good person and a hero to the people, but I can only hear so many anime villain monologues about the pointlessness of life and the beauty of destruction before I can never take them seriously again. ...I think that's his biggest problem, actually. I thought he was an overall uninteresting and generic villain in the movie, and the cartoon nihilist he's shown to be in series is only a small step up. He still feels like filler. If only there were a far better written and much cooler villain who takes on the Mumeiken Kyomu after his de--
Desast is probably one of the finest anti-villains I've ever seen in recent years. On top of an absolutely badass character design and the excellent combination of Kazuya Okada/Danki Sakae's suit work and Koki Uchiyama's stellar voice acting, his story being so thoroughly intertwined with Ren's makes their shared journey and bromance a borderline Shakespearean tragedy. His struggle for identity despite Storious treating him as nothing more than a failed experiment and the Sword of Logos treating him as a mere monster really gripped me, and the way he uses what little time he has left to encourage Ren into blossoming on his own is absolutely beautiful. I think his enmity with Ogami is criminally underexplored in series, considering he killed several of the previous Riders and how Ogami's in desperate need of screentime.
Then there's our main villain, Kamen Rider Storious. Robin Furuya brings an incredible amount of charisma to this character, expertly portrayed as both a sinister, manipulative bastard , and as a lonely, tragic figure that arguably makes him feel even more villainous. Speaking as a struggling writer myself, it's easy to feel stuck in the idea of "fuck it, who cares, maybe everything is predestined", but I can't imagine what it's like to know that as the truth and carry it with you for all that time. All of your grand ideas have roots from your experiences, and you're not the only one who even could have those experiences. It's easy to just fall into despair and give up trying, but would that make you happy? Sure, Storious is sadistic, he may be fulfilling his goals, he may be ungodly powerful... but it's not enough for him, is it? All of his friends are gone, one of them even at his own hand, he probably doesn't have any idea what to do after he destroys all the world's stories, Touma even reached his full power before he did, and his downfall is so predictable that even a blind person could see it. He even seems to welcome it, what's up with that? But then I realized... OH MY GOD, HE'S THE MAIN VILLAIN USING TOUMA AS THE HERO IN HIS OWN TWISTED STORY, THE BASTARD. He's so far gone, he's so desperate to stick it to the Almighty Book, he's willing to twist the archetype of the Hero's Journey so hard, it snaps in two. What I think is interesting is that he's ironically trying to chase the trend of "edgy superhero story" that became super popular in the 21st century. The Boys, Brightburn, Kamen Rider Amazons, The Sentry, No More Heroes, Magical Girl Site, even mainstream comics from DC and Marvel... Surely Storious must've seen the cruelty and tragedy these stories are filled with, but he chooses to go through with trying to force the world into this direction anyway. Did they, along with seeing the ever-popular tragedies of legendary playwrights and bleak satire of the twentieth century fuel his despair?
And yet... there's one who stands in determination against his ideals.
Our hero, Touma Kamiyama, the titular Kamen Rider portrayed by Syuichiro Naito and Kousuke Asai, he speaks to me on a personal level. There're plenty of jokes to be made about his procrastination in early chapters, his godless fashion sense, and him doing the funny run up the slope, that's all fine and dandy, but I rarely feel so connected to a character the way I did Touma. The struggle to create, find companionship, live your life, reach out to others... these're things a lot of people struggle with, and of course you see them depicted a lot in media about creators, but Saber gets to the root of what the greatest thing about storytelling really is. Giving people hope, while using the pain of the past as fuel for the future. Sure, Storious may be right about how every story has been done as far back as human civilization gets, he may even be right about how any spin or creativity humanity has is outright predestined. It should be pointless to even try, right? That's where Touma Kamiyama disagrees. He didn't spend all that time fighting and creating just to give up at the idea of predestination. His novel writing-fueled creativity in his early training, his devotion to his friends that let him surpass Kamijo as Dragonic Knight, his compassion for the Primitive Dragon that let him combine their powers to destroy Legeiel as Elemental Dragon, his resolve that let Xross Saber dethrone Solomon, and his passion for the craft of storytelling that let our heroes channel their wishes into Wonder Almighty... all stemming from the belief imparted onto him by his predecessor that "Hope lies beyond your resolution." And that you decide how your story ends. He may not be the greatest Rider to some, he may be as lame as others think he is, he may not even be my favorite, but I have no issue calling Touma Kamiyama... Kamen Rider Saber, one of the all time greatest carriers of the Kamen Rider name.
The final chapter's definitely not as great as some other Rider finales, but goddamn. Primitive Dragon consciously choosing to save Touma is so sweet and such a great emotional payoff, I loved jamming out to the opening theme while our boys lay the smackdown on Storious. Wonder Almighty's a fitting final bit to close the main series out with, if not exactly a great one. I think the cover is great, and the book's body is a lovely shade of candy apple red, but I really don't like how its pages are just the covers of the other books copy-pasted onto onto the pages, that feels lazy. Maybe if it were a panorama of all the books' characters, I'd like it a lot more as a symbol of how unified the Swordsmen are, but eh, what can you do? On a related note, does this mean all the "last episode extra final forms" of the Reiwa Era are gonna be named after their series's opening? That's a neat idea.
I felt a lot of feelings seeing all those video messages of Rider fans all across Japan talking about their favorite stories, and how their passion and fond memories help reshape the world. Mei's monologue at the ceremony about is also really touching and- IS THAT A HUMAGEAR!? :O
Y-yeah dude, it is! Wow, where have you guys been for the past 48 episodes?! Are you guys doing okay? How come you're like... the only one here? Is the technology of Hiden Intelligence only really that prevalent in that very specific metropolitan part of Japan and they're just not coming around much over here? Is it like Dragon Ball where anthropomorphic animals are just vibin' with humans while the heroes are off kicking ass? Apparently he's played by Hasegawa Keiichi, who wrote this episode and had the award ceremony named after him. ...is Hasegawa Keiichi a HumaGear in this universe then? Did he set up this award ceremony in Touma's honor? If so, why is it named after him? Did reading one of Touma's books lead to his Singularity? I know this is just a cameo, but... god, I have so many questions that probably will never be satisfactorily answered.
Overall, if I had to compare Saber to anything, it'd probably be Sam Reimi's Spider-Man trilogy. It's awkward, stupid, overwrought, undercooked, illogically written, scattershot, cheesy as fuck, and has a tendency to squander its otherwise fine execution; but the sheer passion for storytelling, sense of spectacle, deeply fascinating characters, and belief in the ideals set forth by the cast, crew, and fans are absolutely admirable. Improvements would certainly make it an overall better experience, to be sure, but there's something deeply captivating about how wonky this series is. Seeing everybody get their happy ending after all they've been through felt extremely gratifying though, and I may have to wait another for the epilogue to and then wait for Revice, but... man. I'm hella proud of our awkwardly-emoting, fashion disaster novelist and all of his heavily flawed friends for carrying the Kamen Rider name on to the future. Here's hoping Revice will keep it going.
Alright, that's everything I wanted to talk about. Sorry this was so long and ramble-y, I had a lot to say. I'll probably be liveblogging Revice as episodes of that come out, so... look forward to that, I guess. See ya.

LoT1 Final: Character Usage and Final Builds
Tumblr media
tl;dr: I talk final impressions of the Post-Game, I talk about characters and builds, and I think of ideas for future runs
= = =
Final Thoughts on the Post-Game
The grind fest that is Labyrinth of Touhou’s Post-Game has finally come to an end. Final clear time was at least 141 hours (I don’t think the in-game timer tracks failed boss attempts). The main-game was completed at 64 hours. I reached 30F at 110 hours. Completed 30F at 141 hours (but as I said previously, 30 hours to be prepared for 30F is way too much).
My main impression of the Post-Game is that Floors 21 to 25 are really fun, bc of the constant rate of new content and because of the open-endedness with the bosses (you can choose to fight Utsuho, Yuuka and Eiki in any order you want). The floors after that aren’t as compelling. Floors 26 to 29 are a blur. And Floor 30 is just so grindy and not interesting. 30F really needed some new content besides the final final bosses (and no, the ‘randomly encountering’ V3 bosses doe not count as new content). I still enjoyed the Post-Game, especially since I got to see the full potential of some characters like Reimu, but I can’t say I enjoyed all of the extra content.
Anyway, it only took 6 years of on and off playing, but I’ve finally finished Labyrinth of Touhou! God, I can’t believe it’s been that long.
= = =
Character Usage
Here are the characters I did (and didn’t use) in Labyrinth of Touhou 1.
Reimu, Meiling and Marisa were my mainstays. Ran and Yukari also never really left that ‘core circle’ once I unlocked them too, though Ran and especially Yukari, come really late into the main game.
I actually think of myself as having two distinct parties: the main campaign / main-game party and the post-game party
The main-game party was Chen, Komachi, Yuugi, Suika, Nitori, Eirin and Tenshi. I relied a lot on Komachi / Yuugi for the main game (my strategy for them was debuffing / status inflicting tanks aka my “toxic tanks”).
The post-game party was Mystia, Eiki, Aya, Minoriko, Flandre and Sanae. Tenshi got dropped super hard (due to all the bosses with piercing attacks) and the toxic tanks (Komachi and Yuugi) got dropped due to all the bosses with immunity. The rest of the main-game party was replaced (Mystia > Chen, Eiki > Nitori, Sanae / Minoriko > Eirin etc.)
The characters I used the least overall were Sakuya, Cirno, Rumia, Wriggle, Iku, Alice, Reisen, Yuyuko, Rinnosuke, Utsuho, Maribel and Yuuka, with quick mention to my MND-build Patchouli (who had the Tenshi Problem x100), Suwako and Sakuya (who I forgot, remembered existed, used for five bosses during the endgame of the campaign / early parts of the post-game, and then forgot about again) and Youmu (who I used against WINNER for no particular reason)
I think I could probably run a NG+ part with that list of “least used characters”
= = =
Quick Thoughts on Newcomers:
Really Useful: Eiki, Mystia. Eiki ended up being “Flandre but slower but also 100 times safer”. Mystia basically ended up making a lot of other characters obsolete (like Chen and Cirno). Just focus on ATK for both.
Useful: Keine, Kanako. I discovered Keine’s tanking potential really, really late, but she’s great once you do notice it. Kanako was great, it’s a shame there’s not many bosses weak to CLD in the Post-Game. Focus on DEF for her.
Eh...: Utsuho. I thought she’d be great because Chen’s pretty great, but I forgot the part where “Chen is too fast for her self-inflicted debuff to be a problem” while Utsuho isn’t.
Did Not Use: I didn’t bother using Yuuka or Maribel. They had the problem of “I don’t really want to use them when X exists” (though in Yuuka’s case, it was entirely my own fault since I specifically went out of my way to make her a Marisa copy).
Honestly Kinda Gamebreaking: Renko. Seriously, her PAR ability is insane. I don’t see myself coming back to her for a NG+ run because she honestly feels like I’m cheating. I focused on SPD for her.
= = =
Final Stats
Before I forget forever, here’s how I built up most of the characters in terms of skill point bonuses. This is more for my own, future reference than anything.
Reimu: HP / SP / MAG / MND
Marisa: SP / MAG
Remilia: HP / DEF / MND
Sakuya: HP, SP, SPD, DEF, MND
Patchouli: MAG, MND
Meiling: HP, DEF, MND
Chen: ATK, SPD
Cirno: ATK, MAG for Main-Game, SPD then ATK for Post-Game
Minoriko: ??? then pure MND
Youmu: HP, DEF, MND and then ATK only
Rumia: MAG and MND, then SPD only, then MAG only
Alice: MAG and MND, then MAG and SPD
Wriggle: Balanced DEF / MND with leftovers put into HP
Aya: ATK, SPD
Iku: MAG, MND for Main-Game, pure MND for Post-Game
Yuugi: HP, DEF, MND
Komachi: HP and ATK
Suwako: ATK and MAG, then ATK only
Sanae: MAG and MND, then MND and SPD
Nitori: HP and DEF, then ATK only
Tenshi: Balanced DEF and MND, bonus to HP, then HP only
Eirin: Balanced DEF and MND, bonus to HP
Reisen: MAG and MND, then MAG only
Ran: HP / SP / DEF / MND
Orin: DEF and MND, then SPD, then ATK only
Mokou: DEF and MND, then MAG only
Flandre: ATK only
Suika: HP / ATK / DEF / MND, then MND only
Yuyuko: MAG and MND, then MND only
Kaguya: MAG and MND, with a slant towards MND
Rinnosuke: ATK, then balanced DEF / MND with bonus to HP
Yukari: HP / SP / DEF / MND
Maribel: MAG only
Renko: SPD only
Utsuho: MAG only
Kanako: Mixed ATK / HP build
Mystia: ATK only
Keine: DEF only
Yuuka: MAG only
Eiki: ATK only
The bolded bits are builds that I think, or have heard, work really well
My Advice (To Myself):
Commit to a defensive build for Eirin and Wriggle. Don’t bother with the mixed DEF / MND, leave that balanced defense stuff to Tenshi and Rinnosuke. Do like, pure MND Eirin or pure DEF Wriggle instead
SPD Build Cirno isn’t bad, though in the post-game they are obsolete by Mystia and her superior SPD, ATK and skills. I think SPD Build Cirno could be good for Main Game though...
Similar to above, I think pure MND build Patchy is good for the Main Game, though you’d need to switch stat build after hitting Post-Game
And again with Tenshi. Balanced DEF / MND is good in Main Game, but Tenshi probably needs to commit to DEF or MND (or maybe HP) once you hit the Post-Game.
Commit to balanced DEF / MND Rinnosuke earlier (I tried to make him an attacker early on, for some inexplicable reason).
Need to experiment with Suika, Yuyuko and Iku. I feel like my horribly inconsistent statting of them is what caused me not to use them. Also, don’t ever do pure MND Yuyuko again.
Apparently, pure ATK Sakuya is really solid
= = =
And uh yeah, that’s it. Done with Labyrinth of Touhou 1. I’m really looking forward to seeing how Labyrinth of Touhou 2 improves on things.

Tenshi’s Pretty Nice - Ch. 1
Fandom: Touhou Characters: Hinanawi Tenshi, Kazami Yuuka Relationships: Platonic YuukaTenshi Rating: Teen and up Word Count: 2,506 Summary: Yuuka Kazami gets a visit from some delinquent celestial. Surprisingly enough, things don't go too horribly between them.
This is the first and currently only chapter, which will be added onto at my own leisure. Ships are currently undecided, but things will get gay in future chapters. Most likely.
Read on Ao3! (recommended; my current blog theme isn’t great for fic reading)
“You, with the watering can! You’re Kazami Yuuka, right?”
“...And who is asking, exactly?” The youkai who was indeed named Kazami Yuuka raised an eyebrow as she looked from her garden to… well, she wasn’t really sure what she was looking at here. A girl with a glowing sword standing on a giant floating rock? Kids sure were getting weird, nowadays…
“Oh, me? Hinanawi Tenshi, of course! I’m sure you’ve heard of me.”
She seemed self-important, didn’t she. The name did ring a bell, though. “Yes, I believe I have. What was it they said about you? Right, a ‘useless celestial who only caused trouble’. Those were the Hakurei’s words, mind you.”
“E-- Eh? Wait, she said that about me?” The loud girl suddenly became quiet, giving a small yet pitiful frown that made even Yuuka somewhat uncomfortable. After the first impression she’d just been given, she didn’t expect that kind of reaction.
“...Anyways, why are you here? It seemed like you needed me for something.”
“O-Oh! Yeah! I wanted to challenge you, Kazami Yuuka, to a duel!” Apparently trying to pretend the previous bit of the conversation just didn’t happen, she flipped her hair behind her shoulder and grinned at Yuuka. “There’s so many lowly plebs here on the surface that it’s been so hard finding a decent challenge around here. I hear you’re not bad with danmaku, yeah? I wanna see if you’re close to my skill level.”
“Is that so.” Yuuka gave it some thought, eyeing the rock floating dangerously close to her garden. “Let me finish watering everything, and I suppose I could indulge you. As long as you behave.”
“I gotta wait? How annoying…”
Yuuka shrugged and continued with her watering. Of course, she had to keep an eye on Tenshi, but she didn’t seem in too much of a rush despite her complaint. “Patience is a virtue. As I’m sure you know already.”
“Yeah, yeah. You know, I could totally get everything here and in the field watered really fast. I can summon rain, you know? Although only as a thunderstorm.”
“Are we going to duel in the middle of a storm, then? That doesn’t sound very pleasant.”
“That’s… not what I was going for, but that sounds really fun, actually.”
“I’d rather not. Just wait, alright?”
Yuuka saw Tenshi shrug out of the corner of her eye, muttering “maybe another time” as the conversation trailed off. The rest of the plant-watering went smoothly, Tenshi simply sitting and watching. By the time she’d finished and exchanged the watering can for her usual parasol, Yuuka could tell that Tenshi was getting rather antsy.
“Right, then. If you’d come with me?” She led Tenshi off to a nearby open area where fighting would be much less likely to damage any flowers or the like, then turned and gave her a smile. “You were much more behaved than I expected, considering your apparent reputation. I’ve got plenty of time now, so I can play as much as you’d like… though I can’t promise I’ll be exactly what you’re expecting from me.”
“Pssh. I’m only a troublemaker when I want to cause trouble,” Tenshi stated smugly. Yuuka wasn’t so sure, but she wouldn’t argue the point. “Y’know, somehow, I get the feeling you’re looking at me like I’m just some kid that wants to play. That’s fine, though~ Just means this is an opportunity to teach you just how strong a noble celestial such as myself can be. Now then, come at me and don’t hold back!”
Yuuka kneeled down in front of the fallen celestial, Tenshi staring past her into the sky. Along with that, she had a satisfied smile on her face, seeming a lot more relaxed than she had been since approaching Yuuka in the first place. “So? Are you finished?”
“Yeah, I don’t think I can move anymore. My whole body hurts!”
“You say that with such a smile on your face. Are you some sort of masochist?”
“Mas what? What’s that?”
...Ah. Yuuka had been intending to tease Tenshi a little, but the genuine confusion in Tenshi’s voice caught her off-guard. “Don’t worry about it. I must compliment you, though; you lasted much longer than most I’ve dueled with.”
“Mm.” Tenshi took her eyes away from the clouds in the sky to meet Yuuka’s eyes. “Celestials have much stronger bodies than most mortals. I’d like to think I’m particularly tough among us, so my body can take lots of abuse!”
Frowning, Yuuka brought her hands down underneath Tenshi’s arms and lifted her up into a sitting position. “Don’t say that so proudly. Your fighting technique, while not unimpressive, is still very much lacking the finesse I would expect of a celestial, and you’re rather predictable, at that. Not to mention reckless.”
“Whadd’ya mean reckless?”
“What kind of spell card battle involves people hurling rocks around like that? Your nose is bleeding from when you accidentally hit yourself in the face with one.”
“O-Okay, fair point. Is it really?” Tenshi reached up and wipe a bit of blood from her face and onto her hand to see. “Oh. It is. Whoops…”
At that moment, a very unsubtle growling sound came from Tenshi’s stomach, loud enough for the both of them to hear.
“...Come on.” Yuuka giggled at the light blush tinting Tenshi’s cheeks, then took Tenshi’s non-bloodied hand and helped her up. “Let me take you inside and get you fixed up. If you’d like, you can stay for dinner as well.”
“Uh… S-- Sure? Yeah, that’d be nice…”
Yuuka brought a dazed Tenshi into her house, the walk not being long since they’d met just outside of it to begin with. She left Tenshi for a moment to grab some bandages and things, and she got to work patching Tenshi up as soon as she returned.
“...You know, you’re a lot different than I expected you to be,” Tenshi admitted as Yuuka treated one of the two whole knees that she’d skinned in the fight. “Most of the people I asked said you were dangerous and that I shouldn’t go looking for you. I expected someone more scary, I guess?”
“Are you disappointed?”
“N-- No, nothing like that. Just, uh… Geez, I dunno. I don’t know why I brought it up…”
“Well, it’s true that a lot of people think those things about me. I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re far off, exactly.”
“What do you mean?”
Yuuka smirked and leaned in, whispering into Tenshi’s ear, “How naive… I’ve gotten you defenseless and at my mercy, haven’t I? And you came into my house without questioning a thing.”
“E-- Eh?” She noticed Tenshi tense, and she pulled back away to look at her. Her face had reddened slightly, and it was rather clear that she was at a loss for words.
“Too easy,” Yuuka said simply, giving Tenshi a pat on the head. “Relax. I’m kidding.”
Tenshi still seemed unsure what to say, but she was at least relieved, letting out a small sigh. How cute… not to mention easy to read.
“...Or am I?” At the startled look on the other’s face, Yuuka chuckled.
“Wha-- H-Hey, not funny! Besides, you think I’d be scared of you? No way!”
“Let’s not forget just how beaten-up you are right now. And I came out completely unscathed.”
“Th-That’s not true…” Yuuka could see Tenshi desperately looking over her form for any injuries. She waited for Tenshi to do so until her wrist was unexpectedly grabbed. “Right, here! You’re bleeding, see?”
“What?” Yuuka, rather confused, looked down at her arm and didn’t at all see what Tenshi was trying to point out. “And where, exactly, might this blood be…?”
“Er, I guess it is kinda dried up by now, and it’d be hard to see…” Leaning over a bit, Tenshi reached to the back of her upper arm and pressed down on a specific spot-- not quite a cut, but likely a pretty bad scrape, causing sudden pain and a small grunt from Yuuka.
Of course, she wouldn’t just admit that it hurt, so she kept a straight face as she replied, “Oh. I didn’t notice.” She hadn’t, and it didn’t even hurt very much now, either. She’d just been startled.
“Seriously? I bet you’re just trying to act tough… Gimme that.” She took the bandage roll from Yuuka. “Now turn around and take your shirt off.”
“That’s… not really necessary… Do you even know what you’re doing with that?”
“Duh, it’s not that hard. Now c’mon. You did me, so lemme do you.”
Yuuka sighed, then turned away from Tenshi and removed her shirt. She did sort of want to see the damage done to the article of clothing, anyways, and how much of a pain it would be to fix up. Gah, bloodstains… With that, Tenshi began to wrap up her wound pretty much immediately.
...She really didn’t know what she was doing, huh. Well, whatever. It wasn’t very comfortable, but Yuuka would just let her do whatever, for now. Later, she’d have to show her how to properly treat wounds, though, if this girl was going to get into fights as frequently as it seemed.
Soon enough, she was shoddily bandaged up and Tenshi chuckled, patting Yuuka’s arm carelessly. She was lucky Yuuka was so tolerant to pain… “There we go, good as new!”
“Right… Do you have any preferences for dinner?”
“Uhh… I dunno, not really. Just no peaches! I’ve decided that I won’t be eating peaches while I’m on the surface.”
“...Hm?” Yuuka raised an eyebrow, turning back to Tenshi with a dubious expression. “Didn’t... you eat a peach during our duel? Not to mention another one seems to have grown in its place on your hat...”
“Ah, no, that’s different. That was a heaven peach, and it was a part of my spell card. It’s a body toughening-type thing. But all heaven really has is peaches, so I want to try a lot of different foods while I’m here. I’ve basically forgotten what most things taste like, since it’s all been drowned out by peaches and sake.”
“Well, alright, that’s doable. Just don’t expect anything incredibly exotic… I’ll get started on cooking now, alright? You can wait here. Walking around the house is fine, just don’t snoop or take anything...”
Tenshi hummed in acknowledgement, and Yuuka left to make dinner. What exactly to make, though…?
Well, no reason to do anything over-the-top. Something simple should be fine, since it didn’t seem like Tenshi had eaten many different sorts of foods to begin with. Would something like pork or chicken be fine?
...Was meat fine for celestials to eat? Maybe she should have asked earlier. Although- if sake was fine, meat probably was too.
Midway through the cooking, Tenshi wandered into the kitchen. She leaned over some counter space Yuuka wasn’t using and watched her for a moment before speaking up.
“I got bored waiting, so can I help?”
“Not really,” Yuuka replied without hesitation. Maybe a little hastily-- Tenshi frowned, looking rather offended at being shot down so quickly. “I’ve already done most of what I could be helped with, I mean. Besides, I doubt you have much experience with this sort of thing.”
“...Meh, can’t argue that, I guess.”
“If you really want something to do, you could set the table…” She gestured towards the dining table. “Make sure it’s clean, though. I don’t use it a lot, so it collects dust sometimes…”
“Got iiiiit,” Tenshi replied, sounding very unenthusiastic for someone who was asking to help out in the first place. With a few minor instructions on where things are and where things should be set, dinner was soon made and served, both Yuuka and Tenshi taking seats adjacent to each other.
“Whoah, this really smells nice. Is this some kind of meat?” Tenshi asked, poking at her food with her chopsticks.
“It’s pork, yes. Is that fine?”
Tenshi quickly nodded. “Yeah, for sure. I haven’t eaten meat in like, forever. I just uh, expected you to be some kind of vegetarian, I guess, somehow.” Yuuka shrugged. Was it just because of the green…? She was a youkai, after all, and vegetarian youkai weren’t exactly common. “Well anyways, thanks a bunch--” With that, she dug in. After confirming that Tenshi wasn’t going to get carried away and choke on anything, Yuuka began to eat as well.
It was a nice dinner. Small talk occasionally cropped up, most instances of such initiated by Tenshi, but it was probably the quietest she’d been since she suddenly appeared to Yuuka earlier. Of course, that was only because her mouth was busy getting stuffed with food…
Her food finished and Tenshi’s long gone, Yuuka stood and took the dishes off of the table and to the sink to wash them.
“Oh yeah, Yuuka?”
“Mm?”
“You never told me what a masochist was.”
“...I didn’t.”
“Well, I still wanna know. Tell me.”
Yuuka rolled her eyes. What weird timing, as well… “Ask one of your other friends. I’m sure they would explain it better than myself,” she replied, not wanting to deal with this. Besides, it would be pretty funny if she actually did do that…
“Yeah? Well, alright… It wasn’t some kinda insult, right?”
“Are you worried about that?”
“W-Well--” Tenshi let out a huff, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair. “Not worried. Just wondering.”
“Hmhm. It’s not an insult.”
Tenshi had a skeptical look as she peered over at Yuuka. “...If you say so. But if I hear it is, I’m gonna come back here and kick your ass.”
“Mhm, mhm. I’m sure you will.”
“...” Tenshi went quiet after that for quite some time, and just when Yuuka had finished up the dishes and was wondering when Tenshi was going to be leaving, she stood from her seat. “Well, I can probably go home now… Or rather, should, I guess. It’s getting pretty late.”
“Indeed.” Yuuka found herself wondering exactly whether it was fine for someone like Tenshi to just be hanging around on Earth with no supervision, but she figured it wasn’t worth questioning. Besides, despite her “delinquent” reputation, she was well-behaved at Yuuka’s home, and that’s all she really cared about. “You’ll be fine getting home by yourself, I presume?”
“Yep. See ya.” She strolled on over to the door with a lazy wave, and just like that, Tenshi left. Yuuka was alone again, and though Tenshi’s company was surprisingly pleasant, she still let out a small sigh of relief. She could relax now, hopefully...
Well, only for a minute or so, after which the door was hastily re-opened, Tenshi poking her head in. “I forgot, but I’m totally coming back for a rematch later, okay? You’d better be ready!”
Before Yuuka could respond, the door was shut again. She stood where she was for a good couple of minutes just to make sure Tenshi wasn’t going to abruptly pop in again, before cracking a small smile and chuckling.
What a weirdo.

2) Least Favourite Bandai Myu?
Ai no Senshi e no Michi, the only good thing about it is Misako and Kanoko really XD.

Ohh, my dear Mizuki... she’s SO GOOD and underrated I love her sm <3.

So I kept seeing people from the myu cover community post songs in honor of @sailorzakuro's birthday. She's been a big supporter of me too, even though I just started a couple months ago. So I decided to do a birthday cover as well!
When thinking of songs, I pretty quickly thought of "Seijaku no Hostie (Seitai)," Mistress 9's song from Mugen Gakuen. It's in my range, I've analyzed it to death over on Myu Corner, and it was originated by one of Zakuro's favorite myu actresses, Inami Tomoko! (Yes, before becoming Sailor Neptune, she played Mistress 9...she only became Neptune after Yuuka left).
I rehearsed, recorded, edited, and got this up all in one day. I am pretty impressed with myself for that. (And shocked my parents didn’t interrupt to tell me not to be singing loud at 10:00 at night). I had a hard time trying to balance the deepness of Tomoko's voice with the high notes (when I post the fails, you'll get to hear my attempt at an "all high notes" version...it's pretty awful), but I think the result in the end turned out great.
This is now my second English cover! I thought it was time for another one, and also this song sounded better in English than Japanese, strangely. I used lyrics from @seaofserenitysubs this time, cause I really liked their translation. Also, since “hostie” is French, I gave its French pronunciation (where the h is silent; this is also present in the katakana of the original lyrics, as osuti).
This is also the first time I've made my own karaoke; I downloaded the song from SeraMyu Antics and made a karaoke using Audacity.
Anyway, Happy Birthday Zakuro (probably belated by the time you read this), and thank you again for all your support!

A Request [Gouenji/Kidou]
Merry Christmas, @fanfictionbymimnim! I was your Secret Santa. I wrote you a fic, I hope you like it!
Title: A Request Summary: Kidou may be a tactical genius, but even he needs help from Gouenji sometimes. GouKi, Secret Santa gift for Secret Sakka 2017! Word count: 1,558 Notes: Thanks to my Gouenji expert friend Ise @tsuri-ouji and my awesome nuance picker upper friend Clem @oiyama for reading an earlier version and giving their thoughts, it helped a lot to refine the portrayal of Gouenji especially.
Fic below the cut:
A Request
It was, for all intents and purposes, a normal session of club practice, but the way with which Kidou approached Gouenji at the end of it was anything but.
"Kidou, you need something?"
The sense of purpose with which Kidou was striding towards him unnerved Gouenji slightly. Had something happened in practice that he’d missed? Did Kidou still have some pent-up energy left to burn? Normally, Gouenji would be happy to kickabout with Kidou a bit more after practice, but today was a little dicey, since the party was tomorrow and unless he wanted to disappoint Yuuka he had to go and…
"Hey, Gouenji," Kidou said, and was that a hint of hesitation in his voice? The last time Gouenji remembered Kidou sounding this unsure had been back in second year, right after Teikoku had lost to Zeus. It was not exactly a time he wanted to revisit.
“What’s up, Kidou?” Gouenji asked again, because Kidou definitely had something he wanted to say, but seemed to be having trouble getting the words out. No lie, it was getting a little weird.
Kidou’s expression turned rueful. Every brain cell Gouenji possessed was yelling now that this entire situation was strange and he really needed to go, but it was too late. He was well and truly involved in Kidou’s current predicament. Whatever it was, anyway.
“I have something to ask you,” Kidou finally said. His words were confident, like he was giving the team a pre-match briefing. If it wasn’t for the long pause that preceded his words, Gouenji would have been fooled. Instead he was confused.
“Ask away.”
“I plan to get Haruna a Christmas present.” The words spilled out of Kidou’s mouth, and he almost stumbled over them. Seeing their normally capable tactician like this was unexpected, to say the least.
“That’s great,” Gouenji said. Otonashi would appreciate that. What a nice thing for Kidou to do. Was this what he had been trying so hard to say? “What’re you getting her?”
“That’s the thing,” Kidou said, frowning. “I have absolutely no idea. I need your help.”
What? That Gouenji could be an authority on what to gift Haruna was news to him. “Kidou,” Gouenji said, as gently as he could, “I barely know your sister.”
“Yes, but you get yours gifts all the time, you must have an idea.”
“Kidou,” Gouenji said, half-tempted to look for hidden cameras around them. Kidou coming to him for such a simple thing had to be a prank. “Yuuka’s eight. Haruna-san is only one year younger than us. It's completely different, you know?”
“Of course I know that! Are you going to help or not?” A faint blush coated the tips of Kidou’s ears, and he gave Gouenji an indignant look that Gouenji was more charmed than reprimanded by, not that he would ever admit that, of course.
“Kidou.” Gouenji put his right thumb and index finger to the bridge of his nose as he thought of how best to phrase it. “It’s just a matter of thinking what she would like. It’s not that hard.” You had to be a pretty rubbish brother not to understand that much, was what Gouenji wanted to add but thought better of. He wasn’t the one who had been separated from his sister for 8 years, after all.
In that context, Kidou’s uncertainty was understandable and almost even adorable.
Gouenji let his hand fall back down to his side.
“Fine.”
“Fine what?” Kidou’s tone was dubious.
Gouenji didn’t deign to answer him directly. “I was just heading to the shopping district to see if I could get something for Yuuka. Want to come?”
To say the shopping district was packed was an understatement. The throng of shoppers had them fighting just to stay standing, and the jostling of the crowd rivalled the most annoying defence Gouenji had ever faced on the pitch.
When he had carved out his position on the avenue, he looked around for Kidou and managed to grab hold of his sleeve just before the crowd pushed him to the other side of the street.
Kidou’s eyes were hidden by his goggles, but his dreadlocks were askew and beads of sweat dotted his forehead. “It wasn’t this busy the last time we were here.”
“It is the day before Christmas,” was all Gouenji had to say. Of course it would be busy today, now that he thought about it! If he had known, he would have come earlier. He’d never procrastinate buying Christmas gifts ever again.
“I… see,” Kidou said. He probably didn’t come to Inazuma Town much to shop, since he could just ask his butler to get whatever he wanted. Actually, it was the same with Gouenji and his housekeeper, but since Kidou had been the one to ask him for help he didn’t want to appear inexperienced. Kidou wouldn’t figure out that he wasn’t familiar with the area either, not over his dead body.
To give the impression that he had visited the shopping district more than once since the last time they’d come, with Endou to the candy store, Gouenji craned his neck upwards and looked around. A multitude of different stores dotted the street, the signs a healthy mix of old and new. It was surprising that such a street still existed in Inazuma Town. Places like this had been fading for many years, or at least that was what his father said on the rare occasions they went out together.
“So,” Kidou said, sounding a bit less overwhelmed now. “What are you getting Yuuka-chan?”
Gouenji shrugged. “I’ll just get another stuffed toy. Yuuka’s really into rabbits right now.” Where he would get it was the question, but there had to be a toy shop somewhere in the area.
“That must be nice, to have something you know your sister will like no matter what.”
Ah, yes… at the corner at the end of the road, Gouenji could just make out a sign saying ‘Toys Terao’. There we go. But before that, he had something to clear up.
“Look, Kidou,” Gouenji said, turning to him and looking him in the goggles. “It’s not like that. I know I said to get Otonashi-san what she would like, but that’s not all there is to it. You’re the one giving the gift, aren’t you? It’s a two-way street.”
He set off towards the store, and Kidou fell in step behind him, protesting all the while.
“What are you saying? What’s the point of buying something Haruna won’t like?”
“Obviously don’t buy something she’ll hate.” When Gouenji woke up this morning he sure hadn’t expected that he would be giving Kidou, of all people, a dose of sibling counselling today. “But don’t feel too much pressure to get the perfect present. Wait, look.” He pointed at a particularly distinguished-looking storefront, with muted wood décor washed darkly brown and a white sign engraved with calligraphy reading ‘Shirousagi Honpo’. Kidou liked sweets, didn’t he? “See that place?”
“Oh, I know that brand,” Kidou said without missing a beat. “Delicious confections. I love their snow rabbit rice cakes. Father has boxes of the stuff at home all the time. I’m surprised there’s a branch here in Inazuma Town.”
Sometimes it was unbelievable how Kidou could be such a rich kid. “Well, what I’m trying to say is, if you got a box of sweets, and picked the ones you wanted Otonashi-san to try, I think she would really appreciate it.”
“Hmm.” A frown crossed Kidou’s face again. “Really?”
“Really,” Gouenji assured him. “As long as you put true thought behind it, it’ll shine through. Otonashi-san is observant. She’ll understand your feelings.”
“Perhaps,” Kidou said, but he was already walking towards the store. Clearly he was now a man on a mission. Gouenji tapped him on the shoulder, gave him a wave that went unreciprocated, and went to buy Yuuka’s present.
After their first practice after Christmas, Gouenji waited for Kidou to emerge from the changing room.
“How’d it go?” To be honest, if Gouenji were Otonashi-san he would have been happy to receive anything from that expensive store.
“I did as you said,” Kidou replied. He was smiling, which was a good sign. “I picked out twelve sweets I thought she would enjoy.”
“And?”
“She loved them. She sent me a text message this morning saying they tasted really good. Thank you for the suggestion.”
Gouenji returned his smile with a lazy one of his own. “Glad to help.”
“How’d you know it’d be perfect?”
“Well…” Gouenji trailed off. Perfect was a strong word. It had been luck, honestly, that they’d happened to pass that store, but it hadn’t been all luck, either. “Well, I know you like food. The whole team knows after that time we went to Coach Hibiki’s and you looked about to confess to your ramen.”
“That did not happen,” Kidou interjected, but Gouenji ignored him and continued, “And you two are siblings after all. Not too big of a leap.”
After a silence that stretched a bit too long, Gouenji glanced over at Kidou. He was frowning, but Gouenji knew him well enough to figure out that he was just deep in thought.
Eventually, Kidou said, “Thank you, Gouenji.”
Against his will, the edge of Gouenji’s lips tugged up into a wry smile. “Anytime.”
Notes: Sometimes it was unbelievable how Kidou could be such a rich kid, Gouenji thought, without realising that he, too, was a rich kid. Oh well! Merry Christmas!

2017 Art Summary (template)
   When I look at my previous art summaries, I think, "It's already been a year? Two years?!"... I'm surprised at how much I still like some of these pieces. But since I made art summaries for these last two years, why not make one this year too?
   Even though I've been super busy because of uni I managed to draw many things this year, I hope I'll be able to draw even more next year! I'm still struggling with my lenghty art process but I feel like I'm becoming better at it little by little. I can put aside perfectionism now and just, draw and paint with good results, yay! \o/
January - Piece: Tilde of the Forest    I have to admit, I like this one a lot!! I wish I had added some sort of texture, but I want to think it's already fine as it is so it doesn't look too convoluted. I'm glad I managed to make it give off the feeling I wanted it to have. I'm not sure if the forest Tilde lives in will look exactly like this, but I hope to make an area like this in one of my games someday. Making detailed forest maps is super hard, but I'll do my best! ´A`)9
February - Piece: Carmilla    I... barely drew anything this month (mostly stuff I finished the next month). So I picked up this drawing I had done a while ago in pencil and colored it! I really wanted to play FGO back then, but couldn't, but thanks to FGO NA I can now! I've been playing for a while, and I even got her. :') Sometimes dreams do come true. About the drawing itself, I like how it reminds me a bit of a painting, especially the reds. It got so few response when I posted it that I felt like there might be something wrong with it, but now I still like it regardless! \o/
March - Piece: Sisterly Hatred    Finally, a month with more stuff! I was able to draw a lot of Touhou this month thanks to requests on Twitter. ;v; I really missed drawing Touhou!! It's one of my favorite sagas, so I'm glad I drew quite a lot of it this year. The stars this month are the two paintings I drew from Pocket Mirror, though! I really like these two! Special mention to Cynthia too!    (I also started posting my adoptables this month! Yay!)
April - Piece: Wicked Hermit    Touhou! This one was also one of the requests, but I decided to go a bit wild with it and ended up making it more detailed. I wanted to draw a pretty Seiga anyways, so I took the chance. She's pretty high up on my favorite Touhous ranking. ;v; The background was completely improvised, but it looks surprisingly well. I really like how it came out! (After SAI crashing and making me lose all the shading once, it better be... orz)
May - Piece: Cecillia    This one doesn't even have an actual title since it's just a doodle, but since I barely drew anything this month, here it is! Though it does have something special (other than it being a tribute for my favorite OC's birthday! I love her!!), and it's that I drew it in a very very short time while still looking nice. A bit closer to my process goal. ;v; It... it's really going to be two years since I created her next May? Time sure goes by fast...
June - Piece: Lynerea    I actually started this one on May and only finished the last touches in June, but since I was very busy with my third year uni project this month I didn't draw anything else other than adoptables. However, I really, really like the result! It doesn't look like the usual expressions I draw, and it's a bit of a more dynamic stance. The background was also completely improvised, including the magic circles... I'm still not sure how I drew them (magic??), but I'm super happy with it.    I want to make more drawings like this, with people casting magic in cool poses... yeah B)
July - Piece: Yukari    I have to confess, I really disliked how this drawing was looking while I was working on it. I find coloring blonde hair a bit harder than colors like red or green (my favorites to color), and since there was so much of it... Other than that, I felt like it really looked more simple than what I had in mind. It took me quite a lot of tries to get motivated enough to finish it (since I dislike leaving drawings unfinished even more!) However, after finishing it, I feel like it's not that bad at all! I'm glad I did. I have to learn that simple doesn't equal bad. ;v; (The hair still gives me nightmares, though!!)
August - Piece: Forget-me-not    Another piece that took several years off my lifespan, but for a really good cause. I got so tired of looking at it, and I was even planning on coloring all these flowers one by one at the beginning (thanks copypaste for saving me from this torture). But after finishing, it's probably one of my favorites so far, especially the upper left corner! I like that flower section specifically.    This character has her own story which I have pretty much developed, but I've got to finish other projects first. She's not the protagonist, though!    I also opened (pixel) commissions for the first time. I do plan on opening illustration commissions in the future, though! (I'm growing up! \o/)
September - Piece: Rose Queen    I!! GOT!! ROSETTA!! I sparked her on August after having been saving up since January. I really wanted to draw something to celebrate so there she is! I actually made two different sketches, one for this drawing and one for an alternate version I finished later. This one took wayyy too long, so I decided to just go ahead and post it before finishing the other. To be honest, she's probably my favorite character out of, like, anything, so I really wish I could draw her more frequently. ;v;    I feel like I overworked the coloring in this one a bit, though. I hope I get to draw her well someday... on the other hand, I spent a lot of this month working on my cosplay of her. Gotta show my love however I can. /)v(\
October - Piece: Ran    More Touhou!! Ran was the last one of the Touhou requests I got many months before. I wanted to draw her with Yukari (and a bonus Chen) at first, but couldn't get the sketch right. In the end, I gave up and drew her by herself, though it also took a bunch of tries! I'm also proud of Peony, which is another drawing that barely took me any time to finish. I managed to sacrifice a lot of perfectionism in this one, and it made me feel like I had taken a step forward.
November - Piece: Flower Master of the Four Seasons    I actually drew this one on paper on summer, even before HSiFS came out! I wanted to color it before then but in the end time passed, I drew other things and forgot about it a bit. After that, it suffered a bit like my Yukari drawing on July... I tried to work on it because I didn't want to leave it unfinished (and because Yuuka is my favorite Touhou character!). I wasn't very happy with the result, and lost a lot of motivation.    But in the end, I decided to just go simple and do what I could. And it worked! The background I was scared to face became a few strokes, and in the end I managed to have fun with the coloring. I like this drawing a lot now. I think about this every time I dislike my works in progress; that maybe after finishing I'll look at them with other eyes.
December - Piece: Undead Relic   I had hoped to draw more this month before it ended, but I just took a lot of time to finish a single drawing that is not this one... oh well. ;v;    This is another piece that I managed to finish in a short time with good results!! I hadn't drawn Reliquia in some time. Now that I look at her, I notice that she doesn't actually have that much hair... I just go way too overboard when drawing hair... orz
   I.. I sure wrote a lot this year, didn’t I? It feels like it's kind of an overview of my year and the things I’ve felt and thought about. Thank you so much if you’ve read my ramblings so far!!
   Onwards to a hopefully great, art-filled 2018! \o/

Rollercoaster of Emotion : A Keyakizaka Story
The “Republic of Keyakizaka” concert took place the week end of 22-23 July, in FujiQ conifer forest. With a schedule matching mine, i had the privilege to attend the two days full of keyakizaness, from unique scenery inside the park to the sharp performance of the girls. I will attempt to bring as much anecdote from the inside as i can, and yes there’s a lot of things to say!
Tumblr media
The concert took place near the popular attraction park FujiQ Highland.
Getting tickets as a foreigner might be an hassle. I had to create a Rakuten account, an EMTG account, have a credit card that works, a japanese phone number and address. You can get the last two by submitting to tenso, a japanese service specialized in shipping Japanese goods. After that, it was first come first served so web servers were saturated from fans multiple connections, disabling the service for those who have poor internet. Fortunately the venue capacity was big (12 000 seats) and some gave up because the venue was too far from tokyo (2 hours from bus/3 from train). 6 hours after the start of the selling, i managed to buy 2 tickets (i didn’t choose seats). Something hard, was also to book a bus ( most japanese fans rushed to this service as well) and all hotel were book. I got lucky to find a very affordable airbnb (guesthouse online service) and managed to secure a super early Bus from tokyo to the venue. Vacations were finally starting!
Tumblr media
A sneak peek of the queuing line for Keyakizaka goods. There’s three of them.
There’s a reason i wanted to come early: exclusive goods! I wasn’t satisfied with the towel available on the official online store, but the one sold at the venue was a real “coup de coeur”. Hirate Yurina being a very popular member, i didn’t wanted to face a sold-out situation. I arrived at 10AM and the show started at 5PM(afternoon). But there was already a massive line worth 1.5 hours! Easy to tell that Goods are really popular items of collection. I thought i was going to wait in hellfire, but weather was cloudy and the forest around were kind of absorbing the heat. Also we were waiting below the fujiyama rollercoaster so it was fun to see people getting scared 60m above our line. What surprised me was how disciplined fans were : patiently waiting their turn, and quickly purchasing their goods. What looked really long actually moved quite fast. Aki-p was also prepared : there was a huge amount of package behind the selling staff to fulfill everyone’s otaku needs. Thumbs up for japanese neat organization!
Tumblr media
Exclusive goods were affordable and high quality.
i was positively surprised at the goods prices. 3000Y 100% cotton T shirts, 3000Y lighsticks and 2000Y the god of items, the oshi towel. Aside from the oshi towel, the biggest value for me was the exclusive fanclub keyakizaka bandana (the one on my bag) with the unbeatable price of 300Y. There was also this 4500Y exclusive T shirt with handmade blazer “humility, kindness, bond” but i skipped due to budget reasons. The highlight was also keyakizaka photoset : for 1000Y, they give you a set of 5 random pictures, either from special silent majority (kohaku version) to futari season (gold uniform). I had a good pull with yuipon, moriya, shida manaka. When i got out, there were hundreds of fans trading like crazy to complete their sets! Some had 30 000 Y worth of photos, just to get a chance to have their oshimen sets complete. As you can expect, a lot of fans keep popular members set for their own collection, and to trade them is very rare. The trading was a raging battle and with my poor 5 pictures, i didn’t tried to join the fray. Even though i could probably catch  Yurina... let’s hope for another chance in the summer tour!
Tumblr media
There was so many keyakizaka fans that the park could have been renamed Keyakizaka land.
Keyakizaka performing in Conifere forest was undoubtly a big collaboration with FujiQ Highland. Sony management get a big venue and promotion from FujiQ, while FujiQ ultra boost its attendance rate with all the wota coming to have a good time in the park. I won’t be surprised if they do it again. The scenery was unreal : almost 70% of the park customers were wearing their oshi towel and keyaki T-shirts. After all, the 1500Y admission pass was free for those who had concert tickets (but you have to pay the biggest rollercoasters). It was a great opportunity for group of friends to attend both fujiQ and keyakizaka GIG, but also couples and families. There was members panel scattered over the whole park and fans had to search for their oshi (see above). You could see who were popular according to the lane of fans waiting to get the perfect shot. Zuumin, Monarisa, Neru always had a lane. Techi was very well hidden (at the near edge between 2 rollercoaster) and had like 100 members queuing for her! It took me 1h to find the panel and take a picture, but the hide and seek game was fun.
About the sociology : after a lot of observation, i would say the ratio is 75-25 boys/girls, and most of them were very young 15-20 years old. They probably didn’t lived the Acchan era, and that explain why AKB is declining : AKB didn’t managed to appeal to this new fandom; Nogizaka and Keyaki did. I haven’t seen goods related to other idol group, even from Nogizaka. It was really all about Keyaki. I’ll be honest, it was hard to connect with fans. Langage barrier, also they were already hanging in groups of friend/Focus on trading. I chatted a bit with fans when i was queueing in Fujiyama rollercoaster, and they were surprised i came from France, but that’s about it. On a side note, Fujiyama has nice attractions like Eee janai ka (see videos on youtube) so please check it out for one day (you don’t need more, and go on weekdays) if you have the opportunity to do so!
Tumblr media
The actual venue, with a big stage looking like a castle with flags ornaments.
The actual venue was very convenient. There were a lot of staff guiding fans and you just had to cross the bridge to be at the concert. Lot of policemen, security was strict, checking bags and ID. Impossible to resell ticket thanks to this, even with accompany status (the concert didn’t sold out anyway). How it was organized : seats were spread through blocks. For example, if you get A block, you’re very close to the stage, and if you get the number 7-9, you are in the center of the venue. Kami seats were not A1(on the edge, but still good), but A7 (sooo close). Since i bought ticket late, i had F2, which is quite bad, but i was already glad to be there. I had the big left screen to follow the concert (picture above). You were given a balloon to use it during Sekai ni wa ai shikanai. Saturday i would say was filled at 95%, and Sunday was 90%. Mission accomplished.
Tumblr media
The girls appeared in brand new horsemen-inspired costume, holding (*cough* confederate *cough*) flags.
The show was finally starting! Big new instrumental intro to lift the atmosphere, again with the army style. People wavering their greenlighstick, all standing up. Techi was standing in the middle with her badass stare like the leader of the army. After this intro, they played Overture and followed by the 3 first singles. First thing i wanted to confirm : No zuumin (imaizumi Yui) also Yonetani nanami chose to focus on her studies in the meantime. Anyway choregraphy went smoothly and the crowd was cheering and doing the mix (wota chant). It’s our way to tell the girls we’re enjoying our time and mutually motivating ourselves. It’s our way to communicate! Overall members had good expressions, like Moriya, Yuuka and Neru, but also Satoh shiori and uemura rina that were dancing on my side. Others like Berika and Techi were kind of warming up, trying to avoid making mistakes.
Tumblr media
There were a lot of interactions between fans and the group. Shida Manaka particulary enjoyed shooting on fans but also members.
Aozora and Bokutachi no sensou were pretty original : they put the crowd into work sending big floating air balls that we were bumping around the venue, and girls had waterstream to shower the first lanes. Other members had waterguns. It was really festive and even though bokutachi no sensou is not my favourite song, people were having fun. Aozora to marry is a fan favourite, as the calls were very strong.
Tumblr media
Techi entering the scene the coolest way possible
Techi was singing live, with a playback running behind. A double edged sword as if her pitch was off, it could be distinguishly heard, so she focused a lot on her singing. Her voice is more girly than the studio version, which was cute. However, because she wanted to do good, she was restraining herself and her moves lacked expressions. She didn’t interacted much with the crowd, making her cold. As if she was aware of her mistake, she did significantly better Sunday and she felt much more natural. Hearsaying on my way home, a lot were satisfied with her performance, as her aura is “yabai” (so impressive)
Yurina’s performance was followed by Hiragana keyaki 2 songs, “hiragana keyaki” and “boku wa tsukiatteru”. I was pleasantly surprised at how genki, smiling and fluffy the girls were, lifting up the crowd even more. They were so much more expressive than Kanji singles it kind of woke up everyone. The song in studio is standard orthodox idol, but it is a killer during live performance because the lyrics are easy to remember and moves easy to mimic. Very good surprise, i saw myself tagging along, leaving behind all regrets to look ridicule. At the end, Sasaki kumi took charge of the MC. I can see she is comfortable with talking, but topics to talk about could be improved. Other girls were short to comment.
Tumblr media
Waterworks  were giving density to the rare performed “Otona wa shinjite kurenai”
Kanji are back with the great “otona wa shinjite kurenai” and the very anticipated “eccentric”. Very solid performance, very sharp and powerful. The girls are in their element and Techi is finally unleashing the darkness within her. We don’t have mix in this song, but people were amazed and couldn’t speak much. It gaves a stronger feeling than Silent majority. Less mainstream, much deeper. I really liked it. Great follow up with Eccentric, people argued the choregraphy was a hit or miss, but i would say definitevely a hit! If felt like the girls were having erratic spasm, but did synchronized move as well. Very technical. The song itself is good, and i saw myself doing the wakame dance (waving my arms), shuffling my towel (while they use their shoes) and shaking my chest. (that was weird).
Something i noticed too in Hohoemi Ga kanashii and Wareta Smartphone. Because Techi is a little bit cranky and mechanical, the chemistry with Neru is not perfect. Techi shines in dark songs, but on her path to become a great idol, she needs to express herself more in normal situation. It feels like Neru is assisting her rather than being a balanced pairing. On the other song, Berika is reminding me of Paruru, doing the barely minimum during performance. I know it’s funny to put someone awkward in a sexy song, but i don’t think it’s helping her to grow. The contrast with the sexyness of Moriya is making her look bad. She looks more comfortable in songs like Aozora ga chigau. In the meantime, Mona risa are fooling around while Yuuka try to focus on the choregraphy. I personally like Wareta smartphone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes the wota culture can be misunderstood.
We reached a climax with the 3 last songs, “Kataru nara mirai wo”, “Takaku tobe” and “Te wo tsunaide Kaerou ka”? Kataru Nara is an absolute jewel of choregraphy and the mix were really strong. Before that we had a Hiragana and Kanji dance medley very similar to what happened in Ariake. Some moves were recycled, but i don’t mind as the girl had little time to practice. Special shoutout to Suzumoto Miyu who is by far the best dancer of the groupe. Saito Kyoko dance battled with her and she was very decent too. As people were hyping, they send Takaku tobe which once again blowed me away at how popular of a song it was. Perhaps the instrumental got changed to sound more upbeat, but everyone was tagging along with the moves and quirky mimics. Hiragana songs are really popular! To answer to that, Kanji Keyaki used Te wo tsunaide, another popular song that worship the yuukanen pairing. People were warming up at Yuukanen chasing each other, in a very cute way. The cheering was pretty even with Takaku tobe.
Tumblr media
The Encore escalated quickly, with loud screams and fireworks.
To me the big highlight was the encore, Fukyouwaon. People knew it was the last powerful song so we kind of put everything to it. The girls exploded and the pyrotechnics made it look like a warfield. It was so funny i shouted “boku wa yada” with Techi similar to if i was in hellfest, surprising people next to me (i thought it was part of the mix , sorry). Anyway, people did their best mix and you couldn’t hear the rollercoaster next to us. Fukyouwaon went from the “weakest” A-side to “best A-side on stage” haaands down. It was truly marvelous and you could see the girls were enjoying the crowd hype as their moves were growing in power (Techi was smiling from enjoyment).
Finally we finished with our anthem kanji/hiragana together, Keyakizaka no Uta. We kind of let loose after the final rush and enjoyed the last bit of time together. We had fireworks and it almost felt the girls weren’t aware. Since we were around 7PM, it was night and you could completely see the fireworks. People were having a blast. I heard “sugeee” “yabaaai” “majiiii de” from everywhere when it started to lighten up the sky.

Aki-p used credit card platinum. It was very effective.
In conclusion, it was a great experience to live as a fan. You could either skip Saturday or Sunday as it was the same setlist. Unfortunately, Yonetani and Zumiko absence were quite heavy, leaving their fans bittersweet. Also there was only eccentric as new song, making fans craving for more. That’s why it can’t beat Ariake coliseum yet. But fear not! Because Keyaki summer schedule is very busy; they still have to perform the summer tour, handshakes, summer sonic, fuji rock and Tokyo idol festival. I think Zuumin will come back avoiding the hectic schedule, just in time for their biggest stop, Makuhari Messe. Keyaki story is not over yet!
I was impressed once again by japanese crowd control. They brought special train for people to come back safely to tokyo. The guideline was perfect, and they regulate trains so people don’t overcrowd it. Also it was free, so i only paid 500 yen to come back from Fujisan to Chiba! They really do the maximum for the fans and i’m really grateful.
It’s not all the time you see a town full of wota, wearing their oshi towel like it’s pretty standard; to see fans helping each other to take turns of 2shots, praising their respective oshimen quality; a young daughter refusing his also-fan dad to accompany her in handshake to not be embarassed in front of her oshimen... Now i realized what the true meaning of “republic of keyakizaka” is : people bonding, having fun together, enjoying life around the positive energy that brings the group.

“Fires of the Sun, Part 6″ Thoughts
I know this is coming late, but i had a busy weekend. Stupid million sport games and most of my coworkers calling out.
I'm going to skim over most of the opening scene, as there's little to add, and just comment on the bit where the Dragons accidentally barbecue the mob. I went back and forth on whether or not to go through with that, as I've been trying to pull away from grimdark plot twists. One possibility was to have them break up out of the ground when Yukari was exploring the ruins of Mugenkan and unknowingly attack her, and have Yuuka reform and go after her with the mordite blade when she was distracted. But in the end, I went with this direction because A, I needed to keep Yukari and co. busy for a little while longer so Rin could wrap things up with Sakuya, and B, Mima's plan needed to succeed in a major way. Thus far, only Patchouli ended up falling victim to her revenge scheme, and with Satori's rescue her dupes actually ended up netting something of a profit. So having her successfully rack up a huge amount of collateral damage and put it on Yukari's shoulders helped cement her as a dangerous antagonist and set up Yukari's attempts to take her down in the future.
Rin and Flandre's cute little celebration helped establish a few points. First, in a callback to her misunderstanding how handshakes work during her meeting with Utsuho, Flandre not getting high fives really is clueless about how to interact with people. Even going beyond her fits of destructive rage, she doesn't know about handshakes, doesn't know how high fives work, and just doesn't get how to function as a normal person. She's never had the opportunity to learn. I personally feel that, once you get past her psychotic episodes, she really is a sweet girl at heart. This is further emphasized by her and Rin's reactions to Yuuka's "death." Rin didn't feel bad one little bit, while Flandre immediately was hit by guilt. Not to say that Rin should have felt bad. Hell, I don't think anyone would claim that Yuuka was someone worth shedding tears over. Still, it does sort of show that, despite their similarities, they're sort of developing in opposite directions. Rin started off as meek and scared and really hesitant to hurt anyone, and now she's finally run out of fucks to give and gladly dishes out beatdowns when the situation calls for it. Flandre was violently unpredictable at best, far more prone to berserker rages before Rin unlocked the Adult personality, but now feels terrible for contributing to anyone's death, even a monster like Yuuka. I don't know if that's going to lead anywhere, but it's interesting to note.
Now, I'm not going to say all of Wriggle and Kogasa's frequent interactions are necessarily leading anywhere, but…well, okay. So maybe I'm just sort of testing the water with that one. Romance is something I've mostly avoided until now, and do sort of want to expand things in the future and try out different things, so…it's a possibility, let's just keep it at that.
Rumia's insomnia problems are interesting on a meta level. I introduced them mainly because of my own time with having chronic insomnia and how much that ended up affecting me. Now I've long gotten over them while Rumia still has them, poor kid. Obviously her problems are way greater than mine. I just messed myself up with unhealthy habits. With her, I think something is definitely screwed up in her brain. I was actually going to take it even further with her frequently hallucinating that she was still in Rin's mind like that one time by the river. This didn't end up happening mainly because when you got a lot of plotlines running around, sometimes interesting ideas just have to get cut.
Smug, incompetent Yukari got a lot of flak early on in this story's run, and admittedly deservingly so. I still feel she got a harsher rap than she should have, but that's just my opinion. I worked pretty hard to soften her up somewhere around the mid-point, and may have overcompensated at points, but here at the end I do feel she's finally settled into a nice groove as a take-charge commander. Hey, I like strong authority figures in my stories. Just don't insinuate anything of my sexual preferences from that.
And I don't know if Kotohime was taking a dump or not, I just hope she found time to wipe if she did.
In other news, I really should have paid more attention to Doremy Sweet's design, as I kept describing her as having a puffball tails instead of a cow tail until the very end. Another reason to go back and just fix all the mistakes. Though interesting to note, I was thinking of including Wriggle in that final climax with Yuuka, to have her attack her from behind with an army of insects and just call her out on all the shit Yuuka had done to her while kicking her in the head over and over. Unfortunately this got cut for the same reason everything else did: no room for it. Which is a shame, because she did deserve that closure. Rin apologizing to her for it was sort of to make up for not including it.
I do like Wriggle's constant concern for Elly, even after everything that had happened. I think the flashbacks to when they were friends were a major part of the decision to start portraying Elly in a more sympathetic light. I was actually kind of tempted to have Rin successfully kidnap Elly and bring her along for a sort of weird forced face turn. Alas, I needed her elsewhere, so instead she got paired off with Yuuka's super-burnt body instead.
While I'm pretty happy with how FotS came out as a whole, there are three parts that stand out in my mind as personal highlights. The first is Utsuho's speech to Rin from earlier. The second is that final mental confrontation between Rin, Flandre, and Yuuka. And the third is the faceoff between Sakuya and Rin, with Rumia's life and Flandre's freedom on the line. Something I've learned from wrestling and various other action-heavy series is that you don't need a bunch of flashy moves and big explosions to craft a memorable showdown. You just need two people with clear motivations who really don't like each other stuck in the same room with something very important on the line that neither of them can afford to lose. Though I actually had to rewrite a couple parts in post, as originally Rin was going to go straight from saving Rumia to threatening Sakuya with the knife without so much as checking up in Rumia. I've mentioned being on the autistic spectrum a couple times, and unfortunately that does mean I often overlook those sort of empathetic details. And no, that doesn't mean I don't have empathy; far from it. It just means that my way of expressing it is often a bit…off from everyone else, and I sometimes have to remember how most people express emotion when writing. So that whole bit had to get changed to have Rin express the emotions she ought be expressing, as well as that short confrontation between Rin and Flandre over Patchouli's death to make Rin more panicky over Rumia's peril. I like the way I am and wouldn't change it even if I could, but it does mean that I sometimes have to consciously remember to do things that most people just do naturally.
Anyway, this scene was also another example of foreseeing logical problems and countering them ahead of time to avoid fridge logic. Why wouldn't Sakuya just stop time to begin with? Well, she needed to force Rin to give up Flandre. Why wouldn't she do it when Flandre was released? Her hands were full and Rin would have killed her the second the pocketwatch appeared. The tricky one was why she wouldn't just stop time after Flandre was out and Rin was otherwise distracted. Thinking of this problem actually led to a pretty cool bit where she tried doing just that and Flandre seeing it and screaming out a warning. I was stumped at how Rin would get to her in time before she pressed down. I mean, she's really fast and all, but she's not that fast. Then I remembered that Flandre's power is instantaneous, and it would be a great symbolic moment to have her be the one to destroy the pocketwatch, followed be her getting defenestrated. Hey, I like Sakuya as much as the next guy, and totally get where she was coming from. But come on. From Rin's point of view, she totally deserved that.
Which was then followed by Mima trying to squish her with rocks (and boy, was it tough to arrange things so that would end up happening after all!) and Meiling comes in with the save! Nothing much to say about that except I thought it was rad. Yeah, I really liked these last couple of chapters.
Now, if anyone is curious, Yuuka's odd look and bizarre babbling are a parody of Broken Matt Hardy, a pro wrestler (and yes, my life does in fact revolve around pro wrestling. Deal with it), whose…unusual reinvention of himself was one of the most talked about stories in 2016. Suffice to say, it's weird, it's indescribable, and it's very, very entertaining. I love the character, and couldn't resist sticking in a little shoutout, mainly to see if anyone would notice. And someone actually did!
Though, on a side note, it was actually originally Sunshu that was supposed to take the hit from the mordite blade. That's why she showed up in that scene where Yukari slapped her and Orin down. I had an idea where she'd break free, storm into the mansion, and go after Yukari again only to get killed by Yuuka. But that was scrapped because I figured that the GPF knew their stuff and would be able to restrain even an oni, especially one that Yukari had already put down. Besides, Shinki taking the hit instead opens things up for some interesting future developments.
Other things that I got a kick out included the fact that the Dragon King's name is Frank. Okay, Francioux, whatever. It made me giggle. As did Rin pretty much lighting Sariel up like a Looney Tunes bomb explosion. BECAUSE I'M AN ADULT!
Another thing I haven't talked much about: Mima and Seiga's role in FotS. Here, they pretty much were the Greek chorus, watching and commenting on the action. With so many moving parts, it was useful to have a sort of outside perspective explaining the various characters motivations and why they would do some things, as well as set up the couple of times Mima interfered. In things like The Storm and The Curious Case of Rin Satsuki, Yuuka filled that role, but since Lady Meika already said that she was going to refrain from doing commentary that role was instead filled by a different set of assholes.
And no, I have no idea how Seiga and Futo got down there so quickly. Use your imaginations. Though I can already tell that Futo's speech patterns are going to be a pain in the ass until I get the hang of this old-timey talk.

So who are your favorite Touhous? I'm guessing Reisen is one of them?
Bitch you know it. I love all the 2hus pretty much equally, but if I had to rank my 20 favorites, it'd go like this.
20. Yuuka. Really freaking cute and really freaking scary, with the added bonus of generally being made hot by the fanbase. Has some of my favorite tracks in the PC-98 games as her themes, and makes me feel enamored anytime I see her done justice in a fan work. Sometimes people take her sadism way too far though.
19. Marisa. Super cool and has a really fun personality, but ultimately my least favorite to play as out of the playable characters. Idk why, she just is. She's also easy to mess up in fanfics, usually by virtue of making her an OOC mess that can barely talk to the other side(s) of the story's ship or Flanderizing some of her worst aspects like her greed, impulsiveness, or obnoxious behavior. If you follow @touhou-gensoudairantou, you'll know I promised a Marisa moveset... She's coming, okay?
18. Yuyuko. Has a very charming design and a really cute relationship with Youmu, but she doesn't appear a lot unless Youmu does too. I hope Wily Beast and Weakest Creature has her show up. She also nuked my 1cc run of PCB which just... demoralized me.
17. Yukari. She's so cool and so interesting, but she's one of the easiest characters to fuck up imo. Usually done by over-emphasis on her crueller aspects (making her an insufferable edgelord in the process), her age (the hag jokes got old really quick), or (and please try to not hate me too much for this) practically shoehorning in ships. I've seen a lot of bad romance stories, but Yukari seems to get hit the hardest by the REALLY bad ones. You know Draco Malfoy's depiction in My Immortal? How he's basically turned into Ebony's bitch by virtue of him becoming a whiny little wimp? I've seen quite a few stories where that happens to either Yukari or whoever she's getting Red Stringed with.
16. Alice. Her abilities are cool as fuck, and her design is easily one of my favorites. Her interactions with Marisa give me life.
15. Junko. I feel for her man, I really do.
14. Hecatia/Clownpiece. Their designs are so striking, and it suits their personalities so well. They have a great dynamic with Junko in fanfics too, especially Hecatia.
13. Kisume. Ungodly cute, and a personal favorite of my good friend @sunneflower. I'm scared she'll eat me, but I taste like shit anyway.
12. Sumireko. She's so relatable, and her chuuni personality just speaks to me on a personal level. I hope she appears more often.
11. Seija. Gotta say, I'm shocked I don't talk about her more but she's hilarious and ISC is a really fun game. If you have complaints about my placement, then flip the number and replace her with... idk, Kasen? She's super neat. Wild and Horned Hermit is good. Karen's pretty.
10. Reimu. The gatekeeper of the Top 10, and the main heroine of the series. Relatable, greatly written, occasionally really attractive, and an amazing character all around.
9. Cirno. And by extension the rest of Team 9 and most other early stage bosses. I hate calling her an idiot because I'm a filthy casual who ruins people's fun amd I hate picking on people because who don't deserve it becaus3 I used to get picked on when I was a kid and I FUCKING hated it. Not much justification she and the others are super fucking cute and I like their themes a lot.
8. Rumia. Blame Mori. He made me like her more and more and more. She's prolly the cutest out of the first stage bosses, and therefore my favorite.
7. Byakuren. She's really... really fuckin pretty? She's so nice and kind and sweet? You wanna go bitch?
6. The SDM crew. They're Green Hill Zone level overused in fan works, and I hate how Play, Doujin and Nippon Ichi charge me money to play with them more on consoles (because FUCK PC), but... nah, I can't be too mad at them. Not when they're the reason Touhou is as big as it is, not when they've got some god tier themes, and not when Patchouli Knowledge exists. Koakuma, Sakuya, and Meiling are also hot af, and the Scarlet Sisters are stupidly adorable and really fuckin' cool.
5. Youmu/Tenshi. They got cool weapons/Spell Cards, endearing personalities with compelling flaws, great designs, and some stupidly good music.
4. Minoriko and Shizuha. Blame Mori (@fall-in-the-dark ) and our mutual friend @ice-cold-rose for this. They've endeared me to these too stupidly underrated girls so much that It's not even funny. Excellent autumny designs, some of the best music ZUN's ever composed, and a genuinely believable sibling relationship that I really like.
3.5. Koishi. Why is she placed here? Because it's my list, fuck you. Pattern goes that She's interesting and cute and has good music and can you tell I'm bad at describing things I like because I really am
3. The Moriya Shrine Goddesses. Um... how could I NOT? Kanako is gorgeous, Sanae is beautiful, and Suwako is pretty? Is that good enough for he?
2. The rest of the Imperishable Night cast. Eirin is a genuine goddess, Keine is a really cool teacher, Kaguya and Mokou have one of the most interesting relationships in the series, and Tewi is just flat out amazing.
Honorable Mentions:
-Nue. Sick design and the Heian-kyo Alien reference is amazing.
-Mamizou. One of my favorite takes on the Tanuki since Tom Nook.
-Aya. Great character development and a real beauty.
-Yuugi. I love the oni in general, but Yuugi's the definite favorite.
-Mima. Would be higher but ZUN needs to bring her back.
-Nitori. Cute as hell, and really fun to use with Marisa.
-everyone else honestly this list is so arbitrary
And now my obvious pick.
1. Reisen. QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN
WIFE.
Okay if I didn't turn you off go follow the blog's I @'d because they're cool ppl.

Labyrinthine December Part Final: Stat the Leftovers
Tumblr media
...I just noticed that I added way too much TP to Okuu. Oops lol
Anyway, it’s time to finally address the last three postgame characters. In terms of LoT’s maingame, I’ve just been bumbling about and making huge mistakes like “buffing MND for my DEF tanks”, “buffing MAG for MND tanks like Iku”, “buffing both stats for composite attackers like Cirno” and other goofs.
For the postgame, there’s a statting guide I’ve been relying on for from MotK. It has been very, very good, since it has turned Mystia into a dungeon sweeping goddess and in the few cases I’ve not followed it (like Kanako having a MAG / HP spread of bonuses), it hasn’t turned out well.
= = =
Okuu:
This one’s a no brainer, Okuu needs MAG boosts. Okuu is no tank: I think a tank can have *only* one bad affinity, maybe two. Okuu has *three* bad affinities, however, and top it off, her attacks actually weaken herself (Chen style), and she offers no support so yeah, her defensive stats are not getting the bonuses. As for offensive stats: Okuu only uses MAG.
I suppose you could make an argument for upping SPD, but I’m not about to make that one now. So we’re settling with MAG. And now, without further ado
Tumblr media
Final Stats:
HP: 50k. This is not great. Her contemporaries in this category are... Chen, Orin, Sanae and Tenshi. Her contemporaries in the general character type of “tanky MND attacker” (which includes Eirin, Alice and Mokou) all have much, much higher health than her.
MAG: 74k currently. I think, pre-bonuses, her stat was like 40k, so this is a huge bump. Except for Marisa who is sitting at sub-90k (with extra skillpoints put into MAG), this puts her above MAG leaders such as Kaguya (69k), Alice (67k), Patchy (65k) and Kanako (64k).
DEF and MND: These sit at 25k and 26k respectively. It is fully worth noting that in relation to other tanky MND attackers, this is right around Mokou’s level (except that Mokou has shitty defenses so this is really not good). For comparison, Alice sits around 26k for DEF... but has 43k for MND. This stat is inflated by my main-game statting though. Eirin is at a firm, balanced 39k / 38k spread, but I’ve specifically been cultivating that balanced spread.
SPD: 1044 SPD ain’t bad. It definitely means she’s not slow, though with the exception of Suwako, she’s in the SPD class you typically see a lot of hardier characters in.
Overall Impressions: I don’t really know about her as an addition. My biggest issue is that there’s no shortage of MYS attackers (Marisa, Yuuka, Rumia, Reisen) or FIR attackers (Yuugi, Mokou, Alice, Orin). She’s not even the only FIR and MYS attacker, as Flandre exists, though she is infinitely safer to use than Flandre is. I also feel there’s a good chance I don’t end up using her since we’re at the endgame and I’d rather stick to the characters I know.
Thankfully, a New Game+ does exist for Labyrinth of Touhou 1 so I might get more use out of her there.
= = =
Keine:
Looking at her raw stats and abilities;
Keine has good HP growth, followed by okay SP, ATK and DEF growth. MND and SPD aren't bad choices. She doesn't use EVA or MAG but they're bad choices anyway.
Keine has two ATK spells and three buffing spells. Her ATK spells operate like Alice, in that her first spell targets DEF while her second spell targets MND. Her three buffs cover ATK, MAG and DEF. It's worth noting that Keine doesn't benefit from MAG, and Keine also can't cover MND, her defensive weak spot.
The play notes on the Wiki mention that she's got good HP growth, good affinities and her offensive buffs are pretty unique. Off the top of my head, this seems about right: Reisen, Maribel, Okuu and Chen can only buff themselves, Sanae and Iku can only buff one at a time, and Ran's buff is very slow. She’s only “competing” with Ran in this space, and Ran is used more for back row buffing, not front row.
I’ll admit that the offensive buffs are very, very appealing to me. While her ability to target DEF and MND with non-elemental spells are certainly interesting, I’d probably need to invest into her ATK stat for it to do good damage. And since I always, always, always put priority on survivability for my buffers, all I can say is...
Tumblr media
Welcome to the party, DEF-build Keine! I look forward to utilizing your buffs.
Final Stats
HP: 73k. They weren’t kidding about her HP growth. 70k is about where all my good supports sit (Yukari, Ran) and it’s just below HP growth powerhouses like Meiling, Yuugi, Sakuya and Remilia. Though technically not as impressive as the tanks, considering her upcoming stats, her HP is actually quite good. She’s certainly not going down without a good hit.
DEF: 48k. Make way for a new Queen in the DEF category. With bonuses, her DEF got bumped from 29k to 48k. Like I mentioned before, her HP might not be so great, but her DEF puts most other tanks to shame. It’s well above Sakuya (40k), slightly above Remilia (46k) and just below Meiling (50k). She’s far below Yuugi but Yuugi cracks under certain magical, elemental attacks. She’s got a similar MND weakpoint, but between the better SPD and affinities, she’s never as vulnerable as Yuugi can be in certain situations.
SPD: 1070 SPD. Again, not slow, but not particularly fast. Also again: much better than Yuugi’s SPD.
Overall Impressions: It’s a bummer that we’ve been fighting a streak of MND targeting bosses, because Keine seems like she’d be useful in plenty of other fights. I’ll try to fit her into my party when I return to this game, though like with Okuu, I’ll get more time to experiment in NG+ next time
= = =
Yuuka
Yuuka seems like she can be built as an attacker or as a tank with support. In terms of raw stats, her current maxed stats would be:
HP: 59k SP: 1100 ATK: 24k DEF: 32k  MAG: 47k MND: 23k SPD: 837 Her affinities are solid, except for NTR (which is good) and FIR (which is bad)
In terms of raw stats, she’s pretty similar off to Kanako. Their SP’s and SPD are quite similar. While Kanako has a more even spread of DEF and MND, Yuuka’s is skewed towards DEF. I can’t compare MAG or HP since both have been manipulated for Kanako, though I know Yuuka has better, natural HP.
In terms of abilities, Yuuka has a concentration of NTR spells with one big MYS spell (which is her own version of Master Spark that is weaker, but targets groups). Her first spell is just a short delay attack spell, while her second and third spells are group spells with healing and rebuffing properties.
Yuuka has a short delay attack spell. It's not much though
Her second spell is a MAG-based attack spell that also happens to heal the entire party... this is amazing on first glance, until I realize it’s a percentage based heal (a la Eirin).
Her third spell is another attack spell that heals stat debuffs (but only by half). Gonna be real though
Her final spell is Master Spark. It's slightly weaker, but it also hits groups of enemies.
...It’s kind of hard to pinpoint what Yuuka’s specialty is. Having an extra Master Spark around is great, but idk, that feels kind of like overkill. Her support abilities are definitely a bit underwhelming; 10% of all HP is nothing. And I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again; enemy debuffs have never been particularly intimidating to me, so a skill that halves them doesn’t seem great.
If I had to pinpoint anything unique about her, it’s the fact that she’s a NTR specialist. NTR is the second most underrepresented affinity. Your NTR characters are just Wriggle (a PSN attacker), Minoriko (a MND tank and healer), Suwako (a glass cannon) and Tenshi (a balanced tank) and of the group, only Suwako could be described as a dedicated attacker.
Yuuka can at least work as a secondary NTR attacker with more reliable group attacking spells. I’m not sure if any of the upcoming bosses will be weak to NTR but I do know a bunch of bosses in the maingame that she’d be clutch to have (cough Eientei cough). And I think that without affinities, she’s a tank with minimal support a la Yuugi (Flower Shot is fast, and group healing and rebuffing is probably useful SOMEWHERE).
...Man, this still hasn’t helped me decide where her points should go into. Time to test some things... If I put all 310 bonus stats into each stat, here is what I roughly get...
PURE DEF BUILD: With all her bonuses put into DEF, Yuuka’s DEF stat reaches 51k. This puts her at higher than everyone but Yuugi, though her HP stat is far less impressive overall. I’m not sure I like this tbh.
SPLIT HP / DEF BUILD: With a 155 balance of HP and DEF, you get 72k HP and 41k DEF. This spread isn’t much better. A close comparison here is Sakuya, who has 40k DEF, consistently good affinities and SPD and... way more HP than Yuuka. I’m not sure I like this.
PURE MAG BUILD: With all her bonuses into MAG, she’s basically at Okuu levels of MAG which is impressive. Except for in the SPD category, she’s hardier than Okuu overall.
...Screw it, I’m gonna go with Yuuka being Master Spark 2.0. This is endgame anyway, I’ll have all of NG+ (when I unlock it) to give “Yuuka the NTR Tank” a fair shake. Here’s how she looks (with her stats boosted to Marisa levels)
Tumblr media
And for comparison, here is what Marisa’s MAG stat is like
Tumblr media
Hmm. I guess Yuuka’s MAG growth just ain’t as good as Marisa (I actually split Marisa’s bonuses into MAG / SP during the main game, so the fact that Yuuka isn’t even *close* with a pure MAG build is really telling).
But whatever, I’ll have the two Master Sparks, with the large fries and drink
Tumblr media
...And with that Labyrinthine December is officially done!
I’ll probably clean up the remainder of the game at some point next year (I’ll post about it when I do, of course). Not sure whether I’ll be doing a Labyrinth of Touhou 1, New Game+ run or a ‘blind’ Labyrinth of Touhou 2 run next December, but I’m looking forward to continuing this series of games!

Labyrinthine December Part 24: Stat Census
Tumblr media
(It’s a stat census)
Since I’ve roughly bumped everyone up by about... 90 levels (give or take), it’s time to see how our character’s stat growths are coming along. Yeah, the process is kinda tedious, but since the game kinda sucks at feeding the player information and can be particularly about the information it’s giving you, I think knowing your party’s raw numbers is more important than going with your gut.
(Going with your gut is what gets you a SPD built Cirno that is then made obsolete by the existence of Mystia and Renko, though maybe I just have a really wretched gut)
= = =
HP:
Komachi is still ridiculous (171k). Following her are Meiling (98k), Youmu and Yuugi (83k), Remi (81k), Sakuya (74k), Suika (73k) Wriggle (72k) and Flandre (73k). 60k and 50k is where a lot of characters (including most attackers, some supports) sit. Below 50k is now considered low HP (the “losers” here are Patchy at 20k, Kaguya, Suwako at sub-30k and Rumia, Minoriko and Chen at mid-40k).
Meiling’s HP/DEF build seems to be paying off in spades here. Yuugi’s HP isn’t too impressive, but when looking at her DEF stat, it makes sense. It’s kinda crazy to me that a lot of the high HP characters I have, aren’t all that tanky (Komachi gets by on sheer HP, Youmu and Yuugi get ripped to shreds by magic, Flandre’s HP is purely aesthetic etc.)
= = =
SP:
Marisa, Patchy, Reimu, Alice, Sanae, Ran, Kaguya and Yukari all have high SP. SP still isn’t a particularly important stat, but it is interesting to see Alice and Kaguya up here in this category, as their SP not boosted at all by bonus points.

ATK:
Flandre is an absolute beast, because even without serial stat boosts a la Marisa, Flandre is at a staggering 104k ATK.
Following her are: newcomer Eiki (68k), Yuugi (67k), Suwako (65k), Youmu (61k), Nitori (58k), Chen (57k), Remi and Suika (56k), Aya and Komachi (53k), Orin (54k), Rinno (51k) and then Sakuya and Cirno trail behind the pack with their underwhelming 40k ATK.
I don’t think I mentioned this before, but the Yuuka fight made me realize how bad I messed up my attackers ATK stat. Youmu is a massive underperformer (I played most of the game bumping her HP and DEF, only to realize she’s not a tank way, way too late into the main game). Likewise, I built up Suwako’s ATK and MAG instead of just focusing on ATK (same deal with Orin). I also boosted Nitori’s defensive stats early into this run and while I don’t regret it (I think Nitori can be a solid switcher / tank with her Camouflage skill), she’s not living up to her potential as a tactical nuke.
Yuugi and Remi, by comparison, have really impressive ATK, despite the fact that I’ve built both up as only tanks. I’m not sure I’d sacrifice Tank-Yuugi for Nuke-Yuugi given that there are so many FIR Nukes in the game already (Flandre, Alice, Mokou, Orin etc.) but Remilia? I think I might try ATK-build Remilia next time I play this game. It’s also worth noting that Suika’s really fallen behind (she was on par with Youmu and Suwako before) though I also shifted focus to a HP/MND build for her.

DEF:
Yuugi is the leader at 55k. Tenshi, with her balanced defense, follows at 54k. Meiling is at 46k and Remi is at 42k. Then you have a bunch of characters at 35k (Rinno, Sakuya, Youmu). And following them are Eirin is at 34k, Wriggle is at 31k, Yukari at 29k and Ran at 28k.
I don’t know how the gap between characters got worse compared to the last census. Except for Meiling (who I’ve been upgrading with a 50/50 split between HP and DEF), it is crazy that there’s such a big gaps between characters in this category. Well, I can explain away Eirin, Wriggle and Rinno  being built up like Tenshi (50/50 split between DEF and MND bonuses) but Remilia and Sakuya should be *way* higher, as they’ve only been getting DEF boosts.
Compared to the upcoming MND category, it sees like my nurturing of my DEF tanks has been really bad in this run. Note to future self: Sakuya and Remi DEF growths aren’t very good; Rinno, Wriggle and Eirin should probably be built up as dedicated DEF tanks next time.

MAG:
Marisa is still the leader at 81k. I boosted her to make sure she’s above everyone else again (because that’s just how Marisa rolls). Following her are Kaguya (62k), Alice (61k), Patchy and Maribel (60k), Mokou (59k), Kanako (57k), Reisen (51k), Rumia and Flandre (50k), Suwako (48k), Ran (47k) and Sanae (46k). My healers are all around the 30 to 40k mark (Mino at 33k, Reimu at 38k and Eirin at 41k).
The leaders haven’t changed at all, though Maribel is a new addition. Kanako has fallen behind, though that’s because I’ve been going with a HP/MAG build for her. I’m not sure if that was a mistake.
Reisen trailing behind at 51k is pretty miserable. To be fair, I kinda messed up her stats in the maingame, and she’s kind of a Chen-style attacker (but with MAG and ATK) so maybe these stats make sense. But for somebody who I’ve been dumping all their bonuses into? Trailing behind by 10k isn’t the result I was expecting. Well, at least Rumia is kinda catching up.
Overall, it looks the MAG attackers are kinda slacking compared to their physical counterparts

MND:
Patchy is *leading* the pack here at 81k MND, and this is without unnatural stat boosts too. Unfortunately, I feel that pure MND Patchy hasn’t been pulling her weight *at all* in no small part due to her *abysmal* HP. I’m not sure if this is due to going with a MAG/MND build for most of the main game, but yeah. Not great.
The second lead is... Yuyuko? At 61k?? Yeah I’m a bit shocked by this. I was expecting her to be a top level MND tank, but certainly not second (Iku would have been my pick for second-best MND tank). After her is Iku (56k), Tenshi (53k), Minoriko (51k), Yukari (50k), Kaguya and Reimu (48k), then there’s a big gap of Marisa (44k), Ran (40k), Alice (39k), Suika and Orin (38k). Rinno is at 36k while Eirin is at 35k.
MND has made a really good comeback and has become way, way more consistent compared to its physical counterpart. The only underperformer here is Suika; I’ve been bumping her MND and HP up, so it is embarassing that she’s as good a MND tank as *checks notes* Alice and Orin.

I don’t feel like I grouped these right... but whatever, it’s my list
Anyway... I don’t feel there’s any surprises here. Cirno has fallen behind, but I also kinda starting putting her bonuses into ATK (since I feel her role as “speed paralyzer” has totally been stolen by Mystia and Renko).
It’s interesting that while Maribel is another Reisen/Chen/Nitori type character (that relies on self-buffs to be useful), she is much, much slower than any of those other types. I should probably keep this in mind. Yama is also slower than expected, trailing behind almost all other Nukes in terms of speed.
Sanae’s speed is a bit disappointing, as I’ve actually been focusing on bumping her SPD up (I’ve been treating her like Aya in recent bosses, maybe that was a mistake).

I’ve learned quite a bit information from this census, though most of it is in regards to my next playthrough rather than the current one...
Sakuya / Remilia’s growths: even with a focus on DEF bonuses, their DEF growth is pretty disappointing. I read somewhere that focusing on their ATK stats is much better for both characters. I’ll have to keep that in mind next time I do a fresh run of the game.
Patchouli and Tenshi’s growths: both of these characters have been severely underperforming in the Postgame. With both characters, their low health is a huge problem, though it’s really surprising in Tenshi’s case given that her defenses are supposed to be much more balanced. With Tenshi, I think focusing on HP bonuses might work better when you hit the postgame. No idea where to start with Patchouli though, she’s been made completely obsolete by Kaguya.
Cirno’s growths: I feel like focusing on SPD was a good idea at the time. She’s becomes very useful in dungeons because of her fast PAR, and there are a bunch of boss fights in the main-game where PAR-parading/stunlocking is a viable strategy. It’s the postgame, where you get two other SPD paralyzers (Mystia and Renko) that it’s no longer a smart strategy. Might go with SPD for maingame and then... ATK? In Postgame.
Suika’s growths: her ATK has seriously fallen behind without growths. On the flipside, her MND growth hasn’t really paid off. Not sure how to feel about this or what to do about this.
Youmu’s growths: while we seem to be catching up now, it seems like that Youmu really needs to commit to a STR or DEF build otherwise it completely messes with her stats.
Eirin, Wriggle and Rinnosuke’s growths: it seems like going for balanced defenses is a dumb idea when Tenshi already exists. All of them could have been built towards DEF builds and could have easily filled out the DEF category. I’m definitely thinking of DEF-build Eirin for next run. Aside from her overhealing, Eirin hasn’t been terribly useful.
Rumia’s growths: her growths still utterly escape me. From all the research I’ve done, it seems like Rumia is a *terrible* character up until she hits postgame, where her MAG growths eventually, actually become useful enough for her to be used as a proper healer.
