You can call Brendon whatever you like but where exactly is Ryan Ross - exactly nowhere. Hello there - he totally failed his own career. That's facts. He isn't that amazing. At least Brendon is doing something and Ryan is a has-been that never will be.
and he doesn’t want to! ryan doesnt want to be a massive star like bdon does. he hasn’t failed anything, because he never wanted to be big. ryan is a prime example of someone doing it for the ART, he was in this business because he loved making music, i wont deny, bdon used to be like this! in fever/p.o/hell, even vices to doab era, it seemed he really cared for his craft. as ryan used to. now, bdon evidently does not give a fuck and wants to ride the coattails of ryan, dallon, etc who started him, and create radio hits.
and, you can’t say ‘ryan isnt that amazing’ while listening to early and even current patd music. ryan STARTED the band, he wrote the first two albums (and if theories are to be believed, a tad of the third). without him we wouldnt have the likes of i write sins, lying, but its better if you do, nine in the afternoon, northern downpour, and so on: a lot of the greatest hits! plus he named the band, named the album, he was even supposed to be the frontman before bdon came along. just because he’s chosen to life his life out of the spotlight now, does not mean he didn’t help this band to become who they are today
and anyways, ryan doesn’t owe us music? he doesn’t owe anyone anything. he’s allowed to continue living his life out of the public eye, that doesn’t make him a failure

sorry i know nobody followed me for my music opinions but the new panic album is so disappointing.
the songs are so forgettable. i think if any other artist made this, i would brush it off and not care. but to put "sugar soaker" under panic's name... ew. i just feel bad for all the former band members

Just as a Reminder for 6/01
I know most of you guys don’t think of Brendon in the most positive perspective since the accusations. And I respect your opinions and all but all I ask is this, don’t be mean or aggressive to those of us in the fandom that have been waiting for Brendon to come back for the past four years now. There are others that have missed him and the music that he’s made. I know I have. Let us have some fun with the new album and music video. Thank you.

I think I solved VLV. like totally and completely.
it starts off in the song Viva Las Vengeance, where Brendon kills the DJ, who was Ryan Ross. then, he goes into the story of why.
They were breaking up, but still leading each other on, as seen in Something About Maggie and Middle Of A Breakup. They were also incredibly toxic, as is implied in Don't Let The Light Go Out, where Brendon regrets having killed him, but consoles himself in Local God by convincing himself Ryan's memory is alive and he's become a god. Then, in God Killed Rock and Roll, he realises he's lost all his talent do too Ryan's absence.
He realises he's alone, and "goes to bed", or enters himself into eternal sleep.
the rest of the songs are just worldbuilding and filler.
i am sorry ive sent you like 50 asks in like an hour oops
Then is Maggie the music industry? Or fame?
Again I agree with most if not all of the above but I'd like to tack on my insistent theory that this is all Brendon talking to himself in the mirror, telling himself a story, gaslighting himself that the band is fine he's doing fine etc.
Just seems like a mental breakdown but made more "pretty" but his cohort of ghost writers and his failed high notes. It's very self exposing but in such a dishonest way, through such a twisted lens I almost have to applaud him.
I also think the music videos (of which I have seen maybe 2.3 of) back you. Some of them gave strong strong Miss Jackson vibes.
All in all this ablum was every bit of the shitshow we predicted it would be and I'm glad to wash my hands of it now.

okay jokes aside please dont stream vlv(?) if youre gonna hate listen at least pirate it. bernod urinator is a disgusting waste of skin who does not deserve to have his solo music (bc it is solo, theres no ryan or dallon to ease the pain anymore. no excuses) to be listened to
brendon stans dont even TRY to argue with me i hate that horrid streak of piss with every fiber of my being

my thoughts on the new panic album
just finished listening so here is my bullet pointed live reaction. i have not been a patd fan since like 2018 so please do not read this if ur looking for a glowing review. HOWEVER there are some good parts i'm not wholly biased, but spoiler alert all of those good parts relate to the instrumentals not the vox/lyrics.
enjoy
i’m not listening to the singles again; don’t let the light go out is the best one because he’s only doing falsetto for like 40% of the song instead of the usual 90% and also mike naran slayed. still would not listen to it in my spare time tho
star spangled banger
would it kill this dude to sing in a healthy octave
what the fuck why is the first verse so fast
“home of the freaks” is an extremely corny line also why is he screaming it at me
i do like the bassline
it seems like all of these songs so far have instrumental solos which i would normally like but they’re all mid and sound exactly the same so what’s the point
god killed rock and roll
omfg he wishes he was queen soooooo bad
this one is ok so far. guess why? because he’s not singing in his high register (…for now?)
… never mind. damn it can he go ONE SONG WITHOUT IT???
this song did NOT have to be this long why is it still going
say it louder
“everybody hates you now” is he directing this at himself bc yeah no shit
i HATE that he based this whole song around that “louder for the people in the back” phrase
i swear to god some of these songs aren’t bad but then he goes into falsetto and it makes my ears want to explode
okay this one is not awful i’ll give him that, it’s pretty theatrical
sugar soaker
i like how the verses sound, but i don’t like the chorus it feels like he just defaulted back to the standard chorus for all the songs so far
and i hate the lyrics as a whole wtf kind of metaphor is comparing the woman to a car
this had potential
something about maggie
less than 30 secs in i already don’t like this. especially the lyrics.
why does he keep referring to a DJ in these songs??
has he explained what the recurring character of maggie represents or is she just A Girl
WHY DOES HE KEEP REFERRING TO AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE????
i like the instrumental break at 2:00 it actually sounds unique compared to all the other ones but also i’m a band and orchestra kid so i’m just a sucker for orchestral/brass/woodwind parts
sad clown
this mv could NEVER be that one ofmd scene
is he going for opera bc he’s failing miserably
… and is he aware that opera is more than just going as high as you possibly can and saying italian words
wtf is this beat change at the end
brb taking a lunch break my ears are bleeding
all by yourself
WHAT are these lyrics supposed to mean
there are so many songs on this album where the verses sound cool (mostly instrumentally but also vocally)… and then the chorus sucks ass
(and you will Never guess why (he cannot sing high notes (that’s why)))
“we live FOREVHA”
do it to death
i detest everyone who was comparing the singles to vices/pretty odd, but i WILL say that the way he sings “patience now, don’t cut the line” here reminds me a little of vices
“do it all to death” more like do it all the ti-[GUNSHOT]
the shut up and go to bed part sounds so out of place
wait that’s IT?? that was a weird song to end the album with.. idk what i personally would’ve chosen but
1 day later update i have already forgotten how these songs sound so. not memorable whatsoever
