Two Heartbeats on One Page: A Collection of Playlists

This story has THREE playlists: a soundtrack and two character playlists. So here they are! I know I already shared the story link but this is just in case someone who hasn’t seen it comes across it in the wild :3

Jordan’s in love with two people (who are in love with each other), he hasn’t spoken to his parents in five years, and despite working almost sixty hours a week, he’s still ages away from having enough to pay for the three surgeries he needs to complete his gender confirmation. This would be a problem anywhere, but particularly so in small-town, homophobic Arizona.

He needs a vacation.

Darcey’s been discharged from the Army after knowing nothing else for eight years, he’s unemployed, and, at twenty-seven years old, he has no choice but to move back in with his parents. Since his discharge was dishonorable, he doesn’t even have health insurance to treat his PTSD.

He just needs some time to get back on his feet and reconnect with his family.

Instead, they find each other.

When Jordan takes Darcey home from a party, they mean it to be a one-night stand, but they turn out to be too compatible to want to give each other up. Neither wants a relationship, but a straightforward, no-strings-attached friends-with-benefits setup will keep things nice and neat, right?

ok so if for some reason some of yall havent seen it yet, a bitch got called out, like it was pages long, and while a lot of it was super exaggerated, sometimes even downright incorrect, i can admit when i’ve slipped up so imma make 1 post and 1 post only about this situation because lets face it i was practically asking for a callout post even if i didnt think i was

(sorry if this sounds salty but i’ve had it up to here with these people and their bullshit)

im sorry for calling the admin aphobic when they are in fact, ace. in the past i’ve seen “no ace discourse” on blogs used as another way of saying “i think ace people are fake but i dont want hate” but i see now (and can fully understand) why it would also mean “im fucking sick and tired of hearing about this so dont ask me about it”. were other ppl in the server saying some shit that was pretty aphobic? yeah. but calling the admin aphobic was a misunderstanding on my part that i blew way out of proportion and im sorry for it.

listen, admittedly i havent read autumn’s au, my adhd allows me to sit down and read a fic maybe once in a blue moon and only if im really pumped for the fic in question. should i do more research on shit and listen more to trans folk and people of color? yes, absolutely. and im sorry my opinions of yall clouded basic things like that. im not entirely informed but i do know for a fact that autumn’s fiance is non binary and she has been asking for their input, i cant say much more than that for obvious reasons but i think its important to know.

Am I a TERF??? I support transwomen, I will gladly and freely use feminine pronouns, won't discourage them from divulging in womanly things, and overall am very supportive of them, but when lesbians say they're with transwomen, who have penises, I can't help but feel as though that isn't lesbianism? As a lesbian, I would not actively seek out someone with a penis, regardless of gender identity. I don't want to be a TERF, I don't support their platform...

I just feel like “lesbians like girls only.” Was created in a time where trans wasn’t really a thing, & has since been inaccurate. Does this make me transphobic? I personally don’t care how someone identifies, as long as there isn’t a penis in the bedroom. Does this make me less of a lesbian, because I’d date someone who identifies as a man or nothing at all, as long as there is female genetalia? I’m so confused and feel so gross because I might be transphobic & I don’t want to be.

Hey. I’m wondering whether you got us confused or something. All the mods on this blog are radical feminists or at least radical-leaning, and while we do not “identify” as “terfs” (because “TERF” is not a political ideology), we sure do stand by radical feminism.

Anyway, being anti cotton-ceiling (aka the name of the discourse for transwomen to be inserted in lesbian’s dating lives) does not equal being a feminist, let alone a radical one, so you don’t have to be radical in order to not deny reality and not lie about lesbian’s sexuality.

Sexuality is about SEX (as in biological sex) not about gender (as in the social construct which defines bullshit things like “men like blue” and “women like pink” or “men don’t shave” but “women do” or “women wear makeup” and “men do not wear make up”). Sexuality is about being attracted to males, females, or both, or neither. (In other words, you can be homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual or asexual). There are only two sexes, no other sexes (no, intersex people are not a third sex, here’s a post about this in case you’re wondering https://star-mut.tumblr.com/post/166567500691/so-like-california-just-made-it-so-that-nonbinary)

So once you get what sexuality is, and what sex is… lesbians are homosexual females. Aka women exclusively attracted to other women. But let’s say those women don’t want to be called women, and instead prefer to call themselves men, or agender, or nonbinary… choosing to change your gender (social construct) changes nothing about your sex (biological reality).

To say that sexuality can vary with gender, is to say that sexuality isn’t natural and immutable. That would mean no one is gay, or straight, everyone is just ~~~fluid. But that’s not the case is it? You said it yourself: you don’t wanna deal with penis.

Well lucky for us, there is already a word for all people with penises MALE. So you already know: you’re not into any male. But you are into people with vaginas: females. And you’re also female.

Soooo you’re a female homosexual. There’s a catchy little term for that: lesbian.

So no, you are not any less of a lesbian for being into females: that actually just means you’re actually 100% a lesbian.

About “transphobia” and being transphobic… Having sex with people and dating people is not a human right. No one has a RIGHT or a CLAIM to you. So when transwomen say that lesbians are “transphobic” for not wanting to be with transwomen… that’s actually extremely homophobic and misogynistic because 1: it implies female homosexuals should have sex with males and 2: women owe them sex.

I don’t think you actually believe you owe these people anything. And from your bio, you’re only 17. Why do you think transwomen actually preach that underage 17 year old women could somehow “oppress” them?

It’s because they wanna manipulate you into doing things you don’t want to do for the sake of being “nice”.

You can be anti radical feminist all you want, that’s your choice. But at least know you are worth more than to believe that you somehow inherently owe transwomen anything.

You can fight “transphobia” in other ways, like tackling how harmful gender stereotypes are to dysphoric people. But not sleeping with or dating people is not oppression.
