Eli Hale unintentionally revealing Scott abandoned his responsibility after S6
First, timeline stuff first as it's needed for background info (also see my previous timeline/calendar post and www.teenwolfwiki.com/Timeline)
Sophomore year S1 & S2 happen back to back Jan - March 2011
Junior year S3A Aug - Sept 2011 S3B Oct - Nov 2011 S4 Dec 2011 - Feb 2012
Senior year S5 fall 2012 S6A spring 2013
After HS S6B fall 2013 Finale in ~2015
Movie in (fall?) 2026
Eli Hale
Eli is 15 in 2026 so he was born in 2011 before Sept. (9 month pregnancy) and conceived in 2010 before Derek followed Laura to BH back in S1
Based on what we see (and don't see), it's safe to say Derek was not in a long-term or committed relationship with Eli's mom
When Derek found out about Eli is up for debate but not likely in S1/S2. When he leaves in S4 he could've left and settled down but instead chose to chase after Kate and her hunters to stop them, which makes me think he might not have known till after S6.
Scott: "Wow, you've gotten really big" Eli: "Yeah, It's probably because I was only three the last time you saw me"
Eli would've turned 3 in 2014 then 4 in 2015
Derek settled down to raise Eli in BH as early as after anuk-ite in Fall 2013 or as late as 2015 before Eli turned 4
Scott
Eli tells us Scott hasn't seen him since he was 3, meaning Scott left BH in 2014/2015 and DIDN'T COME BACK until 2026
So, at some point after defeating the anuk-ite, he basically abandoned his responsibilities in cleaning up the new hunter mess from Monroe escaping
By the final episode of S6 when Scott is telling the story in flashbacks to Alec (the newly bitten wolf) he'd already left BH. Rather than calling his "pack"/allies for backup, he was calling them to dump his responsibilities on them yet again
Meanwhile, the Hales (Derek, Eli, Peter, Malia) all stayed in BH and resettled it as their home

scisaac (scott mccall/isaac lahey)
Thank you the ask!
Ship It (mostly)
It's not really one of those ships that I faun over. When it's done well its a nice background ship, but I'd never go out looking for it.
What made you ship it?
I don't remember what the first introduction to them as a ship was. But they are funny on scene together, spend a lot of time while Issac is basically living with them, and they are cute and puppy-like.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
Issac is a sassy puppy and Scott is a kind puppy. I think the play between those two can be interesting and at a surface level fun to read/see in art.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I think Scott is a toxic friend and leader. He thinks too much on his morals and bigger picture that he misses the small and subtle things about the people around him. With Issacs history with his father and constant childhood abuse, and the way he compensates for it with sass and false bravo, Scott would turn into a secondary abuser. Issac wouldn't say anything or stand up for himself because the neglect would be a bit of a familiar comfort even if it caused pain. And Scott with his hero complex would only ever see that Issacs life has improved and pat himself on his back, never actually seeing how his self-obsorbed tendencies are their own form of abuse.
Sorry that turned out longer then I anticipated. I have a lot of mixed emotions about these two. (And I'm not a fan of Scott McCall)

My husband is in season 5 of his Teen Wolf rewatch, and omg I'm getting triggered by Scott's self righteousness. I always hated it with the "heroes" on Once Upon a Time, and I hate it now, too.
It's that whole it-has-to-be-my-way-or-it's-WRONG-and-EVIL nonsense that just really rubs me the wrong way.

What if Teen Wolf just replaced Scott's character with Danny? Like Danny goes wandering through the woods one night for whatever reason and gets bit. He doesn't want to go to Jackson because he's freaking out and it's Jackson so he goes to the one person that won't sent him to mental hospital after hearing the story of what happened in the woods. Stiles Stilinski, who he knows slightly better because Stiles' best friend, Scott is quickly getting more popular (and more distant) since he started dating the new girl, Allison (who is popular because she is also Lydia's new best friend). And since Scott is more distant now, Stiles quickly agrees and the two become friends.
(+ Danny teasing Stiles about Derek)

Full disclosure, I have not seen the Teen Wolf movie and no I do not plan on it. I have caught a few things through the magic of tumblr and I had some thoughts. So if everything I saw is accurate; Derek has a kid Eli (basically a Stiles replacement since Dylan wasn’t in the movie. Also, nobody knows who his mother is?) and Derek dies, and he leaves his kid to Scott and Allison. Am I right so far? I’ve seen a few posts entertaining the idea of Stiles being Eli’s other dad, fix-its that have him resurrecting/saving Derek in some capacity. And so it got me thinking of my own version of how I would fix this dumpster fire and like,
What if Stiles was not Eli’s dad?
No no no, hear me out, okay?
Derek had Eli with some one night stand or whatever, it’s not important. She’s not in the picture but neither is Stiles. Stiles is just the one that got away, he’s the guy Derek has been pining over for the past fifteen years, and nothing more. Stiles finally got away from the supernatural shitshow and Derek is not going to be the one to drag him back into it just because he has feelings for him.
But Stiles is still the closest thing Derek has ever had to family and it makes sense for Derek to entrust his family with Stiles’ family. So what if he left Eli in the care of John? (hIS NAME IS JOHN, FIGHT ME ON THIS.) And John, he kind of adores the kid, right? Of course when Derek dies (because he does) John takes Eli in just as he promised he would.
But John is getting older. Eli is a handful because he is just like Stiles. John has to tell Stiles eventually what happened and he really could use some help trying to wrangle a grieving teenager, so he calls Stiles.
Stiles is FURIOUS when he finds out what happened. He hasn’t been in contact with Scott for years because he realized what a piece of shit Scott was, but the fact that Scott didn’t even call when everything was happening makes him angry. The fact that they let Derek die?? More than angry. Angry enough to kill somebody. But when he meets Eli, all that anger disappears. Eli, who is this weird mix of Derek and Stiles, who is mourning the loss of his only parent, his only family. He knows what it’s like to lose a parent, but even after his mom died, he always had his dad. Eli doesn’t have that so Stiles makes it his responsibility to become that figure for him. Not his dad because nobody could replace Derek, but a guardian.
He moves back to town, he bonds with Eli, and in his spare time he maybe starts to explore the possibilities of necromancy. Death in a place like Beacon Hills has never been permanent– Peter and now Allison are proof of that. He doesn’t tell anybody because he doesn’t actually plan on bringing Derek back, it’s just a thought that keeps him from falling apart entirely. During this time, he realizes not only his feelings for Derek, but Derek’s feelings for him. He wishes he could have just a few minutes with Derek, wishes he could go back in time and redo everything. Maybe he would have stayed in Beacon Hills, or he would have asked Derek to leave with him. And time travel, yeah that’s a possibility, too, but time is a fickle bitch and Stiles isn’t willing to gamble with it. What if he messes something up and erases Eli from existence?
In the end, bringing Derek back is kind of an accident.
Years have passed and Eli is healing, Stiles is healing– they even manage to fix the jeep together because symbolism. Stiles is going through some old journals or something of Deaton’s and he finds something that looks kind of promising (something about true love being the one thing more powerful than death or something equally as cheesy) and he’s reading it out loud and it just happens. No fanfare, no sparks, almost like it’s not magic at all. One second, Stiles is alone, and the next, Derek is there– older than the last time Stiles saw him, just as beautiful. There’s some panic because what the fuck, the last thing Derek remembers is the fire and being so sure he was going to die and thinking if only I could see Stiles one more time and now he’s here, standing in front of Stiles– also older than the last time Derek saw him, and just as beautiful. But after the panic, there’s some kissing and some crying and some long awaited love confessions, and by the time they go home, Stiles still isn’t sure exactly what happened, what he did, what the consequences might be, but he’s got his arm around Derek’s waist and the burn of Derek’s stubble on his lips and Derek is alive so nothing else fucking matters.

Can we just talk about this scene in season 2?
This is right after Scott forced Derek to bite Gerard. Not only did Scott take advantage of Derek by using his body to further his own plan but he made Derek relive one of the worst traumas of his life.
Let’s talk about how Scott lied to everyone including his best friend. He didn’t tell them about his plan. He just went about things while leaving them all in the dark. He didn’t even tell Stiles who is supposed to be like his brother. They tell each other EVERYTHING and Scott chose not to tell him this. Why? Probably because Stiles would have told him it was wrong. Even though Stiles and Derek don’t see eye to eye on things he still respects him enough to not bring up his trauma and even defends him against Chris by calling Chris out about Kate killing Derek’s family. So yes, he would have ripped Scott a new one for this.
Derek who has been taken advantage of before in his life which led to his family dying. Kate literally SAed him when he was a CHILD and she was an ADULT. She manipulated him to thinking that she loved him so he would give up details about his family so she could kill them. He lost his entire family and pack because someone took advantage of him and he blamed himself for it.
On top of that he was still getting over Paige. Paige who he was in love with who he killed because her body rejected the bite. He killed his first love because she was dying from something he had set in motion. That’s probably why he was so standoffish with Isaac, Erica, and Boyd because he didn’t want to go through that again. Because he had seen what happens when someone rejects the bite. He knew how it felt to lose pack and family. Losing Paige was one of the biggest traumas of his life hence his blue eyes.
So round about back to this scene when Scott LIED to everyone and MADE Derek bite Gerard. Gerard’s body rejected the bite because of Scott replacing his pills with mountain ash. The look of horror on Derek’s face as Gerard starts leaking that black goo. The look of him reliving not just his first trauma of killing Paige but also the trauma of Kate taking advantage of him and using his body to further her own plans.
Scott did the exact same thing in my eyes as Kate did. He used Derek’s body to further his own plans. He lied to him and acted like he was part of his pack getting Derek to start trusting him and even though Gerard was the bad guy he forced Derek to relive one of his biggest traumas.
The look on Derek’s face as he watched Gerard literally breaks my heart because that is the look of someone reliving all of his pain. The pain of killing Paige, the pain of being SAed and taken advantage of, the pain of losing his family because of that.
Something like this is unforgivable to me. But Derek being the good guy that he is still tries to help Scott time and time again after this.
Scott doesn’t deserve someone like that in his life because Scott is selfish and only cares about something if it benefits him. He puts on the good guy act making people think he’s trying to be the better person. But his actions speak a completely different story.
I just want to hug Derek and pack him away so he stops getting hurt. 😭🖤

It's some kind of poetic justice that the thing people are talking about the most about the Teen Wolf movie, the part that's left such a big impact, that's had such an intense reaction, isn't the Scott and Allison reunion storyline as Jeff and Posey intended and wanted, it's Derek Hale's death.
Once again, the lead character and his story is overshadowed by someone else. If Jeff thinks that by finally getting rid of the one remaining character that was more loved than the lead, that people would finally "watch for the right reasons" now, then he was dead wrong. Because there's no chance of any future sequels happening now. The few who were watching will become even fewer now that the fan favourite is gone.

Is Scott a hero just because he’s a protagonist?
Okay so I’ve pulled an all nighter just reading teen wolf meta after meta (because I am obsessed and have issues) and a common theme was that Scott was a bad hero because heroes sacrifice themselves and Scott didn’t do that.
But why is Scott labelled as a hero in the first place?
Teen wolf wasn’t a marvel series about a boy with powers trying to be a superhero. It was about a him trying to regain control over his life.
He had debilitating asthma but decided that it would not stop him from being an athlete.
We was attacked in the woods and turned into something unrecognisable but still fought for the right to have a regular teenage experience.
He was defensive over Derek’s new betas and Jackson because he knew that they’d never be able to experience a normal life ever again.
He had a month long mental breakdown for not being able to save the chimeras while his body was once again falling apart on him.
He goes through the process of hating being a werewolf for changing his life, to accepting it, to defending his right, and the right of other supernaturals, to live.
Have y’all seen the werewolf movies that teen wolf references? The entire premise of all those movies is that a young man is turned against his will, loses control and kills a loved one, then spends the rest of the movie trying decide whether life like that is worth living at all.
The only time he actually assumes that hero role, is when it’s pushed onto him. Like in season one where Stiles gets mad that Scott didn’t prevent the Sheriff from being hit by a car, or in season 3A when he HAS to break the mountain barrier or their parents literally die.
Scott just wanted to live his life bro, is that really so bad?
(I could also talk about how Scott does in fact sacrifice himself but that’s for a later date)
