I’m moving out of my parents house in three days. My dad and I agreed last year shortly after I finished school that it would be good for me if I moved out - not because my parents want me out of the house but so I have room and space to grow. When we agreed on that, I barely had any friends. Now, I am active in the local antifa and queer organisations and am moving three villages over into a house where two of my new friends live already. Their house is very artsy and they are lovely people. I am doing things, meeting up with friends, organising events, connecting with people… I am finally living. I think this is the first time since my childhood that my social needs are met. And I am happy and I am alive. I truly am.

anyway. wrote a succession postscript scene that’s like, many years down the line after gerri passes away. roman and shiv are at her funeral.
[INT SCENE]
ROMAN: fuck it, this is stupid. who the fuck—i don’t even know—like who the fuck are they? i’ve never fucking seen them in my life! fuck
SHIV: that’s…gerri’s oldest daughter. [beat] and her husband
ROMAN: [squints] Huh. gerri’s…daughter….daughter daughter daughter…
SHIV: [ignoring him, checking phone, looking for someone]
ROMAN: [still squinting] i thought her daughters like, fucked off to portland for a pair of twincestual antifa eunuchs. or whatever.
SHIV: it’s her funeral, rome.

[his phone vibrates. message from kendall says: it’s bitch o’clock in kenny town baby bro 🙏 send your thoughts and prayers 🙏🙏 btw give my condolences to gerri’s family. she was a real one. i know you know.]

Final stretch and you can truly feel it!
Ken has now reached the clarity that Logan was a brute but he made life, he made us, he was a magnificent awful force. The pain and the hurt are all worth it for the power, the money, the clout and the game. Without his disapproving glare on me, I’ve gotten to be just the same. Like him, I’ll make you my dog, my bodyguard and confidante, my puppet little brother, I’ll kill all the women because I can’t fit them whole in my head. The dehumanisation in real time of everyone around him for the sake of the prize that Logan made into Ken’s holy grail, his only worthy pursuit. The King is dead, long live the King.
Roman has to face that like him, Logan once was a scared little boy who couldn’t make a noise (look at him talking about fucking everyone and staring at Gerri silently). A young man who carried guilt for having killed someone he loved. He’s done that to Gerri this season (and maybe his mum and maybe Shiv before). He brought her the paternal poison chalice that killed her and that is killing him (see my post from the previous episode). he also believe he's done that to Logan...
That guilt was a notion that no one dispelled for Logan or is dispelling for Roman. Logan ‘stopped trying’ eventually and notice how Gerri is slowly fading, Roman doesn’t see her aching for him - We’re the only ones getting those glimpses.
People unconsciously call out to Roman this season “you can’t confront things”, “Listen to her, she doesn’t think you’re a joke”, “He fed that dark mean flame that keeps their hearts warm while another grows cold. Don’t stop trying”. The Antifa symbol as well, asking them for punishment, for fucking the deal and his relationship with Gerri but also to please kill the dark mean man in him. Refusing the helping hand; Barking at it, biting it. Fuck you for showing me a path to the light, as if I was allowed to want it. I can’t take it, yet I can’t live without it. To me, it is the most excruciating story of the show, the true heart of it. Everything he says up to that failed eulogy is pure self-loathing and self-destruction, pure projection of a facade of the kind of man he’s supposed to be and will never truly understand. A man like Mencken mocking his tears (could also be his little pink cards), like Kendall telling him he fucked it when he’s down.
Shiv had been kept out of the succession battle and developed her own motivation for wanting things because, as a woman, like Gerri, like the ex-wives pew, she could “never fit whole in Logan's head”. That kept her separate, that now gives her a chance. Chance of sisterhood? Of self-awareness? Of her own intrinsic motivation - one that is not purely Logan.
The bottom line is Roman does not want to be at the helm, beyond of what it meant to his dad. He, at his core, if he could respect himself, wants to hold Gerri’s hand and have her at his side not in his shadow, he wants to hug his sister because he just found out she’s pregnant, he wants his mum to stroke his hair while he cries it out.
I can’t express it any other way than : It’s women, not fascists, it’s the soft tender loving part of himself that he wants and has always wanted to protect. I just don’t know how/if he can get there? He’s still both terrified and in awe of the man who “made him breathe funny”.

legal advice for all activists: saying things like "by any means necessary" or anything that can be construed as a threat attached to a direct action can and will land you with trumped-up terrorism enhancements if you are charged. be careful what you say publicly, including speeches at protests and on social media, if you are planning to engage in direct action. there are people doing a lot of extra years in prison because of this.

they both actually go to the same university and study the same thing (art history), but they don’t talk because they sat WAY apart from each other. maybe bumped into each other on campus once or twice but since they both also live on opposites sides of town they don’t even ride the same bus.
they meet, instead, at a demo. it’s a left wing antifa demo and they don’t actually have a lot to do with each other, just kinda marching beside each other until the cops come and they run away together.
and then they’re like “wait i’ve seen you around before”- that’s how they realize they go to the same uni.
what made them realize they love each other?
it’s complicated.
you’d think they’d be fwb first and then slowly fall in love, but you’d be wrong.
gil usually sleeps around but since he came out of a pretty shitty relationship he doesn’t want to just fuck around with people who might have transphobic thoughts in their head.
so he wants to find out what kinda person artie is before fucking him.
artie is a proper english gentlemanTM.
he’s also just glad to have a friend bc he’s lonely.
he doesn’t really have any friends aside from his online buddies.
so he is happy to just hang out with gil but WHOOPS guess he’s gay.
he realizes too late he’s catching feelings and at that point he’s well past forgetting about it.
gil, ironically, realizes around the same time, and after some long talks with his dad, decides he should confess.
also knows that if artie says yes he’s gotta come clean about being trans.
he hasn’t planned for shit but arthur also decides to confess, so the day comes, they’re studying together, just hanging out in arthur’s room and arthur goes “i’m kinda in love with you”.
and gil is like “holy fuck i was about to tell you the same thing bro. cool. are we dating”
he then, rather nonchalantly discloses that he's trans, because that's an important piece of information for arthur to know.
arthur does not care and gilbert is very happy to be his boyfriend regardless. does not tell him about the whole dying thing because he’s not yet convinced it’ll last. boy is he surprised when two years later arthur proposes.

they switch between german and english pretty regularly. sometimes gilbert will talk in german and arthur will talk in english. this happens especially in the mornings, when they're both too lazy to switch languages. sometimes they'll switch mid-conversation as well.
after they've gotten married gilbert develops passionate opinions on tea, and arthur develops passionate opinions on bread. sharing your culture or something.
arthur and gil have two dogs (rita and hugo, named after hugo the jungle creature). rita is a german shepherd and arthur's dog, and hugo is a swiss shepherd and gilbert's dog. they had hugo first before arthur decided he wanted his own.
arthur had the "perfect proposal" when he proposed to gil, because gil would always complain about proposals in movies and how he would hate that, and arthur asked him then what the perfect proposal would be, and he'd kept that in mind ever since.
they do visit the uk together regularly, mainly to see arthur's family, but also just as a vacation spot.
gilbert makes fun of how arthur talks, except that because arthur is the main person he speaks english with aside from alfred, but obviously he talks to arthur way more he starts adapting a "bri'ish" style of speaking english.
arthur makes fun of him for it instead, in a shocking turn of events, except arthur adopts various german slang terms and phrases that he sprinkles in without knowing whenever he is speaking german. they're both great at making fun of the other for doing things they do themselves.
arthur tries to get him to say "innit" and gilbert refuses.
arthur: one day you will say it.
gilbert: you don't even say it?!
he does end up saying it and arthur is ridiculously proud of himself.
regarding gilbert dying.
terminal illness! discussion of death and dying!
gilbert's illness is a looming threat in their relationship. an eventuality. arthur is not handling it well but he's trying to. for gil.
when arthur proposed, gilbert and him had a very, very long talk about gil's illness and what that meant for the future of their relationship.
about them not being able to have kids, and that they won't be together for long.
after they had that talk about, arthur decided to marry him regardless.
"if i can't stay with you for the rest of my life i at least want to stay with you for the rest of your life".
gilbert makes joke about him dying and arthur is deeply uncomfortable with them, and it tends to be a big point of argument between them. arthur and ludwig often talk about that subject, though, because they're both the person that understands the other best.
arthur tries to not talk about it too much with gilbert, because doesn't want him to feel guilty about how scared he is of their future. of his future, without gilbert in it. he's having trouble planning ahead, and he doesn't want to plan ahead, either.
he's lost in the present.
gilbert knows, of course he knows, he'd be stupid to not know. and he tries to not have it be the focal point of their relationship, but of course, sometimes things get too much to handle, for both of them. they cry about it, together and they don't necessarily feel better, but it's cathartic enough that they can focus on the here and now again.

I drew my next TTRPG character and I'm not totally happy with the sketch, but I'm mostly pleased and will probably post it tomorrow.
I love him/them. I love him so much already, and I have no idea if he will flop in the actual game. Like he genuinely might be Too Much (tm) to cope with.
But lord what if he works out. I will have the most driven and principled queer antifa space bard DILF with the stupidest backstory I have probably ever concocted AND a spider/kitten sidekick named Daisy Pudding. They're both so good.
Hopefully I can commission some character art from someone better at this than me in the future, before the game starts. I need everyone to see his Lisa Frank punk knife dad aesthetic in full color.

So far, I've heard them
- support the proud boys
- support trump
- demonize the left
- demonize antifa
- use antisemitic rhetoric ("the elite didn't expect this")
- sounds like they're trying to be supportive of Mussolini, or are going to use the 'socialism' part to claim commies are evil fascists
