it just seems cruel and sick to me that I tell someone "i think this little life has inherent value and I'd like to extend a little kindness to it when I am able to" and they laugh at me as if I'm being foolish and tell me I must squash it with my shoe :/

AITA for getting my ex fired?
Okay, so I (1500, NB) got my ex (2500 NB) fired last week, and I didn't think it would be as big a deal as it is and I'm starting to feel really bad about it.
For some backstory, my ex and I broke up 250 years ago, so it's not a big deal at all. We broke up on completely mutual terms and there's no hard feelings either way. I mean, I'll admit I was a little jealous when they started seeing this new person (??? NB), but that's NOT why I got them fired.
The problem is that their new partner is clouding their judgment. He's someone we're supposed to work together to kill to protect the world, but ever since they started dating him they've started talking about working together and that all this fighting is pointless. Clearly, there's a conflict of interest here. I tried talking to them about my concerns and they said that I don't know what I'm talking about!
I decided to talk to our boss (??? M) about it, because I thought that maybe if they were demoted or something then they'd understand that they can't just do whatever they want. We were created for ONE purpose and one purpose only, and we can't just stop because of some stupid romance.
But I guess our boss was a lot more mad about it than I thought he'd be because he COMPLETELY fired them in a really fucked up way and now they've been completely exiled from our community. And he said that since I reported them, I can have their job, so I guess I got a promotion out of it.
I'm just really worried because I haven't seen them or their new partner and apparently if I DO see them I'm supposed to kill them, and I didn't want THAT to happen. I was just doing what I was supposed to, but I feel like I might've ruined their life and I feel really, really bad. But they were the one going against orders, so if I hadn't done it then someone else probably would've.

ANYWAY much to observe. i love the through lines of government assigned chapstick flavours and the defining moment that makes the soulmate connection work in every chapter. i love that immediately after posting you cited your sources on tenkos characterisation. very funny very charming and you are very right. i adore the mcs vibes she knows so much about so many things with a 50/50 chance of it being useful and she’s MESSY and she’s FIGURING IT OUT and her relationship with tenko teaches her to give herself grace. they’re just so sweet on each other it brings me endless delight as does touyas lil cameos. he’s a dirtbag and he’s a comedian and hes warmed up to the ducks and i want to put him and his fucking HOOVES in my pocket. i’m sure i will return with more thoughts at some point but for now. very delicious to me. and yeah i wanted to reblog the shigaraki meta that i'd been considering!!!! bc while i was rereading the manga for this route, i realised that everyone, from police to heroes to villains to students, just make Large Assumptions about shigaraki, and they just Say Things about him. and everyone around them just takes it as fact??? it's like. we the audience are being told things about shigaraki, but they don't match up at all with how we see him act. i am hoping that this is intentional on hori's part, esp. with how heavy-handed shig commentary has been by other characters in the last few chapters, to make the point of "midoriya is the only one who's ever Looked and shigaraki and Perceived." bc, like, AFO and the pro heroes objectify/dehumanise tomura but in different ways. i worry. but so much of what we're shown of shig just doesn't match up with what characters say about him!!! it's odd. i really like him, despite being Told That He Is an Object, specifically one of destruction.
goddddd reader in this route is messy and i have a lot of compassion for her. i think she should allow herself to get angry more often. but i think that gifted kid burnout and basically moving back into your parents' house and people judging your "bad" life decisions even though they can't Know what you're going through--it's a touchy subject, tinged with shame and confusion and insecurity of identity, and tomura, i think, is experiencing his own flavour of that, since he doesn't get to be the Greatest Evil VIllain version of himself that he had in his head for so long and now is Just Some Guy. i didn't want reader to have a saviour complex but i wanted her to Care So Hard, and i hope that came across, esp. since her caring so hard also works with her own insecurities.
also yessssssssss YESSSSSS the KEY the GOGGLES it was there in front of them the whole time!!!!! but they weren't looking for it!!!! bc when soulmate bonds are words and marks, who the fuck is gonna be looking for a soulmate bond in just some weird triviality????? lolololol i talk about wanting to handle tomura with care but gave him the silliest soulmate bond thing. i like how useless it is, because it's, like, tomura doesn't need to be useful rn, either.

can i just say that i love the way seonghwa is in a way so infatuated with yn, like the scene couple chapters back where they were making out was so hot, i love stories where men absolutely melt under the woman’s gaze !! like the fact that seonghwa is one of, if not THE, most loyal men of hongjoong’s but still in that moment he was this 👌 close to having yn right then and there is making me feel things, and seonghwa isnt even the one im rooting for 😭 the dynamic does something to me ! enemies to friends with benefits>>>>>>

Does "human essence weaver" just mean that Gharan is human and weaves essence or does she exclusively weave human essence? What is essence? Can i eat it or does it taste bad?

And as for what essences are- Allow me to launch into my world's 'magic' system that I am ever so fond of <3 (I feel I should clarify that for the next section I'm speaking in a sort of in universe sense dsfjdklf;)
Essences are essentially what everything in the world around us is made of. The average person can't see them, but they passively move and change constantly as people go about their daily lives.
(So yes you can eat it, and technically you're always eating them. Because everything's made of them, though I don't imagine a concentrated knot of extracted essences would taste like much of anything depending on the essence)
"Essence weavers" are people who can see and actively and physically manipulate essences. They're called weavers because when they use their "Sight" to see essences, they usually appear as strands with different colors weaving in and making up everything.
(^ The above is not necessarily an accurate depiction, just an approximation)
There are many different types of strands in everything, though they can largely be split up into different elements like Earth, Water, Fire and Air, though there are a few types that stand out on their own for specific reasons. (Soul, Mana and Void are two big important ones. Void strands are exceptionally dangerous strands woven from literal nothing. Mana Strands are what allow non-weavers to manipulate essences through verbal incantations.)
All living things have a Soul strand within them. (Except for Gharan's shapeshifters but that's a whole other can of worms)
It's usually intertwined very tightly with everything else in its form, and removing it un-alives people very easily. Though only really competent weavers can do that easily.

All types of strands can be directly pulled from a source. Some sources are simple and you might only get one type of essence from them, others are more complex and you might get many different types of strands. Once pulled into the physical realm, they can be stored very easily and safely in glass, as for whatever reason, glass doesn't allow the essences to escape.
Anyways yea. Long story short, essences are basically everything. Some people can manipulate them verbally to cast spells and shit. And being able to weave them effectively can even allow someone to create and destroy life very easily

crocheting a scarf as fast as i can because its fucking freezing outside these days and my warmest jacket doesnt have much of a collar on it
I should've started it like a month ago ;-;
